G. Dep Murder Charges: Former Bad Boy Artist Eligible For Conditional Clemency In 2024

Young Thug, Tory Lanez, and R. Kelly are among inmates spending yet another holiday season in the slammer. For at least a few of them, this certainly won’t be their last Christmas behind bars. We’re rooting for Thugger to come home once his YSL RICO trial starts again in the new year, and we’re happy to report that according to AllHipHop, another famous lyricist will be getting conditional clemency in the coming spring, making 2023 their last holiday season behind bars. Former Bad Boy artist G. Dep is the lucky recipient, after confessing to a murder that went unsolved through the 1990s in 2010.

At the time, the rapper (born Trevell Coleman) entered a New York City police station, where he spoke his truth to officers. During a 1993 robbery attempt, Dep shot and killed a man, resulting in a second-degree murder conviction. He was sentenced to 15 to life in court but still has no regrets about coming forward.

Now, Coleman will have the opportunity to stand before a parole board in the spring. Because he confessed to his crime, and expresses remorse for his action, it’s likely the former star will receive clemency. “I was at a point where I wasn’t doing anything that would’ve been fruitful in the long run because I wasn’t right,” he told AllHipHop of life before serving time. “Everything was kind of fruit of the poisonous tree. Everything that I was doing, it was alright on the surface, but it wasn’t really coming from a genuine place.”

As G. Dep prepares to readjust to a society that’s changed substantially since he entered the prison system, his former collaborator, Diddy, is facing harrowing allegations that some suspect could land him in legal trouble. After settling his lawsuit with Cassie last month, the New Yorker continues to be berated by 50 Cent and other online trolls, though Method Man is making it clear he wants no part in the Power producer’s commentary after a recent post. Key Vhani Murder Charges: Florida Artist Bonds Out After Alleged Manager Shooting, Hit By Car After Incident

Being a hip-hop fan right now has been great in terms of the new music that’s been dropping lately. However, it’s been equally as exhausting to watch our favourite creatives not only feud with each other, but with the law as well. 2023 in particular has been a huge year for crime, and it only seems to be getting more intense as we move into the final month. Of course, Diddy and Cassie’s quickly resolved legal drama has been the hottest topic of conversation this past week. However, a story coming out of Florida about aspiring rap diva Key Vhani has not caught our attention.

As NBC Miami reports, 27-year-old Kevhani Camilla Hicks was arrested for second-degree murder after allegedly gunning down her manager on October 9. The incident was caught on surveillance camera and clearly shows the accused killer arguing with a man beside a parked car before things turned physical. Two men pin the recording artist down, though she’s able to free herself and walk away. Afterward, Vhani reaches into her purse to pull out a gun and open fire multiple times. As the victim runs and eventually collapses on the roadway, she continues to shoot at him.

Vengeance likely felt sweet, but unfortunately for Hicks, a white sedan struck her before fleeing the scene. Arrest reports state authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert where they found the entertainer suffering from blunt force injuries nearby, and her manager lying on the ground. When speaking to the police, Vhani claimed self-defence, noting that she was in fear for her life.

A judge ultimately granted her a $50K bond and house arrest last week before her trial unfolds. Now that she’s back in the real world, the starlet couldn’t wait to share an update on her Instagram page. “I’m finally home after experiencing something so traumatic and life-changing,” she began. “I have three broken rids and bruises all over so I’m currently healing and getting rest.”

Memo600 Reacts To Lul Tim Getting King Von Murder Charges Dropped

Memo600 is someone who has paid a lot of attention to the situation involving King Von, Lul Tim, and Lil Durk. In fact, anyone associated with OTF is probably keeping tabs on the situation. Although Memo600 is no longer part of the collective, he definitely was aware of what was going on back in 2020 and 2021. As many hip-hop fans already know, King Von was murdered back in November 2020. Overall, it was a shocking incident that had many wondering whether or not Lil Durk would retaliate.

A rapper by the name of Lul Tim was ultimately accused of the murder. Tim is a good friend of Quando Rondo, which led to some thinking that Rondo was in danger. Either way, Lul Tim was facing murder charges. In August 2023, those charges were dropped on the count of self-defense. It turned out to be a huge win for the artist, and fans were certainly split on the issue. Recently, RealToonTV asked Memo600 about the charges being dropped, and how he felt about it all.

