Millyz & Meek Mill Are “Soul Survivors” On Their First Collaboration

Cambridge, Massachusetts rapper Millyz is here to deliver a new single with Meek Mill called “Soul Survivor.” The seven-year veteran continues to prove he has the technical abilities that deserve similar respect to those with more popularity. On this fresh cut, Millyz is talking about making it through tough situations and being able to protect himself during the process. He also asks for forgiveness from the man upstairs for the mistakes he has made in his past as well.

Overall, it is an inspirational and personal cut from Millyz and it deserves its praise. Meek Mill is also on this cut and it is the first time he has worked with him. Their styles match up pretty well, especially considering some of the tracks that Meek puts out. His portion is kind of short and it feels like he was on “Soul Survivor” to bring some chatter and not much else.

Freddie Gibbs’ Baby Mama & Millyz Wear Matching Outfits After Her Diss Track: “Treacherous Lil Twin”

When Freddie Gibbs and Destini Fox were sharing their relationship in the public eye, the duo seemed like a match made in Heaven. Unfortunately, the bliss didn’t last as long as they were both expecting when the latter, also known as FIT MAMI, became pregnant. She says that Gibbs spoke frequently with her about wanting to build a family together, but when the time came for him to step up to the plate, he no longer felt ready for the responsibility. Seeing as she wasn’t comfortable with terminating the pregnancy, she’s now taking care of their little one on her own and even included the baby in her music video earlier this year.

On “New Baby Mama,” Fox put her ex on blast for abandoning her and their family. At the same time, she shaded him over his feud with Benny The Butcher, whom she recently posed for photos with, much to fans’ surprise. It seems the content creator isn’t stopping there. As HipHopDX reports, her latest lyricist lover is Millyz, who she posted up with in coordinated outfits on Monday (January 29). On his account, the seasoned rhymer wrote, “Treacherous lil twin 😈” along with a collection of cute images. The first finds them posing in the mirror, FIT MAMI accentuating her ample chest under a white tank. Millyz was dressed similarly, though his jeans were a slightly lighter wash than hers.

Looks Like Freddie Gibbs and Millyz Won’t Be Collaborating

On her account, Fox shared a video montage of the 32-year-old putting his hands on her buzzed head. “You gotta smack it while you…” she wrote on top of the footage, sparking rumours that she and Millyz are getting intimate during their time together.

Millyz “Targeted” And Detained By Police For Firearm

Massachusetts rapper Millyz found himself detained by the police in Phoenix over the weekend. The detainment happened following a routine traffic stop. The incident took an unexpected turn when the police discovered a legally owned firearm during the search. This information was confirmed by a member of Millyz’s team. A video capturing the scene quickly spread across social media. It shows approximately six police officers from the removing the rapper from the back of his vehicle.

According to Millyz’s representative, they firmly believe that the rapper and his entourage were specifically targeted. They emphasized that the video footage was not staged or part of any promotional effort. The representative explained that the police had been tailing them for around ten blocks. Then, they eventually stopped and detained them for the presence of a legal firearm. Hours later, they were released without being held overnight. Consequently, there is an absence of a mugshot on the police department’s website.

Millyz Is “Targeted” Yet Again

Millyz’s encounter with law enforcement isn’t the only issue he has faced recently. Back in March, Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd took aim at the Cambridge rapper. He criticized his rendition of Eminem’s hit song “Stan.” Slim Jxmmi asserted that Rae Sremmurd had a superior version of the track in the works. Millyz, on the other hand, acknowledged Slim Shady’s permission to use the sample on his recent song “Tonight.” The rapper also shared a preview on Instagram. Despite this, Slim Jxmmi dismissed Millyz’s version. He claimed that Rae Sremmurd’s adaptation had more impact. He made sure to note that they, too, had received clearance for the sample.

In the comments section of Akademiks’ Instagram post, Slim Jxmmi further asserted that Millyz’s inspiration for using the song came from Swae Lee’s leaked video. Swae Lee, Slim Jxmmi’s brother and fellow group member, had posted a TikTok video in August 2022. In it, he altered the lyrics of “Stan” to include references to lean and wealth. Slim Jxmmi argued that nobody had expressed interest in using the sample. That is, until Swae Lee’s video gained attention. As such, he suggested that Millyz’s decision was influenced by his brother’s adaptation.

