Metro Boomin Teases Future Collab Album Once Again

Metro Boomin has spent much of this year teasing a new album with Future. It comes just a few months after Metro himself released his own new album Heroes & Villains late last year. The album’s mega-hit “Creepin’” with 21 Savage and The Weeknd is still in the Hot 100 popping up at number 50 on this week’s chart. He also had a major hand in Young Thug’s newest album Business Is Business. The project was released while Thug is incarcerated and Metro helped assemble it. The album even got a “Metro’s Version” shortly after it was announced. He also created the soundtrack for the new Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse animated movie earlier this year.

But the producers prolific streak doesn’t seem to be over yet. Back in August he updated fans that a collab album with Future was still on the way. He made a tweet saying that they were in the process of shooting the album cover. Later in the month, he tweeted about how a power outage caused him to lose three new beats he was working on for Future. Despite the setback he’s clearly kept working on the album since then. Last month he said that the project was album of the year material and he hasn’t stopped teasing it since then. Check out his newest post below.

Metro Boomin Knows What Hip Hop Needs

“QUESTION: In your opinion what needs to happen in hip hop to help stop the current slump that it finds itself in?” a rap discussion accounted tweeted yesterday. Glossing over the fact that the “slump” in question is very much up for debate, Metro responded. “Me and @future album of course,” he said in a quote tweet.

At this point, some fans in the comments are over all the teasing and ready to see results. There are dozens of comments calling primarily for the project to be released, or at least have a release date confirmed. What do you think of Metro Boomin continuing to tease a collaborative album with Future? Let us know in the comment section below.

Gucci Mane Unleashes 24-Track Project “Breath Of Fresh Air” Featuring J. Cole, Lil Baby, & More

One of the founding fathers of trap rap is back with their brand new album. Gucci Mane delivers a massive project with plenty of familiar faces. The title, Breath of Fresh Air, is a little bit misleading. Guwop, while a respected legend no doubt, is not really bringing anything new to the subgenre.

The rapper has put out tons of massive albums and mixtapes. In fact, this is his 16th album to date. On top of that, the beats are what you come to know him for as well. Gucci really is not turning a new leaf with this record.

Listen To Breath Of Fresh Air From Gucci Mane

There are still some standout songs in the tracklist, however. You have J. Cole and Mike WiLL Made-It on one of the singles leading up to the release. “Glizock & Wizop” with Key Glock is another fun listen, too. But, it just is not anything new or enticing for trap. Especially, with it containing 24 cuts and over an hour in length, its another bloated tape more than anything else. Still give it a listen above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new album from Gucci Mane, Breath of Fresh Air? Is this the rapper’s best project excluding mixtapes? Who had the best feature performance out of everyone? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Drake’s “For All The Dogs” Is His 13th No.1 Album On Billboard 200

Earlier this month, Drake finally unveiled his eagerly-awaited new album, For All The Dogs. The Canadian performer had been teasing the project for some time, and fans couldn’t wait to hear what he had in store for them. As expected, it’s gotten mixed reviews now that it’s arrived. Regardless, it’s become one of the biggest releases of the year. The project includes various high-profile features from J. Cole, Yeat, SZA, Lil Yachty, and more.

In its first week, For All The Dogs sold 411K album-equivalent units. This marked Drake’s biggest debut since his 2021 LP, Certified Lover Boy. It was also one of the biggest opening days of the year for a hip hop release on Spotify, coming in just behind Travis Scott’s Utopia. The day it dropped, the new album garnered roughly 108.7 million streams. It was the seventh largest opening day for any release in Spotify history.

Now, it’s been reported that For All The Dogs has taken the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. This is far from the first time one of his albums has come out on top, however. He’s had 12 other albums hit No. 1 the Billboard 200 previously. Honestly, Nevermind, Certified Lover Boy, Her Loss with 21 Savage, and more also debuted at No. 1.

