4batz Returns With “Roll Da Dice” Featuring Lil Baby

For 4batz, things have not gotten off to a roaring start, to say the least. Overall, there are some listeners out there who find the Dallas, Texas native to be unique. But the majority are deeming him as boring and an industry plant. Overall, we are sort of in the middle, as 4batz certainly possesses an interesting delivery. It can lead to some fun and sticky melodies like the ones you’ll hear on “act ii: date @ 8”. In the that same breath, though, he’s lacking a bit in terms of songwriting and ear for production. Hopefully, with all of the high-profile connections he already has, such as Drake, Kanye West, and USHER, he can continue to develop.

He’s certainly in an interesting spot right now, as he’s a few months removed from his debut EP, u made me a st4r. The reviews weren’t favorable, so he can opt for trying something new or try and improve and make his existing approach more interesting. This weekend, 4batz is pretty much opting for the latter with this Lil Baby collab, “roll da dice”. Here, both rappers are showing the willingness to go all in on their love interests and take things to the next level. See if 4batz can you change your opinion about him with the link down below.

Pi’erre Bourne Celebrates His Birthday By Dropping Off “Blocs”

Just yesterday it was “Bourne Day” for Pi’erre Bourne. The idiosyncratic rapper and producer is now 31-years-young, so happy birthday to the South Carolina native! For the last several years, he’s given us plenty of pop rap/trap bangers with some of the biggest names in the game. However, he’s also got loads of hits under his own belt as an MC. He’s been laying down rhymes since 2018 and he’s got tons of releases to show for it. At this moment in time, there is a very strong belief and sense of hope from his fans that there will be yet another addition to his LP catalog. That album is Made In Paris, which sounds like exactly what it means.

All of the eventual tracks that will go on to land on this future project are recordings laid down in France’s most iconic city. However, there is not really any confirmed information regarding its release date, but people are speculating October. While we wait in the wings for that, Pi’erre Bourne is here with “Blocs”, a highly awaited track in his canon. As we mentioned, his birthday was yesterday. So, this is essentially a gift back to his loyal supporters and it’s out now on his Instagram only. You can check out the five-minute single and accompanying music video via the link below.

Meek Mill Brings More Of His Signature Style With “CYBER TRUCK”

Over the last several months to a year, Meek Mill has been subject to a lot of online mockery and jokes. His supposed ties to the embattled Sean “Diddy” Combs and his slew of allegations has led people to view him as somewhat of a court jester. On top of that, his recent material has also not been too exciting or engaging in the eyes of many. Last year, the former MMG signee teamed up with his ex-boss, Rick Ross, for a set of luxury and East Coast raps with Too Good To Be True.

Moving into 2024, the Philadelphia MC has been dropping some spot singles, as well as an EP, HEATHENISM, back in February. Now, Meek Mill is back with “CYBER TRUCK”, an extremely braggadocious single that follows the traditional formula. What we mean by that, is that the Dreamchasers creator is rapping like the rent is due over an anthemic instrumental. Overall, we can appreciate this song’s cutthroat approach, as Meek ditches the chorus and bridges for straight-up blistering verses with bars that have made him who we’ve known him to be all these years. He may be an interesting spot right now, but hopefully “CYBER TRUCK” is a sign of good things to come for him.

Ray Vaughn & SiR Keep It Real On “Everybody Dies” Collab

If you haven’t been paying attention to Ray Vaughn’s career trajectory, you may want to consider doing so. The Long Beach, California native is one of TDE’s newest signees and one they see carrying the label moving forward. We can see the vision on that outlook for him because he’s got a lot like. For one, his voice is pretty standout and versatile. It meshes well in both serious and fun applications. Additionally, it comes across as effortlessly and genuinely passionate. Some artists deliveries can come across as forced, but not Ray’s. Additionally, he’s a pretty clever writer already and we can only see him improving more over time. Both of this sought after skills are prominently displayed on this newest Ray Vaughn single, “Everybody Dies”.

