Doja Cat Responds To Criticism Of The Artwork For “Masc”: “Let’s Move Forward”

Doja Cat thinks the criticism of her cover artwork for her upcoming single is childish. Venting about comments she’s received about the reveal on social media, she explained that the photo features the hair on the top of her head and not “pubic hair” or “sheep’s wool.”

“I had a photographer take a picture of the top of my head,” Doja explained. “And we blew it up and we made it so that my album cover is my hair. So my hair, to describe it, is 4C hair texture. My hair is just 4C. I’m seeing a consistent pattern in my comment section of people saying is my hair pubic hair? Is it carpet or is it sheep’s wool? And it’s not even questions…some people are being like that’s what it is. But like people comparing my hair to sheep, and pubes and carpet and popcorn and s*** like that.”

“Let’s move forward. Let’s grow.” she concluded. “Cause I can’t tell you what to do, I’m not your f***ing parents. Like pubic hair? Really? That’s where we stand.” Many of her fans came to her defense when The Shade Room shared the comments on Instagram. “It’s her white fans being anti black forgetting she’s a black woman,” one user wrote. Another wrote: “I think important thing here is AN ALBUM IS ON THE WAY. Cause she just don’t miss.”

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign‘s “Vultures” Artwork Traced To 19th Century Painter Caspar David Friedrich

The origins of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s cover artwork for their new collaborative album, Vultures, can be traced back to the renowned 19th century painter, Caspar David Friedrich. Playboi Carti shared the cover in a post on his Instagram Story, earlier this week. It appears to feature a reworking of Friedrich’s Landscape with Graves.

Friedrich is best known for his rich landscapes in which he typically silhouettes a protagonist against a vast backdrop. His most notable works include Chalk Cliffs on Rügen (1818) and Wanderer above the Sea of Fog (1818).

Nicki Minaj Shares “Pink Friday 2” Cover, Says It’s One Of Two

Nicki Minaj is not letting up on keeping the hype for Pink Friday 2 at astronomical levels, with new updates coming out seemingly every week. Recently, the Queen released her first single specifically part of this new album’s rollout, “Last Time I Saw You.” Moreover, the pop fusion cut’s been heavy in fan rotation since its release, and this plus the project’s title hints at a revitalization of what makes her such a unique voice in music. Die-hards probably thought that this would be enough to carry them home to the LP’s November 2023 release date. However, given that Nicki is always looking to one-up herself, they have never been happier to be so wrong.

Furthermore, Nicki Minaj just unveiled the album cover for Pink Friday 2. Not only that, but the Trinidadian MC also revealed that it’s one of two album covers, and we assume that this is the main one for use on streaming services. Maybe it isn’t, but either way, it’s exciting to see that she’s going to take advantage of a lot of different artwork and mediums to express this new phase. After all, if Travis Scott can release five different covers for UTOPIA‘s physical releases, why shouldn’t the Barb have her fun, too?

Nicki Minaj Unveils One Of Two Album Covers For Pink Friday 2

What’s more is that even rumors and unconfirmed assumptions are hyping fans up wildly on social media. For example, while celebrating her latest single going number one on iTunes in 37 different countries, the 40-year-old hinted at something special for next year. “Giving a big virtual hug to all these countries,” Nicki Minaj tweeted. “Omg can’t wait to see you guys on TOUR next year. #LastTimeISawYou seems like it was decades ago~ and seeing some of you for the first time ever.”

Meanwhile, now the question is what else she’ll energize fans with when it comes to Pink Friday 2. There might be feature announcements, promo opportunities, more snippets, and a whole slew of other possibilities. Even if she decides to stay low-key until the album drops, there’s enough anticipation to fuel a rocketship. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nicki Minaj.

Pop Smoke Mural Gets A Much-Needed Update

Pop Smoke was an artist that was set to take the industry by storm. With this untimely passing, came many fans and artists alike that wanted to honor his legacy. In the wake of his passing, one mural, in particular, garnered the internet’s attention. A botched mural of Pop Smoke had been found, setting the entire internet ablaze. Many users didn’t hold back describing their distaste for the mural saying it was an embarrassment to the late rapper. It appears that someone has tried to remedy this egregious act.

The original botched mural that went viral at Pop Smokes Exotic was redone recently, but fans and critics had some choice words for the piece. Some fans commented saying “just take the walls down,” while others (still disappointed) gave some words of encouragement. “Bro needs to learn about proportions, a basic art technique, but it looks much better,” said one commenter. As a Pop Smoke fan, the mural definitely looks better than what it was. However, it’s not the most accurate depiction of the late rapper. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen botched artwork of some our biggest celebrities.

Pop Smoke’s Mural Goes Viral(Again)

The last time we saw botched art go viral was when the infamous Cristiano Ronaldo bust surfaced. Many Ronaldo and sports fans alike were left stunned at the completely inaccurate depiction of the soccer legend. Pop Smoke meant a lot to the city of New York, but he was also ushering a new wave into the industry. It was as if we were seeing a second coming of Fifty Cent (minus all the beef). So much so, even Fif could see the resemblance between the two New York natives.

You never want to see an artist lose their life so soon. Especially one as talented as Pop. Thanks to Pop Smoke, we all got to Meet the Woo with his trademark voice, grimy raps, and infectious New York drill sound. New York drill was put on the map the moment Pop Smoke stepped foot on the scene. It was a sound that gave us all a newfound energy. Although it’s tragic what happened to Pop Smoke, it’s great to see his memory kept alive in all forms of art. What do you think of the Pop Smoke mural? Did they get it right? Let us know below!

North West Flexes Skills & Draws Ice Spice

Kim Kardashian previously spoke about North West’s artistic skills, and the mom-daughter duo is showing off the youngster’s talents. Kim and North have regularly made appearances on social media, specifically TikTok, where they post silly videos for fans. In a recent upload, North revealed her portrait of Ice Spice from a photo she pulled from the internet.

Considering she’s only nine years old, young North didn’t do half bad with her sketch. Additionally, we can only imagine Ice Spice’s response to having one of the most famous kids in the world casually drawing your image for their millions of followers. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, North was more than happy with the final product.

Back in February 2022, Kim showed off some of her daughter’s other art, including her charcoal drawing that expressed North’s “emo phase.” There was also a snowcapped mountain and a colorful wolf. It was later revealed that North was studying with a private teacher—no surprises there.

“I love seeing, like, the personality and the moods and everything that she goes through and just feel like it’s really been an amazing hobby of hers,” Kim said at the time. When the public noted North’s work mirrored others found online, a former student chimed in. It was noted that the teacher uses the same pictures to instruct all of her young students. Kardashian has opted to steer clear of critics and, instead, nurtured her daughter’s aspirations.

Meanwhile, Kim and North’s social media displays aren’t always welcomed by Kanye West. We may not have heard much from Ye in recent weeks, but there was a time when he made it clear that he didn’t want his daughter on TikTok. The complaint wasn’t lost on Kim, but she and North have pushed forward, regardless. These days, it seems that Kanye has conceded to seeing his daughter online. We haven’t heard much from him since his rumored wedding to Bianca Censori. Yet, it was speculated that West is laying low until he unveils his plans for the U.S. 2024 Presidential Election.