Though it’s clear that the project has been a commercial success so far, not everybody’s been impressed. Joe Budden, for example, share his thoughts on his podcast and claimed that Drake needs to be taking his music in a more mature direction. This prompted a response from the hitmaker, who fired back with a heated and lengthy message on Instagram. Metro Boomin Performs With Nav & Offset For “Amazon Music Live”

Metro Boomin took the stage with Offset for a performance of “Night Vision” off of the Migos rapper’s new album, Set It Off, as well as Nav for a performance of “Minute” during a set for Amazon Music Live, earlier this week. Offset’s song is one of the more emotional moments from his sophomore album and sees him reflect on his trials and tribulations from the last year, including the loss of Takeoff.

He raps, as noted by Uproxx: “Man, I feel alone, but that’s how it gotta be / Man, I would be lying if I say I ain’t miss the three / Nights I wanted to cry, why them n****s blaming me? / I don’t want no sorry, n****, the pain I feel ain’t easy / I’m thinking spinnin’ bout’ my brother Take, this sh*t been eating me / I can’t get no peace when I be sleeping, seeing demons / Fake smile on my face but they don’t know that I be scheming.”

Metro Boomin and Offset have collaborated numerous times over the years. Prior to Set It Off, Offset even appeared on the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Back in 2019, he discussed his working relationship with Metro during an appearance on Power 106 FM’s The Cruz Show. “We had two different rooms. So, he’s doing 16-hour sessions,” he began at the time. “I’m doing 16-hour sessions rapping. He’s doing a 16-hour-session production. And then, right before the [Father Of Four], we did like another additional 12, just both of us in the room, saying what instruments sounded fire… It’s like the old-school days. It ain’t like nobody’s sending you an email with a pack of beats, and you just happen to make one out of the six, you know what I mean.”

Set It Off Expected To Sell 65K First Week

Set It Off is expected to sell 65k album-equivalent units in its first week. The news has come as somewhat of a surprise to listeners, who expected that the project would sell far more. With that being said, this is only a projection. The album is also competing with some heavy-hitters, including Drake’s new album For All The Dogs, which arrived last week.

Ahead of the release, Offset described how even in death, his late Migos’ groupmate Takeoff encouraged him to finish the album. “I still feel his presence and his energy like, bro, ‘We got to go hard. We got to win. We got to win. This ain’t the end of it. We got to win,’” he told Zane Lowe. “So that’s another thing that pushed me through is my boy, Take, man. He didn’t care that he didn’t care about the numbers, nothing. He like, ‘Bro, y’all’s s–t hard.’ He’s just very supportive in that. I just keep that in the back of my mind and just keep pushing.” Are you surprised with the sales projections for Offset’s new album Set It Off? How are you liking the album so far? Bad Bunny’s First Week Sales Projections Suggest No. 1 Debut For “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Manana”

When Bad Bunny last surprised us with an album, Un Verano Sin Ti, the Latin rapper went on to break records for weeks to follow. His work was constantly resurfacing on Billboard‘s charts, beating out other rappers and singers thanks to the infectious vibe he curated on that LP. At the time, Benito managed to sell 328M copies in his first week out, solidifying his status as one of the biggest commercial artists in the industry at this time.

After dropping off his latest project, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Manana on Friday (October 13) with just a few days’ notice, Hits Daily Double has shared their first week sales projections for the 22-song effort. According to the outlet, Bunny’s album will move anywhere from 200 – 225K copies in the days immediately after dropping, which obviously marks a decline from his 2022 release. Nevertheless, the “Tarot” artist will likely outsell Drake’s For All The Dogs as it continues to amass streams during its second week out.

Bad Bunny Could Take No. 1 on the Charts

As we previously reported, the Canadian achieved the seventh-largest opening day in Spotify history with his R&B-centric LP. Bunny’s Nadie Sabe also made waves on the platform with his surprise drop becoming the “most-streamed album in a single day in 2023 so far.” It was a slow start to the year in terms of No. 1 rap albums, so seeing both Drake and his “Gently” collaborator continuing to push boundaries has been exciting for hip-hop heads.

Bad Bunny brought plenty to the table in terms of his new album, but what’s really got social media talking are his apparent references to his sex life with Kendall Jenner, as well as his name-drop of J Balvin on “THUNDER Y LIGHTNING.” Seeing as the latter duo has collaborated in the past, the Colombian was left surprised by Benito’s apparent diss. Read what he had to say at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
