Saweetie & Quavo: Californian Put On Blast For Mean-Mugging Club Patron Who Bumped Into Her Then-BF

Saweetie’s music may come across as being written by a baddie who doesn’t often get caught up in her feelings, but as a proud Cancer, she knows she’s one of the most sensitive signs of the zodiac. We saw this especially during her relationship with Quavo, which ran for three years until its tumultuous end in early 2021. At the time, the Icy Girl insinuated that her other half had been unfaithful toward her. Falling victim to cheating is painful enough for a regular person. To have it happen in the public eye, with the person you planned to spend the rest of your life with made things increasingly painful for Saweetie.

When she and Quavo were together, the fashionista’s love for her man was obvious. She didn’t necessarily come across as the jealous type, but their constant PDA proved that both lovers enjoyed having their hands on each other only. Earlier this week, a curious Twitter user put out a public inquiry about “f**ked up and evil” interactions with celebrities, and one user had a story to tell about Saweetie and her ex. “I accidentally bumped Quavo in the club,” the woman alleged in her reply.

Saweetie Didn’t Play About Quavo During Their Relationship

“Saweetie looked like she wanted to swing on me 😭,” she continued. “We go outside, this b**ch got in the RR truck, cracked the window, locked me up and down and mean-mugged me like Snoop did Jody on ‘Baby Boy.’” Now that the story is making rounds on blogs, other users are debating how valid it is. “This whole interaction was too specific 😂,” one person pointed out. “[You] lucky that’s all she did 😂😂😂. She did not play bout him,” another chimed in.

Things may not have worked out between her and Quavo, but that didn’t stop Saweetie from moving on with another rapper. She took some time to heal from and reflect on the drama that led up to her breakup, but now, the West Coast baddie is boo’d up with YG, who she’ll be headed out on tour with in the near future. Who Is Opening YG, Tyga, And Saweetie’s ‘Str8 To The Club Tour?’

This week, YG, Tyga, and Saweetie launch their Str8 To The Club Tour in Sacramento, before heading north to San Francisco then taking over arenas in Las Vegas, Tucson, Tacoma, Vancouver, and more. The trio will be joined by three openers: Kamaiyah, Wallie The Sensei, and DJ Vision. The tour will likely offer fans a preview of Tyga and YG’s upcoming joint album, as well as Saweetie’s long-delayed debut, along with a look at some of California’s hottest up-and-coming artists. So…

Who Is Opening YG, Tyga, And Saweetie’s Str8 To The Club Tour?

DJ Vision

DJ Vision is a Los Angeles-based DJ who has mainly supported OhGeesy as his tour DJ, accompanying him on his 2022 Geezyworld Tour, as well as touring with YG on The Red Cup Tour with OhGeesy, and YG’s 4Hunnid artists Day Sulan, and D3SZN. The earliest tour on his social media is YG’s F*ck Donald Trump Tour in 2016, which featured Kamaiyah, RJ (aka RJMrLA), and Sad Boy.

Kamaiyah

Kamaiyah is an interesting addition to the lineup because of the history between her and YG. After garnering a strong reception for her 2016 mixtape A Good Night In The Ghetto, she signed with 4Hunnid Records as one of YG’s first artists with distribution through Interscope. However, after her debut album was delayed multiple times, she left both labels in a rather contentious split. It appears the two are back on better terms now that Yaya is back independent. She has continued to release new music, dropping her most recent full-length album, Oakland Nights, in 2020, and an EP, Diving Timing, last year. She has released a steady stream of new singles in 2023, including “Shot Callin’,” “All Night,” and “Heat Warning.”

Wallie The Sensei

Wallie The Sensei is a newer artist from — where else? — Compton, who dropped his debut album, Golden Child, in 2021, following up in 2022 with Here 2 Stay. He approaches rap with the contemporary melodic flow popular with fellow Hub City natives like Roddy Ricch and Kalan.FrFr, crooning about the heartbreak of growing up knee-deep in hood politics. According to an early bio on local rap blog Rosecrans Ave. (what up, Vic!), his goal is to provide a positive outlook and guidance for those stuck in similar situations — hence the “sensei” in his stage name. On Instagram, he’s tagged himself a “Hope Dealer,” and his music certainly seems to offer a sliver of silver lining amid the emotional catharsis.

Saweetie Joined Selena Gomez In Rebutting Becoming A Meme After Stuttering At The 2023 MTV VMAs

We do not need to overthink what happened at Tuesday’s (September 12) 2023 MTV Video Music Awards: Saweetie is great, and teleprompters are not.

Saweetie hosted the VMAs pre-show and was a presenter during MTV’s broadcast. Saweetie stuttered while tossing the pre-show to a commercial break, as posted by a fan account on X (formerly known as Twitter). In the time between that understandable mishap and Saweetie’s reappearance during the 2023 MTV VMAs to introduce a performance from Stray Kids, some people roasted her online.

“Hey, what’s up, y’all? It’s me again,” Saweetie said (as shown in a clip posted to X by BET). “And y’all better stop making my little stutter video go viral. I see what you’re doin’. Anyways, let’s try it again!”

Saweetie has been teasing her debut album, Pretty B*tch Music, for at least two years. In March, she explained the album’s ongoing delay to E! News.

“I feel like a debut album is not something you just put out,” Saweetie said. “It’s not something you play with. I’m a Cancer, so I like to overthink sometimes, but I think you have to be really careful with that, and I take my art really serious.”

