Lil Durk has a lot to be happy about right now. The longtime Chicago rapper won his first-ever GRAMMY for “All My Life” in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category. Then, not too long after that, his friend and collaborator, Drake, revealed that he was added to the remainder of the It’s All A Blur – Big As The What? Tour. On top of that, his collaborations in 2024 have been solid as well.

Even with all of that success going on, he still has a bone to pick with the fans. Lil Durk walked down to the stage while someone walked behind him and held up a sign saying, ” The more y’all leak, the longer it takes.” While his music has been released early by eager supporters, Durk was being a hypocrite in this situation. While greeting the fans and heading down to perform, he was teasing an unreleased track.

DJ Akademiks shared the video on his IG and expectedly, the comments section was having a field day. While there were some joking Durk was being hypocritical, most were also questioning who actually likes his music. The Weeknd Vaguely Teases New Album

The Weeknd needs no introduction at this point in his storied career. Canada’s own has done it all and he is a true global icon. A lot of music die-hards saw the potential in him after he came through with his debut project House of Balloons, in 2011. He then turned it into a trilogy with Thursday and Echoes Of Silence. Nine years later, The Weeknd would begin his second series with After Hours. The dark R&B tracks paired with the 80s pop hits, saw him hint at the direction he would eventually take a full dive into with Dawn FM.

While it did not feature global hits, it was The Weeknd’s most consistent project to date. There are just solid tracks throughout like “Gasoline,” “Sacrifice,” “Take My Breath,” “Out of Time,” and so many others. That 2022 release just turned two yesterday, January 7. That would also be the day that Abel decided to announce the third album in this series.

He did so on his social media accounts with the caption, “3️⃣.” The Weeknd shared the After Hours and Dawn FM covers, with the third image showing only a question mark. Tay Keith Hints At Dropping A Full Project With Key Glock: “We Got So Much Unreleased In The Vault”

Both Memphis natives just possess that secret sauce when it comes to crafting songs to get incredibly lit too. Both of these guys highly respect each other. It is a big reason why they have countless collaborations together. A few to name are “Ambition For Cash,” “Presidential Rolex,” and “Russian Cream.”

In 2023, Tay Keith and Key Glock put out their respective albums. “Mr. Glock” came through with Glockoma 2 and its deluxe. Additionally, he has Glocktober in the works with a few singles being released already. For Keith, he worked alongside Lil Darius for a 14-song tape, Yung N Turnt. Since they were so busy last year, this could be the time for both of these superstars to come together for an LP of their own.

Playboi Carti Reveals Some Texts From Travis Scott After “BACKR00MS” Release

Playboi Carti is getting a lot of attention and for good reason. His eagerly awaited new album Music is slated for release sometime this year and every single for it has been well received. The most recent of them was “BACKR00MS” which just came out last night at 9:30 p.m. It features Travis Scott and production from Cardo, as well as Ojivolta once again. In the first 13 minutes or so of the song’s premiere on YouTube, it already had over 227,000 views.

Now, that count is up to 4.4 million, and is currently the number one video on YouTube’s trending list. Carti is really playing into his darker voice on it and Travis brought on a nice verse on the backend. In the midst of all of the hype, La Flame shot a text over to Carti. It read, “We goin brazy twin. I had to slide on the kids. Otw back 2nite.”

Beats have been lost, but nothing is preventing the duo from delivering more classics together. She says, “So proud of my baby!! Going against all odds… leaving his label, starting fresh, staying focused determined and not letting nothing break him… he did that! [red heart emoji] MY TURN.” While it great to see the overwhelming support, the more juicy part of that tweet are those last two words in all caps. Considering the context of the tweet, Cardi B is seemingly referring to it being her turn to drop her sophomore tape.

They delivered their genre-pushing record the Pink Tape to many mixed reviews. Since the release, Lil Uzi Vert promised that if their latest record went number one on the Billboard chart, a new project would come out. Well, the fans responded, as it reached that mark. Now, we are anxiously waiting yet again for either Barter 16 or Luv Is Rage 3. Uzi has already put out a possible track for the latter of the two with “NFL” a few weeks ago on YouTube.

ASAP Rocky Declares That “DON’T BE DUMB” Will Be His Best Album Yet

ASAP Rocky is one of the few artists who continues to hold back from making a comeback. A few other artists who have not dropped in over five years include his significant other, Rihanna, and Frank Ocean, among others. Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar were both in that same boat too. However, they finally delivered with their two respective efforts. Most of the music community is now waiting for Rocky to do the same. While he has been keeping busy as of late with singles and features. It was on May 25, 2018, that we got listen to a full body of work from the New Yorker.

TESTING was the name of the project and its title definitely lived up to the name. Rocky experimented a ton sonically, having split fans’ and critics’ opinions in half. After that things slowed down a bit for him, but he has been picking up productivity. Other than the tracks mentioned we really do not know when the project is coming or what sort of direction ASAP is going in. He talked about the project and had this to say. “I’ve been really experimenting as usual and what I like about this is it feels like my best work yet.” He further teases fans, saying, “I want to leave expectations wide and open. I don’t want to tell you what to expect. I just want people to experience it how they do naturally.” Well, he is certainly doing a great job of that. But, we could be getting a further development of what TESTING was all about.
