The Chicago Police Department just released Punchmade Dev’s mugshot following his arrest on weapons charges and an obstructed front windshield. It’s unclear what the particular heft behind each of these booking reasons is as of writing this article, but we can’t imagine he’s looking forward to finding out. For those unaware, the Chicago rapper previously faced a police investigation for a worrisome song and music video. His track “Wire Fraud Tutorial” is pretty self-explanatory, and YouTube ended up taking the visual down at the behest of law enforcement. The YouTube star tried to speak to the platform about getting his video restored, but it was to no avail.

Furthermore, it’s unclear whether or not this has anything to do with this recent arrest, as the charges seem unrelated at first glance. However, surely the coming weeks will provide at least some updates on whether police investigations actually resulted in something. Punchmade Dev allegedly claimed to have access to Adin Ross’ bank account, which can’t be good considering the streamer’s tighter pockets as of late. Maybe this booking will simply exacerbate the investigation into him rather than take priority over it.

Of course, it’s still too early in this case to call anything, especially since it’s not the most visible or viral case right now. We wouldn’t expect it to reach YSL RICO levels of visibility, but “Wire Fraud Tutorial” went pretty wild in social media circles and among underground rap fans. Regardless of all that, Punchmade Dev looks quite tranquil in his mugshot, so maybe he brushed off these charges and anticipates he will see a prompt release. Only time will tell, but the situation would be wildly different if he did time for wire fraud.

Meanwhile, this is unfortunately a page in the book of Chicago hip-hop’s run-ins with the law, many of which are due to systemic issues. We’re not equating this case to that, but it’s a sadly difficult legacy for the scene to reckon with. Hopefully in this situation, we can get some more clarity and get answers to the controversy that the “Wire Fraud Tutorial” inspired a couple of months ago. As such, it seems like the blink-182 legend’s daughter is moving on from her previous fling with DD Osama.

Furthermore, this is just the latest Internet discussion around Alabama Barker, whose high family profile and career moves have drawn as much positive attention as negative. “I think her rap career is amazing,” Alabama Barker’s mother told Page Six. “My kids were raised on a tour bus from the time they were born. Every creed, every race is going to love hip-hop and rap that’s not gonna change. So for me it is a very natural progression for [Alabama], because she’s been in the studio with her father with the greatest musicians in the world.” Also, she believes that Alabama holds a deep respect for hip-hop that Travis wouldn’t let her profit from if it wasn’t genuine.

“They literally travelled the world numerous times over with some of the biggest musicians, rap artists and hip-hop artists in the world,” Barker’s mother continued. “[For Alabama’s] generation right now the highest genre of music is hip-hop and rap.” We’ll see if her and Lil Darius become the next big hip-hop couple. During a recent TikTok live stream, 10-year-old North West revealed that she’s been diagnosed with dyslexia. “Guys, I have dyslexia,” she told viewers. “Do you even know what that is?” Her mom, Kim Kardashian, made note of how open she was being during the livestream. “Northie, you are sure spilling the tea on here,” she explained.

While North seemed to have no problem sharing that she has dyslexia, her mother ended the stream shortly after the reveal. According to her, she makes a conscious effort to keep her children’s personal issues out of the spotlight. “I am going to get off this Live right now because you are just saying way too much,” she said. “I purposely don’t talk about stuff that you are going through.” North is certainly no stranger to TikTok, and this isn’t the first time Kim intervened after feeling like she went too far.

Over the summer, the SKIMS founder admitted that after North shared a video dancing along to Ice Spice’s track with PinkPantheress, “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2,” she decided to take the video down. “The Ice Spice videos, she said, ‘Mommy, can I post this?’” Kim recalled. “I was out of town, so I had my… nanny was there [and] allowed it. And as soon as I saw the words and everything, I was like, ‘Oh, no no. We’re taking this down.’ She totally understood. So, I think that’s the trial and error sometimes.”

Kim went on to reference North’s father, Kanye West, claiming that he didn’t want his daughter on the app. “And, you know, then I saw on the Internet, it’s like, ‘Kanye was right.’ You know? And maybe he was, you know?” she explained. “In that instance. But in the creative side where she loves making slime videos and doing her little hair tutorials, I will fight for her to be creative in those ways. So, it’s always a compromise. “‘SkeeYee.’ That’s when like, you see a cute girl or somebody with a big booty, or you’re tryin’ to holler at somebody,” she begins. “They call that the ‘geek call.’” Sexyy Red continues, “a geek is a crackhead, a dope fiend.” Luckily, curious fans now have a little more insight on the catchy song, and St. Louis slang. Elsewhere in the interview, she also revealed the most romantic gesture she’s ever received from a man. She described being swept off of her feet when a boyfriend robbed someone and gave her $13 he stole. King Von’s upcoming posthumous album Grandson may be a strong point of anticipation for fans, but to be fair, many of them also felt skeptical of a release beyond his lifetime. That being said, most of his fanbase thinks that regardless, this will be a well-curated and respectful homage to Von’s vision and artistry. After all, his team and estate took some time between his death, his first posthumous release, 2022’s What It Means To Be King, and this new project. What’s more is that, now that we have Grandson‘s official tracklist, hype for it came more naturally. Moreover, the album contains 17 tracks and a welcome list of featured guests.

With these teasers in mind, this is shaping up to be a very solid offering from the late and legendary MC.

Meanwhile, even though that skepticism is there concerning the posthumous Grandson, it all comes down to the execution. As such, there’s a unique, somber and tragic form of pressure on this album to deliver and do right by his memory.
