A recent Instagram Story from A&R executive Jaha Johnson spilled the beans about Brandy’s upcoming Christmas album, with a possible title hint— A Brandy Christmas. While the release date remains a mystery, it might just coincide with Brandy’s next film project.

In March 2022, Brandy shared her excitement about starring in Netflix’s original film, Best. Christmas. Ever. She’s set to play Jackie, a woman whose seemingly perfect life gets a reality check when an old college friend, Charlotte (played by Heather Graham), reenters her world right before Christmas. The film promises twists, turns, and a heartwarming holiday tale.

As a bonus, a sneak peek at Brandy’s potential Christmas album surfaced when her manager, Ryan Ramsey, was seen brainstorming 11 song titles on a whiteboard. Could this be a glimpse of what’s to come?

Justin Bieber Is In His R&B Bag On Diddy’s “Moments”: Stream

The last few years have been riddled with unfortunate health issues for Justin Bieber, but still, the former child star continues to make guest appearances for his friends throughout the music industry. So far in 2023 we’ve heard him sing on “Private Landing” with Don Toliver and Future for the former’s Love Sick album, and more recently, with SZA on the acoustic version of her “Snooze” song. Elsewhere in the world of R&B, Bieber is one of the many artists to appear on Diddy’s The Love Album: Off The Grid, which hit DSPs this Friday (September 15).

Midway through the 23-track-long project is where the “Baby” hitmakers song, “Moments” landed. It’s a heartfelt, romantic effort, which shows off the ever-impressive range in Bieber’s voice. “You got me all in my feelings, why’s it takin’ this long? / I need you runnin’, runnin’, runnin’ to my arms,” he lyricizes on the chorus, letting desire take him over.

Diddy’s New Album Features Justin Bieber, Teyana Taylor, And More

Production on “Moments” was put together by a handful of experts, including Sean Combs himself. Others on the list are Rob Knox, Stevie J, Slimway, Phil The Keys, and Chris Payton. So far, the emotional R&B song looks to be a favourite amongst listeners of the New Yorker’s LP. Other popular titles we’ve been loving include “Another One Of Me” featuring The Weeknd, French Montana, and 21 Savage, as well as “Tough Love” with Swae Lee.

Lil Baby Seems To Diss Blueface In New Song

Lil Baby recently hopped on social media to preview some of his new music. He posted an Instagram Story rhyming along to an upcoming song, and fans were quick to notice an apparent mention of another notable rapper. ”Put a hunnit up a million times the f*ck is a Blueface?” he seems to rap in the song.

The two of them have had their fair share of problems in the past, so the diss wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Most recently, Chrisean Rock revealed that Blueface thought she was with Lil Baby ahead of the birth of their son, and wasn’t happy about it. She appeared to deny this, however, it wasn’t the first time he had his doubts about his intentions with Chrisean. During an Instagram Live back in February, Blueface probed Chrisean after she interacted with Lil Baby at a party.

Lil Baby Mentions Blueface In Song Snippet

“I think you be letting too many rap n****s be in your face,” he told her at the time. Chrisean claimed that the interaction was nothing more than an “empowerment conversation,” but he wasn’t buying it. “Y’all had an empowerment conversation at 5 a.m?” he asked. “With him all up in your face like this? He damn near up in my face, cuz!” The rapper continued, insisting that their chat was inappropriate. “He wanna f*ck me too? Cuh wanna f*ck me? Any n***a in your face is in my face … It makes no sense.”

Earlier this month, Chrisean called Blueface out for continuing to bring Lil Baby up in their arguments. She claimed that while she was trying to make a mends with him for the sake of their child, he instead made the conversation about her eating at Lil Baby’s restaurant. Kanye West Shares Surprising New Music Snippet At Fashion Show In London

Kanye West’s travels around Europe unlocked something in him, for better or worse considering his recent controversies. Regardless, fans went wild when they heard new reports that Yeezy is working on a new album, which seems to be manifesting. Moreover, he recently previewed new music at the Mowalola SS 2024 Fashion Show in London, and it sounds a tad different to what you might expect. Of course, this isn’t the first time that he worked with trap aesthetics- very far from it, in fact. Still, given suggestions that the 46-year-old is working with older sounds, it struck some fans as an interesting misdirection.

Whether that’s actually the case or we’re getting more of the same Donda 2 filler remains to be seen. Either way, fans split up into two different camps: those who want to hear what Ye does and those who are more interested in what Ye says. As revered as Kanye West’s production is, it’s no surprise that many fans will more closely scrutinize the lyrical content given his antisemitic rhetoric. With lines like “P***y like a Steph three, straight water / Baby, what’s the killer price? Kevin Costner,” it seems like we’ll only find out where he’s going when (or rather, if) the project drops.

Another aspect to consider is how relatively low-profile the Chicago MC has been as a result of all of this. Most of the media’s recent coverage around him concerns his relationship and often provocative fit-matching with Bianca Censori. Their travels around Italy netted them a lot of controversy for their actions and public displays. They recently stopped by Germany, too, so it seems that their European travels are taking them everywhere.

Meanwhile, if there really is a rollout cycle here, history suggests that we’re still very far from an album. Yandhi‘s promised and then canceled drop, plus the heap of examples before and after it, created a hole in many fans’ hearts. The difference here, though, is that there’s a lot more at stake, and even an MBTDF moment won’t erase his abhorrent actions. All we can do is sit tight, wait, and see what the hip-hop titan will do with his career and image moving forward. Canadian rapper, KILLY has had a little bit of an unheralded career up until this point. It is unfortunate because the 26-year-old really has some serious heat that not too many people have been able to hear. Sure, he has songs that have over 70 million streams, “No Sad No Bad” and Killamonjaro.” But other than that, the notoriety has never really really come his way. Of course, there are tons of talented artists from Canada like Drake, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Tory Lanez, the list goes on forever.

