Diddy Allegations: G Dep Argues Bad Boy Mogul Deserves “Benefit Of The Doubt”

G Dep, a former Bad Boy Records artist, recently spoke about the allegations plaguing Diddy and argued he deserves the “benefit of the doubt.” Speaking with Fox 5 New York about the topic, he also pleaded with the industry veteran to help him out as he’s gotten hundreds of songs in the vault following his prison release.

“I’m like, when? When did that happen?” he asked the outlet. “We were in the studio for months on end. I don’t know where this is coming from.” From there, he called for Diddy’s help. “Got a lot of songs, bruh,” he said. “I’m looking for you so we can get, you know, some type of musical situation going.”

G Dep isn’t the first associate of Diddy’s to speak out in his defense. Stevie J recently denied all the claims against him during an interview with TMZ. “I’ve never seen my man doing anything foul like they talking about,” Stevie told the outlet. “I’ve never seen it, I’ve known him for 29 years.” The drama for Diddy began when Cassie sued him for sexual abuse and more back in November. Although they quickly settled, a number of other alleged victims came forward in the months since. Finally, Homeland Security agents raided his properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a sex trafficking investigation, last month. Check out G Dep’s full comments on the matter below.

G Dep Speaks On Diddy Relationship

Throughout the stretch of time, Diddy has denied all of the claims against him and isn’t facing any criminal charges. His lawyer, Aaron Dyers, labeled the raids on his properties a “gross overuse of military-level force” in a statement at the time. Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Rappers Who Have Shared Wild Diddy Stories

Diddy has probably been all over the media lately and it’s not for great reasons. The music mogul has been under serious hot water following the allegations made against him by his ex, Cassie. While that signaled to many that his career was over, things have only gone downhill since that occurred. Lil Rod, who worked with Diddy, filed a hefty lawsuit against him, with enough stories to make even the toughest man shudder. This also famously led Homeland Security to raid Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles on March 25.

Over the years, Diddy’s name has been linked to some really bizarre stories and allegations, many of which have begun to resurface in the wake of recent news. The music industry is ripe with a ton of allegations, and the Hip Hop veteran is no stranger to these. While this is his first investigation of this magnitude, the Bad Boy Records CEO has vexed several fellow rappers in the past. Here are five times he’s been called out.

Mark Curry

Mark Curry was signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records in the 90s and has some stories of his own. While sitting with The Art Of Dialogue, he spoke about some of Diddy’s infamous “parties.” Specifically, Curry stated that when he would join Diddy in the club, there was a specific section of bottles for the crew and another for the ladies. He claimed that the bottles for the ladies were spiked, which made them behave “slippery.” Soon after, these women, in a loose state, would have their mouths opened, while Diddy would “pop pills in their mouths.”

MA$E

Diddy and rapper-preacher Mase have a couple of stories between them. The pair have a long history of clashing, especially over the money issues that led to their parting. Mase, who released three albums under Bad Boy Records, claimed that his royalties were withheld from him. In 2009, Mase crashed Diddy’s live radio interview and demanded he be released from his contract to Diddy’s label. While Diddy seemed to sign the documents on the spot, it eventually came out that the documents only covered part of Mase’s contract to the label.

When he appeared on The Breakfast Club in 2022, Diddy indirectly called Mase out, referring to him as a “fake pastor” who still owed him $3 million. “Anybody who thinks I owe ‘em something, show me the receipt,” he said. “You’ll get paid in 24 hours…” Mase retorted soon after, saying: “How dare this n**** talk about receipts? Let’s start with your mother, n****. Your mother got the receipts. Everything is in your mother’s name.”

This then drove the theory that the music mogul is unable to go bankrupt, or perhaps lose in lawsuits brought against him for mismanaging talent. Why? Because a chunk of his assets have allegedly been signed in his mother’s name. Mase also alleged that everyone who signed Diddy’s deals and could provide said receipts are dead. Fast forward to 2024, and Mase claimed that he initially quit rap to focus on being a preacher. His reason was that he was trying to get away from everything Diddy was being accused of at the time.

