Offset’s Beef With Quality Control Stems From 2015 Capitol Records Deal: Report

The legal saga between Offset and Quality Control continues as the rapper plots on the release of his sophomore solo album. On Sunday night, the rapper expressed his grievances with the label on Twitter. “Never thought life be this f*cked up. I can’t drop music also,” he wrote. Unfortunately, while fans believed this issue arose in 2021, it turns out that Offset’s issues with Quality Control go back to 2015, well before Migos released the first installment in the Culture series, TMZ reports.

According to court documents, Set agreed to produce solo records for Quality Control back in 2013 when the Migos were just beginning to get their feet wet. However, things took a turn in 2015 when Quality Control entered a deal with Capitol Records, which resulted in their ownership of every solo record that Offset released between 2018 to 2023. At the time, it didn’t seem like the rapper had any issues with the deal, especially as the Migos were just about to have their massive breakout moment. However, things changed when Offset tried to renegotiate his deal.

Offset’s Lawsuit Against QC: Explained

In 2021, Offset struck a deal with Quality Control to regain control of his solo music. The deal stated that from Jan. 2021, he had ownership of all of his solo music, his attorney Bryan Freedman said in a new filing. However, Quality Control apparently didn’t see it the same way. QC said that still have full ownership due to their previous deal with Capitol Records, which Offset feels is ridiculous. His attorney argued that QC gave up the rights to his music when they negotiated a deal, leaving Offset with full control of his masters.

Ultimately, it seems like this fight between Offset and Quality Control is far from over. While Offset still has a prosperous career, there’s still a lot of money at the center of this lawsuit and the case is already moving through the court system. Hopefully, the two parties will be able to come to a conclusion soon, especially as Offset continues to tease new music. So far, he hasn’t set a release date for his next album but it seems like he’ll need to settle this lawsuit before it arrives in its entirety.

Offset Shows Off His Favourite Morning View: Cardi B’s Cake

Offset and Cardi B’s relationship hasn’t always been as picture-perfect as it appears before us today, chiefly thanks to the former Migos rapper’s dedication to changing his unfaithful ways. A few months ago, the Invasion of Privacy artist appeared on the debut episode of Jason Lee’s new podcast, at which time she candidly spoke about how her move to divorce the father of five is what pushed him to get his act together and avoid losing his family. “Me and Offset, we was not seeing eye to eye,” she recalled during the January interview.

“The main thing that I wanted to stop and everything, he stopped,” she confirmed, seemingly referring to his previous acts of infidelity. “He changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me.” It seems this change in Offset’s behaviour has been enough to get him and Cardi back on the right path, as he happily revealed his curvaceous morning view in the form of her booty cheeks on his Instagram Story earlier this week.

Offset Flexes His Wife’s Figure

No caption was necessary for the post, which simply shows off Cardi and her famous booty tattoo in nothing more than a dark red thong. While it may be far out of the comfort zone of your average couple to share something so salacious, Offset and his wife have become accustomed to packing on the PDA everywhere from the red carpet to all over social media. Just last month, the “Be Careful” hitmaker shared a sweet clip of her and her partner sharing some wholesome smooches first thing in the morning that earned plenty of attention online.

Elsewhere on Instagram, Cardi B made it known this past weekend that, while she and her man don’t mind showing off their bodies, and definitely have a healthy sex life, she doesn’t believe other women who brag about getting between the sheets with their partner multiple times a day. “You practically telling the world that your man on drugs,” she speculated shortly after Larsa Pippen claimed that she and Scottie got it on four times a night, every night, for 23 years straight. Offset Teases New Track & Visuals On Instagram

While he’s currently embroiled in beef with his label Quality Control Music over the rights to his music and being able to release it, Offset continues to tease fans with his next album. Moreover, he just shared a song snippet with accompanying visuals on his Instagram page. In the clip, he flaunts various stylish outfits as he spits bars on his success, influence, and status in the game. Even though it’s been a rocky road for the Migos rapper, he seems committed to giving fans what he can to hold them over. Many eagerly anticipate his next project and expressed support for his rights as an artist.

