Lancey Foux Swerves Into The Spacey R&B Lane With “On Ur Mind”

Lancey Foux is one of the more energetic rappers from across the pond. To be honest, that is saying quite a bit due to the amount of drill artists that come from the UK. Back in 2023, he put out his first album in a little under a year with BACK2DATRAP. Keeping that title in mind, Foux was certainly delivering a lot of auto-tuned rap cuts with bass heavy instrumentals. However, to start his 2024 catalog, Lancey Foux is slowing things down a bit with his new single “On Ur Mind.”

The 28-year-old MC is still using the vocal effects heavily on this record as well, as he muses about a love interest. He feels that he can treat her better than whoever she is currently seeing. “Rolex blue dial and you just had to have it, girl (Girl) / I’m the one for your new life / I’m the one to make you happy, girl.”

German trap rapper, Ufo361, is a pretty prolific talent from Europe. Since coming onto the scene, at least with streaming, back in 2016, he has dropped 13 projects. His most recent did drop this year. It was called LOVE MY LIFE and featured a lot of big names.

Gunna, Offset, 070 Shake, producer OZ, Lil Gotit, and others all pitched in. However, do not be surprised by this. Ufo361 has worked with tons of the biggest artists from the states. He will be doing that again on his upcoming album, SONY.

According to Genius, Ufo is looking at a release date of January 5. KayCyy And Lancey Foux’s “SLOWWW DIVINNGG” Has Plenty Of Untapped Potential

Kenyan singer and rapper KayCyy is continuing his meteoric rise in the industry. His big placements on records like UTOPIA have gotten him more into the public eye. If you were paying attention to the headlines surrounding Travis Scott’s album, one of them was KayCyy’s frustrations with not being credited as a feature on “THANK GOD.” The features were revealed after the record was out for a couple of weeks and his name was not attached to it.

That is when he took to social media to call out the Texas rapper, making it known he was not just a background singer. He dropped “My Jeans” in response to him and that blew up. It truly feels like you are sinking, in a good way (if that is possible). The instrumental is also beautiful, but it feels like the beat is getting ready to drop and it never does. Hopefully, there is a longer version that these two have in the vault, and it gets released to DSPs.

Lancey Foux Takes Us “BACK2DATRAP” On His Third Mixtape

The hip-hop talent in the UK is extremely vast, offering plenty of unique voices to many in the States. East London’s Lancey Foux is one of those talents, and he has continued to provide some eclectic sounds over the past several years. He is back to do that once again on the third mixtape of his career, BACK2DATRAP. Additionally, this is his eighth project overall dating back to his debut Pink in 2015. Lancey’s title tells you all you need to know about the subject matter for this mixtape.

There is no real theme, sense of cohesion, or story behind the tracklist for BACK2DATRAP. It is a project that serves the purpose of providing nothing but slaps and Lancey delivers tenfold on that front. Most mixtapes are usually lengthy and padded out with filler tracks to rack up streams. But, the rapper keeps it to a minimal 12 tracks at just 30 minutes and change.

Lancey’s lead single for this tape, “MMM HMM” featuring an unpredictable verse from Sexyy Red lands here too. Other than that, it is a featureless set of cuts that sees him bring wild energy and fun beats. Most of the production comes from Bally who is a frequent beat maker for Lancey and others such as Lil Uzi Vert. A lot of the instrumentals fall under the rage rap subgenre with of course trap and even psychedelic trap elements. There is a lot of exciting tracks here and it should fare well with many Lancey fans.