Selena Gomez can relate. Gomez, sitting next to her “Calm Down” collaborator Rema, did not appear pleased when Chris Brown was announced as a nominee for Best R&B. Video of her reaction circulated (and is still circulating) online, and she later wrote on her since-expired Instagram Story, “I will never be a meme again. I’d rather sit still than be dragged for being myself. Much love.”

Saweetie Partners With Tinder For “Swipe-Off” Concert Challenge

Screen Shot 2023 09 12 at 10.13.12 AM

The new school year is just underway and college students across the country are already flexing their flirting skills. In fact, Tinder sees the highest influx of new 18-year-old members during freshman orientations. To encourage this new cohort of users to put themselves out there and make new on-campus connections, Tinder is partnering with “Tap In” rapper Saweetie to launch Swipe Off. The nationwide challenge will award the college or university with the most Swipe activity, proving it’s at the forefront of crush culture, a free concert headlined by Saweetie, along with a surprise special guest.

Starting today, the Swipe Off challenge is open to select colleges and universities enrolled in Tinder U, an in-app feature that lets collegiate users easily connect with others at their school. The school that sends the most Likes (…or Nopes) on Tinder through October 6th will win a free concert for its campus.

“Tinder is always working to match the vibrant energy of our college users. They form the core of our user base, and over the years, we’ve seen countless campus connections blossom into meaningful relationships,” says Stephanie Danzi, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Tinder. “We created The Swipe Off challenge to feed into that energy and encourage them to unlock all the possibilities of the college experience that come from meeting new people.”

It’s no coincidence that the Icy Girl herself is headlining the ultimate Swipe Off experience for the winning school. Saweetie has been vocal in her affinity for both  the college experience and Tinder, with the proud USC alum referencing the brand in her viral hit single “Tap In.”

“Whether they were a fling, a friend, or something more serious, the people I met at USC are what made my time there a blast. I’m excited to partner with Tinder in encouraging today’s college students to ‘tap in’ to the possibilities that come from meeting new people.” says Saweetie.

YG Shares Couples Pic Of Him And Saweetie On Instagram

YG and Saweetie are quickly becoming one of rap music’s it couples. The pair are often seen going out together and occasionally face some judgment for their choice of attire. Fans were eating it up when the pair went with matching all-white fits for a night on the town in West Hollywood last month. They were less about it when YG donned a green and orange sweater on a night out a few weeks earlier. “N*gga dressed like the Scooby doo mystery machine,” one fan commented on a post of the couple.

Now they’re once again out on the town. This time YG shared a picture to his Instagram story of the pair getting out of the back seat of a car and sharing an intimate moment in the process. It’s difficult from the picture he posted to make out exactly what Saweetie is wearing. Really all that can be made out is one glittering silver heel. While YG is dressed pretty modest in a plain all-black fit, fans still found a way to come at him for his fashion choices. “Shoes longer than a bank holiday weekend,” reads the top comment on a repost of the picture. The comment is in reference to a pair of long and quite pointy black shoes the “West Coast Weekend” rapper is wearing.

YG And Sweetie Hitting The Town Again

Later this year, Tyga and YG are headed on tour. The two frequent collaborators are bringing an impressive collection of talent along with them, headlined by none other than Saweetie. The trio celebrated their upcoming road trip together by releasing a new song a few weeks ago. The pair of rappers make an appearance on Saweetie’s new single “Birthday,” which fans can probably expect to hear on tour.

The tour they’re set to embark on will start next month. Alongside the trio Kamaiyah, Wallie The Sensei, and DJ Vision will also be hitting the road. What do you think of the new pictures of YG and Saweetie? Let us know in the comment section below.

Saweetie Starts A Fansly Account + Promises “Spicy” Content & Exclusive Music

Saweetie

In a surprising move, Saweetie announced her decision to start a Fansly account in a recent Instagram post. Fansly is an adult platform similar to OnlyFans, where the “Icy Girl” promises to share “spicy” content, exclusive music, and behind-the-scenes intel. Saweetie Has Apparently Joined OnlyFans Competitor Fansly With A Page Promising ‘Spicy Content’

Over the past couple of years, as revenue from streaming and touring slowed down, artists have found plenty of alternative streams of income — including fan-based content platforms with racy reputations, like OnlyFans. Among the artists who’ve joined the platform are Iggy Azalea, who said she is “making so much money” on the platform, and Bhad Bhabie, who reportedly pulled in a ludicrous sum in her first year. Now, a new name is joining a similar platform, as Icy Girl Saweetie announces the launch of her own account on competing service, Fansly.

She announced the launch of her Fansly account via Instagram, as well as with a press release. In the attached statement, she said, “I’m so hyped to team up with Fansly and give my loyal ICY GIRLS a peek into my world like never before. We’re about to bring the fire and empower creators to connect with their fans on a whole new level. Brace yourselves for some spicy content, baby!”

While that content is probably not what some fans are hoping for — after all, no other star has yet gone quite so far — the extra cash could come in handy as Saweetie continues to work on her long-awaited, recently renamed debut album and tour with new boo YG and his Compton brethren Tyga. She apparently teased the move at this weekend’s fight between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz in Las Vegas, making her debut as a ring girl. It should probably be noted that while Fansly and OnlyFans have a reputation for explicit content, neither is technically considered an adults-only site, with creators free to post whatever content they like — within guidelines, of course.
