Brandon T. Jackson Clarifies Diddy & Cassie Comments After Joking About Case

Brandon T. Jackson’s comments about Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy got him in a lot of heat with social media users. Moreover, he posted a video from his car addressing the Bad Boy signee’s alleged experience with sexual assault and physical abuse at the hands of her label’s mogul. In it, the actor held a “confessional session” where he admitted to sleeping with many women, being late on child support, and other lighter topics. It’s a bizarre clip, but it seems to joke about skeletons coming out of the closet in situations like these, and about people quickly getting “cancelled” for their views and actions.

After many called this out as tone-deaf or disrespectful, Brandon T. Jackson released another video on social media clarifying his take on these allegations, of which similar ones recently emerged from Diddy’s other partners. “I’m no one’s slave,” the clip’s caption read. “I say what I want. I work when I want. But I don’t disrespect people trauma don’t take my words out of context. Period.” In the video itself, he goes into a little more detail about his thoughts and how folks misconstrued them.

“Well, I guess I gotta do it for the 32nd generation that don’t pay attention to context or jokes,” Brandon T. Jackson remarked of his original intent, making it more clear that he was making fun of himself and just using this situation as a jumping-off point. “If anybody who knows anything about comedic satire, I come from a long form of content. It’s called film. It’s called comedic satire. No way would I ever make fun of Cassie’s trauma, or Diddy, or whatever’s going on. I was talking about myself, I was self-joking about myself. So that’s what it was.”

Meanwhile, other celebrities are also having a hard time speaking on this issue without getting backlash. DJ Akademiks Fires At Saucy Santana For Not Addressing Cassie’s Claims Against Diddy

Some rap beef transcends headlines, and there are always ways through which people will seek to center the world around their rivalries. In DJ Akademiks, we have a great example of this, as he continued his callouts and attacks against Saucy Santana, who kept up a nasty social media feud over the past couple of weeks or so. This time, though, it related to the accusations of sexual assault and abuse from Cassie against Diddy, who Ak previously roped into this spat with Saucy and Yung Miami. Ak thinks that the former is being hypocritical right now by not speaking up about the issue as soon as possible.

“Where that h*e a** n***a mysonne and all them ppl who was talmbout ‘Protect Black women’ when some gay n***a was talking about me and his sick r*pe fetish,” DJ Akademiks tweeted recently. “Where them ppl now sticking up for Cassie. Ohhhhhhhh.” “Remember last week everybody was on dat ‘protect Black women wave,’” he added on Instagram. “Where saucy n that clown mysonne at now.” Of course, the media personality wouldn’t be the first to rope in his beef with Diddy into these allegations.

However, this isn’t just a troubled sentiment for how DJ Akademiks is perpetuating this beef amid a much more serious situation– and the fact that Saucy’s only had less than 24 hours to say something about this case. It’s also downplaying the importance behind protecting Black women and painting out to be a fad rather than a real issue. While there are definitely some cases in which this narrative can excuse other bad behavior or when people apply it inconsistently, it remains a pretty nasty sentiment. Still, considering that Saucy Santana is spending a lot of time promoting his diss track towards the media personality, there’s also something to be said about speaking out concerning real problems and how many would rather stick to what they know or what is safe for them to address.

Meanwhile, the Diddy and Cassie case will likely develop with a lot more information and scandalous allegations in the near future. As such, people are still learning about this story and gathering the necessary context. Whatever way in which it resolves will likely be cause for even more debate, and it’s disheartening to see people not prioritizing this struggle and instead only focusing on their own beefs, no matter which side of it you’re on. Diddy’s alleged involvement in Tupac Shakur’s murder has become one of the hottest old-school hip-hop stories of the year. Not only are other rappers throwing in their two cents (or 50 cents, we should say), but it revived general interest in the circumstances behind the West Coast legend’s tragic loss. Moreover, folks within these inner circles with more firsthand experience with these figures are vouching for them. For example, former Bad Boy bodyguard Gene Deal spoke to The Art Of Dialogue on Thursday (October 26) about this debacle. He didn’t claim to have any solid information on whether Puff did anything, but he knows that his client knew Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the main suspect in the case who is currently in custody and accused of taking orders from the mogul in many’s eyes in the rap community.

“Keefe D, I’ve seen him a number of times,” the security guard expressed. “[He and Diddy] were gambling together, they were drinking together, they had fun, they was hanging out in hotels. Yes, they did have a relationship. As far as me having any information whether he commissioned Keefe D to do a murder, nah bruh, that ain’t me. They can ask me, did I see Keefe D? Yes, I did. Was he around? Yes, he was.”

Diddy Announces “The Love Album: Off The Grid” Film Coming Out In Theaters Soon

Sean “Diddy” Combs is one of hip-hop’s biggest moguls- even when he’s not making hip-hop or music at all. Moreover, he just announced the upcoming debut of a new film titled Off The Grid, which he says is inspired by his recent R&B-centric album The Love Album, subtitled with the same name. In addition, the Bad Boy executive and artist also gave a small hint as to what we can expect from it based on another star that will be in it. That’s Eva Apio, an English model that gained notoriety for her Burberry and Louis Vuitton campaigns. While the film doesn’t have a release date yet, die-hards already look forward to what this new experience will bring.

