Tyler The Creator Seemingly Doubles Down On ian Criticism In New “CHROMAKOPIA” Snippet

Tyler The Creator is dropping his new album CHROMAKOPIA in less than 24 hours, and he’s still giving fans more material to hype them up even further. His latest is a snippet (or perhaps a full track? We’ll see…) titled “THOUGHT I WAS DEAD,” where he seems to make reference to his comments earlier this year about white rappers mocking hip-hop culture. “White boys mocking this s**t, and y’all mad at me? Y’all can suck my d**k,” the Hawthorne native rapped on the cut. Many fans online interpreted this criticism in a Maverick Carter interview as shots towards ian, although Tyler never named him. As such, this is still a pretty speculative narrative.

“This white kid, regular Caucasian man, and he’s, like, mocking Future and Gucci Mane. Like… rap music,” Tyler, The Creator told Maverick Carter earlier this year. “And people are like, ‘This s**t hard.’ […] This is, like… weird. Something about it don’t even sit well with me in comparison to someone like a Mac Miller or Eminem, who didn’t seem like they was mocking it. They had a genuine love for it, and they were still big.”

Tyler The Creator Seems To Address His Alleged ian Comments

While ian’s manager took this as a criticism of his client specifically, there’s still plausible deniability, even though the Internet already put two and two together and are running with this narrative. Still, neither Tyler, The Creator nor ian himself have clarified this outright, so maybe he’s talking about someone else or it’s not deep enough to really make a fuss over. Also, it’s curious that this is on what seems to be a CHROMAKOPIA song, as we don’t know when it was recorded or if this really responds to the Maverick Carter interview backlash.

Nevertheless, people have a lot of takes about this criticism, and feel free to make yours known down in the comments section below. In the meantime, Tyler, The Creator is probably getting ready for his CHROMAKOPIA listening event in Los Angeles later today (Sunday, October 27). As for ian, he recently dropped the Goodbye Horses album, another collection of trap bangers. We’ll see if there’s anything else to this already speculative story…

Drake Previews New Music At His 38th Birthday Bash: Watch

Today is Drake’s 38th birthday, and to celebrate, he hosted a birthday bash in Houston last night. Footage from the event is now making its rounds on Twitter/X, revealing some of what the Toronto-born hitmaker was up to. He was surrounded by friends and family, who sang to him, brought him a massive cake in the shape of his birth year, and more.

He even previewed some unreleased music at the party, including one song reportedly called “Plot Twist.” As expected, it’s earned mixed reactions from listeners. While some can’t wait for Drake to drop the full version, others insist he’s fallen off, and expected more from him following his battle with Kendrick Lamar. Of course, there’s also speculation that Drizzy takes shots at the Compton rapper towards the end of the snippet, though this is unconfirmed.

Drake Turns Up At His Houston Birthday Party

“His new stuff just doesn’t hit quite the same,” one Twitter/X user writes in DJ Akademiks’ replies. “This was the one I’ve been waiting for. Sounds like he’s about to start talking his sh*t on that beat switch,” another says. Obviously, the mixed reactions here are nothing new and are to be expected considering the past few months. He earned similar responses from listeners of his new Chino Pacas collab, and pretty much everything else he’s dropped following his feud with Kendrick.

Fortunately, Drake has also been receiving a lot of love from his fans and peers in honor of his birthday. Earlier today, for example, Sexyy Red wished him a happy birthday with a sweet Instagram post. “Happy Birthday to one of the nicest most humblest person I kno LOVE U BD ENJOY YO MONTH,” she wrote. Her post was so kind that it prompted rumors about their relationship status, though as far as the internet knows, they’re just friends. What do you think of Drake previewing new music at his birthday party? How is it sounding so far? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

F1 Team Uses Unreleased Kendrick Lamar Snippet In New Promo Video

The world is still waiting on Kendrick Lamar to drop new music. The Compton set the world on fire with “Not Like Us” and its accompanying video. Those who watched closely, though, know that Dot played a snippet of an unreleased song at the beginning of the video. The snippet was wildly catchy, and featured a sample of a classic 80s single. It’s been months without any update on the snippet, but that didn’t stop the Mercedes F1 team from using it to their advantage. The team weaved the snippet into a social media promo for their drivers.

