Over the past few months, 4Batz has shown to be one of hip-hop’s promising new stars. With a promising hit on his hands, as well as a coveted Drake co-sign, the Dallas rapper and singer is carving a path to stardom. All of this considered, his debut mixtape U Made Me A St4r, which was expected to drop tomorrow (April 5), seems to be a promising project. However, 4Batz announced today that he will unfortunately be pushing the mixtape back a month.

Though this may be bad news for those who have been following the artist’s journey, 4Batz offers good reasoning for the delay.

“Been making some of the best shit of my life the last couple weeks,” said 4Batz in the caption of an Instagram post, “so ima push the mixtape to 5.3.24 so it can be perfect for yall.”

Though this may sound like a bit of a setback, 4Batz trusts that everything happens for a reason. In a recent interview for Uproxx, 4Batz told us that no matter what, he still envisions becoming the biggest artist in the world.

“I would like to be remembered as, the biggest artist in the world and one of the most humble people in the world who gave back and inspired people, and who you know was talented,” he said.

From Rihanna to SZA, Drake’s Canadian charm seems to pull in entertainment’s biggest names. Although he’s currently traveling the world with J. Cole for the It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What? Drake isn’t going to let his love life take a backseat.

According to fanfare online, Drake might’ve found his next romantic muse in Uproxx cover star Latto’s sister. Continue below for more information.

Is Drake Dating Latto’s Sister Brooklyn Nikole?

Yesterday (March 8), footage began to circulate online of Drake making a grand exit from a quiet dinner. Usually, the footage would not cause a huge stir. However, upon closer examination, fans pointed out that one of the guests exiting the restaurant with Drake was, in fact, Latto’s younger sister, Brooklyn Nikole. Although the clip doesn’t show the two showing any public displays of affection, users believe the two are, in fact, dating.

Fans’ first piece of supporting evidence is none other than Drake’s latest verse on OVO Records’ latest signee 4Batz’s song “Act II: Date @ 8 (Remix).” In the track, Drake raps, “How you get all of that body and face, though?/What kinda water they servin’ in ClayCo,” which listeners claim refers to Brooklyn Nikole’s stomping grounds.

The pair also follow each other on Instagram, and fans pointed out Drake often hearts Brooklyn’s uploads.

Users online had a mixed response to the claims, calling out the age difference between the two.

“Brooklyn is only 22 years old, and Drake is 37. When will he date someone his age???? I don’t see why he talks about marriage, but he keeps going after young girls,” wrote one user.

While others stick to the previously denied rumors that Latto and 21 Savage are a secret couple, therefore, her sister dating Drake is the perfect fit.

The public initially thought Drake started to date Camila Cabello after the pair were spotted on vacation. However, Cabello offered a work-related explanation for those images. But what about Drake’s last rumored girlfriend, Lilah Pi? Reports say the two called it quits late last year.

4Batz made waves when he started seeing success with his “Act II: Date @ 8” song back in December, which eventually made its way up to No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Now, the R&B performer returned with a new remix of the rising hit that features Drake — which is, of course, going to give it some extra traction.

“Nowadays, R&B is quote-unquote toxic,” 4Batz shared with Billboard recently about the song. “It’s a lot of fake toxicity going on. I don’t know about that toxicity. My momma raised me in a way like, ‘You love a girl, you do this. You open the door for her.’ I’m big on that so that one was specifically for the females.”

Considering the support from Drake, some just now discovering might be wondering whether 4Batz signed with the Toronto rapper. Here’s what to know.

Is 4batz Signed To Drake’s OVO Label?

According to the publication, they cited “two executives familiar with the deal” who alleged that 4Batz signed with Drake’s OVO record label for one EP as part of a “short-term license.” Although Drake and OVO could not be reached for comment, 4Batz’s lawyer Matt Buser did share a bit more insight into their collaboration on the song. (He could not share anything about the deal, at least for now.)

“The positive energy and overall support from Team Drake/OVO was a driving factor in getting this song released,” Buser shared. “We are grateful for their involvement and are excited to see what the future holds as a result of this epic creative and business move.”

Drake & 4batz’s “Act II: Date @ 8 Remix” Receives Lukewarm Feedback From Fans

4batz’s meteoric rise to notoriety is due to his mega overnight sensation of a song, “act ii: date @ 8.” Fans are falling in love with the sticky melody, its dreamy beat, and the Dallas, Texas native’s high-pitch vocals. So much so in fact, that the song is already at a staggering 80 million streams in the three months it has been out. It is a straightforward cut about spoiling a woman and proving why he is the one for her. However, there is a massive camp that believes 4batz is an industry plant and that the song is just okay. But, Drake clearly liked what he heard and he decided to work with 4batz for the remix.

The rapper and singer only has three tracks in his discography, but based “act ii,” Drake saw potential. The Canadian superstar has a history of striking when the iron is hot. He did it with ILOVEMAKONNEN, Smiley, and a few others. Even with the big co-sign a lot of people are still sticking to their guns about how mediocre the track is.

In The End The Consensus Seems To Be That It’s Okay

Twitter sure had a lot to say about the collaboration with some saying Drake carried and others felt his part was trash. However, there are few supporters sprinkled in throughout all of the animosity. “That 4batz x drake remix slides,” one user says. Another adds, “this reminds me of sweeterman. I like the vibe.” All in all though, it seems that fans are lukewarm on it. 4batz is rumored to be dropping a six song EP that have “act” in the title, according to Genius. We are already at three installments, so the tape should be coming soon. Maybe that will put some haters to rest?