Kokane

In an interview with Corey Holcomb on the 5150 Show, Kokane recounted one of the most intriguing Diddy stories around. The tale involved an invitation from Diddy to a nightclub. Kokane explained how he received a call from Diddy, who suggested they hit the town that night. Despite having been out with Diddy before, Kokane kept an open mind, eager to see where the night would take them.

Reliving the moment, Kokane described hopping into the car with Diddy and feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity. However, his anticipation quickly turned to surprise when Diddy pulled out a container filled with pills, offering Kokane one. Politely declining, Kokane stuck to his preference for smoking weed. As they arrived at the club, Kokane observed the lively atmosphere on the first floor, with everyone enjoying themselves. Yet, as they ascended to the second and third floor, the vibe took an unexpected turn. Kokane found himself witnessing scenes that made him uncomfortable, notably two men kissing. Expressing his discomfort to Diddy, Kokane was promptly dropped off, appreciating Diddy’s understanding of his boundaries. Reflecting on the experience, Kokane acknowledged Diddy’s attempt to include him but ultimately recognized that that club scene wasn’t his cup of tea.

By all accounts, Fabolous’ Diddy story doesn’t go into explicit details. However, it does raise an eyebrow. Diddy has been known to throw some pretty wild parties, and Fab probably had more than enough that he could take. In 2021, he shared on his Instagram that he once Irish-exited one of Diddy’s parties. That means he played the ole bathroom trick and dipped out from there.

He wrote: “You ever got peer pressured into going to the afties? You really wanna go home or back to the room but you don’t wanna be the turn down to the turn up.” Following it up, he continued, admitting: “I told Diddy I was going to the bathroom & slid once. It was 7AM & this n*gga was still turnt!!!” Again, not too much was given away. But evidently, Diddy preferred his parties on the wilder side.

A post shared by We In Miami Podcast (@weinmiamipodcast)

During a recent chat on the We In Miami podcast, veteran rapper Uncle Luke dropped a subtle hint about the wild nature of Diddy’s parties, recalling how he’d often make an early exit. Though he didn’t delve into specifics, his demeanor suggested a lot was going on. When someone on the podcast asked why he left early, he said, “I don’t know what goes on after hours, but I wasn’t trying to find out…I know my place.”

As if to show how much he avoided being within Diddy’s circle, Uncle Luke told the story of how the hit song “I Wanna Rock” was sampled by French Montana for “Pop That,” featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne, and no one gave him a heads up. Uncle Luke said he got an invitation from Diddy to appear in the music video, which he declined. explaining that it simply wasn’t his scene. When  the interviewer asked if he was at least compensated, he said, “Nah, I ain’t want no check.” And when another podcast member followed with “All money ain’t good money,” Uncle Luke nodded in approval.

He subsequently followed up a few days later by suggesting in a video that Diddy annoyed certain corporate powers, and that was why he was under legal scrutiny. In June 2023, Diddy and alcohol company Diageo severed ties and barely avoided a full-blown legal dispute. Diddy sued the beverage company, claiming they failed to support their joint ventures, particularly Ciroc vodka and DeLeón tequila. Diageo countered, revealing that despite earning nearly a billion dollars in profit, Diddy’s financial contributions amounted to a mere $1,000.

G. Dep’s Prison Release Comes After 13 Years Behind Bars: Video

The story of G. Dep is unlike that of any other rhymer, which is exactly why we’re so curious to see what’s next for the former Bad Boy artist. As HipHopDX reports, Trevell Coleman was signed to Diddy’s label in the late ’90s. He only got to show us a small bit of his lyrical talent before he went away to prison. In late 2023 he was one of just over a dozen people who New York Governor Kathy Hochul granted clemency. At the time, Dep became eligible for parole years sooner than before, and he was finally released today (April 4).

His official Instagram page has been keeping followers up to date with the latest, from the prison gates to Coleman’s first meal as a free man. The 49-year-old’s family was happy to pick him up at Fishkill Correctional Facility in upstate NY. At the time, they emotionally greeted him with a prayer circle.

