Grammy-nominated superstar producer Metro Boomin took center stage at Amazon Music Live, hosted by 2 Chainz, in a visually captivating and high-energy performance streamed on Amazon Prime. The event followed Thursday Night Football’s Kansas City Chiefs versus Denver Broncos game.

Metro Boomin launched the night with an energetic performance of “On Time (with John Legend),” setting the stage for an extensive repertoire of hits featuring dynamic choreography. The audience was treated to crowd favorites like “Mask Off” with Future, “Niagara Falls” with Travis Scott and 21 Savage, Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands Pt 1,” and ILoveMakonnen’s “Tuesday,” among others. Special guest appearances added to the excitement, with NAV joining for “Calling,” “biebs in the trap,” and “Minute,” Offset collaborating on “Bad and Boujee” and “Ric Flair Drip,” as well as showcasing “Fan” and “Night Vision” from Offset’s latest album. The evening culminated with a spectacular joint performance with Post Malone, delivering a riveting rendition of the 5-time platinum fan favorite “Congratulations.”

This performance follows a monumental year for Metro Boomin, highlighted by the massive success of his second-studio album, “Heroes and Villains,” and a headlining performance at Coachella. His contributions to the “Across the Spider-Verse” soundtrack and a cameo in the movie further underscored his growing influence. Metro Boomin graced the cover of Billboard’s Grammys Preview 2024 Issue and performed at the 2023 VMAs, Billboard’s R&B Hip-Hop Live Event, and was honored on TIME100 NEXT and The Hollywood Reporter’s 25 Platinum Players in Music lists. At the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, he received awards for “Producer of the Year” and “DJ of the Year.”

Metro Boomin Performs With Nav & Offset For “Amazon Music Live”

Metro Boomin took the stage with Offset for a performance of “Night Vision” off of the Migos rapper’s new album, Set It Off, as well as Nav for a performance of “Minute” during a set for Amazon Music Live, earlier this week. Offset’s song is one of the more emotional moments from his sophomore album and sees him reflect on his trials and tribulations from the last year, including the loss of Takeoff.

He raps, as noted by Uproxx: “Man, I feel alone, but that’s how it gotta be / Man, I would be lying if I say I ain’t miss the three / Nights I wanted to cry, why them n****s blaming me? / I don’t want no sorry, n****, the pain I feel ain’t easy / I’m thinking spinnin’ bout’ my brother Take, this sh*t been eating me / I can’t get no peace when I be sleeping, seeing demons / Fake smile on my face but they don’t know that I be scheming.”

Metro Boomin and Offset have collaborated numerous times over the years. Prior to Set It Off, Offset even appeared on the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Back in 2019, he discussed his working relationship with Metro during an appearance on Power 106 FM’s The Cruz Show. “We had two different rooms. So, he’s doing 16-hour sessions,” he began at the time. “I’m doing 16-hour sessions rapping. He’s doing a 16-hour-session production. And then, right before the [Father Of Four], we did like another additional 12, just both of us in the room, saying what instruments sounded fire… It’s like the old-school days. It ain’t like nobody’s sending you an email with a pack of beats, and you just happen to make one out of the six, you know what I mean.”

As for Nav, “Minute” stems from his collaborative project with Metro Boomin, Perfect Timing. The two are currently working on a long-awaited sequel to the project.

Metro Boomin & Offset Came Together During ‘Amazon Music Live’ For A Surprise Performance Of ‘Night Vision’

The Amazon Music Live concert series is back. Last week, Lil Durk took the stage. This past Thursday, October 12, it was producer extraordinaire Metro Boomin‘s turn. Metro’s artistic credits include some of the biggest names in music, so he was sure to bring out a special guest.

During the show, Metro and Offset came together for a surprise performance of the song “Night Vision,” off his sophomore album Set It Off. The track is an emotional examination of Offset’s trials over the past year. Here’s a sample of his lyrics:

“Man, I feel alone, but that’s how it gotta be / Man, I would be lying if I say I ain’t miss the three / Nights I wanted to cry, why them n****s blaming me? / I don’t want no sorry, n****, the pain I feel ain’t easy / I’m thinking spinnin’ bout’ my brother Take, this sh*t been eating me / I can’t get no peace when I be sleeping, seeing demons / Fake smile on my face but they don’t know that I be scheming.”

