Charlamagne Tha God Legal Battle With Sexual Assault Accuser Isn’t Over Yet

Charlamagne Tha God may have successfully won a dismissal of Jessica Reid’s sexual assault lawsuit; however, Judge Ona T. Wang is giving her a chance to refile with a focus on defamation. Reid previously accused The Breakfast Club host of sexually assaulting her in 2001 when she was just 15 years old. She first took legal action against him in December 2022.

“For over two decades, Plaintiff Reid has tried to live with the horror of what happened to her at the ripe age of 15. This Court has the power to grant Plaintiff Reid some justice under the current terms of the statutes, leaving any unintended consequences for the legislature to sort out,” Reid’s legal team claimed in a court filing caught by AllHipHop.

The defamation accusation stems from comments Charlamange made during a 2015 episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast that resurfaced in a video on YouTube from the channel, “SELFTALK.” It’s titled: “Funk Flex Calls Out Charlamagne Tha God After Tasha K & Jessica Reid Interview.” Charlamagne’s lawyers are arguing that he had no involvement in the publishing of that YouTube video and thus can’t be blamed. “Plaintiff did not and cannot allege that Charlamagne had any involvement in the SELFTALK video,” they said. “Charlamagne did not identify, mention, or reference the Plaintiff during the audio recording.” They also cited the statute of limitations for defamation in New York having already passed when Charlamagne made the comments that were included in the video.

Charlamagne previously addressed the allegations during an episode of The Breakfast Club in July 2018. “The documents showed I did everything in my power to fully cooperate with authorities before this case was ultimately dismissed. But I cannot take responsibility for a crime that I did not commit. I am praying for healing for the victim, and I am committed to using my platform that God has blessed me with to do as much good as I possibly can for the rest of my life,” he said at the time. Big Sean’s new album Better Me Than You was a tender and impressive album, but it also held a few controversies and debatable qualities. Chief among them for many hip-hop fans online was the track “Yes,” which many people felt bit off of the vocal style of Baby Keem. Moreover, the Detroit MC was quick to subliminally respond to this online… Or at least, that’s what many fans interpreted when they saw this tweet: “Must not be familiar with my game.” During a new cover story with XXL, the Sean Don spoke directly about these accusations and this discussion. While he has a very understanding perspective, he also knows what the truth is.

“I saw a little bit of the conversation when the ‘Yes’ video dropped,” Big Sean expressed. “About like, ‘Oh, he’s trying to sound like him,’ or, ‘He’s trying to sound like Kendrick’ or, ‘He’s trying to sound like Baby Keem,’ or, ‘He’s trying to sound like…’ who knows? And I was kind of confused personally by it, but then when I did some research, I was like, ‘Oh, I see that.’

“But also I’ve been doing that since 2014, you know what I’m saying?” Big Sean posited. “Since even on a Drake clip that he posted, [where I’m rapping], ‘H*e, shut the f**k up,’ It’s really them flows or that ‘Paradise (Extended)’ that I literally listened to when I was making that stuff for… So, I can’t really read into it too much. I saw some of it, but I can’t be all up on the internet because that s**t’ll have you f***ed up.” Elsewhere during this interview, he also confirmed previous hints that a joint project with The Alchemist is coming out in the future.

Meanwhile, Big Sean also clarified whether or not he dissed Lil Yachty on the bonus track “Wire Me.” “I wasn’t talking about [Lil Yachty],” he told Complex. “Yachty is on the album as well. On ‘Yes,’ he’s doing ad-libs with me. No, I’m not taking a jab at Yachty. It was like a whole double entendre. If I was referencing him, that would have been a whole other entendre. He was in the studio with me while I was making the album. He actually has a verse on [‘Yes’] too. I might throw it on there later.”

Late last month, Tamar Braxton gifted Jeremy “JR” Robinson an extravagant chain for his birthday despite the two of them being single. Of course, the gesture left fans confused as to where the former pair currently stands, but up until recently, they appeared to be friends. Now, however, it looks like their relationship has taken a dramatic turn for the worse.

Recently, Braxton hopped on Instagram Live to put JR on blast after the Four Seasons in New Orleans charged her credit card. According to her, she wasn’t there, and quickly called JR to sort things out. She claims he had an attitude when she called, and that the hotel told her the reservation was under “Mr. Jeremy Robinson and his guest Ms. Jay.”