It wasn’t until 2010 that the “Special Delivery” artist turned himself in, but his heartfelt apology and the work he’s done to change his life behind bars helped prove that he’s worthy of a second chance at life.

Al B. Sure is taking shots at Diddy, accusing the Bad Boys mogul of being the reason he ended up in a coma.

Al appeared at the Equal Justice Now Awards in Los Angeles and spoke about ensuring equal access to healthcare. Then, he made a heavy claim.

“We are going to be producing the Al B. Sure life story,” he said. “So hold on to your britches, and you’ll really understand how I ended up in a coma. You’re really gonna need to call Homeland Security.”

Just last week, Al B. Sure penned a letter to his son on Instagram, calling for him to come “home” following the raids of Diddy’s homes.

Why Did Shyne Go To Prison? Revisiting The Case Involving Diddy

Thanks to recent developments in the news, Diddy has been under a great deal of scrutiny. Many hip-hop heads are looking back into the history of the Bad Boy Records founder with a fresh set of eyes. One major moment in Diddy’s story that has gone back under the microscope is his connection with the decade-long incarceration of former Bad Boy signee Shyne. In 1998, Shyne, a major up-and-comer in hip-hop, signed with the label. However, his career took a significant hit in 1999 after a shooting incident. In 2001, authorities charged and imprisoned Shyne, only three years after he signed the multi-million dollar deal. Diddy and Shyne faced charges, but the label mogul was mysteriously acquitted. Let’s look at the incident and incarceration of Shyne and how it connects with Diddy in light of recent events.

The Shooting Occurred In December 1999

Just one year after joining Bad Boy, Shyne found himself embroiled in a shooting incident alongside Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. Diddy and Lopez maintained a romantic relationship during that time, and the trio attended an industry event at a New York nightclub. According to witness testimony, a man named Matthew Allen, who went by the nickname Scar, entered into a verbal altercation with Diddy. This soon escalated into a series of death threats and physical violence. Guns were drawn, and shots were fired inside of the packed night club, injuring three random bystanders. Prosecutors accused Shyne and Diddy of drawing guns in the building, though both rappers claimed to be acting in self-defense.

Shyne claimed he fired into the air, assuring the court that he did not hit any bystanders. Despite eyewitnesses’ statements contradicting Shyne’s claim and asserting that all three injured civilians sustained gunshot wounds from Shyne’s gun, testimony from a ballistics expert appeared to challenge his assertion. The expert revealed that one of the injuries resulted from a 40-caliber weapon stock, which did not match Shyne’s 9-millimeter weapon. Nevertheless, despite this evidence, the court convicted Shyne of two counts of assault and reckless endangerment. He was also tacked with criminal possession of an illegal weapon. Consequently, he received a ten-year prison sentence with no possibility of parole.

Diddy Was Acquitted Of All Charges

Despite Shyne’s conviction, Diddy managed to wriggle his way out of numerous charges associated with that fateful evening. Diddy’s charges included attempted murder, intentional assault in the first degree, illegal possession of two firearms, and bribery in connection with the impending trial. Once Shyne was incarcerated in Clinton Correctional Facility, he severed all ties with Diddy and Bad Boy Records. He has since expressed feeling extremely bitter to his former label boss. The details surrounding Diddy’s acquittal are murky. Yet, many rap fans assume the executive and his lawyers conspired to pin the entire shooting on his signee.

Shyne Has Since Made Up With Diddy

Despite their past conflicts, Shyne and Diddy eventually reconciled after authorities released the former rapper from prison and deported him to his home country of Belize. Since his sentencing, Shyne has converted to Orthodox Judaism, reunited with his estranged father, and actively served his constituents after they elected him as Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives. Shortly after joining the House of Representatives, government officials across Belize called for an amendment that would bar ex-convicts such as Shyne from running for office. This injustice caused Diddy to reach out in support of his former collaborator, and the two made peace.

