$uicideboy$ Go Off On “New World Depression” Record “The Thin Grey Line”

The $uicideboy$ are always giving their fans reasons to be hyped beyond belief. The New Orleans, Louisiana underground rap duo have accumulated such a massive following that classifying them as such feels wrong. However, the $uicideboy$ have embraced that persona over the course of their career, even acknowledging it on their new single “The Thin Grey Line”. This is the third in a line of promotional cuts from their upcoming record New World Depression.

It will be their first full-length effort since 2022’s DIRTIESTNASTIEST$UICIDE and the rollout began back in late March. “Us Vs. Them”, the grim and grimy boom-bap lead single produced by $crim, has become quickly beloved by the fans. In fact, it has piled up over 35 million streams in just less than two months. Then, on April 19, $uicideboy$ delivered the lengthy title “Are You Going to See the Rose in the Vase, or the Dust on the Table”.

Now, with the album supposedly going to be due on June 14, the boy$ are back once again with “The Thin Grey Line.” Listeners are already messing with this one too, especially due to $crim’s beat and rapping on the backend. The former is dark, as per usual, but the tones looming in the background are eerie and addicting. Even though the track is just 1:45, the duo makes the most of their scant runtime.

Southside Taps LUCKI For Druggy Album Cut “Elegant”

When you think of all-time great trap producers, Southside is one of just a few to throw into that conversation. The Neptune, New Jersey native has worked with basically anyone in his field of expertise that you could imagine. Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, the list goes on. But the artist he is working with this time around is someone totally new and maybe a little unexpected. For this latest Southside single “Elegant,” the veteran is working alongside LUCKI.

“Elegant” is one of a few promotional tracks for the producer’s upcoming album. The current hope is that the project will be out sometime in June. This tape has been in the works for just over two years, with “Hold That Heat” featuring Travis and Future being the lead single and dropping in April 2022. Following that would be “Gimme Da Lite” featuring Lil Yachty, which released in December of last year. Then, before “Elegant” took the title for the most recent promo cut, “President” with Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely was our last taste of the record.

While the duo of Southside and LUCKI is intriguing, most fans have not been leaving glowing reviews of their work. Our Generation Music reshared “Elegant” on their Instagram page and listeners were not feeling the druggy flow from LUCKI and essentially a copy and paste beat from Southside. “This n**** Southside like nba 2k same beat every time but n****s still gonna cop … s*** so played,” one user writes. “Bro he need to stop with this voice man,” another adds. Still though, do not let the poor reception discourage you, give the track a try above.

YG Claims There’s A Lot Of “Weird” Rappers On “Just Re’d Up 3” Single

YG has had some fans excited over the last few months with a new project that is coming soon. That would happen to be Just Re’d Up 3, the third entry in the series. The Compton, California veteran is continuing the saga of projects 11 years after the second one released in 2013. Its origins trace back to 2011, though. However, for number three, YG is not labeling it as a mixtape, rather a studio album. YG formally announced the record across his social media platforms a few days ago, revealing the cover in progress and estimated drop date. Now, YG is back with its third single “Weird.”

This track follows up on the late April release “KNOCKA,” as well as the 2022 lead single “Miss My Dawgs” with Lil Wayne. YG has been straying away from the G-funk and West Coast hip-hop sounds and opting for more straight-line trap cuts. “KNOCKA” had some elements of his OG style, though, especially with the sample flip. But “Weird” focuses on his older sound, and its sounds like something that would have landed on My Krazy Life.

On this track, YG is claiming that a lot of people, including unnamed rappers are oddballs. Rich The Kid Finally Releases “Band Man” Along With Peso Pluma Collab “Gimme A Second”

Rich The Kid is the midst of pretty big comeback. The Queens, New York rapper is still riding high off being on one of the biggest records of 2024. That of course is “CARNIVAL” off VULTURES 1. For some, the track came and went. But there is no denying that it was being played everywhere at the time of its release. Now, we are gearing up for Rich The Kid to make his solo return possibly sometime this summer with Life’s a Gamble.

After some pretty underwhelming projects, namely BOSS MAN and Trust Fund Babies, it is clear that he is going big or going home on his third album. Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West are the executive producers and rumors say there will be a crazy number of features. One of those we know now, as Peso Pluma makes an appearance on “Gimme A Second.” This one of two singles that Rich has put out, with the long-awaited “Band Man” being released in unison.

Both tracks do not really stand out from a lyrical perspective, even though Rich has never been seen as a wordsmith. But where both singles shine are production wise, perhaps to no surprise. DJ Durel, “Gimme A Second”, and d.a. got that dope, “Band Man”, both lay down some tight trap instrumentals. Each one has a distinctive vibe and overall carry the tracks. However, we have to give credit to Peso Pluma, as he does bring an animated performance.

Central Cee & Lil Baby Go “BAND4BAND” On Aggressive Drill Banger

You CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS ever. That is certainly the motto that Central Cee has taken up ever since the release of 23 back in 2022. The Shepard’s Bush, London drill rapper has billed himself as one of the UK’s biggest voices over the last few years. He has done so by creating catchy bangers like “Doja” and “Sprinter.” Additionally, you can attribute his success due to his crossovers with the likes of J. Cole, Drake, The Kid LAROI, PinkPantheress, and more.