The video, which was posted on Instagram, sees the Mercedes F1 team in action while Lamar raps. It’s a pretty slick melding of sight and sound. It may seem a bit random, combining racing with rap, but there’s actually a precedent with regards to Kendrick Lamar. Lewis Hamilton, the star driver on Mercedes, posed for a photoshoot in on October 14. The photoshoot saw the driver pose sitting down, front of a white and red flag. It was a striking pose on its own merits, but what really caught fans off guard is the tribute that was being paid to Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick Lamar Teased The Song In His Last Video

Hamilton’s pose and color scheme was a direct reference to Lamar’s Super Bowl announcement video. The Compton rapper confirmed he was playing the 2025 Halftime Show by posing with a football and sitting in front of a white and red flag. The irony is that Lewis Hamilton was actually linked to Kendrick Lamar’s opponent, Drake, during the start of the beef.

Chino Pacas Teases Snippet Of New Drake Collab “Modo Capone”

Drake’s assessment of young talent has been a controversial topic. He has proven to have a good eye when it comes to picking out artists before they make it big, and linking up for a collab. He did it with The Weeknd in 2011, and has kept it moving ever since. Some claim that these are instances of Drake being a culture vulture, a musical vampire, others praise his musical versatility and ability to co-sign. Chino Pacas is the latest example of this phenomenon.

Pacas has exploded over the last two years. He signed to Street Mob in 2023, and released his breakout single, “El Gordo Trae el Mando,” soon after. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and Drake made it clear he was rocking with the teen sensation. The 6 God walked out to an unreleased Chino Pacas tune during a 2024 appearance at a Houston rodeo. He’s set to appear on the single “Modo Capone,” which is on Pacas’ upcoming debut. And on October 10, a week before its release, we were given a snippet of the anticipated collab.

Chino Pacas Is Rumored To Sign A Label Deal With Drake

The snippet only lasts 28 seconds, and doesn’t include vocals from Drake or Chino Pacas. It does give fans, however, a feel for what “Modo Capone” is going to sound like. The instrumental is littered with hi hats and a busy synth line. It feels very moody and nocturnal, which is right in the Drake wheelhouse. It would not be surprising to find out that Drake’s longtime producer, Noah “40” Shebib, had a hand in the sound of “Modo Capone.” The instrumental also provides some insight into the rumors that Drake and Chino Pacas have a more substantial collab lined up.

JOP, a member of Fuerza Regida, claimed that Pacas has plans to sign a one album deal with Drake and OVO member Chubbs. The rapper announced that Drake and Chubbs are launching a brand new label. The label is reportedly called PFL, and Pacas is alleged to be the first artist to sign on. Neither Drake nor Pacas have spoken on the rumors. The latter, however, has spoken about how much he enjoys working with Drake. He also cited the Toronto rapper as a musical influence. We can’t wait to see what these two cook up for the fans.

Kid Cudi Follows Through With Release Of Chip Tha Ripper Collab “DONT WORRY”

Kid Cudi made a promise to fans earlier this month about releasing some new music. “DONT WORRY SEPT 18TH”, the Cleveland, Ohio native said on September 3 via X (formerly Twitter). Attached was a minute and change snippet of that exact song. This track has been floating around the internet for a little bit, with earlier variants of it including a long-time collaborator Chip Tha Ripper. As you can see in the aforementioned tweet, Kid Cudi had plans to drop “DONT WORRY” tomorrow. However, he decided to treat his supporters a day early because it’s out now on YouTube. It has an accompanying music video too, which looks to be filmed in New York.