She, along with JR, denies this. “Payed IN MY FACE for a 25 year old!!!!!” Braxton captioned the screenshot. “Smh tool my jewelry took me to Turks and all along had a WHOLE TRAMP I hate you @jeremyrobinson.” Today, JR fired back at Braxton’s accusations, insisting that the whole thing was a misunderstanding. According to him, their cards share the same last three digits, which would explain the booking mix-up. Moreover, he says the woman Braxton called out on Instagram is just a “random woman,” and denies being with her.

“I have never led Tamar Braxton on; I never will, nor will I,” he also added. “You don’t just go on social media and start attacking somebody that you claim you love, that you care for as a friend. Then you post pictures of you and my daughters together, but then you’re throwing their dad under the bus. Spice also addressed Cleo’s claim that Spice’s team refused to buy her a chicken salad when she was hungry. “So for you to try to sit here and complain about a chicken salad? Earlier this weekend, Meek Mill took to X to call out Wack 100, accusing him of not being who he says he is. The rapper shared a clip of a man insisting that Wack isn’t a “real Piru” despite his claims. “Never been to a support the hood day… Nobody can verify where you came from … Talking a lot on clubhouse.. yeah he in a program forsure for sure!” Meek wrote. “Online with with fake extortion stories speaking on killing a famous person lol.”

From there, Meek shared a clip of Wack 100 and Luce Cannon on No Jumper, suggesting that they weren’t telling the truth. While it remains unclear exactly why Meek Mill decided to call Wack out like this, he wasted no time firing back.

Today, Wack took to Instagram to share a clip of Diddy approaching Meek Mill in a pool and calling him “Daddy.” His post also featured shocking audio rumored to feature both of them, though this is unconfirmed. “@meekmill please explain Guess this was ya hood day #Diddy get ya mans,” he captioned the post. Of course, Wack has been trolling Meek since fans began to speculate that he’s named in Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against Diddy. In the suit, Lil Rod alleges that Diddy had a sexual relationship with a “Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj.”

Meek Mill denies this, and got into it with DJ Akademiks back in February for perpetuating these rumors. Wack sided with Ak, and went off on Meek for claiming the governor convinced him to delete some of his posts about the personality. “Man look kill the selective politics . @meekmill just say your a reformed civilian and keep all the STREET GANGSTA TOUGH SH!T OUT YA MOUTH,” he wrote at the time. It’ll probably be a little before we know the causes of their tragic deaths, but the singer/songwriter phenom is asking for privacy and respect during this time. “I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time”, she told TMZ. In that same announcement, Carey expressed how hard it was for to reveal this information.

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed”. However, a close friend of Alison’s is disputing that she’s not as emotionally damaged as she is putting on. According to The Neighborhood Talk and an exclusive report from The U.S. Sun, David Baker divulged in the conversations he had with her, as he was around her for almost a decade trying to help her through health complications and her addictions.

Mr. Baker claims that Mariah never reached out in any way while during Alison’s final days even though she allegedly knew about the state she was in. But it never came. And now Mariah is ‘heartbroken’ by the loss of her mother and her ‘ex’ sister”. He also revealed that Alison was always thinking about whether or not Mariah and the rest of the family would attend her funeral. “Alison was unhappy that her ‘baby sister’ had cut off contact with her. She talked about it frequently. She wondered if Mariah or any of her relatives would come to her funeral”.

Earlier this week, Big Sean dropped off a new music video for his track “Yes,” sparking big reactions from some Baby Keem fans. The Detroit performer was immediately accused of copying Keem’s style, causing both of them to trend on X. “We really live in a world where baby keem has 40 year old sons,” one critic wrote. “Kendrick and Baby Keem bout to send Big Sean a cease and desist,” another claimed.

Luckily, plenty of fans rushed to Big Sean’s defense, pointing out that he’d been rapping that way long before Baby Keem. Now, it appears as though he’s taken to X to address the debacle for himself. “Must not be familiar wit my game,” he Tweeted last night. Clearly, Big Sean stands by his work and isn’t afraid to defend it if necessary.