He hasn’t announced anything yet, but this one of many records he’s put out in the last seven months. To be exact, this is his eighth solo release of 2024, with a ninth alongside NLE Choppa coming this Friday. We aren’t really sure why we haven’t gotten world on his debut yet, but we hope something comes through soon. We say that because nearly all of these tracks have had something compelling to offer. In the case of “Everybody Dies”, which features fellow label mate SiR, both artists deliver passionate introspective and inspirational lines about living life to its fullest, flaws, and overcoming hurdles.

Nardo Wick & BossMan Dlow Remind Everyone Who They Are On “Oh Sh*t”

Nardo Wick has been building a career by bringing a murderous and unforgiving tone to his music. He’s drawn a lot from the playbook of former collaborator 21 Savage, and it was cool to see them tour together during the American Dream run. Since starting his professional career four years ago, the 22-year-old MC has just gotten better and better. However, with all of that time, there’s still only one project to show for it. That would be his 2021 debut, Who is Nardo Wick? In that same breath though, it seems that the Jacksonville native has been hard at work on his sophomore release. Proof of that comes in the form of “Oh Sh*t”, the first song between Nardo Wick and BossMan Dlow.

Both have been doing their thing, so it’s nice to see the bubbling Floridians finally unite. This looks to be single number five for WICK, which is due sometime in October. The lead-off cut looks to be the Sexyy Red joint “Somethin’”, which hit DSPs back in early February. Then, we would receive “Wickstyle”, followed by “Back To Back” featuring Future and Southside, as well as “Deep End”. On “Oh Sh*t”, you are getting both MCs in the braggadocious bag, as they continuously remind themselves and others that they are “him” as they say nowadays.

Kid Cudi Follows Through With Release Of Chip Tha Ripper Collab “DONT WORRY”

Kid Cudi made a promise to fans earlier this month about releasing some new music. “DONT WORRY SEPT 18TH”, the Cleveland, Ohio native said on September 3 via X (formerly Twitter). Attached was a minute and change snippet of that exact song. This track has been floating around the internet for a little bit, with earlier variants of it including a long-time collaborator Chip Tha Ripper. As you can see in the aforementioned tweet, Kid Cudi had plans to drop “DONT WORRY” tomorrow. However, he decided to treat his supporters a day early because it’s out now on YouTube. It has an accompanying music video too, which looks to be filmed in New York.

Before the shots roll, a heartfelt message appears from The Cudster. In it, he thanks the citizens from there for being so welcoming early on in his music career. He writes, “I moved to NY in 2004. Over the years it became my second home. To the people of NY, this is my love letter to you. Thank you for always making me feel like family. I love you endlessly, enjoy. – Scott”. Then, it transitions into the hyped track and it delivers in a multitude of ways. Kid Cudi really brings back the first Man On The Moon era with “DONT WORRY”. From the sticky and spacey melody the instrumental creates, to the passionate rapping and singing from both MCs, it really hits you in the nostalgia bone. What’s also great about this release is that Cudi did tease a potential album for the fall, which would make it his third LP of the year. That time is approaching quickly, so hopefully that comes to fruition.

Timbaland Works With Rising Talent N3WYRKLA Once Again For “Mind Now” Featuring Skilla Baby

N3WYRKLA is continuing to make a name for herself out on the East Coast, specifically New Jersey. She blends pop rap, R&B, and alterative to create a unique identity. Since launching her professional career in 2023, she’s already gained some notoriety with some established veterans and legends alike. You could argue she got her big break when she got to feature on the most recent album from R&B stalwart Brent Faiyaz, Larger Than Life. Her song with him and A$AP Rocky, “Outside All Night”, has racked up over 52 million streams. Perhaps due to that record, N3WYRKLA is now getting the chance to develop a work relationship with arguably the biggest hitmaking producer of the 2000s, Timbaland.

We covered their first-ever collaboration, “CH3RRY”, and it’s done well with listeners (614,090 streams) and our readers since its June release. Now, we are covering the latest N3WYRKLA and Timbo effort, “mind now”. But this time, she’s recruiting another artist for this release. Skilla Baby, one of the most in-demand guests right now, is coming along for this “messy” love cut. N3WYRKLA is playing the role of one of the Detroit MC’s other options. He’s having a hard time deciding whether or not he wants to date the singer or his “girlfriend”. N3WYRKLA is done with the mind games and wants Skilla to make up his mind and now.