Before the shots roll, a heartfelt message appears from The Cudster. In it, he thanks the citizens from there for being so welcoming early on in his music career. He writes, “I moved to NY in 2004. Over the years it became my second home. To the people of NY, this is my love letter to you. Thank you for always making me feel like family. I love you endlessly, enjoy. – Scott”. Then, it transitions into the hyped track and it delivers in a multitude of ways. Kid Cudi really brings back the first Man On The Moon era with “DONT WORRY”. From the sticky and spacey melody the instrumental creates, to the passionate rapping and singing from both MCs, it really hits you in the nostalgia bone. What’s also great about this release is that Cudi did tease a potential album for the fall, which would make it his third LP of the year. That time is approaching quickly, so hopefully that comes to fruition.

Future Treats Fans To Another Killer “Mixtape Pluto” Snippet With “Ski”

Future is bringing snippets back. The rapper followed more traditional rollouts for his Metro Boomin albums, but his upcoming solo venture has been different. Instead of dropping a lead single, and then a tracklist, Future has decided to drop one snippet after another. There have numerous snippets dropped over the last few weeks. Each of them have been accompanied by a music video. “Ski,” the snippet that Future dropped on September 16, follows suit.

“Ski” is about as close to Mixtape Pluto as Future has sounded since 2015. The rapper is really stripping away the melodic flourishes of his aforementioned Metro Boomin albums. Instead, he’s revived the trunk-rattling, minimalist sound he perfected with Dirty Sprite 2. The “Ski” snippet is only fifteen seconds long, but the music video goes a long way in furthering the Mixtape Pluto aesthetic. Its gritty, and the different settings looks gleefully sidestep glamour. There’s nothing pretty about Future decked out in all back, and looking menacing underneath a neon green light.

Future Offers Up Another Minimalist Banger

Future’s promotional decisions for Mixtape Pluto feel extremely pointed. The rapper may have crossed over to a level of success that few of his peers can match, but he’s not doing interviews or teasing huge collabs. He’s letting the music talk for itself, which is an approach he articulated during a profile with GQ in 2022. “I got here through music,” Future explained to the outlet. “I didn’t get here for having the best interviews. Other dudes in the world can have the best speech. They can do this in one take and it’d be perfect.”

While it’s safe to assume that Drake will not appear on Mixtape Pluto, Future has seemingly enlisted lots of veteran collaborators. Southside and Boi-1da have produced some of the teased snippets. There have also been snippets with confirmed guest features from Playboi Carti and Travis Scott. Both artists are set to drop new albums in 2024 as well, making their involvement with Future especially exciting. Hopefully we will see Pluto return the favor on Carti and Scott’s respective releases.

GloRilla Samples Boosie Badazz’s Iconic Song, “Wipe Me Down,” For New Snippet

GloRilla used Boosie Badazz’s iconic single, “Wipe Me Down,” for a new song that she teased on social media, earlier this week. In a reworking of the track, she raps about being from Memphis, shouts out CMG, and more.

The snippet has fans on social media stoked. In the comments section of a post from The Neighborhood Talk, one user wrote: “If she keeps making music like that, she will last a very long time. Glo makes club bangers for sure. She’s different & she’s herself… I’m ready to hear the album.” Others complained about the current prevalence of sampling. One user argued: “Like I really love BIG GLO but can we normalize this generation creating some new beats and material for the next generation to idolize because it seems like all everybody is doing is sampling and not being originals like thats what Made Missy, Busta, Aaliyah etc ICONIC.”

The “Wipe Me Down” sample isn’t the first time GloRilla and Boosie have shown support for one another. Back in 2023, Booise revealed that he named his dog after the up-and-coming rapper. “I named my dog GloRilla… Big Glo… Ole GloRilla, mane,” he said in a video from the time. Glo ended up responding by naming her pet lizard after the Louisiana legend. “Say hey to my new addition,” she told her fans in a video at the time while showing off her pet. “Hey, Boosie!”

GloRilla Samples Boosie For Her Latest Snippet

Despite the hype around the new snippet, Glo recently faced backlash for previewing another song on social media. Fans had been upset about her use of the R-word in that track. Check out the clip of GloRilla’s sampling Boosie on Instagram below. Be on the lookout for further updates on GloRilla as well as Boosie Badazz on HotNewHipHop.

