Anycia Sounds More Nonchalant Than Ever Before On “BAD WEATHER”

With Atlanta, Georgia being one of the hubs for hip-hop, you already know that there is going to be an abundance of varying talent and styles. Anycia is someone who does not exactly fit into one specific lane. That is apparent through her casual mic presence and lyricism. It has quickly become an easily recognizable sound and it is why she will be cementing her star status very shortly when she releases her debut album. “BAD WEATHER” from Anycia is now most likely the third single from the LP.

Presumably, the first of three dropped back in the latter half of January. That was “BACK OUTSIDE” with fellow femcee Latto which was an absolute banger. Then, in March Anycia would go on to feed the fans twice with “UP, LIT. FREESTYLE” and “NENE’S PRAYER.” With the album dropping on April 26, she is treating people to one more gift with “BAD WEATHER.”

Bankroll Got It and jetsonmade team up for colorful and bouncy throwback-like beat which lays atop Anycia’s subdued delivery. Out of all of the singles so far, this may be one of her most carefree performances, maybe even in her entire career. “BAD WEATHER” seems to be a song about the negativity that can sometimes surround someone and drag them down. It is why the nonchalant approach from Anycia makes sense here, as she does her best to brush off the bad vibes.

Ray Vaughn might be new to Top Dawg Entertainment, but do not let his “inexperience” fool you. The Long Beach, California rapper has been on the label for about three years now and pretty soon he will be dropping his debut album. Fans have been waiting for this moment, especially after releasing single after single since 2018. We most likely have our next album single from Ray Vaughn called “Blasphemy.”

There is a chance that this is now the fourth teaser from the still unnamed project, with our last offering from him coming back in late March. The one that really caught a lot of people’s attention though is “Problems” with Pusha T. Both were bringing their A-game on that cut. But “Blasphemy” might be the one to overtake it.

This track is braggadocious to the core and it features some slick and cocky bars that are sure to be in our heads for days. “I know the guys’ gone blast for me / Louis V pouch at capacity / They can’t make this in a factory / God just blessed me with it naturally.” All of this is performed with an incredibly sticky melody and flow from Ray Vaughn. The eerie and trap beat is provided some of the best in the business, including Boi-1da and OZ. All of these factors combined give fans a track to have on repeat.

NLE Choppa Takes Absurdity To New Heights With NSFW Single “SLUT ME OUT 2”

There have been a few rappers lately that have been unapologetic in their music when it comes to their sexuality. One of those is energetic Memphis, Tennessee MC NLE Choppa. Last year, we saw the still 21-year-old dropped songs like “College Girls,” “IT’S GETTING HOT,” a remix of Nelly’s classic, and “SLUT ME OUT.” The latter of those now has a sequel, as NLE Choppa has decided to drop “SLUT ME OUT 2.”

This original version landed on his 2023 project Cottonwood 2, which saw its release nearly a year ago to the day, April 14. In that fairly short period, the sexually-charged song has surprisingly racked up over 322 million streams. To be fair though, it does have a fire beat and Choppa does bring some creative flows and an animated performance. For this next installment, NLE somehow turns things up a notch on “SLUT ME OUT 2.”

It is truly impossible to include all of the absurdly funny lyrics but here is a small sample of them. “If I was a bad b****, I’d wanna hump me too, hmm (No Diddy) / I’d wanna trap me too, hmm (No Diddy) / Nothin’ freaky that I wouldn’t do to me (No Diddy).” The reference to all of the jokes surrounding the rapper’s plethora of legal issues is far from the most hilarious bars on the song. Omar Apollo Is Still Hooked On A Past Relationship On “Spite”

Omar Apollo is one of the more unsung talents in the alternative space. He has plenty of high-prolife features for artists such as Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar, Joji, and more. Apollo also dabbles in Latin music, which can be credited to his Mexican parents. All in all, he is an extremely versatile talent that deserves more recognition for his work. Omar Apollo is back to prove his skillset again with “Spite.”

This is his first offering of 2024 as a whole so far. He did come through in October with a four-track EP called Live For Me. It featured the lead single “Ice Slippin,” and most of the songs were moodier in tone and production. With “Spite” though, Omar brings some more lively and upbeat production courtesy of a guitar and light drums. On this record, he is singing about a relationship that has him strangled.