In the stanza, Offset references his departure from the superstar rap trio Migos and the untimely death of then-member Takeoff.

During a 2019 appearance on Power 106 FM’s The Cruz Show, Offset talked about his past creative process working with Metro Boomin:

“We had two different rooms. So, he’s doing 16-hour sessions. I’m doing 16-hour sessions rapping.

Who Will Perform On ‘Amazon Music Live’ Season 2?

In its second season, Amazon Music Live continues to bring quality performers to the stage. The live-streaming music performance show returned this September with performances from Ed Sheeran and Feid. The season will continue with an illustrious line-up of artists.

This Thursday (October 5), on the 2 Chainz-hosted show, Lil Durk will take the stage. Lil Durk has had a pretty big year, with the release of his album Almost Healed, which contained the J. Cole-assisted hit single, “All My Life.”

The following Thursday (October 12), prolific producer Metro Boomin is set to deliver a cinematic set. This year, Metro has produced on albums by Young Thug and Travis Scott. He also executive produced the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack. According to a press release, Metro will be joined by surprise guests, as he delivers renditions of some of his biggest songs as a credited producer.

On October 19, Mexican superstar Peso Pluma will perform, with rapper Latto closing out the month the following Thursday (October 26).

Fans can tune into Amazon Music Live on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. PDT via Prime Video and Amazon’s Twitch Channel.

‘Amazon Music Live’ Is Coming Back With Performances By Ed Sheeran, Lil Durk, And More For Its Second Season

Amazon Music Live had a strong run of performances last year, like ones from Megan Thee Stallion, ASAP Rocky, and 21 Savage. Now the series, which airs live via Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, is coming back for 2023 with a terrific lineup.

The new season will kick off with Ed Sheeran on September 21, a week before the release of his album Autumn Variations. After Sheeran will be Latin star Feid on September 28, whose new album Mor No Le Temas a la Oscuridad is set to drop the next day. Lil Durk will follow on October 5 and more artists are set to be announced. All performances will go down at 9 p.m. PT, after Thursday Night Football. 2 Chainz will return to host the new season, as he did the first one.

Ryan Redington, GM of Amazon Music, said in a statement, “We created Amazon Music Live to bring sports and music fans together on Thursday nights for a brand-new, can’t-miss event celebrating new music after the biggest game of the week. Available to fans around the world on Prime Video and Twitch, AML became a massive new stage for artists to share their culture-defining new music after Thursday Night Football, and this year we’re going even bigger.”

21 Savage Flexed Both Old Hits And ‘Her Loss’ Faves For Amazon Music Live’s Final Concert Of 2022

Anytime I am able to hit a 21 Savage show, out of habit, I make that move. Floating on the massive success of his collaborative project Her Loss with Drake, the Grammy award-winning artist took to the RED Studios stage in Hollywood for Amazon Music Live’s final show of the year, so of course I had to be there.

The first time I saw 21 Savage live was at one of those iconic Ham On Everything (ironically, our UPROXX Sessions partner) warehouse parties in 2016. This was back when Savage was typecast as a “mumble” and “SoundCloud rapper” — descriptors that were meant to be taken in offense. At the same time, the Atlanta native had a whole crowd all the way in Los Angeles packed out in a smokey venue screaming all the words to “Red Opps” and “Skrrt Skrrt.” Oh, and the stage was packed out too! Three No. 1 albums, a Coachella performance, a Grammy award, a few platinum plaques, and an abundance of No. 1 hit songs later, it appears as if the “SoundCloud rapper” is doing alright.

Fast forward to his 2022 year-end Amazon Music Live appearance, and Savage is still bringing that same packed-out, energetic (but larger) crowd, only this time with an elevated stage presence immersed in glowing red light and billowing smoke. As the rap star emerged from backstage, he spun around in an accent swivel chair, donning the darkest of shades like a 9’0s R&B singer as he opened up the show with his phenomenal “Jimmy Cooks” verse from Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind.