Rod Wave Gears Up For New Tour & Album With “Passport Junkie”

Just yesterday (September 15), Rod Wave’s fifth studio album Nostalgia hit streaming platforms. That project went on to serve the Florida native well as it did spend two weeks atop the Billboard Hot 200. The crooner and rapper definitely has a devoted cult following and it’s safe to say that they are ready for more music already. Well, they are going to be getting their wish soon because the “Heart On Ice” talent is getting ready to drop LP number six. To build anticipation, Rod Wave is here with “Passport Junkie”.

This is potentially the fourth promotional track that will land on Last Lap, as he did drop a newer version of “Numb” in addition to “Lonely”. There’s also his dream collaboration with Drake that was recently previewed on his social media that is expected to make its way onto the record. But Rod Wave isn’t stopping there. He also announced self-titled tour very recently. According to a press release, the 26-year-old artist will be hitting most of the major arenas across the United States. It will start in Arizona on October 19 and go through December 18 and end off near his hometown of St. Petersburg in Fort Lauderdale. Stream “Passport Junkie” and the watch the music video below.

Kembe X Starts Another Roll Out With Release Of “DEATH & TAXXXES”

Kembe X is looking to go for a more laid-back and go-with-the-flow kind of energy for his next endeavor. On the California raised rapper’s X account he hinted at this very direction. “This project i’m rolling out is all fun music there’s little gems in there. But for the most part it is the sound of me LETTING GO & HAVING FUN‼”. Also he had another announcement to make. “DEATH & TAXXXES” TONIGHT”. This seems to be step two for this next project’s roll out, as the Illinois born artist already dropped the potential lead single back in late August. That would be “iNDIFFERENT” with the equally engaging Zelooperz. As of now, there doesn’t seem to be a release date or really anything else that’s known other than these two probable lead off tracks.

However, we can update on what Kembe X has been up to as of late. It’s been a little bit since we’ve covered new material as the last song we got to was “Rolling Stoned” with Isaiah Rashad and Hippie Sabotage. Since that November 2023 track, he went on to drop off “Shallow”, another collab with the latter, and feature for Yakiyn’s “TOP FLO” single. Furthermore, Kembe ended his five-year project drought with Sleep Paralysis back in mid-March. That was an entire combo deal with Hippie Sabotage which spanned 10 songs. Now, with that catching up out of the way, what is “DEATH & TAXXES” sounding like? It’s almost got a bit of Baby Keem to it with the way that Kembe is delivering his flows. They are a bit loopy and dizzying and the production switches up quite a bit for the track being just 1:50. See what he’s laying down with “DEATH & TAXXXES” down below.

Doechii’s Superstar Potential Grows With Katy Perry Single “I’M HIS, HE’S MINE”

Doechii has been on the come up for over the last year or so. Even though the TDE roster is stacked, she’s managed to remain as one of their most intriguing prospects and this year, she’s really breaking through. Just a couple of weeks ago, she dropped off her excellent mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal. While it’s got some flaws, it showcases that she’s got the stuff to be a true superstar. She possesses a lot of charisma, creativity, solid lyricism, as well as crossover appeal thanks to her ability to sing as well. The latter quality is what’s allowing Doechii to get on the radar of modern pop hitmaker Katy Perry.

Their new collab, “I’M HIS, HE’S MINE”, was previewed at the MTV VMAs this past Wednesday with both of them being able to perform it. If this isn’t another step into becoming one of the biggest rappers in the game, we aren’t sure what is. Overall, the song may annoy you on its first couple of listens and could come across as a generic pop rap radio hit. But it is growing on us a little bit, but that’s mostly thanks to Doechii adding some extra oomph to the single. As for Perry, this represents her third offering from her upcoming seventh album, 143, which is due September 20. Apparently, she’s going to be working with more MCs, including 21 Savage and JID, which isn’t too surprising given how many of them she’s worked with in the past.