While singles and features are great, fans, and us at HNHH alike, are still waiting on a new project from Cench. That could be happening sometime this year, with CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS being the speculated title. There is no confirmed information that it will happen this year, but we feel the chance is strong. Cee has been quite active in 2024, dropping his take on R&B with “I Will,” as well as a “CC FREESTYLE,” which has recently been removed from his YouTube page.

His third effort, “BAND4BAND,” sees him and first-time collaborator Lil Baby display seamless chemistry. Metro Boomin Reveals That He Is “Cooking Up” With The Weeknd On Singer’s Next Album

It is almost impossible to find a steadier duo than Metro Boomin and The Weeknd. Of course, when you think of the St. Louis producer’s top collaborators, your brain automatically goes to names like Future and 21 Savage. But we would like to argue to that even though they have more experience together, Metro and Abel have never missed. Ever since 2015’s “Low Life” off of Future’s EVOL tape, they have gone on to forge some amazing chemistry. Metro Boomin and The Weeknd really hit their stride when they worked on the R&B icon’s 2020 album, After Hours.

Together they created dark, melodic, dreamy, and intoxicating cuts like “Heartless,” “Until I Bleed Out,” “Faith,” and more. Additionally, Metro also did some work on Starboy, as well as several cuts from The Weeknd’s HBO show The Idol. During that time, they collaborated on “Double Fantasy,” “Popular,” “Take Me Back,” among others. After Abel went full synth pop on his last full-length Dawn FM, the hitmaking duo separated for about year. However, they came back to flip Mario’s classic “I Don’t Wanna Know” with “Creepin’” on HEROES & VILLAINS.

Metro Says He’s Got More Heat In The Vault With The Weeknd

Finally, they kept the hot streak going on Metro and Future’s sister records WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. CyHi, formerly known as CyHi The Prynce, has got to be one of the rap game’s most unheralded lyricists. He does not drop all that often, which probably hurts his case. But he is without a doubt one of the sharpest writers of the last 10 years at least. Recently, CyHi stopped by for an “On The Radar” freestyle, to remind everyone how special he is.

The Georgia-born rapper and songwriter stepped up to the mic to give us bar after bar for five minutes straight. Outside of his effortless rapping, CyHi impressively switches up his style when the beat transitions halfway through. On the first half, the No Dope On Sundays MC spits over a more hype instrumental, whereas the backend strips things back and slows down. Hopefully, fans will get this type of dynamic spitting on his forthcoming record.

Common Slices & Dices A Killer Boom-Bap Beat From Pete Rock On “Wise Up”

Outside of that we do not have a ton of information on the record just yet. However, what we can reveal is that Common and Pete are titling this project The Auditorium and that the lead single is here! Just moments ago, the 90’s icons released “Wise Up” with a beautifully shot music video. If the chorus sample sounds familiar to any hip-hop heads out there, it is because Pete flipped MC Shan’s “The Bridge.”

KAYTRANADA Releases Extended Album Version Of “Lover/Friend” With Rochelle Jordan

KAYTRANADA is one of the very best producers of this generation. A big reason why he has built out such a great career is because of his ability to be a chameleon. He can effortlessly blend into almost any genre imaginable and it why we are so thrilled for his next full-length. KAYTRANADA will be coming through with his first solo album since 2019’s BUBBA during the first full week of June. It will be titled Timeless, and you can stream it on the 7th.

Of course, he did come through with the collaborative effort KAYTRAMINE during the summer of 2023 with rapper and singer Amine. But ending this solo drought is a big deal and the Haitian-Canadian producer is celebrating it by going all out with the features. According to Genius, he is grabbing guests like Don Toliver, Tinashe, Anderson .Paak, SiR, Childish Gambino, and more. With all of the incredible firepower, this is sure to be one of the best summer albums of the year.

But before we get the LP, KAYTRANADA has a single to bring out first. It is titled “Lover/Friend,” and that name might sound familiar to you. The Rochelle Jordan collab was a part of a four-track EP that released at the end of November 2023. It included the other eventual promotional single “Stuntin” with Channel Tres, as well as each track’s instrumentals. So, what is the reason for the reissue of “Lover/Friend?” This is the extended album version, as the single edition was 3:32. This update provides an extra 47 seconds and has slightly different mixing. You can hear what we mean by checking it out above.

Hit-Boy, Big Hit, & The Alchemist Link With HitgirlLena For “Black & Whites” Single “Gank Move”

Hit-Boy, Big Hit, and The Alchemist have been hyping up their forthcoming collaborative title Black & Whites over the month of May. They have been doing a masterful job at doing so in our eyes. The legendary trio put together a hilarious trailer by calling back to the 90s comedy film Office Space. They recreated the memorable printer smashing scene nearly to a tee and it was a blast to watch. On top of that, Hit-Boy and his crew have put out some solid singles for the project, including this most recent one, “Gank Move.”

This is now marks the third promotional track we have gotten in the last three weeks. Firstly, The father/son duo and Uncle Al dropped “Foreclosure” just a day after the teaser trailer. Second was the self-titled cut, which saw Al and Big Hit lyrically spar effectively. Now, we have “Gank Move,” which did not get any promotion from any of the album’s creators.

What the previous two offerings had in common was zero inclusion from any guests. However, that all changes this time around, as HitgirlLena joins the fray. This collab appears to have been coming at some point, as evidenced by her Instagram page.