Then, as the instrumental from Her Loss’ “3AM On Glenwood” softly played in the background, he got up from his chair, politely asked if the audience was ready to have a good time, and then requested they sing the next song with him. They sang along to all the songs, including his classic single “Red Opps” and Her Loss goodies such as “Major Distribution,” “More Ms,” “Privilege Rappers” and “Spin About U.” At some point, any hope for a surprise appearance by Drake quickly shriveled up as he continued to perform cuts off Her Loss solo. Even a pop-up from Young Nudy would have been dope, but most of the Amazon Music Live shows seem to lack guest appearances. No one seemed to mind though, because the energy in the building was so insane, especially with “Knife Talk” and “Rich Flex” as the evening’s closing numbers.

But honestly, Savage could’ve just performed any one of his projects, from The Slaughterhouse Tape to I Am > I Was to Savage Mode 2 to Her Loss, and a good time would still be had. Anyone who says Savage doesn’t have any songs in his catalog that will be remembered forever should absolutely revisit his entire discography. The way he was able to effortlessly weave in and out of his varying musical eras while keeping the crowd hype and turning the VIP lounge into the club, is why pulling up to 21 Savage show will always and continue to be the move.

21 Savage Performed His Hits With Drake And Metro Boomin For The Amazon Music Live 2022 Season Finale

21 Savage bodied his Amazon Music Live concert the way Dallas Cowboys fans thought their team would handle the Tennessee Titans, primarily starting their backups, on Thursday Night Football on Thursday night, December 29. The Cowboys won, 27-13, but Amazon Prime’s main event was unquestionably 21’s performance after the game — closing out the 2022 season of Amazon Music Live, hosted by 2 Chainz.

As the pre-show co-hosts Hannah Rad and Amber Wallin put it, Amazon Music Live tapped 21 to put a cherry on top of ’22 before we enter 2023.

The concert was streamed live on Amazon Music and Twitch from Hollywood. Savage commanded a vast stage, encouraging the crowd to yell “hell yeah” several times and honoring the late Virgil Abloh between “No Heart” and “X,” two tracks off his and Metro Boomin’s 2016 Savage Mode album. He also delivered two No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 smashes he was featured on, Drake’s “Jimmy Cooks” and Post Malone’s “Rockstar.”

In other words, 21 Savage had something for everyone’s tastes — from seminal solo songs like “Bank Account” and “Ball W/O You” to his and Drake’s new Her Loss hits and deeper cuts from his sprawling discography with Metro Boomin. To end the nearly hour-long set, 21 Savage said that Drake couldn’t make it out to the show and asked for the audience to help him with “Rich Flex,” peaking at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and supplying plenty of memes.

ASAP Rocky Finally Confirmed His New ‘Album’s Finished, Don’t Be Dumb, Let’s Go’

Firstime fatherhood has ignited a fierce creative fire under A$AP Rocky. After releasing two singles, “D.M.B.” and “Sh*ttin’ Me,” Rocky revealed an entire project is on the way during a concert performance for Amazon Music Live.

This album will mark Rocky’s first LP since 2018’s Testing. Previously thought to be titled, All Smiles, the rapper revealed it is officially named, Don’t Be Dumb. With input from Atlanta-based producer Metro Boomin, the project will surely deliver exciting blends of Rocky’s signature alternative New York rap sound with flairs of today’s dominating southern draws.

Before taking the stage, the rapper gleamingly shared a few words with fans via the video team stationed outside, “Thursday Night Football. Amazon. My first time back on the stage. Album’s finished. Don’t Be Dumb. Let’s go!”

During the stream, hosted by 2Chainz, Rocky performed several songs from the project. One of the tracks, titled “Roddy Rod Pipper,” instantly won the crowd over as they opened up a mosh pit to jam out to it.

The rumors of a track named after pop darling Taylor Swift are still floating around, but no further information has been released regarding the album or when it is expected to hit streaming platforms. However, we will be sure to share more details as they surface.
