21 Lil Harold & BigXthaPlug Are Becoming Stars On “Gin & Juice”

21 Lil Harold & BigXthaPlug have been two of the most entertaining up-and-comers as of late. Both borrow from their respective corners of Southern hip-hop. Lil Harold grew up in Atlanta and is a longtime friend of 21 Savage. Which makes sense, considering their stage names are the same and he utilizes the “P***y” adlib quite often with a slightly different delivery. As for BigX, he hails from Dallas, Texas. The 25-year-old possesses one of the best mic presences in modern-day rap with his deep and husky cadence.

Both also have their fair share of bangers and big-time collaborations. Lil Harold had some background vocals on Savage’s third studio album, american dream, earlier this year. You can find him on “dangerous” and “letter to my brudda.” He also had a fantastic single with JID not too long ago. Furthermore, he will be joining Savage, JID, and Nardo Wick for The American Dream Tour that kicks off in May. BigX had a big 2023 with the release of two projects, THE BIGGEST and AMAR. Those saw him work alongside Offset, Sauce Walka, Finesse2tymes and more.

Now, these two soon-to-be-stars are teaming up for the first time on “Gin & Juice.” However, this one shares no similarities to Snoop Dogg’s classic. The beat on this song slaps hard with the soulful vocal samples that return every now and again. The bass is resonant, and the string sections add a big budget feel to everything. Both rappers deliver sticky flows as well and it all comes together. Be sure to check this one out ASAP.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Gin & Juice,” by 21 Lil Harold and BigXthaPlug? Is this better than “Sundown” with JID, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the strongest performance on the track and why? If an album is coming soon, do these last two efforts have you excited? DaeMoney Nabs LUCKI & Veeze For Dreamy “JAPANESE DENIM”

Veeze and LUCKI have been tearing things up lately in the rap game. Their idiosyncratic and mumbly styles have captivated fans as their legends continue to grow. However, there is another kid on the block that is starting to earn his stripes similar to these two. That artist goes by DaeMoney and like Veeze, he also hails from the blue-collar city of Detroit. Today, he makes his debut on the site and what better way than to do it by collaborating with the aforementioned stars. Additionally, DaeMoney’s “JAPANESE DENIM” lands on his new album.

This is not the first time that Dae and Veeze have worked together. You can also check out tracks such as “Gta,” which also has LUCKI, “Who Is That?” and “Fingers Crossed.” DaeMoney’s “JAPANESE DENIM” is a whimsical and hazy cut that sees each rapper flexing. If you are not familiar, Japenese-stitched denim is very expensive due to the way its made on top of the high-end materials used.

Joyner Lucas & Conway The Machine Flex Their Lyrical Muscles On “Sticks & Stones”

Massachusetts rapper Joyner Lucas is a confusing rapper at times. He can truly blow you away with his technical ability. However, there are other instances where he comes across as bland and forgettable. Every artist has moments like that, but it seems that fans hold him to a higher standard. Other reasons for his inconsistencies are because of his projects and their rollouts. ADHD had way too many singles released ahead of it, leading to a fairly boring album listen. The same can be said about Not Now, I’m Busy.

In a lengthy November Instagram post, Joyner revealed that the album was in the works for about two years and was finished five months prior. However, due to the reactions that fans were giving to the singles, Joyner felt it was not a project that fans would enjoy. So, he decided to scrap that record that was expected to drop last year and has been reshaping the tracklist ever since. According to Genius, the songs that are rumored to make the final cut have been trimmed down to six, instead of seven.

“Blackout” with Future, and “Devil’s Work 2,” are currently not on the LP. One of the tracks that will take its place is “Sticks & Stones” with Conway the Machine. The song sees the production fit what the Buffalo MC is used to rapping over and Joyner does a solid job fitting in. On top of those changes we just mentioned, Not Now, I’m Busy is getting a brand-new cover art and official release date. The original artwork saw Joyner falling out of the sky with an exploding orange car. This new one has an orange color scheme, but the big change shows Lucas’s face in a bloody close-up. Fans should expect the tape to drop on March 22.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Sticks & Stones,” by Joyner Lucas and Conway the Machine? Is this the best single from Not Now, I’m Busy, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the strongest performance on the track and why? Is this going to be an album of the year contender, or did the hype die out for you? Cardi B Gets Fans Riled Up Over New Single, “Like What (Freestyle)”: See Reactions

Cardi B is back, and the Bardi Gang couldn’t be happier with her new single, the vicious “Like What (Freestyle).” Moreover, social media lit up with a firestorm of reactions, whether they were excited, skeptical, critical, or simply happy to have an album rollout finally in our hands. Sure, there was the Megan Thee Stallion collab “Bongos” last year, but this feels like a more elaborate and special drop with more anticipation behind it. After all, both femcees basically did a dual comeback moment, and they both went on to provide the true individual kick-offs to their respective new eras.

Furthermore, a lot of fans broke down the bars on “Like What (Freestyle),” commented on the Missy Elliott and Timbaland sampling in the beat, and spoke on Cardi B’s performance as a rapper. Overall, reactions seem pretty positive online, and most folks understood the assignment and are looking at this as a straight-up rap song. But another notable aspect that folks found curious was the fact that the Bronx rapper’s on-and-off-again husband, Offset, directed the video. The Bardi Gang reacted particularly wildly to this, as their relationship status is still unclear.