Slim Jxmmi Slams Millyz For Using The Same “Stan” Sample As Swae Lee

It appears that there’s a competition of samples between Rae Sremmurd and Jadakiss co-signed rapper Millyz. The Boston-bred lyricist recently revealed a new song that samples Eminem’s hit record, “Stan.” Millyz interpolates Ditto’s hook over a pitched-up version of her melody that showcases his range while reflecting on his own hardships. “Even if I could, it would all be straight/ With this pistol on my waist/ It reminds me that I could die tonight, die tonight,” he sings on the hook.

Months prior, Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee lit up the Internet when he previewed a new song that also contained the same sample as Millyz’s latest record. On the record, Swae’s delicate vocals bring a youthful energy to the record. “My lean’s gone cold I’m wondering why I, got out of bed at all/ 3.5 clouds up my window, and I can’t see at all/ And even if I could it would all be great, with these racks stacked up too tall,” he raps. Just a few days ago, he suggested that he finally got the sample cleared for Sremm 4 Life.

Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee Vs. Millyz

Just before the release of “Tonight,” Millyz confirmed that he got Eminem’s blessing. “OMG WE CLEARED THE ‘STAN SAMPLE!!!” Millyz wrote. “DROPPIN 3/9 SALUTE TO THE [goat].” However, this led to Rae Sremmurd member Slim Jxmmi leaping into the comment section on Akademiks’ post to tear down Millyz’s upcoming single since it uses the same sample from Swae Lee’s upcoming release. “Naw this ain’t it fam! Sremm4 got the bangings version! Sample cleared!” Slim Jxmmi wrote.

Millyz ultimately shrugged off the Rae Sremmurd rapper’s comments, writing, “I cleared the sample too lil did u be aight.” While the comments spread across social media, ultimately landing on Akademiks’ page, Slim Jxmmi doubled down afterward, writing, “Wasn’t nobody on this sample till my brother leaked his version singing live.” Overall, Millyz appeared caught off-guard because he never expected to feud with the “No Flex Zone” duo. “Havin smoke w rae shermurd is crazy,” he wrote along with several laughing emojis. So far, Swae Lee hasn’t chimed in on the matter but we’ll have to wait until April 7th to hear what Rae Sremmurd has in store on Sremm 4 Life.

Millyz Drops Fiery New Song, “YOYO”

Millyz is gearing up to have another great year in 2023. As he continues to bring his momentum into the new year, he returned on Friday (January 13) to drop his brand new single, “YOYO.”

Produced by Rvssian, the booming 808s combine with the bright strings to provide the Massachusetts rapper with a drill-inspired backdrop. Over the beat, Millyz takes his turn at effortlessly flexing his lifestyle and rapping abilities.

He wastes no time showing off his lyricism. “I seen my dawg turn b*tch and I seen real turn fake / There’s too many rats and snakes / Stick in the back of the Wraith / Tell ’em ‘back up,’ need space,” he kicks off his first verse.

“Shorty a demon, face of an angel / My diamond chains get tangled / I’m in the field, stripes like a bengal,” the 31-year-old explicitly continues in his second verse.

Additionally, an accompanying music video also arrives alongside the new song. During the entertaining video, he turns up to his new banger at various different locations.

Over the course of the past several years, the 31-year-old lyricist has been consistently working towards keeping his Blanco series alive. The most recent addition is the fifth instalment, Blanco 5. The 17-track tape was released last August and boasts features from the likes of Jadakiss, Fivio Foreign, Mozzy and others. The original instalment saw its release in 2018.

Millyz is also a frequent collaborator of Chris Webbby and the late great DJ Kay Slay. Additionally, he appears on Jadakiss‘ last solo album, 2020’s Ignatius. On “Gov’t Cheese,” he joins DeJ Loaf and Nino Man for an expressive song about fighting through tribulations.

Make sure to stream Millyz’s “YOYO” on either Spotify or SoundCloud down below. Afterwards, comment your thoughts. Finally, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates and releases.