In a January 2022 interview with Drink Champs, Shyne expressed, “Puff, to me, totally redeemed himself” in response to Diddy’s political support. He continued, “I did go through a stage of bitterness. But in retrospect, I blame it more on the lawyers that were advising [Diddy.]… That was over a decade ago and I was in a different space then.”

G. Dep Murder Charges: Former Bad Boy Artist Eligible For Conditional Clemency In 2024

Young Thug, Tory Lanez, and R. Kelly are among inmates spending yet another holiday season in the slammer. For at least a few of them, this certainly won’t be their last Christmas behind bars. We’re rooting for Thugger to come home once his YSL RICO trial starts again in the new year, and we’re happy to report that according to AllHipHop, another famous lyricist will be getting conditional clemency in the coming spring, making 2023 their last holiday season behind bars. Former Bad Boy artist G. Dep is the lucky recipient, after confessing to a murder that went unsolved through the 1990s in 2010.

At the time, the rapper (born Trevell Coleman) entered a New York City police station, where he spoke his truth to officers. During a 1993 robbery attempt, Dep shot and killed a man, resulting in a second-degree murder conviction. He was sentenced to 15 to life in court but still has no regrets about coming forward.

Now, Coleman will have the opportunity to stand before a parole board in the spring. Because he confessed to his crime, and expresses remorse for his action, it’s likely the former star will receive clemency. “I was at a point where I wasn’t doing anything that would’ve been fruitful in the long run because I wasn’t right,” he told AllHipHop of life before serving time. “Everything was kind of fruit of the poisonous tree. Everything that I was doing, it was alright on the surface, but it wasn’t really coming from a genuine place.”

As G. Dep prepares to readjust to a society that’s changed substantially since he entered the prison system, his former collaborator, Diddy, is facing harrowing allegations that some suspect could land him in legal trouble. After settling his lawsuit with Cassie last month, the New Yorker continues to be berated by 50 Cent and other online trolls, though Method Man is making it clear he wants no part in the Power producer’s commentary after a recent post. Why Did Mase Fall Out With Diddy?

Diddy has been in the news constantly in the past several weeks, regarding several salacious improprieties in both his business and personal relationships. While it’s no secret that misfortune has befallen many of Diddy’s known collaborators, Mase has remained one of the most fascinating figures in the rap mogul’s orbit. Mase has been lucky enough to escape from his tumultuous tenure at Bad Boy records. However, the prolific performing artist has maintained a years-long feud with Diddy, mostly due to financial and business disagreements.

Mase Attempts To Leave Bad Boy

Mase first quit music in 1999 to pursue his newfound passion as a minister. During his time at the Bad Boy label, several unfortunate events transpired which prompted the “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” rapper to find God. Some of these events may include the violent and untimely death of labelmate The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997. At the time, the Bad Boy label also dealt with a number of legal issues, leading to the incarceration of several artists. Shyne, for instance, faced a conviction for armed assault in connection to a 1999 shooting incident.

Mase came out of retirement on two occasions. Once in 2004 with an album titled Welcome Back, and again in 2009 with a non-album single titled “Get It” and later, Double Up. Unfortunately, his 2009 reemergence was halted by label antics, prompting Mase to crash Diddy’s live radio interview with V103’s Ryan Cameron. Mase stormed into the interview, armed with documents that the rapper claims absolved him from his label requirements, allowing him to function as a free agent. Diddy allegedly signed the documents, allowing Mase to perform as a featured artist on other rappers’ songs. It was later revealed, however, that Bad Boy Records had kept the publishing rights to all of Mase’s music, retaining control over the minister’s career on the mic.

The Beef Escalated Over The Years

In the years since the initial spat, Diddy and Mase have each taken public shots at one another. In 2020, Mase took to Instagram to lament that Diddy refused to sell him back his publishing rights, even going so far as to claim that he offered the mogul over $2 million for the entire catalog. The rapper-turned-minister even put his frustration on wax in a 2022 track titled “Oracle 2: The Liberation of Mason Betha.”