Still, the situation with QCM is quite murky, dealing with issues of copyright and ownership of new material. Despite his struggles, it’s certainly not the first time Offset gave fans a peek at what’s to come. For example, he recently previewed a posthumous collaboration with his late cousin Takeoff featuring Icewear Vezzo. With that in mind, more eyes than ever are on the Georgia native’s every move, whether it’s for his legal battle or the next chapter in his career.

Offset Gets Fans Excited Again For New Album

However, all that is moot if fans aren’t excited about the new album in question. For this new teaser in particular, it seems Offset continued to push the trap formula forward with some heat. He flows with confidence and a measured pace over a slightly ethereal but bass-heavy trap instrumental. Of course, it’s by no means uncharted territory for ‘Set, but the question here is (ironically) about quality control. Amid tragedy, label disputes, and a strained relationship with Quavo, he can clearly still drop engaging trap cuts that build on his already established sound and legacy.

On the note of the QCM battle, the “54321” MC recently took to Twitter to air out his frustrations. “Never thought life be this f***ed up #LLTake. I can’t drop music also” he tweeted. “Black ppl holding black ppl back,” he wrote in another message. From what reports indicate, he and Quality Control disagree over what music the label owns, and whether they can profit from his new deal with Capitol. Hopefully that gets sorted out internally, rightfully, and in a way that doesn’t dilute his art any further. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Offset.

Offset Blasts Quality Control Music On Twitter

Offset just set off a bomb on Twitter by confirming his label issues with Quality Control and his inability to drop music. Moreover, he took to Twitter on Saturday (April 1) and let off a few tweets seemingly aimed at the label, though hopefully it’s a poorly-timed April Fool’s. “Never thought life be this f***ed up #LLTake,” the Georgia rapper tweeted, adding a rocket emoji. “I can’t drop music also.” In a separate tweet, he wrote, “Black ppl holding black ppl back.” Furthermore, many in the comments expressed support for ‘Set, not only amid his label issues but given his grief.

What’s more is that this follows reports of details concerning the Migos MC’s lawsuit against his record higher-ups. “Offset now brings this action to vindicate his rights and make it clear to the world that Offset, not Quality Control, owns Offset’s music,” the suit stated. Around 2021, he “came to understand the full ramification of the deal that he entered into,” according to the lawsuit, and fought with the label over who owned his work. It seems like he sold his previous music but got out of his contract, yet QCM still tried to claim rights for his song “54321.”

Offset Expresses Frustration On Social Media Amid Label Drama

However, this is still a murky situation, especially given the record company’s stance on it. “The label claimed it had an agreement with Capitol Records that required Capitol to assign all of Capitol’s rights in sound recordings obtained by Quality Control’s ‘Accepted Artist’ that it had furnished to Capitol back to Quality Control,” a RadarOnline report read. Still, the 31-year-old’s lawyer maintained a different perspective.

“Quality Control no longer owns the copyright to Offset’s solo sound recordings and is no longer licensing Offset’s solo sound recordings to Capitol, and Capitol has acquired ownership of Offset’s solo sound recordings directly from Offset,” they expressed. With all this in mind, Offset’s solo future remains in the balance musically, but there’s no doubt he still has many fans behind him. As such, hopefully this can get cleared out amongst the two parties to result in a less heated and scrutinized public beef. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on QCM and Offset.

Cardi B Celebrates Selling 2 Million Cans Of Whipshots

Cardi B just went double platinum! Well, sort of. The rapper is celebrating selling 2 million cans of Whipshots. If you haven’t heard of them, Whipshots are cans of whipped cream that have been infused with vodka. Alcohol-infused whipped cream has been around since 2005, but it wasn’t always as popular. The number of sales, in this case, is certainly due in large part to Cardi B’s fame. Celebrity brand deals have helped move plenty of products, and many stars lend their names to alcoholic drinks. Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Michael Jordan, and many others have promoted their own alcoholic drinks to varying degrees of success. Cardi B, however, wanted to promote something she would enjoy as someone who isn’t a “hardcore liquor drinker.”