41 Throws A “Birthday” Bash On Their New Single

41 have been one of the main voices out of the Brooklyn drill scene for a few months now. The trio consisting of Kyle Richh, Jenn Carter and TaTa are gaining more and more notoriety by the day it seems. They famously received a co-sign from Travis Scott as well as another prominent voice in their respective subgenre, Fivio Foreign. Today, 41 is back to bring one heck of party banger called “Birthday.”

MCVertt also gives the group another beat here, and it is slightly different from the traditional drill formula. There are some subtle horn sections thrown in to help break up the constant flow of 808s and bass. Everyone from 41 brings their unique deliveries to “Birthday,” which is something you can always count on from them. Another thing that will never be left out of a track from them are their particular themes of partying, women, and violence.

That is where their music might falter for some. Especially when drill music has its limitations when it comes to production, talking about the same things over and over again will also lead to it becoming stale ever faster. Cambridge, Massachusetts rapper Millyz is here to deliver a new single with Meek Mill called “Soul Survivor.” The seven-year veteran continues to prove he has the technical abilities that deserve similar respect to those with more popularity. On this fresh cut, Millyz is talking about making it through tough situations and being able to protect himself during the process. He also asks for forgiveness from the man upstairs for the mistakes he has made in his past as well.

Overall, it is an inspirational and personal cut from Millyz and it deserves its praise. Meek Mill is also on this cut and it is the first time he has worked with him. Their styles match up pretty well, especially considering some of the tracks that Meek puts out. His portion is kind of short and it feels like he was on “Soul Survivor” to bring some chatter and not much else.

Travis Scott & Playboi Carti Drop Dizzying Music Video For “FE!N”

It is crazy to think that Travis Scott put out UTOPIA just over eight months ago. It feels like the album only dropped about one month ago with how much we are still bumping the record. While it did not nab La Flame that elusive GRAMMY award he so desperately seeks, it was still easily a top-five LP from 2023. Tracks like “I KNOW ?” “MY EYES,” “TELEKINESIS,” “MODERN JAM,” and so many others were some of the strongest records of the year. “I KNOW ?”, arguably the biggest song from the tape, got its well-deserved visuals. However, fans have been waiting on the “FE!N” music video, too.

But, we can officially say now that we do not have to continue to hope for that any longer. Travis and the song’s feature, Playboi Carti, put together some freaky visuals for the rage collaboration. Some fans have been mixed on the visuals for the album so far, but maybe some will enjoy the cool shots for “FE!N.” If you like spinning videography, then this is the video for you.

Sexyy Red is looking to shake up 2024 like she did in 2023 with her album Hood Hottest Princess. The St. Louis, Missouri rapper has a handful of hit songs under her belt from that record and its recent deluxe. Of course, you have the one that started it all, “SkeeYee,” as well as “Hellcats SRTs,” “Pound Town 2,” and “Bow Bow Bow.” However, their might be a single that could overtake the others. That would be her latest collaboration with Tay Keith. The two have developed an undeniable chemistry going back to that record. “Get It Sexyy” has been racking up the streams and now it has a crazy music video to go with it.

It became her highest peaking song on the Billboard Hot 100, hitting number 23. Additionally, it rose to the top of the Apple Music chart during its first weekend. Naturally, “Get It Sexyy” deserved a music video and man does it deliver. The visuals might hit you in the nostalgia bone, as this is a clear callback to early 2000s visuals. The grainy shots, mixed in with massive crowds and choreographed dances, are a fun homage to that era of hip-hop.

What also makes this video a hit for Sexyy Red are the plethora of hilarious cameos. It would not be a 2000s-style video without Soulja Boy. He appears at the beginning to continue to the running joke that he was the first to do everything in the industry. Adin Ross also plays a nerd who is obsessed with Sexyy Red, getting off to her twerking on a chunky looking computer. It is both weird and hilarious as it makes light of their recent back-and-forth online about the two hooking up. Rob49 also makes an appearance in some funny scenes with Adin that you have to see for yourself. The biggest cameo is Drake though, as he and Red are on a date that does not end well for the Canadian rapper.
