IDK Links With Gunna For Flexing Anthem “TiFFANY”

IDK is seemingly recruiting an all-star lineup for his next album, as he drops “TiFFANY” with trap superstar Gunna. We say that because the London, England rapper and singer grabbed Joey Bada$$ for “DENiM”, the lead single for BRAVADO INTiMO. On the previous track, IDK and Joey both brought it over a smooth boom-bap flavored beat. With that in mind, Gunna certainly had some pretty big shoes to fill following “DENiM”. The Atlanta lyricist does succeed, especially when it comes to sticking to the topical focus of “TiFFANY”. That being that living for the grind will put you ahead of so many other people in life.

“I’m the type that could never lose (Never lose) / I’m the type that be breakin’ rules / And I’m breakin’ backs, gotta bring it back“, IDK raps on the first few bars of his verse. Also making this track go is the trap beat cheffed up by Kenny Stuntin, EVRGRN, and Turbo, the latter being a frequent producer of Gunna’s. It helps this first-time link-up more seamless between two fairly different rappers. As for BRAVADO INTiMO, the details are pretty scarce. Outside of the title and the tandem of singles, the release date and cover art are unknown. It is expected to hit streaming sometime this year, though. It will eventually follow up on the massive F65, which also had a star-studded cast of Benny The Butcher, Snoop Dogg, NLE Choppa, Rich The Kid, and more.

MAVI Begins Rollout For New Album “Shadow Box” With Sobering “Drunk Prayer”

MAVI is going to send you to outer space with his new single “drunk prayer”. This is the Charlotte, North Carolina native’s first solo release of 2024, and the lead single for his third album. According to Stereogum, there is good chance that this record deals with a lot of heavy topics. The talented multi-hyphenate revealed that he was disappointed in how his sophomore record, Laughing so Hard, it Hurts, played out. So much so, that MAVI sent himself in a spiral.

“I didn’t really know how to get back into making stuff into the way I like. I felt really hopeless about it… getting really drunk, dealt with love and heartbreak, having to be there for my family”, MAVI said. Overall, it sounds like it was a really difficult time for him. However, it seems that he is back to making art that he enjoys. Furthermore, this most likely means we are going to get the very best out of him when Shadow Box drops on August 9. As for this new single, MAVI is delivering a dark tale about said alcohol, death, and other grim imagery. Additionally, the production is absolutely transcendent. Credit here goes to Angelo Leroi for putting together so many compelling layers.

Ice Spice Showcases An Otherworldy Sound For Potential Single “Phat Butt”

There is a belief out there that Ice Spice’s upcoming debut album Y2K! could be career altering record for better or worse. The New York rapper experienced an extremely quick rise to star status after several viral singles. It has led to brand deals, as well as co-signs from major stars. However, after the release of her first project, Like.. ? in early 2023, the quality of her releases has not been up to snuff, for the most part. Those tracks of course include “Think U The S*** (Fart)” and “Gimmie A Light”. But perhaps this potential single from Ice Spice, “Phat Butt”, could swing her fortunes.

Since her fans are going to have wait another month and change for the LP, the 24-year-old has been extremely generous with the snippets. With “Phat Butt” being teased multiple times in the past couple of days, there is a good chance we get another sneak peek at the sonic direction soon. Compared to the aforementioned promotional cuts, “Phat Butt” sees Ice Spice go for a more spacey, warped, and dark sound. It sounds like something Yeat would have put on his last record, 2093.

In terms of the artist performance, the “Munch” MC is bringing a more stripped back and cool cadence. It is a pretty stark change from the shouty deliveries on “(Fart)” and “Gimmie A Light”. The flows and bars are also pretty sticky, “Name got the b**** gaggin’, hit the bench up and tagged in / B****, you lost, throw the flag in, stay on a jet, but ain’t laggin’ (Yup) / Got these b****es copying my pose (My pose) / Got these b****es bitin’ all my flows (Bitin’ all my flows) / Like ballerinas, keep em’ on they toes (On they toes) / And I really write, like f*** a ghost (Ghost, ghost, ghost)“. If this is the type of material fans are getting a lot of on Y2K!, then those monthly listener numbers are going to shoot back up.

