Doja Cat Responds To Criticism Of The Artwork For “Masc”: “Let’s Move Forward”

Doja Cat thinks the criticism of her cover artwork for her upcoming single is childish. Venting about comments she’s received about the reveal on social media, she explained that the photo features the hair on the top of her head and not “pubic hair” or “sheep’s wool.”

“I had a photographer take a picture of the top of my head,” Doja explained. “And we blew it up and we made it so that my album cover is my hair. So my hair, to describe it, is 4C hair texture. My hair is just 4C. I’m seeing a consistent pattern in my comment section of people saying is my hair pubic hair? Is it carpet or is it sheep’s wool? And it’s not even questions…some people are being like that’s what it is. But like people comparing my hair to sheep, and pubes and carpet and popcorn and s*** like that.”

“Let’s move forward. Let’s grow.” she concluded. “Cause I can’t tell you what to do, I’m not your f***ing parents. Like pubic hair? Really? That’s where we stand.” Many of her fans came to her defense when The Shade Room shared the comments on Instagram. “It’s her white fans being anti black forgetting she’s a black woman,” one user wrote. Another wrote: “I think important thing here is AN ALBUM IS ON THE WAY. Cause she just don’t miss.”

Ty Dolla Sign Clarifies “Vultures 2” Album Cover

Ty Dolla $ign has revealed that he is the individual who appears on the cover of Vultures 2. A masked Ty stands against the same background used for the cover of Vultures 1. Furthermore, Ty is seen holding a picture of his incarcerated brother.

Kanye West posted the cover earlier this weekend. However, fans were not overly receptive to an album cover with no album to listen to. “Vultures 2 or GTA 6 dropping first?” asked one fan, referencing the equally tortured development of Rockstar’s open-world game. For context, GTA 6 is scheduled to drop in 2025. “Blud hasn’t mixed/mastered a single track from Vultures 2 yet,” theorized another fan. Despite this, some fans were excited and pointed to next week’s Rolling Loud California, despite West and Ty Dolla $ign not being listed as performers at the event. When do you think Vultures 2 will finally drop? Let us know in the comments.

Kanye West’s “Carnival” Gets Intense Cover Art

Furthermore, Kanye has gone pretty hard with the cover art for the long-awaited Vultures project. Last month, West unveiled the intense cover art for “Carnival”, one of the standout tracks from Vultures 1. Designed by noted Canadian artist Jon Rafman, the cover art for “Carnival” depicts a close-up of a screaming and bloodied skinhead. Rafman also created the AI-generated music video for “Vultures (Havoc Version)” which was released alongside the album.

“Carnival” features Playboi Carti and Rich the Kid. As mentioned, it is widely considered one of the best tracks on Vultures 1. Many people have already called it the best song of 2024. However, the song proved controversial even before it was released. A version heard at a listening party in Chicago earned the ire of Ozzy Osbourne due to an uncleared sample of Black Sabbath. A later version at a Long Island listening party used a sample of Kanye’s “Hell of a life”, which interpolates the same Black Sabbath song.

ScHoolboy Q Shares The Very Literal Artwork For His New Album “Blue Lips”

Fans of Top Dawg Entertainment are in for a major 2024. During a special 10th anniversary performance for Isaiah Rashad’s Cilvia Demo they handed out papers that made some bold claims. They promised that nearly every single artist on the label and even some new ones they haven revealed yet would be releasing new projects this year. Shortly after that news hit ScHoolboy Q revealed that he would be the first one out the gate.

He announced his new album Blue Lips. It’s his first studio album since 2019 when he dropped CrasH Talk, which was met mostly with shrugs from fans and critics. That hasn’t been the case with the new material leading up to Blue Lips. Earlier this month Q dropped a pair of singles that gave fans their first taste of the new album. The two songs are called “Blueslides” and “Back In Love” and show off two very different styles. That was also the case with the newest single “Yeern 101” which dropped earlier this week. The album is due out in early March and Q just officially revealed the artwork attached to the record. Check out the newly unveiled album cover below.

ScHoolboy Q’s New Album Cover

For an album called Blue Lips the artwork is impressively literal. It features a photograph of some very blue lips, presumably ScHoolboy Q’s himself. The album cover also features a hilariously placed parental advisory warning right in the center of the mouth and scribbled text of the album’s title in the bottom left corner.

In the replies fans reacted to the thought of having to look at that cover while listening to the album. “Honestly I kinda don’t like it but I don’t wanna be looking at some gap teeth while listening,” one of the top replies reads. What do you think of the artwork from ScHoolboy Q’s new album Blue Lips? Are you looking forward to the album dropping next month? Let us know in the comment section below.

North West Draws Kanye West’s “Vultures 1” Album Cover, Reveals Her Favorite Song On The Album

North West has been in the news quite a bit over these past few days. Overall, a lot of this stems from the fact that she was on her father’s new album Vultures 1. She can be found on the track “Talking” where she delivers her debut rap verse. Although it may not be extremely lyrical, some have seen it as the highlight of the album. After all, North is a lot like her father in many respects, and fans think she can be a superstar one day. If anything, this is her first step to getting on that trajectory.

Vultures 1 has certainly been through the wringer as of late. There has been a whole lot of drama around the album, especially as it pertains to distribution. For instance, the album was taken off Apple Music. However, it was eventually put back on the platform fairly soon after. Now, North West is showing her appreciation towards the album. In a journal, North revealed what she appreciates the most right now. Of course, all of her answers were Vultures 1 related. Moreover, she even delivered a drawing of the album cover.

Kanye West & Bianca Censori Phone Backgrounds Revealed To Be “Vultures 1” Teaser

With the release of Vultures 1, an Instagram post from Kanye West earlier this year suddenly makes a lot more sense. The album cover art shows a scantily-clad woman, presumably Bianca Censori, standing with her back to the camera and facing a man dressed like Jason Vorhees. While not confirmed, it is fairly safe to assume that the man is Kanye. Are you a fan of the cover art? Let us know in the comments.

Last week, Kanye posted an image to his Instagram story of himself and Censori showing off their respective phone backgrounds. West’s was a picture of Censori wearing a leather bikini. Meanwhile, Censori’s was a picture of someone dressed as Jason Vorhees. While Censori appears to be topless on the cover of Vultures 1, it is now relatively evident that the innocuous photo was a backdoor teaser for the cover art.

Rich The Kid Calls Kanye West “The GOAT”

Meanwhile, Kanye collaborator Rich the Kid recently had some high praise for the controversial rapper. “He is the GOAT, no debate,” Rich told Baller Alert in Vegas. It’s a fitting declaration as Rich recently collabed with Kanye and Playboi Carti for “Carnival”, which appears on the now-released Vultures I. “Carnival” also caused some pre-release controversy as Ozzy Osbourne claimed that the song contained an uncleared Black Sabbath sample.

Furthermore, the impromptu interview also saw Rich reveal that he is planning to drop a massive bet on the Super Bowl. Rich said he was going to place a $1 million bet on Sunday’s game. The Chiefs and 49ers face off in Vegas in a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl. An estimated $23.1 billion has been bet on the matchup. That eclipses the estimated $16B put down on bets for last year’s game between the Chiefs and Eagles. However, Rich refused to say which team he was putting his money on. Born and raised in Queens, it’s hard to say which team Rich will be backing.
