Lil Shordie Scott’s ‘Rocking A Cardigan In Atlanta’ Just Got An Offset Remix And A Cardi B Shoutout

Sometimes all it takes to get your song noticed is a tweet from Cardi B. Well, it’s not like Lil Shordie Scott didn’t already have a pretty sharp single out with his Cardi B-referencing “Rocking A Cardigan In Atlanta,” but once Cardi herself is acknowledging the song on social media, and her husband Offset is jumping on the remix, things start happening fast.

Three months ago, the Atlanta rapper uploaded his “Rocking A Cardigan In Atlanta” song to Youtube, and it’s racked up about two and a half million views since then. The song starts off with what Scott himself describes as a long intro, where three friends debate what celebrity they’d most like to take a photo with. Doja Cat and Rihanna are both thrown out as ideas, but Scott is set on Cardi B, who he thinks has a great “big sister” vibe. Then, the home video vibes of the clip shift to a drip genie rather magically making his way to their hang, and setting Scott up with a fresh cardigan. That’s when the song kicks in, and well, it was enough to catch the attention of Offset and Cardi.

Check out the original video below, and the remix with Offset up top.

For his part, Scott is pretty excited to get that Cardi B acknowledgement:

Congrats Shordie, this might well be the beginning of a viral hit, and even if it isn’t, having the subject of your song acknowledge it is still a huge win.

Cardi B & Offset Reveal Photo of Their Son, “Wave”

Cardi B

Cardi B and Offset weren’t hiding their son from the world, they were hiding the world from their son. They finally decided we’re worthy enough to see their baby boy, and he looks just like big sister, Kulture. After setting her 3-year-old daughter Kulture’s Instagram account private due to internet trolls flooding her page with […]

Cardi B And Offset Finally Reveal The Name And First Photos Of Their Son

It’s been about seven months since Cardi B gave birth to her and Offset’s second child, a boy. They’ve been secretive about their latest bundle of joy, though, not sharing any photos of the baby or even his name. Now, though, they’ve made the big reveal, offering the first pictures of the boy and revealing his name is Wave Set Cephus.

Cardi and Offset both shared photos of the adorable kid last night, in which he’s decked out in chains. Offset made the name reveal, captioning his post, “WAVE SET CEPHUS.”

Furthermore, the family is the subject of a new Essence profile. In it, Cardi explains why she and Offset waited so long to share info about their son, saying, “We went through a lot of sad things when it comes to Kulture — terrible behavior that not even the older kids have ever been through. So many people will post mean, disgusting things, just to get a reaction from us. We want to protect our feelings, because we get very, very angry and upset.”

Offset also described the tone of his and Cardi’s relationship, saying, “It might sound weird, but we don’t always put love first — because sometimes you can put love before work and mess up your career, because you’re not focused. Love is important, but if you’ve got that foundation, we should respect each other and what we have going on. I had never experienced a woman that was working like me and doing what I’m doing. It turns me on. She does her own thing. She likes the hustle, so that ain’t never getting in between our love.”

Offset Requests To Have A $950K Judgment Over A Supposedly Stolen Bentley Reversed

Migos member Offset wants a court to reverse a recent default judgment against him for a missing rental car. Rolling Stone reports that Offset filed a statement in the case for the first time, denying that he kept the car, a Bentley, and disputing the massive $950,027 award, which is more than five times the value of the vehicle.

According to Offset, the car was rented by Oriel Williams, the mother of one of his five children, a fact that was made clear to the rental company, Platinum Transportation Group. He had agreed to cover the cost, but when Williams alerted him that the car had gone missing in July 2020, he says he immediately informed the company and was told that PML would report the car stolen.

However, it seems he didn’t know he would be held liable for it, as he was never listed as an additional driver on the rental agreement to his knowledge. “Not hearing otherwise from PML or the Los Angeles Police Department in 2020 or thereafter, I assumed that the Bentley — which was very unique and which I believed was protected with OnStar or some other electronic detection device — had either been recovered or that any loss had been covered by PML’s insurance,” he wrote in the statement.

However, the car was worth only $177,521, and Offset says PML misled the court to obtain a higher judgment. He says he was never served the lawsuit in the first place, due to the company mailing it to an address previously rented by his father and where he never lived. In addition to saying he did not authorize his father to receive his mail, Offset also asserts that he only found out about the lawsuit when his wife Cardi B‘s entertainment law firm noticed it in the LA Superior Court computer system.

A hearing has been set for May to resolve the issue, with no comments on the record as yet from Platinum’s legal counsel.

Cardi B To Guest-Star On “Baby Shark’s” Series As ‘Sharki B’

Cardi B baby shark's

Cardi B is set to guest star on Nickelodeon’s Baby Shark’s Big Show.

The 29-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper will be joined by both her husband Offset and daughter Kulture on the episode, which will air April 15th.

The character Cardi will play will be named Sharki B, fittingly. A press release from Billboard describes Sharki B as “the biggest star in the seven seas. Flashy, awe-inspiring, and ruthlessly fun—but always 100% herself.”

The whole family landed the animated gig on the special episode “The Seaweed Sway,” airing air April 15th. Offset will voice ‘Offshark’ described as, “a cool fish with a great vibe and a huge Sharki fan,” and Kulture will voice Kulture Shark ‘Offshark’s three-year-old daughter who is excited to attend Sharki’s big concert with her dad.

Cardi B Will Make For One Adorable Fish In Her Guest-Starring Role On ‘Baby Shark’s Big Show’

Anyone raising small kids — or who has been in their immediate vicinity in the last five years — knows (and is likely sick to death) of South Korean entertainment company Pinkfong’s near-ubiquitous and insanely popular version of the song “Baby Shark.” Originally a campfire song inspired by Jaws (the ’80s were a weird time, man), the Pinkfong version has become one of the most-played videos on YouTube (10 billion views and counting, as of this January) and was spun off into a Nick Jr. animated series, Baby Shark’s Big Show!

As a mom herself, Cardi B has likely contributed .01 percent of those view totals herself (that’s a million, folks) but being Cardi B, she’s found a way to turn what may have been a frustrating parental imperative into a potentially lucrative opportunity: Billboard reports the “Up” rapper will guest star on Baby Shark’s Big Show! alongside her husband Offset and three-year-old Kulture. Cardi will portray an animated version of herself called Sharki B, while Offset will be Offshark, and she’ll perform a new song called “The Seaweed Sway.”

Cardi is actually a big fan of “Baby Shark,” as you can see from the video she posted back in 2019, while she also tweeted that Kulture is a big fan of the “whole Baby Shark mixtape.” While this is almost certainly a dream come true for Kulture, Cardi’s beef with Peppa Pig remains unresolved. Maybe she can turn that into a guest-starring role too.

Cardi’s guest-starring episode of Baby Shark’s Big Show! will air 04/15 on Nickelodeon/Nick Jr.