Fans React To Cardi B’s “Like What (Freestyle)”: The Good, The Bad & The Bardi

For example, a Valentine’s Day date indicated that they were patching things up following news that they were split for a while. In addition, they both continued to support each other’s moves and, clearly, chose to eschew this personal separation’s impact on their professional working relationship. Regardless, Cardi B’s listeners have a lot more to chew on, such as brand references, cheeky turns of phrase, and a whole lot of attitude. It’s great to see her reenergized like this, and you can check out more fan reactions down below.

Skepta Experiments With Afrobeats On Laid-Back “Tony Montana” Featuring Portable & JAE5

There are a lot of artists we are dying to hear new projects from. After a fairly uneventful year in 2023 from the mainstream, everyone is making up for lost time. They are also looking to prove that the genre is still alive and deserves its flowers as one of the top subsets of music across the globe. One of those rappers making a highly-awaited return is Skepta. At the turn of 2024, the UK great announced Knife and Fork, his first foray back into rap since 2020’s Insomnia. Skepta is back to teasing the record with “Tony Montana.”

This is now the third single that will land on his seventh project. He got off to a strong start releasing “Jangrova” back on January 19 with Tribal Mark, ODUMODUBLVCK, and Idris Elba (IDRIS). Then, just a week later, he would go on to put out the controversial single “Gas Me Up (Diligent)” with production from Cardo. Its cover art, which fans believed made disgusting callbacks to The Holocaust, was eventually taken down after pushback from Skepta.

All of that brings us to “Tony Montana,” which is a drastic deviation from the usual sonics we are accustomed to hearing from the grime icon. Skepta goes for more of an Afrobeat vibe, which has been taking over as of late. To help bring some more African authenticity, Portable, a Nigerian singer and rapper delivers the chorus. It is easily the most chill example we have heard out of the three and it features production from JAE5, a popular UK producer.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Tony Montana,” by Skepta, Portable, and JAE5? Is this the best single from Knife and Fork, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the strongest performance on the track and why? Is this going to be an album of the year contender? DaBaby Goes Buck Wild On New Single “GRAMMY PARTY”

It really is not a secret anymore that for most hip-hop fans, DaBaby has gotten stale. His 2022 sequel record, Baby On Baby 2, left quite a sour taste in people’s mouths. Especially after the first installment had more memorable tracks like “Suge,” “Goin Baby,” “Baby Sitter,” and more. However, 2024 could be the year DaBaby turns things around.

The Cleveland, Ohio born rapper is back with his first solo release since his three track EP LET’S DO IT. That dropped back in October, so fans have been patiently waiting. “GRAMMY PARTY” sees DaBaby go insanely wild, as he raps with blistering speed over a bassy beat. He really packs a lot of words into each line, showcasing his technical abilities.

Chloe Bailey Wants Real Love On “FYS”

Chloe and Halle Bailey have built strong careers for themselves over the past couple of years. Both are multi-talented in their own way and it has led to some amazing defining moments for them. For example, Halle landed the starring role in the live-action remake of the beloved Disney film The Little Mermaid. For Chloe, she has been thriving in the modeling department. All the proof you need is her bevy of Instagram photo dumps that fans have been thirsting over. Today though, Chloe Bailey is ditching the cameras and bright lights for a new single called “FYS.”

This marks the soon-to-be 26-year-old’s first single since the fourth teaser to her debut album, In Pieces. The title track dropped nearly a year ago to the day, so it has been a long time coming for Chloe. She is another R&B songstress with a buttery smooth voice. For us, it is one that we enjoy hearing when we can.

The main message she is getting across on “FYS” or (F*** Your Status), is that Chloe wants to love the person and not what they own. She sums it perfectly, “So I wrote this song to be like “f*** your status,” it doesn’t matter because I have this on my own. So you having cars and you having money it doesn’t really matter… I just want to love you.” Chloe continues, “This song is really just about loving someone for who they are and not what they have or can give you monetarily wise.”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “FYS,” by Chloe Bailey? Is this the best solo song release of her career, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Cardi B Finally Returns With Highly-Anticipated “Like What (Freestyle)”

Back on February 20, on-again, off-again partner of Cardi B, Offset, was encouraging his boo to drop her next LP. “Stop being scary and drop the album s**t goes crazy.” While there was not any audio, he was giving his best stank-face for whatever he was teasing in the video. That anticipation deepened after her die-hard supporters were begging for her to return after a series of memes and a #WhereIsCardi poster.

Well, we can finally say that Cardi B is at least slowly rebuilding as she finally dropped “Like What (Freestyle).” This marks The Bronx rapper’s first single since last September with the highly-maligned “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion.” Additionally, an album rollout could be underway as well. If you watch to the end of the music video, directed by Offset, you will see a message that says, “Just beginning… stay tuned.”

Matt Champion Unleashes Danceable New Single “Slug”

It looks like 2024 will be a major year for former Brockhampton member Matt Champion, who dropped off his second solo offering of this month earlier this week. Towards the beginning of February, the performer teamed up with Dijon to unleash the melancholy single “Aphid.” Now, the Texas-born performer has delivered yet another atmospheric track, “Slug.”

The bright single also arrives alongside a creative accompanying music video, which sees the performer covered in slime, dancing in a clear plastic bubble in the woods. Eventually, he’s joined by several other dancers, who confidently strut around him as he crawls around on the ground looking out of place. The fun, danceable track is grounded by heartfelt lyrics about pining for someone to love, and being willing to do anything to keep them around.
