Tupac’s Brother Reacts To Drake Went Too Far By Using AI Voice In His Kendrick Lamar Diss Track

Tupac’s brother, Mopreme Shakur, reportedly gave his thoughts to TMZ Hip Hop about Drake using A.I. technology to replicate the West Coast legend’s voice on his Kendrick Lamar diss track, “Taylor Made Freestyle.” According to the publication, Mopreme thinks he went too far with this weaponization of ‘Pac’s voice for the sake of a rap battle. Apparently, he compared it to bringing a tank or dropping a nuclear bomb in a one-on-one battle, something that he thinks should stay a personal showdown with no external help. Mopreme also considered the context of this being rap beef (something that Tupac and other icons were no strangers to), acknowledging how the Toronto rapper just did this to get a rise out of K.Dot and his love for the “All Eyez On Me” MC.

Furthermore, Mopreme Shakur also commented on a point of retort that Drake fans have for people criticizing his use of A.I. technology here. OVO supporters called out Kendrick Lamar’s “conversation” with Tupac Shakur on “Mortal Man” off of To Pimp A Butterfly, which he constructed using old interview clips and re-contextualizing them with new questions from the former TDE MC. However, Mopreme actually co-signed this specific homage according to TMZ Hip Hop due to its presentation as a respectful tribute that touches on the themes that ‘Pac was actually passionate about in that interview. All that aside, he said that he’s got love for both MCs in this head-to-head, and for J. Cole as well. Mopreme wants them to stay focused on the sport, but to avoid incendiary moments like these and prevent violence from taking over.

Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” Diss Against Kendrick Lamar Using A.I. Tupac & Snoop Dogg Voices: Listen

Of course, Mopreme Shakur said that he loves hearing his brother’s voice, but not in this combative and exploitative context. Still, according to TMZ Hip Hop, apparently Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” made him realize that this technology is “a hell of a tool.” But for younger generations specifically, Mopreme fears that they won’t be able to tell the difference between the real and fake ‘Pac. As for who’s “winning” this beef right now, he thinks they still have more in store, so he can’t call a victor just yet.

Meanwhile, what do you think about that last point, and about this A.I. situation as a whole? Did you catch what Snoop Dogg had to say about it after Drizzy used his A.I. voice, too? However you may feel, drop your thoughts down in the comments section below. Also, come back to HNHH for the latest on Mopreme and Tupac Shakur, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

Tupac Was Extremely Close To Signing With Bad Boy Records According To His Brother

We finally have more headway on who committed the crime and we are sure more will be unearthed. This latest bit of information circles back to Tupac’s musical career. However, Tupac had a chance to join another iconic music group.

According to HipHopDX, the brother of the late rapper, Mopreme Shakur recently spoke with The Art of Dialogue. In the interview, Mopreme revealed some interesting news. When ‘Pac was released from jail in 1995, he was seriously considering joining Bad Boy Records. Mopreme said, “There was a point ‘Pac was considering going to Bad Boy before his relationship with Death Row. He wanted to be on a Black label… He wanted to be with the brothers.”

Mopreme Shakur Explains What Went Down With Tupac

However, it never worked out that way, obviously. What ultimately led to Tupac inking the contract with Death Row, was some battle of powers. Namely, Diddy had more say and control, according to Mopreme. “Over time, things happened, and ‘Pac started seeing things. Biggie was on Puffy’s label so with them two, it was Puffy calling the shots. There was some legitimate problems there.” It would have been incredible to see both of the biggest rappers in the world be on the same label. Who knows what material we could have gotten.

What are your initial thoughts on Mopreme Shakur saying that Tupac was really close to signing with Bad Boy Records? Do you think that he should have inked the deal? Diddy Called Mopreme Shakur To Deny Murdering 2Pac, His Brother Claims

Mopreme Shakur’s recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue points to an interesting confession tied to his brother Tupac’s murder. Moreover, he spoke on rumors that Diddy had something to do with it, which he’s addressed and fed into before. In fact, it seems like during plenty of interviews with Keefe D (the case’s main murder suspect), he brought up the Bad Boy mogul’s name quite often. However, at least based on Mopreme’s experience, he’s been defending his innocence for years. Furthermore, the rapper told the outlet of how Sean Combs called him in the early 2000s to deny his involvement.

“The boy Puffy called me, though,” Mopreme Shakur’s words on Diddy began. “Puffy called me back in the day. ‘I just want you to know I ain’t have nothing to do with your brother. I know who you are but we never met, I just wanted to call you. Man to man, tell you that, you know, that I had nothing to do with your brother’s death.’ Now why was he calling me, reaching out to me? Because The LA Times had just dropped, in the early 2000s, an article in the newspaper implicating him as well. I told him I appreciate the call, but the truth is yet to come out, so we gon’ see.