“The Movie Off The Grid starring Sean Diddy Combs & Eva Apio,” he wrote on Instagram on Friday (October 27). “Coming to a theatre near you. Inspired by The Love Album.” Not only is this a new audiovisual realm for Puff Daddy, but it’s also shaping up to be a theatrical release, much like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift’s concert films from 2023. We don’t know if this will be a full narrative, a loose collection of music and visuals, or how long it will be. With people like Eva Apio involved, though, we should expect it to be very visually stimulating as far as cinematography and presentation goes.

What’s more is that it’s very possible that new music from Diddy is coming very soon, as well. However, we got hints from him and his son King Combs that it will be a more hip-hop focused direction that calls back to his commercial musical heyday. In addition, it also seems very possible that the New York icon will be hopping on other projects from other artists, as well. For example, Jay Electronica tagged him in a post about being in “album mode,” which is a pretty promising crossover to anticipate.

50 Cent and Rick Ross have longstanding beef against each other, a battle that refused to wane over the years. Despite it being relatively low-key, it bubbles up every once in a while, and the latter just found a way to re-instigate it. Moreover, Rozay suggested that Fat Joe referred to the G-Unit mogul during an Instagram rant against rappers who get their feud rivals roped up in more legal drama in order to bring them down. Of course, this could potentially allude to 50’s recent claims that Diddy organized Tupac’s murder, or at least, that’s what the Maybach Music Group mogul interpreted. First, though, we have to understand what Joey Crack was saying, which he maintained wasn’t directed at anyone specifically.

Diddy Called Mopreme Shakur To Deny Murdering 2Pac, His Brother Claims

Mopreme Shakur’s recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue points to an interesting confession tied to his brother Tupac’s murder. Moreover, he spoke on rumors that Diddy had something to do with it, which he’s addressed and fed into before. In fact, it seems like during plenty of interviews with Keefe D (the case’s main murder suspect), he brought up the Bad Boy mogul’s name quite often. However, at least based on Mopreme’s experience, he’s been defending his innocence for years. Furthermore, the rapper told the outlet of how Sean Combs called him in the early 2000s to deny his involvement.

“The boy Puffy called me, though,” Mopreme Shakur’s words on Diddy began. “Puffy called me back in the day. ‘I just want you to know I ain’t have nothing to do with your brother. I know who you are but we never met, I just wanted to call you. Man to man, tell you that, you know, that I had nothing to do with your brother’s death.’ Now why was he calling me, reaching out to me? Because The LA Times had just dropped, in the early 2000s, an article in the newspaper implicating him as well. I told him I appreciate the call, but the truth is yet to come out, so we gon’ see.

Diddy Accused Of Withholding Evidence In Ex-Nanny’s Wrongful Firing Case

As successful as this year was for Diddy, it also came with its fair share of legal complications and cases. For example, one that developed towards the end of 2022 and carried over into 2023 has to do with a nanny that he fired. Raven Walden sued the Bad Boy mogul in September of last year for wrongful termination, alleging that he let her go because she requested maternity leave and “set a bad example” for his daughters by getting pregnant out of wedlock. Now, according to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Walden requested that the court force him to hand over evidence she requested in the case months ago.

Not only that, but Walden and her lawyers want a judge to impose sanctions on Diddy for his negligence in this. Specifically, they accused him of improper proceedings in the discovery process, as they allegedly controlled what the court and the case had access to. According to the plaintiff’s team, Sean Combs and his legal team “abused the discovery process with impunity and have shown no regard for this Court’s directions to them, their own promises, or their discovery obligations.” As such, it will be interesting to see how this case develops in court when this debacle over evidence is such a big component.

In response to all this, Diddy sought to dismiss this lawsuit promptly, and fired off some counterclaims at Walden. Maintaining that he fired her for good-faith and non-discriminatory reasons, he alleged that she “[wasn’t] performing all of her job duties as required.” In addition, Puff Daddy stated that Walden “received compensation for work that was not performed, thus resulting in wages being paid to [her] that were not owed.” This is relevant because Walden seeks an unspecified amount in damages for the allegedly wrongful termination, which he might counter with these claims of overpayment.

Meanwhile, the music executive also detailed steps to “implement internal grievance processes designed to respond to, correct, remedy, or otherwise avoid the alleged harm, if any.” He said Walden didn’t take advantage of these, and thus her grievances are less justified. During their conversation, Johnny Blaze recalled a wild story about being high on mushrooms for the 1996 Soul Train Awards afterparty in Los Angeles. This was at the height of East Coast and West Coast tensions, and what’s hilarious is that he met its executive leaders in the same night- and everything went super well. Of course, he was on shrooms, so that’s part of it, but we’re glad nothing ruined his high.

“I’m on mushrooms like a motherf***er,” Method Man began. “It didn’t hit me while I’m in the club ’til I saw Puff. I see Puffy with like six bodyguards- and then it hit me.