Viral Breakdancer RayGun Faces “Unethical Conduct” Accusations In Massive Petition

Rachel Gunn, the breakdancer for Australia who goes by the name, RayGun, is facing accusations of “unethical conduct” after her viral performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Thousands of upset fans have signed a Change.org petition that claims she manipulated the selection process to her “own advantage” by setting up her “own governing body for breakdancing.” The statement is addressed to the Prime Minister of Australia and the Australian Olympic Committee.

“We, the undersigned, call for immediate accountability and transparency in the recent actions of Rachel Gunn and Anna Mears in the selection process for Australia’s female breakdancer representative at the upcoming Olympics,” the petition says. “Rachel Gunn, who set up her own governing body for breakdancing, has manipulated the selection process to her own advantage. Despite the clear talent and qualification of other outstanding female breakdancers like G Clef and Holy Molly, they were unfairly overlooked. The NT Youlong Boys, a group of incredibly talented and underprivileged youth from the Northern Territory, were denied crucial funding by Dr. Gunn to attend the qualifiers—a decision that directly impacted their chance to showcase their skills on a national stage.”

It doesn’t appear that Gunn has addressed the petition; however, she has spoken on the backlash she’s received over the quality of her performance. “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best—their power moves. What I bring is creativity,” she said during a press conference. “All of my moves are original. Creativity is really important to me. I go out there, and I show my artistry. Sometimes it speaks to the judges, and sometimes it doesn’t. I do my thing, and it represents art. That is what it is about.”

BossMan Dlow Responds To DJ Vlad’s Scamming Claims Amid Interview Debacle

BossMan Dlow has quickly become a premier talent out of the Florida rap scene over the last year. Numerous hits such as “Talk My S***”, “Get In With Me”, and “Mr Pot Scraper” have propelled him to this level. Even more impressive, all of them are on his 2024 project Mr Beat The Road. With so much support, he took the tape on a short tour, too. This period early on figures to be the springboard that will eventually lead him to become even bigger. However, early success almost always comes with roadblocks and this week is an example of that. On top of allegedly being arrested, BossMan Dlow is also dealing with some accusations from the likes of DJ Vlad.

Over an hour ago, the journalist called out the rapper’s supposed manager, Chris Silvers, of being difficult to work with. Vlad was getting into talks to get the MC on his platform for an interview, but the money has been an issue. Allegedly, Silvers has been refusing to give back the deposit while trying to get four times the amount they agreed on. This led to Vlad putting them on blast, lending a warning to anyone else who had plans of organizing something in the future. “I want to warn everyone out there who is booking @bossman_dlow. We recently gave his manager Chris Silvers a small deposit for an interview. After getting the deposit, he asked for 4 times the agreed upon amount and refused to return the deposit.”

However, DJ Vlad was quick to respond. “Yup – we were contacted from the same phone number that you listed on your official IG bio. Here is the proof. Like I said be a batter Bossman and get a real manager on your team.” So, someone is not telling the truth, or someone is impersonating as the rapper’s publicist.

On Saturday, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign surprised fans with the release of their new album, Vultures 2. The project arrived after various delays, and so far, has elicited mixed reactions from fans. While many are enjoying the 16-track LP, others think it left a lot to be desired. Last night, a message on the Yeezy website confirmed that “updated songs will be published in real time.” It’s to be seen whether or not this will satisfy critics.

The music itself isn’t the only thing about Vultures 2 sparking controversy, however. Geoff Barrow of Portishead took to X last night to accuse Ye and Ty of sampling his band’s 2008 song “Machine Gun” without permission. “For f*ck’s sake,” the musician wrote alongside a clip of the song. “Not again .”

News of Barrow’s complaints arrives shortly after LA-born artist Swsh called the duo out for allegedly failing to clear a sample with them. “When people keep thanking you for clearing the sample for Kanye but you literally found out this morning lol,” they wrote yesterday, clarifying that they had no idea their work would be used. Luckily, Swsh didn’t appear too upset over the situation, though fans urged them to at least consider seeking financial compensation.

Similarly, Barrow’s fans are encouraging him to take action, with some even suggesting he file a lawsuit against Ye. “Dude, you need to sue the f*cker,” one X user insists. “Jeezus, that’s not even sampling, they just used the entire song for a backing track for some sh*t karaoke.