Clipse Reveal That Their Upcoming Album Will Be Produced By Pharrell

In an exclusive interview with Vulture, Pusha T and No Malice (Clipse) announced that their new album will be entirely produced by Pharrell. This one heck of bombshell, as the Virginia-based duo are making their return after 15 long years. In 2009 we got Til The Casket Drops, which had eight songs featuring Pharrell production. So, it is great to hear that even after all of this time, the band is still getting back together. We do not much else about the record, as Pusha T and No Malice kept the details to a minimum. The important thing is we know we are getting a Clipse record soon, which will be one of high quality they promise.

“I think this is where you get the difference between taste and filler. This music is curated. This is a high taste-level piece of work. You can only have that level of taste when you have the fundamentals down to a science. I think it’s been definitely missing”, Push told Vulture. Malice doubled down on that take, affirming, “This is smart basketball. It’s fundamentals”.

Summrs Previews Next Album With Fiery Banger “Nobody Knows”

Prolific Lafayette, Louisiana rapper Summrs is gearing up for another new album and it is coming very soon. In fact, fans of the MC will not have to wait too much longer, as TALE OF DA RAVEN should be dropping at some point in July. The veteran already came through with a precursor to this forthcoming LP called B4DARAVEN. It boasted just seven songs and spanned just under 19 minutes. It seems that Summrs is going to give more of what the fans want on the sequel, as “nobody knows” is already gaining traction.

Working in elements of New Orleans bounce, Southern hip-hop, and trap, Summrs is bringing an ominous vibe overall on “nobody knows”. He is also paying homage to Yeat a little bit on this track, especially with his cadence and some of the elements in the instrumental. On this two-and-a-half-minute banger, Summrs is talking violence, money, and street talk. “N**** know that we up / Play with that green, I’m a money machine / My n**** my money is knowin’, my money is up“. If “nobody knows” is the sound of TALE OF DA RAVEN, then everyone is in for a hell of a good time.

Megan Thee Stallion put on for her hometown over the weekend, as the H-Town Hottie had a four-day stay in Texas for her tour. Her massive journey across the United States, and eventually the UK, has been a pretty successful one, to say the least. Throughout her run, Megan has brought out some high-profile guests, previewed new music, and has just an overall blast performing. All of this is building further anticipation for her forthcoming album MEGAN, which is slated for release on June 28. In addition to the Hot Girl Summer trek, the hitmaker has put out three promotional singles. The most recent one is “BOA”, which also received a cool retro video game to go along with it. That reason alone is why Megan Thee Stallion was gifted a custom Game Boy handheld with a version of the game on it.

According to HipHopDX, the “Cobra” songwriter got this rad gift from the folks over at the Moody Center in Austin. The Game Boy device even has one of the outfits she wore in the music video for “BOA”. The event center shared the video on TikTok, and Megan was absolutely nerding out over the present. She screamed like a little schoolgirl, as she could not believe what she was holding in her hands.

In addition to the tech, she also received a custom box and jewelry. Megan just keeps winning and winning.

The Detroit icon started his album rollout for The Death of Slim Shady already by releasing the controversial track “Houdini”.