Cardi partnered with Starco Brands in 2021 to promote Whipshots. Having sold 2 million units in just two years, it’s fair to say that this brand deal was quite a success. In a statement, Cardi praised the product, calling it “sexy and tasty.” She added that she was thankful for her fans and those that are supporting the brand. “Boozy and beautiful since day one, and two million cans later, there is no slowing us down,” she said. “I love the fans supporting our brand — let’s keep this party going!”

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Although her partnership with Starco Brands and Whipshots has been a huge success, not every brand deal has worked out for Cardi in recent years. Back in 2022, Cardi took to Twitter to talk about losing a multi-million dollar deal with Call of Duty. At the time, she was embroiled in a court case related to the fact that she admitted to hiring men to beat up a woman that worked at a strip club in Queens. She was only sentenced to community service after pleading guilty to lesser charges, but she lost millions of dollars because of it. Still, that doesn’t mean Cardi B has any lack of brand deals or offers.

Both Cardi and Offset appeared in a McDonald’s Super Bowl commercial. In the commercial, they announced their joint meal at the fast food franchise. The meal is one of many special celebrity McDonald’s meals in recent years, and was officially released on February 14. “This is sooo dope !!!!! A club did a Cardi & Offset meal theme,” Cardi said about the meal. “Why I ain’t thought about this?! I love this ….I love cheeseburgers and bad b*tches.”

Offset Claims Quality Control Music Is Interfering With Ability To Release Music: Report

The rift between Offset and Quality Control may seem quiet on social media, but it’s heating up in the courtroom. The Migos star has gone to war with the label he once loved concerning his rights as a solo artist. Rumors about tension within Migos surfaced, and they were bolstered when Takeoff and Quavo released a joint project, Unc & Phew. Offset then pursued his solo career, which was quickly halted when the news of a lawsuit was shared.

The rapper reportedly took Quality Control Music to court, and they’ve been warring over who owns his solo recordings. The label wants to be credited, but it seems Offset is looking to distance himself. Radar Online claims to have obtained documents about the case, and the Rap star reportedly said QCM was interfering with his ability to release new music. In 2021, reads the documents, Set “came to understand the full ramification of the deal that he entered into.”

Offset & Quality Control Music At Odds

DECATUR, GA – August 23: Pierre “Pee” Thomas and Offset of the Group “Migos” attend Lil Yachty’s Surprise Birthday Lunch at Cici’s Pizza on August 23, 2016 in Decatur, Georgia.

After reviewing his contract, Set wanted to fly solo, contending he and QCM even negotiated a deal. In it, he could “reclaim the rights to his solo recording and songwriting,” Radar reported. Further, Offset stated he paid his label “handsomely” for the rights to his music. However, after releasing his track “54321,” QCM reportedly attempted to claim rights to the song.

“Offset now brings this action to vindicate his rights and make it clear to the world that Offset, not Quality Control, owns Offset’s music,” the lawsuit read. Meanwhile, Quality Control Music has asked for the suit to be tossed. According to Radar Online: “The label claimed it had an agreement with Capitol Records that required Capitol to assign all of Capitol’s rights in sound recordings obtained by Quality Control’s ‘Accepted Artist’ that it had furnished to Capitol back to Quality Control.” The rapper wants his newer agreement with QCM to trump whatever agreement the label had.

New Beginnings

Additionally, the rapper’s lawyer stated, “Quality Control no longer owns the copyright to Offset’s solo sound recordings and is no longer licensing Offset’s solo sound recordings to Capitol, and Capitol has acquired ownership of Offset’s solo sound recordings directly from Offset.” We’ll keep you updated as this case continues to unfold.