Future And Travis Scott Teases New “Mixtape Pluto” Song “South Of France”

Future is locked in. The rapper has been teasing Mixtape Pluto for months, but the last few weeks have made it a reality. He put the album up for presale, unveiled the artwork, and dropped a snippet. It would be more than enough to generate interest for an album fans have wanted for what feels like forever. He didn’t stop there, though. Future decided to bless fans with another snippet on September 6. This time, the snippet came with a music video clip and a roster of A-list cameos. Oh, did we mention Travis Scott is on the song, too?

The new snippet is titled “South of France.” And true to its title, the music video appears to be set in the South of France. Future and Travis Scott can be seen recording the song, while cameos from artists who are rumored to be working on Mixtape Pluto get intercut. The snippet only lasts 45 seconds, but fans get to see Lil Baby, Southside and Wheezy pop up during the sessions. “South of France” sounds unfinished in its current. The mix is a little hollow, and the bass that drives so many Future bangers is a blown out. We can only assume the song will get cleaned up ahead of its official release.

Future Teased Some Of His Other Album Collaborators

Even in its rough form, though, “South of France” sounds promising. The beat knocks, Future sounds as reckless and cavalier as you’d want him to for an album called Mixtape Pluto. The snippet doesn’t include any vocals from Travis Scott. That said, the Houston rapper can be seen dancing to the beat and getting ready to record his vocals. He’s going to sound great over the beat that Future has provided him with. In tandem with “Lil Demon,” Future’s other snippet, Mixtape Pluto is going to be exactly what the fans have been hoping for.

Future isn’t the only one in album mode. Travis Scott recently confirmed that he was back in the studio during an interview with Cultured. “I’m back in album mode,” he revealed. “I’ve been working on music and sh*t every day on tour. When I’m doing the stadiums, because they’re sold out, I can see the music for what it is. I’m f**king amped.” Between Future’s impending release and whatever Travis Scott has in store, the rest of 2024 is looking pretty good for hip hop fans.

Meek Mill Freestyles Over Drake’s “Family Matters” Diss Track: Watch

Meek Mill shared a video of himself listening to a freestyle he made over the beat to Drake’s diss track, “Family Matters,” on social media over the weekend. In the clip, he plays the track in a car while rapping along. Drake released the original version of the song, earlier this year, while feuding with Kendrick Lamar.

Fans had mixed responses to the freestyle on X (formerly Twitter). ”Literally copy’s anything Drake does, soon as Drake got braids he got them (don’t care if he had them years ago) also every single beat Drake raps on he has too rap on, he a fan,” one user argued. Another added: “It’s really astonishing how this man’s image flipped to ultimate goofy. I really can’t unsee it.” Others were more excited by the snippert. “This sound like Dreams & Nightmares Meek,” one fan remarked.

Meek’s flip of Drake’s “Family Matters” comes after he discussed his relationship with the Toronto rapper, last year. “Now we got to a space where we can text each other and say anything… We got that honesty where we can leave it on the table, and we can walk away, and feel good about that. And we ain’t have that before the beef,” he said on SiriusXM’s Hip Hop Nation. The two famously feuded back in 2015 but are clearly on much better terms nowadays.

Yungeen Ace Appears To Diss Foolio And His Mom In New Snippet

Yungeen Ace seemingly dissed both Foolio and his mother while rapping over Cash Cobain’s hit song, “Problem,” for a new snippet. He debuted the track on Triller and immediately began catching attention on social media for lyrics that appear to address his late rival.

“They mad at me that n***a died that’s not my [problem], I’m getting rich off the dead like that’s my [problem],” Yungeen raps, as caught by XXL. “Can’t trust nobody but my choppa that’s my [problem]. Lil’ n***a died, got caught in traffic that’s my [problem].” From there, Ace appears to go after Foolio’s mom with the lyrics: “When this b**ch got hit with the stick that wasn’t my [problem].