Mopreme Shakur Recalls Diddy Defending Himself

“Well, I think him and ‘Cease was on the radio out here,” Mopreme Shakur continued. “Big Boy, shout out to Big Boy. He hit me up and was like, ‘Yo, man, you know Puffy didn’t want to talk to you about the whole situation with your brother.’ Especially back then, I wanted all the information I could get. I heard what he said, but this s**t been so chaotic, I ain’t know which way to go until you gather more information. Yeah man, you know, he could’ve been trying to cover his a**, or he could’ve been sincere. We gon’ see.

“You know, you got people like Kading,” he went on. “[He’s] out doing interviews. It be feeling like he got sympathy for Puffy because he was scared. Yeah, he was scared, yes, I agree. I do agree that he was probably terrified for his life. So if that is the case, it’s also quite feasible that he put up money to get ‘Pac killed. You know what I mean? That’s weird. We gon’ see, time will tell. On top of it, he had his own problems with Suge, before ‘Pac. I get it, you should be scared, n***a. Like I said, ‘Pac would’ve boxed him ‘Pac would’ve loved to beat his a** in the ring, raise some money, and give it to the hood. It ain’t have to be like this.” For more news on Tupac, Mopreme Shakur, and Diddy, come back to HNHH.

Tupac’s Brother Says Keefe D Arrest Brought Back The Trauma Of Rapper’s Murder

The world continues to react to the arrest of Duane “Keefe D” Davis. Mopreme Shakur, the brother of 2Pac, has spoken out, saying that hearing of the arrest brought back the trauma of his brother’s death. “The case isn’t closed for me,” Mopreme told TMZ. Furthermore, Mopreme said that just because an arrest had been made didn’t mean that the investigation was over him.

Additionally, Mopreme was critical of the behavior of the Las Vegas Police Department. Apparently, the LVPD only recently reached out to Pac’s family about the ongoing investigation. Furthermore, the first person who did reach out this year retired soon after. Mopreme also said that the family was not made aware of the arrest before it happened, meaning it came as a surprise to the family.

Tupac’s Sister Speaks Out

Elsewhere, Tupac’s sister issued a formal statement through the foundation she set up in her brother’s name. “This is no doubt a pivotal moment. The silence of the past 27 years surrounding this case has spoken loudly in our community. It’s important to me that the world, the country, the justice system, and our people acknowledge the gravity of the passing of this man, my brother, my mother’s son, my father’s son. His life and death matters, and should not go unsolved or unrecognized. So yes, today is a victory but I will reserve judgement until all the facts and legal proceedings are complete. There have been multiple hands involved and there remains so much surrounding the life and death of my brother Tupac and our Shakur family overall. We are seeking real justice, on all fronts.”

Meanwhile, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith also made a statement on her Instagram page. “Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure. R.I.P. Pac.” Pinkett-Smith and Shakur were reportedly close in high school. Furthermore, Pinkett-Smith has previously said in interviews that one of her biggest regrets in life is not telling Shakur that she loved him.

2Pac’s Brother Claims Biggie Was Planning To Join Thug Life

In an interview with AllHipHop, Mopreme Shakur, the brother of Tupac, confirmed rumors that Pac was recruiting Biggie to Thug Life. “There is some validity to that,” Shakur said. “Before things fell apart, Pac was a uniter. We knew we were from New York. We knew we were from the East Coast. And Pac liked to work with the best talent around. So, there was a period, there was a time when we was all cool. There was a time when Pac wanted Biggie to be part of the East Coast faction of Thug Life ‘cause we was kicking it with each other anyway. Pac wasn’t just a hater just to be hating. He liked [Biggie].”

In the same interview, Shakur hit back at the scrutiny his brother faced. “What Pac did was dare to fight. He dared to fight back, he dared to say something. He dared to question the police, and it comes with a certain amount of baggage.”

Shakur’s comments come amidst a period of renewed interest in his brother’s murder. The case, which is a favorite among true crime buffs, has soared back into the public interest after law enforcement conducted a series of raids last month. Keefe D is the uncle of Orlando Anderson, a gang member believed to have been the gunman that killed 2Pac. 2Pac had had a physical altercation with Anderson earlier in the night. Meanwhile, Keefe D has claimed for several years that he handed Anderson the gun that was used to kill 2Pac. While Anderson was killed in a gang shooting in 1998, Keefe D’s self-professed involvement could see him in a courtroom in the near future.

The primary raid was conducted on the home of Keefe D’s ex-wife. Keefe D had claimed that evidence relating to the murder could be found there. Bullets, magazines, and other paraphernalia were recovered during the raid. That evidence has since been presented to a grand jury. However, police have warned that it could take months for the grand jury to reach a decision on an indictment. Meanwhile, Keefe D has blamed Diddy for getting him into the lifestyle that would eventually lead to 2Pac’s murder.