Cardi B, Offset, And Kulture’s ‘Baby Shark’ Characters Will Return In ‘Baby Shark’s Big Movie’

I hope you’re not tired of doing the “Seaweed Sway” yet, because Baby Shark’s Big Movie is coming to Paramount + and Sharki B — aka Cardi B — is coming along for the ride. Naturally, Cardi will reprise her Baby Shark’s Big Show! character along with her husband Offshark (Offset), and daughter Kulture Shark (Kulture). And hey, since they’ve got a new aquatically-named rugrat running around, it looks like Wave is also included in the cast list.

Cardi excitedly shared the news on Twitter, writing, “Happy to announce that me & my family will be in the BABY SHARKS BIG MOVIE!!!!!” Included in the casting announcement are other stars like Ashley Tisdale, Lance Bass (whose name is already the perfect fish pun), K-pop band Enhypen, Saturday Night Live regulars Ego Nwodim and Chloe Fineman, and comedian Aparna Nancherla.

Cardi, Offset, and Kulture first guest-starred on Baby Shark’s Big Show! last spring, when they appeared as animated, brightly-colored versions of themselves to perform a new song by Cardi, “The Seaweed Sway.” The titular protagnist danced with Sharki B and her family during a concert in the episode, showing off the accompanying dance. Fun fact: In Korea, where Baby Shark originates, Sharki B is played by K-pop star CL.

According to People:

The movie will follow Baby Shark and his family as they move to Chomp City, the big city of sharks. Not only will Baby Shark be forced to adjust to life without his best friend William nearby, but he’ll also encounter an evil pop starfish who plans to steal his gift of song in order to dominate all underwater music. Baby Shark has to embark on a mission to break her spell to restore harmony to the seas.

Baby Shark’s Big Movie is set for release during the holiday season.

Cardi B Cuddles With Offset In Cute Instagram Clip

Cardi B just posted a wholesome video of her cuddling with Offset as she gives him kisses on her Instagram Story. Sure, it might ick out those averse to PDA, but it’s still a sweet moment, and certainly sweeter than some of their other public interactions. Of course, they’re one of the most talked about couples in the hip-hop landscape, known as much for their music as for their antics individually and together. However, even the most cold-hearted of individuals might find it hard to make a fuss out of this. Moreover, they both laughed at each other as she sang a viral song.

“Running man I don’t want no other man,” the South Bronx rapper captioned her cute Story post. She had a big week, as she emerged victorious in a legal battle against blogger Tasha K. Furthermore, reports came in around Tuesday (March 21) that Tasha lost her subsequent appeal, thus having to pay Cardi $4 million for defamation damages. “Damn Winos!” K wrote via Twitter. “We lost the appeal… against #CardiB sad day.. but I’m gonna be alright… I appreciate all your love & support. Throughout this fight. Today we throw in the white flag… what happened will never happen again… To Cardi & Her team, I apologize sincere. We Live, & Learn.”

Offset Showers Cardi B With Kisses Amid Cuddles

Meanwhile, Offset recently hit the Gram with a clip of his own, but this one related to upcoming music. Furthermore, he teased a posthumous collaboration with late cousin, rapper, and fellow Migos member Takeoff, as well as Detroit native Icewear Vezzo. Not only that, but he also continued to tease his upcoming album, which should come soon after hints at Moneybagg Yo and Future collaborations. For longtime fans of the iconic Atlanta trio, Offset and Takeoff’s reunion could provide some catharsis after tragedy struck.

Even though his relationship with Quavo is definitely rocky at this point, fans still hope they can reconcile. Until that day, Offset and Cardi will likely continue to honor Takeoff in their own way and navigate the industry without him. Moreover, their latest exploit was their McDonald’s deal receiving backlash from some of its locations. Regardless of that controversy, stick around on HNHH for the latest on Cardi B and Offset.
