Offset Reveals He Was in a Whitney Houston Video as a Child

Offset visited The Jennifer Hudson show and revealed that he once danced in a music video for Whitney Houston.

Calling Houston a “nice, sweet soul” Offset recalled the core memory.

“My mama seen a billboard sign saying you could come try out. I pulled up. I remember my mama told I’ll never forget, ‘When the music come on, just go out there and do your thing. I was smaller than everybody. Everybody was 11 or something, and I was like 8. Then I did it.

I remember she came from the back and pointed me out. When we shot the video, she was just a nice, sweet soul. Bobby Brown was cool too. He was making us laugh. He was cool. Yeah, both of them. I got a lot of cameos too.”

Offset’s Baby Shark Voice Acting Leaves Fans Stunned

Elsewhere, Offset closed out 2023 by surprising some fans with his voice acting ability. Offset, Cardi B, and their children appeared in the children’s animated show, Baby Shark’s Big Show. The famous family appeared as shark versions of themselves – namely “Sharki B” and “Offshark”. In their brief cameo, the couple (and their kids) are chilling in their green room when their security catches protagonist Brooklyn “Baby” Shark (Kimiko Glenn) trying to sneak in.

However, the famous couple’s voice-acting skills are under scrutiny. While some fans have praised Offset, others found his line delivery stilted and awkward. “Idk why but when he was in NCIS, I always thought the delivery of this line was funny lol,” one commenter replied, including a clip of Offset’s awkward line delivery from the long-running police procedural. Check out the clip below and let us know what you think of Offset’s performance.

Offset Explains Dropping Out Of Kai Cenat Stream From Prison

Offset recently explained his decision to bail on Kai Cenat’s “7 Days In,” in which the streamer recorded from inside a jail for a full week. Speaking with The Morning Hustle, the Migos rapper said that he wasn’t offended by Cenat’s negative review of Set It Off. Instead, Offset said he felt uncomfortable making prison into “a game.”

As for the rumors he was offended by Cenat’s Set It Off response, Offset said: “Not really ’cause at the end of the day he’s giving his honest opinion. He liked the first eight songs. At the end of the day, that’s my homie.” He further explained: “I didn’t do the jail thing because I really had to think about it. I really come from that. It’s really bros and homies struggling with that. It’s not really a game, it’s a serious thing. I understand content. I salute it, but I just couldn’t be a part of that content because if ya’ll remember, I come from jail.”

Offset continued, “I know how it feels. It ain’t the right feeling. I got real homies that can’t get out ever. So I didn’t want to make a mockery of them. My world and [Cenat’s] world are different.” Check out his full appearance on the show below.

Offset Discusses Bailing on Kai Cenat’s Livestream

Offset’s interview with The Morning Hustle comes after Cardi B recently confirmed that the two have broken up. “I’ve been single for a minute now,” she said in a live stream clip posted by Pop Crave. “But, I have been afraid to like—not afraid I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign. The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Offset on HotNewHipHop.

Offset Fights Back Against His 9-To-5 In New Music Video For “BLAME IT ON SET”

Offset isn’t done with his new album Set It Off yet. The project dropped back in October to moderate critical success and even more commercial success. In its first week alone the project sold more than 70k copies which was good enough for a top 5 debut on the Billboard 200. The album also spawned a trio of Hot 100 hits in “JEALOUSY” with Cardi B, “SAY MY GRACE” with Travis Scott, and “WORTH IT” with Don Toliver. All of those tracks and three others from the album have received music videos already and yet another one dropped earlier today.

The 7th music video from SET IT OFF is for the album’s third-to-last track “BLAME IT ON SET.” In the music video, Offset relatably suffers through a boring 9-to-5 job with an annoying boss. He spends time watching the clock and counting the seconds as they go by before finally deciding to rebel. He spits confident bars amid a roster of fabulously dressed co-workers across the four-and-a-half-minute visual. Numerous fans took to the comments to praise the song, the video, and the rapper himself for his impressive work ethic. Check out the full video and fan reactions to it below.

Offset’s Newest Music Video

Over the weekend, Offset hosted his second annual Toyz 4 The Nawf Christmas toy drive. The event was bigger and better in its second year also helping families connect to affordable internet while also providing them with toys and clothes for the holiday season. He teamed up with the Ann Cephus Family Fund for the event once again and provided great holiday gifts to families throughout the Atlanta area.

The new music video comes as many fans are speculating about Offset’s status with wife Cardi B. She actually appears on his new album twice and hyped it up as Grammy worthy in the lead-up to its release. But when fans discovered the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram it opened up a floodgate of speculation. Cardi didn’t help that speculation when she recently took to social media to say that she was focusing on herself for a little while. Many fans interpreted that as a hint that their relationship speculation was justified. What do you think of the newly released music video for “BLAME IT ON SET?” Let us know in the comment section below.

Offset Rebels Against Boring Office Jobs And Obnoxious Bosses In His Luxurious ‘Blame It On Set’ Video

Offset answers to no one. His sophomore solo album, Set It Off, made it on Uproxx‘s “Best Albums Of 2023” list because of his fierce commitment to authenticity and his fearless embrace of hard-earned luxury. His freshly dropped video for “Blame It On Set” encapsulates those qualities.

The Maya Table-directed video begins with Offset in the dull, soul-sucking environment more commonly associated with 9-to-5 office jobs than multi-platinum-certified rappers. But there Offset is, sitting alone at a desk, constantly checking the clock (relatable), stapling papers, and piling them up.

It appears that he’s done for the day, but a very obnoxious and unkempt boss comes in with a new stack for Offset to staple. He’s yelling while chewing a jelly donut, leading to jelly grossly falling onto Offset’s desk. That’s the final straw. Offset clenches his fist but chooses to fight back by rounding up his coworkers, rocking high-fashion fits, and spitting confident bars.

The “Blame It On Set” video follows similarly elaborate visuals for fellow Set It Off tracks “Jealousy” with Cardi B (and Jamie Lee Curtis), “Fan,” and “Say My Grace” featuring Travis Scott. Offset and Don Toliver also performed “Worth It” for the first time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Watch the “Blame It On Set” video above.

Cardi B and Don Toliver are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