With two mainstays looking to reaffirm their positions in hip-hop lore already being big news, there could not be anything that could top that right? Well, think again, as rumors are swirling around X circles that LL Cool J and Eminem have a collaboration potentially in the works for the first time ever. Let us start with the negative’s first. The song is already losing hype amongst the fans, as the song was leaked to X in full yesterday, potentially ruining the chance that it officially drops. Furthermore, the people that did check out the leak felt that Emimen put in a forgettable performance. Now for the positives. Devin Malik’s Talents Cannot Be Denied Any Longer After Hearing “BACKSTAGE”

Devin Malik has been emerging this year and is really close to breaking out. Most people first heard of this guy just months ago, as he had major contributions to ScHoolboy Q’s album of the year candidate, BLUE LIPS. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania product had loads of production credits, including “oHio”, “First”, “Smile”, and “Nunu”. In terms of rap performances, fans could hear him on “Back n Love”, as well as “Love Birds”. Devin certainly made a name for himself this year, but he also has worked with other major names like Isaiah Rashad, playing more of a behind-the-scenes role on The House Is Burning. But, Devin Malik is out to continue to prove he is not just a TDE affiliate, dropping a new single called “BACKSTAGE”.

This is one of three singles this year, and just his fifth of his solo career. His first offering was the more straightforward trap/pop rap banger “LINK DUCKER”. That came out almost one year ago exactly, hitting platforms in August. But back to 2024 output, Devin has put out “CANADIAN TUX”, an aggressive and braggadocious cut produced by Working On Dying and F1LTHY. Then, we would get “PDA”, a more subdued melodic track about love and yearning for it. This brings us to “BACKSTAGE”, perhaps Devin’s most bouncy and danceable single to date. Here, the rising star is introducing a girl from outside of L.A. (where he resides now) and having her accompany him on his day in the city. Kanye West Leaves Fans Dumbfounded With “Sexist” Line On Rich The Kid’s Upcoming Album

Kanye West’s lyricism has been a pretty hot topic of debate all throughout his career, but especially in recent years in many fans’ eyes… or ears, we should say. Moreover, there’s now a new conversation around his bars that isn’t like the old days of his raunchy and self-aware narcissism on albums like The College Dropout. Rather, many online believe that Ye punches under his weight these days, and the latest case study in that is a previewed feature verse on a remix of Rich The Kid’s “Gimme A Second” off his upcoming new album Life’s A Gamble, dropping on Friday, June 28. “I need to see if the sex good, I’m a sexist,” he raps at one point.

Of course, a lot of fans thought this line was just plain funny, but a whole lot more thought that this was just corny or straight-up weak. Hopefully Life’s A Gamble has some other lyrical highlights, but to be fair, we don’t actually know if this Kanye West collab will show up on the tracklist. As such, maybe it won’t be that big of a deal, especially as we’re unclear whether more VULTURES installments will ever come out. We know that he was in the studio with Young Moose recently, but he and Ty Dolla $ign aren’t as heavily on the VULTURES train these days, it seems. Maybe that changes soon…

Beyond Kanye West’s lyricism, Rich The Kid also added another detail to his new album announcement: the launch of a new cryptocurrency. It seems like he’s really in a heavy rollout mode right now, one that he hasn’t been in on this scale in a while. Life’s A Gamble is looking less like a gamble with each new bit of info we get, albeit with the reverse connotation when it comes to the Yeezy mogul. It’s not much of a gamble to say that, if this verse drops, folks won’t look at it with any less skepticism.

Meanwhile, Kanye West is dealing with way more important and harrowing stuff right now that he could face accountability for if true. A sexual harassment lawsuit from a former employee brought a lot of claims forward. Not only that, but artist Niykee Heaton also accused him and Diddy of assault. We’ll see what happens in this realm, and whether or not it has a tangible impact on any potential future releases.

Boldy James & Conductor Williams Establish Their “Terms And Conditions” On New Single: Stream

When it comes to conversations about the best hip-hop artists, what matters most: who’s been the best over time, or who is the best right now? Furthermore, we just got our first taste of how good this album will likely come out thanks to the project’s first single, “Terms And Conditions.” The “Mr. Perfect” spitter brings his usually sharp street wordplay and particularly marks the differences between his beginning and his current form, whereas the “Mercury Thermometers” beatsmith employs a grand and triumphantly harmonic vocal sample with a dry and simple drum break. It’s a powerful combo from Boldy James and Conductor Williams, setting a lavish and tender tone without compromising its grittiness.