Memo600 Speaks

Although he has a prior affiliation with OTF, Memo600 does not believe the charges being dropped is a bad thing. Instead, he believes it is good for people to get off from self-defense charges. As fans pointed out in the comments, this is consistent with someone who believes in self-preservation. If he were in a similar situation to Lul Tim, he would want the same legal precedent to take over. Moreover, others noted that people who are involved with street life rarely like to see others end up in prison.

No matter what, this is a case that will likely be talked about for a very long time. Let us know what you think of Memo600’s take on all of it, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to bring you the biggest stories from the biggest artists.

Rot Ken Arrested On Murder & Aggravated Assault Charges In Connection With April Shooting

While all the new music that’s been dropping certainly has our attention, what’s really been taking over the world of rap news lately is a serious crime spree. Both the YSL RICO and YNW Melly’s double murder trials are currently unfolding, and Tory Lanez is still awaiting sentencing after he was jailed for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in late 2022. In addition to those, we saw Boosie Badazz get picked up by federal agents earlier this week. Now, Blanco Tarantino TV reports that 19-year-old rapper Rot Ken has also been taken into custody.

The up-and-coming Atlanta artist – born Kenneth Williams – is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault. Allegations against him stem from a shooting on April 26, ultimately resulting in the death of 24-year-old Usaini Yunusa. 20-year-old Kobe Burns was injured at the time too but thankfully managed to recover. Police reports reveal that the gunfire took place around 6 PM at The Estates at Perimeter on St. Andrews Drive. The accused killers are said to have taken aim at the victims in their vehicle from another car.

Rot Ken’s Mugshot Surfaces Online

Burns, who was allegedly intoxicated when the shooting started, quickly fled the scene. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before he crashed into trees near Interstate Parkway and was later transported to the hospital. There is apparently another suspect connected to the case alongside Ken, though their identity hasn’t been released at this time. Information remains mostly sparse at this time. However, it has been noted that the late Yunusa previously served prison time in Cobb County for weapons-related offences, drug dealing, and gang activity.

As for Rot Ken, he was served his murder warrant while already behind bars for an offence related to his probation. His past criminal record contains convictions including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, burglary, an theft by receiving stolen property. Elsewhere in the realm of crime and hip-hop, a Memphis man named CEO Teezy was killed earlier this month. His unexpected death came shortly after he was publicly named a person of interest in Young Dolph’s murder, which still remains unsolved by authorities. Duvy Facing Charges In 2022 North York Murder: Report

Little more than a year after delivering his debut album, GRASSWAYZ, CP24 reports that Toronto-based rapper Duvy has been arrested. The 21-year-old was taken into custody in connection with a 2022 fatal shooting in the city’s North York area. Police reports claim that on October 6, officers responded to a call at 5 Needle Firway around 1:40 PM. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been identified as 28-year-old Osman Bangura.

Duvy appeared in court earlier today (May 27), but no further updates are available at this time. Investigating authorities are asking anyone with information to consider coming forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously. If the rising star did commit the crime, it would’ve taken place months after his 12-track, almost featureless debut hit DSPs. At the time, titles like “Clear the Spot,” “Shlime Talk,” and “Nightmare Z” were helping him make a name for himself amongst the other artists coming up out of the 6ix.

Duvy Charged in Osman Bangura’s 2022 Death

The only artist to appear on GRASSWAYZ alongside Duvy is Vory, who joined him for the opening track, “Thugz Don’t Cry.” Speaking with Complex about his album (which is based on his childhood), the former said, “It’s is a lot like every other neighborhood. It’s dangerous. There’s a lot of ups and downs. You see a lot of people change. But if you’re not from there, the only thing I would tell you is not to come here. You know what I mean?”

Prior to his arrest, the “Barcelona” lyricist had been delivering heat in 2023 as well. He teamed up with Waveroom and SDawg17shit for “Bloody Mary,” shared a solo effort, “Ladders,” and dropped off the deluxe cut of How Did I End Up Here in between. It remains unclear what the next steps in the ongoing murder investigation are, but the news certainly puts a hold on any big plans the Canadian may have had for the upcoming summer months. FBG Duck’s Mom Reveals “Teezy” Shared Her Son’s Location Prior To His Murder

Earlier this year, FBG Duck’s mom shocked the late rapper’s fans with the announcement of her OnlyFans page. We don’t have any updates on that at this time. However, she did return to social media earlier this week to provide some insight on the status of her son’s murder investigation. As you may recall, the rising artist was shopping in Chicago’s Gold Coast district in August 2020 when he was shot and killed. Witnesses at the scene report that two cars pulled up. Four men then emerged and began firing at him before fleeing the scene. Duck survived the trip to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, though he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.