But KILLY should be recognized more for his amazing abilities to create head-bobbing flows, sticky melodies, and ethereal productions. That is what he brings tenfold to his latest project, K3. It is a seven-track EP that is only 15 minutes long, but it leaves a lasting impression. On top of the irresistible tunes on this effort, this holds tremendous weight for KILLY. Ransom Unleashes His Third Project Of The Year With “SPOIL THE ROD, SPARE THE CHILD”

It has been a busy year to say the least for Brooklyn’s own, Ransom. The storied career of this hip-hop artist will go down as one that is iconic but also underappreciated. A true wordsmith and intimidating MC, Ransom has been pumping quality since the late 2000s. Already this year, the prolific rapper has put out two EPs and an album to boot.

The first of which was the LP, Directors Cut 4. It featured artists such as Nicholas Craven, Che Noir, Tali Kweli, and more. Then, after that, only a couple of weeks went by before we were delightedly treated to Ransom’s first EP of the year with Deleted Scenes 2. That was a full collab effort with Nicholas Craven in the booth. The song titles were cleverly named after movie titles of different genres.

Elyrix Nabs NAV Feature For His Newest Single “Looking At Me”

Just over a month ago, we covered a newer artist on the scene out of Montréal, Québec, Canada. His name is Elyrix, a 30-year-old rapper and vocalist who is making waves up north. He began releasing music to streaming back in 2020 with the release of his debut project. I Feel Better Alone was a solo project that was recorded in his basement. All artists have to start somewhere and Elyrix certainly put his heart and soul into his first offering to make sure he could have a more stable foundation.

That came to fruition for the artist, as he was able to eventually build his own studio. Subsequently, slowing down was not an option for Elyrix. Less than a year later break & tell came out and that really got things in motion for him Some high-level performances at a few shows got some major rapper’s attention. Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Lil Baby, and Gunna, were all impressed with his style and sound. So much so, that all four of them and more would go on to appear on his Ostrogoth, Pt. 1 tape. More ears caught wind of Elyrix because of this and he grabbed Gunna for a single just about a week later on “Day Off,” which is blowing up.

All of this hard work brings us to another new single a week later called “Looking At Me.” This time he joins NAV in the studio, as his recognition continues to flourish. According to Genius, this looks to be on his Ostrogoth, Pt. 2 which is possible slated for a 2024 release.

Drake & SZA’s “Slime You Out” Has Twitter All The Way In Their Feelings

From what we can tell, we may be coming up on one of the best R&B seasons in recent memory. With fall coming up around the corner, heavyweights within the soulful genre have been previewing their incredible work. Diddy proved that he’s still a force to be reckoned with on, The Love Album: Off the Grid. Muni Long’s latest single also reminds us how magical her voice is. Elsewhere, two other superstars skipped out on the tradition of sharing their new music at midnight, instead opting to drop off “Slime You Out” at noon on Friday (September 15).

Drake and SZA are responsible for the emotional new song. It begins with some impressive vocals from the 36-year-old after he calls out the fairer sex for being too dependent on men. “You b**ches really get carried away / Makin’ mistakes then you beg me to stay,” he sings. “I met the ni**a you thought could replace / How were there even comparisons made?” Drizzy continues, bragging about his ex’s inability to find someone like him after their split.

Countless GIFs and reaction videos of grown men sobbing are being used to capture how hip-hop heads feel about “Slime You Out.” It’s an impressive first joint effort from the 6ix God and his former lover, though SZA previously revealed that she hoped to have both Drake and Frank Ocean on her record-breaking “SOS” album in 2022.

Offset Channels His Inner Michael Jackson In The Visual For “Fan”

Offset has been looking to continue his solo career for quite some time. Back in 2019, he gave us Father Of 4, however, he has not delivered a follow-up. However, over the last few months, he has been making it clear that a new project will be dropping very soon. Overall, he is someone who can mix bars and melodies quite nicely, and fans want to hear what he has to say. This is especially true given everything that happened to Takeoff, and his fallout with none other than Quavo.

That said, today, Offset came through with a new single that is meant to help promote this new project, which drops on October 13th. Overall, the song is called “Fan” and it has proven to be a huge success thus far, with fans praising the track for its production and bars. However, perhaps the best part of the new song is its music video. The artist has been diving into choreography as of late, and it has paid dividends. Cardi B is rubbing off on him, and it has culminated in the music video, below.

Killer Mike’s Deluxe Version Of “MICHAEL” Adds JID, T.I., Jacquees, And Young Nudy

Back on June 16, 2023, one-half of Run The Jewels released their first solo album in over 11 years. That would happen to be the Atlanta, Georgia native Killer Mike. It was a follow-up to his critically acclaimed R.A.P. Music and it delivered on many fronts. For example, Mike gathered a massive list of A-listers to help make a grand return. Some of those names include André 3000, Future, Young Thug, CeeLo Green, Ty Dolla $ign, and a plethora of others.

Mike also laced the stacked tracklists with great writing and storytelling on tracks like “MOTHERLESS” and “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS.” Finally, the production credits here are more than respectable. DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia, André 3000, El-P, Honorable C.N.O.T.E., James Blake, and more assisted in the diversity of sounds. It was a tour de force for Killer Mike and he just added some more heat to the record.