What are your thoughts on “act ii: date @ 8 remix” by Drake and 4batz? What camp are you in for this song? Do you think 4batz will be a one-hit wonder, or does he have real star potential? 4Batz And Drake Ball Out For Their Ladies On Their Charming New ‘Act II: Date @ 8 Remix’

4Batz is having a hell of a breakthrough. Last year, the Dallas artist released his single, “Act II: Date @ 8,” on which, he charmingly explains to a young lady how he plans to woo her.

“I’ll come and slide by 8 p.m. / And send a text to your DM / Five hunnid for your f*ckin’ hair / Two hunnid for your f*ckin’ nails / You runnin’ out of shoes to wear / So I bought you another pair,” 4Batz sings on the song’s chorus.

Since its release, the song has proven to be a viral hit. And now, 4Batz has received another coveted feat — a cosign from Drake. On the song’s new remix, Drake makes an attempt to step back into his ladies’ man bag.

“Two hunnid on your f*ckin’ nail / Yeah, this sh*t feel like a fairy tale / I swear, I’ll make them open up Chanel / I’m a stand-up guy like Dave Chapelle,” Drake rap-sings on his verse

This is just the beginning for 4Batz. In a recent interview for our Uproxx 20 series, he shared that he is striving for longevity and wants for his music to have a long-lasting impact.

“I would like to be remembered as, the biggest artist in the world,” said 4Batz, “and one of the most humble people in the world who gave back and inspired people, and who you know was talented.”

When Is 4Batz Releasing His Drake Collaboration, ‘Act II: Date @ 8 (Remix)?’

Thanks to the internet and social media, aspiring entertainers can create opportunities for themselves they might not have gotten otherwise. The latest example is breakout singer 4Batz, whose song “Act II: Date @ 8” went viral on TikTok, giving the relative newcomer a Billboard Hot 100 hit. Even better for 4Batz, the single came to the attention of some pretty heavy hitters, with Drake and Kanye West both commenting on the song and the latter calling 4Batz one of his favorite artists. Meanwhile, Drake shared an Instagram post that seemed to suggest he and 4Batz were collaborating on a remix.

Now, it looks like we have confirmation of the remix along with a release date, thanks to a 4Batz post on Twitter. In the accompanying video, Drake and 4Batz huddle with some friends in what looks like an empty arena — perhaps one of the more recent stops on Drake’s Big As The What? Tour — listening to Drake’s new verse from a phone and getting pretty hyped up about it. The release date is also right around the corner; the song is due to hit streaming this Friday (March 8) according to 4Batz, who also added the pre-save link to his bio. You can check that out here.

Robin Thicke Cosigns 4batz With A Cover Of “Act ii: date @ 8”

One of the breakout hits of 2024 so far came from R&B singer 4batz. His pitched-up single “act ii: date @ 8” started as a TikTok hit. A fan responded to a question about what music videos don’t fit the vibe of the song at all, netting the track quite a bit of attention. It’s snowballed into a full-on hit from there hitting the Hot 100 earlier this year. The song currently sits at #68 just a few weeks after hitting its peak spot at #59. Beyond just connecting with R&B fans it’s also clicked with numerous celebs.

The most recent of which is an R&B hitmaker in his own right, Robin Thicke. The “Blurred Lines” singer took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal how much he liked the song and even share his own cover version of it. “on repeat” he captioned a video of himself performing the track at his home playing keyboard and singing. Unsurprisingly, the experienced singer delivers an incredibly smooth rendition of the song even without pitching up his vocals. Check out his cover version and some of the fan reactions to it below.

Robin Thicke Covers 4batz’s Breakout Hit

Robin Thicke is far from the only big name in music who’s enjoying “act ii: date @ 8.” Earlier this week Drake shared his appreciation for the song and made a pretty significant announcement. He took to his Instagram story to tease a remix of the song. Unfortunately he didn’t confirm when fans might be able to hear his version of the song.

That came just a few days after Kanye West also revealed he’s a fan of the new track. The embrace from major figures in music has resulted in some allegations of being an industry plant being leveled at 4batz. What do you think of Robin Thicke’s take on 4batz’s breakout hit “act ii: date @ 8?” Are you a fan of the unique-sounding R&B hit? Let us know in the comment section below.

Will Drake Remix 4Batz’s ‘Act II: Date @ 8?’

Dallas singer and rapper 4Batz has the internet abuzz. Late last year, he released his song “Act II: Date @ 8,” which has since proven to be a viral hit. As the hit garners more popularity, 4Batz is in the middle of a bidding war between the three major labels. The boy’s future looks promising, and now all he needs is one marker that has become a rite of passage for hip-hop and R&B artists in this day and age— a cosign from Drake.

But it looks like he may soon get the coveted seal of approval.

Will Drake remix 4Batz’s “Act II: Date @ 8?”

In an Instagram story posted last night (March 4), Drake shared an image of a screen playing an audio file. 4Batz and Drake’s longtime collaborating producer Noah “40” Shebib are tagged in the picture.

At the top of the file is a name reading “Date @ 8 REMIX S5V6b.”

Now, this could mean a lot of things. It could mean he sent a verse to 4Batz for consideration. It could also mean a remix is complete, and Drake was listening to final mixes.

But regardless, it looks like an “Act II: Date @ 8” remix is on the way, which could potentially open new doors for 4Batz. After all, we’ve seen how a Drake co-sign has boosted acts like Migos, Summer Walker, and more.