As XXL notes, five men were arrested in connection with the “Slide” hitmaker’s murder back in October 2021. Charles “C Murda” Liggins, Kenneth “Kenny” Roberson, Tacarlos “Los” Offerd, Christopher “C-Thang” Thomas, and Marcus “Muwop” Smart are their names. Upon being taken into custody, they were charged with murder in aid of racketeering and federal firearm violations and assaults in aid of racketeering. In addition to their crimes, all the men are allegedly members of Chi-town’s O-Block street gang. In her latest update, Duck’s mom claims that she knows who revealed her boy’s location to his ops, resulting in his untimely death.

FBG Duck’s Mom Updates Fans on Her Son’s Murder Investigation

“They just told me I could tell y’all,” she informed viewers in a recent social media post. “His name is Ralph Turpin, also known as Teezy, THF Teezy. He was the one that saw my baby downtown from across the street. He told them motherf*ckers knowing they had a $100K bounty on my son’s head.” After battling through a moment of obvious emotion, Duck’s mom shrugged and said, “That’s what it is.”

For his part, Turpin is facing one count of committing murder in aid of racketeering, as well as one count of conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering. He remains in custody at this time and is expected to be back in court on April 23 for his next hearing. Check out FBG Duck’s mother‘s update above, and tap back in later for more hip-hop news.

Takeoff Murder Suspect Patrick Clark Bond Paid By “Concerned Citizen”: Report

After multiple attempts to get out of jail, Patrick Clark has been released on bond. He is the chief suspect in the murder of Takeoff, and it was expected that Clark wouldn’t be able to make bail. Initially set at $2 million, the bond was later lowered to $1 million. Days ago, it was announced that Clark made bond and would find freedom once again, but questions were raised regarding who put up the bill.

A report by KTVU News also stated Clark’s attorney Letitia D. Quinones shared a statement regarding his release. “Neither Patrick nor his family posted the bond in this case,” she said.

“A concerned citizen and family friend who believes in Patrick’s innocence posted the bond on his behalf,” the lawyer continued. “Like any other defendant, Patrick is presumed to be innocent and has the right to bond. He also has an obligation to comply with all the terms the court has laid out.”

“He intends to comply fully and will appear for proceedings whenever the court requires him to do so. We believe Patrick is innocent and at the appropriate time, the evidence will reveal that to be the case.”

Meanwhile, some people questioned how this could occur when Clark’s team recently requested $5K from the court. They further claimed they needed the money to fund a private investigator for his defense.

YGG Tay Charged In A Federal Murder Conspiracy

A Baltimore rapper known as YGG Tay is facing charges that a federal grand jury alleges tie together a number of crimes in the city over the years.

The rapper, whose real name is Davante Harrison, has been indicted on racketeering conspiracy charges. Authorities are also accusing him of a number of other crimes surrounding murders and gang activity.

Among these crimes is the fatal shooting of a mother and sister of a man who accused Harrison of cooperating with authorities. The accusations also tie him to the Black Guerrilla Family, which is a prison gang that primarily operates in Maryland and California.

His relations with the gang date back as far as 2014, when he is allegedly responsible for supplying heroin and cocaine to “street-level drug shops.”

Furthermore, the indictment accuses Harrison of paying a gang member $10,000 that same year. Prosecutors also say he is responsible for making the payment in exchange for the killing of a 21-year-old. The victim supposedly owed him money from drugs stemming from an earlier exchange.

YGG Tay is one of the most successful and well-known rappers in the city of Baltimore. Releasing songs like “War” and “Go Getter,” his YouTube videos consistently rack up hundreds of thousands of views.

However, his legal trouble has long stood in the way of his career.

Among the other people facing charges in this case is David Warren, a notorious hitman. The 30-year-old has beaten 10 attempted murder charges over the past 16 years.

Warren and Harrison are alleged to have linked up beginning in 2018. According to The Baltimore Banner, “The indictment says Warren sought to endear himself to Harrison and rise in his inner circle by carrying out violence.”

Additionally, federal authorities say that Harrison’s first payment to Warren in exchange for a killing was in 2013. Targeting a fellow BGF member, who allegedly robbed Harrison’s home, the man was subsequently shot.

Prosecutors say they have proof from a text message that Warren is responsible.

YGG Tay is currently serving a 15-year sentence for other federal drug and gun charges, beginning in 2019.

Make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on this situation.
