Sure, this doesn’t reinvent the wheel when it comes to the Hood Hottest Princess, but it’s exactly the kind of music that fans loved and expected. Hopefully Sexyy Red takes her time to fully craft it before dropping, as she’s got a lot on her plate for this year. The 25-year-old is one of the performers slated for The Roots Picnic, which raised many fans’ eyebrows. After all, many probably didn’t expect Questlove to be a “Pound Town” resident, but a good festival lineup should always be diverse and timely, right?

J. Cole Shares Snippet Of New Song “Might Delete Later”

Fans of J. Cole are hoping that it’s a big year for the rapper. He hasn’t released a new project since 2021’s The Off-Season. But it’s been even longer that he’s been teasing a new album called The Fall Off. Despite his time away from releasing much of his own material he’s appeared on some high-profile features. Last year he scored his first ever number one hit by teaming up with Drake for the song “First Person Shooter.” He also featured on another one of the biggest rap hits of the year, Lil Durk’s “All My Life” which won the Grammys for Best Melodic Rap Performance earlier this month.

But now Cole appears to be shifting his focus back to his own material. Earlier today he shared a black and white video teasing some new music that could be called “Might Delete Later.” In the video he shares two minutes of a song with an accompanying video that sees him rapping in various locations around a hotel. In the song itself he addresses those asking him for favors who haven’t done anything to earn them. The song starts off with just a spare piano instrumental before drums eventually kick in. But shortly after Cole spits a bar about being interrupted by the cops after which he is literally interrupted in the video. Check out the teaser below.

If J. Cole did drop new music soon he would have the perfect opportunity to debut it live. He’s currently on tour with Drake for the second leg of the It’s All A Blur tour. Kanye’s fans are stanning it, but there is a huge crowd that is not jiving with it. The lyrical content is perhaps one of the biggest gripes people have with the record, as well as some of the mixing. “BACK TO ME” is seen as a highlight for some, mainly due to the Freddie Gibbs feature. The production on the track is fairly lackluster. But, what if Kanye West, Freddie Gibbs, and The Alchemist were all on the track instead?

Well, according to HipHopDX, that exists in the music universe. There has been a snippet that is continuing to make the rounds on X. It only lasts for about nine seconds. However, in just that short time frame, this Ye and Gibbs collab sounds much more refined.

Latto is going to drop “Sunday Service,” a song that is already receiving a lot of buzz. It is quite impressive how much coverage it is getting even though it is not even out yet. The reason for that is because Latto could be getting ready to unleash on Ice Spice and a host of other fellow female MCs. It seems it is all but imminent, especially for Spice since she confirmed “Think U The S*** (Fart)” was a diss toward Latto.

Spice released it after seeing Latto’s “weak ass snippet.” That snippet was for the visuals of “Sunday Service,” which had Spice’s eyes covered with a black line in the backdrop for a particular shot. While that point was already established, Latto could be coming after others as well. Coi Leray, Nicki Minaj, Sexyy Red, Cardi B, and more join Ice Spice’s crossed-out eyes. But, this could be a terrific marketing tactic. Fans seem to think so as well. Why am I in the back of your weak a– snippet?” Spice off to the collection of shocked listeners.

This latest barrage from the Bronx rapper comes after she dropped “Think U The Shit (Fart)” in which she took direct shots at Latto. It’s still unclear what caused the beef to initially kick off. Ice Spice’s Reference-Filled Super Bowl Commercial May Include Ex Reveal

Meanwhile, beefing isn’t the only thing that Spice has been up to. Starry, the Pepsico-owned soda brand, recently dropped a teaser for their upcoming Super Bowl ad featuring Ice Spice. The 15-second clip is packed full of references, “Stop, you play too much,” Spice tells her off-camera date playfully, calling back to her signature lead-in of “Stop playing with them, RIOT”. Elsewhere, the aforementioned unseen date convinces Spice to him her iconic “grahhh”. However, most intriguingly of all, the teaser ends with Spice implying that she has just spotted her ex walk into the bar where she’s located.

The 24-year-old rapper has been fairly private about her dating life. She did confirm to the LA Times in October 2023 that she was in a relationship. However, it’s most likely that the full ad will see Spice’s ex being either a famous person or another soda that she ditched in favor of Starry. It’s unlikely that the tea is really going to be spilled about her dating life. Despite this, the full ad will drop on Super Bowl Sunday (February 11).

Metro Boomin recently took to social media to deliver some bittersweet news. Specifically, the news was for fans eagerly anticipating his joint project with Lil Durk. Despite having teased the collaboration for four years, Metro revealed that the much-anticipated project would not be seeing the light of day. In an announcement on Wednesday (January 24), Metro Boomin shared with fans that the collab project is not coming out. The Lil Durk collab project, which had been in the works for an extended period, was officially scrapped. Responding to a fan’s inquiry about the unreleased project, Metro disclosed that although the record was nearly complete. And the music was exceptional, a series of unfortunate leaks had derailed the entire venture.

“Why that tape with you and Durk never dropped? The leaks were too fire,” asked the fan. In response, Metro Boomin explained, “We had it bout ready and it was but the leaks ruined it.” The collaborative album, initially teased on Instagram in February 2020. Itseemingly titled No Auto, but it faced setbacks due to multiple songs being leaked. This included anticipated tracks like the Lil Baby collaboration “Project Baby,” “High Demand,” and “I Am No Auto,” being prematurely leaked.

Latto & Nicki Minaj Shade Rumors Continue With Former’s New Snippet

Another day, another chapter in the Nicki Minaj and Latto beef saga, one that keeps on giving despite both femcee’s efforts to reach across the aisle to other female artists. Moreover, this time around, it stems from the latter’s bar about “auntie hatin’, she burnt” on a new snippet of an upcoming collab with Anycia. Of course, this is just fan speculation, as there’s no shortage of alleged shots between these two and this is just as vague as the last couple of examples die-hards theorized. Still, it inspired as much debate as ever on social media, and continues the sad trend of always putting female rappers in a battlefield in ways that we don’t often do with male MCs.

Regardless, what’s done is done, and this feud was actually pretty direct at one point, originating over discrepancies in categorizations for award nominations that involved personal criticism from one to the other. As such, we can’t really blame fans for looking for these connections between Latto and Nicki Minaj, and they’ve even roped in plenty of other artists. For example, people think that Ice Spice has a feud with the 777 hitmaker, although that’s even more speculative and rumored than the battle with the Barbz. Whether there’s any weight behind this or not, another typical and unfortunate thing about these matchups is that, when fans pick a side, it’s hard for artists not to beef because of how much their supporters are feeding the narrative, and that goes for any artist in these situations.