In the track, Mase raps “Yeah, I’m just a Harlem n***a reppin’ down a Vegas strip with my own Suge. You from Mt. Vernon, n***a, go and rep your own hood… You ain’t no architect, you just a n***a who know how to market death.” Diddy reacted to the track by branding Mase a “fake pastor.” He also asserted that Mase still owed the label a $3 million album advance for a project that he never delivered.

The Beef Is Over… For Now

As of this writing, the most recent update in the ongoing Mase vs. Diddy saga came in September of 2023, when Diddy claimed the pair had made up. During a Billboard interview, Diddy stated, “You know, we’re brothers and brothers fight. I love him and that’s it,” in response to a query about whether the two had reconciled. Of course, we’ve heard the pair sing this tune before, so there’s no telling if and when this beef could heat up again.

Diddy’s Former Bodyguard Roger Bonds Calls Mogul “Emotionless”

Diddy’s former head of security Roger Bonds plans to tell his side of the story on an upcoming episode of The Danza Project. In an exclusive trailer provided to Hot New Hip Hop, Bonds, who previously corroborated Cassie’s claims of Diddy’s abuse before walking back on his comments, sat down for a tell-all where he shared his perspective on the matter. The show’s co-host, Danza, doesn’t hold back on asking the questions that have been on our minds. He presses Bonds over whether he witnessed Diddy’s abuse. Then, he dives into the wild allegations regarding male escorts that the world uncovered in Cassie’s lawsuits.

Danza also asks if Cassie might be exaggerating about whether Diddy has some “fruitiness in him.” Bonds neither confirms nor denies it. “I have seen things that will make you question things,” Bonds says.

Elsewhere in the episode, he also claims Diddy never reciprocated the same level of loyalty that he displayed towards the mogul. Despite spending holidays together and forming a tight relationship, Roger recalled a time when Diddy downright doubted his ability to make a similar income without him. “Knowin’ Puff, he’s emotionless,” he said in the episode. Additionally, he recalls Diddy telling him, “All I care about is my bitches. I don’t know how to be your friend.”

Roger Bonds To Appear On The Danza Project

Following the string of lawsuits filed against him, Diddy vehemently denied any wrongdoing. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation, and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday,” Diddy said in a statement. “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth.”

The full episode of The Danza Project’s episode with Roger Bonds will go live this Friday. By the looks of the trailer, it’s going to turn heads. Bonds worked for Diddy from 2003 to 2012, so he’s undoubtedly been by Diddy’s side through plenty of highs and lows. His recent appearances in the media have indicated that he’s not holding his tongue when it comes to his former boss.Check out the trailer for Bonds’ interview on The Danza Project, which debuts on December 15th exclusively on their YouTube channel.

Former Bad Boy President Harve Pierre Is Accused Of Sexual Assault And Grooming In A New Lawsuit

Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Entertainment, is facing a lawsuit accusing him of grooming and sexually assaulting his assistant, Rolling Stone reports.

The complaint was filed in New York County Supreme Court and it reads in part, “Pierre used his position of authority as plaintiff’s boss to groom, exploit, and sexually assault her. Pierre engaged in a year-long pattern of grooming plaintiff, leading to sexual harassment of plaintiff, and sexual assault.”

The plaintiff, who remains anonymous, alleges Pierre sexually assaulted her multiple times in 2016 and 2017, which caused physical, emotional, and psychological injuries, as well as pain and suffering. She is seeking damages that will “fully and fairly compensate” her.

The suit also lists Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records, and Combs Enterprises as co-defendants, saying, “Defendants knew or should have known that Pierre was unfit to be in a position of authority before Pierre sexually assaulted plaintiff.” The suit claims the companies did not “properly supervise” Pierre.

A Bad Boy spokesperson told Rolling Stone, “We have recently become aware of a lawsuit filed in New York by a former employee. The allegations are from many years ago that were never brought to the attention of the company. Neither the plaintiff nor the executive are current employees of the company. We are now investigating the allegations, and our top priority is the safety and well-being of our employees.”

This comes just days after Bad Boy founder Diddy settled a rape and physical abuse lawsuit filed against him by Cassie.
