Metro Boomin Gets Clowned Into Oblivion For Celebrating Private Twitter Likes

Recently, Twitter/X announced that moving forward, all likes on the platform will be kept private. This means that now, the only users who will be able to see if someone likes a post will be its author and the user who liked it. The platform says the change was made in order to “better protect your privacy,” and to boost engagement as users can now freely like the content they want to see more of without fear of other users knowing what they’re up to. The change has prompted mixed reactions so far, with most agreeing that it will make the user experience worse. Others, like Metro Boomin, couldn’t be happier.

The producer shared his take on the update with his followers on the platform earlier today. “Likes finally private,” he wrote alongside a series of fire emojis. Clearly, he can’t wait to take full advantage of his newfound privacy. As a result, however, fans are now hounding him with questions and jokes about what he could be trying to hide.

Metro Boomin Shares His Excitement With Fans

“Tf you plottin?” one Twitter user wonders in his comments section. Another asks, “Why are you happy about it?” Of course, Twitter’s latest change comes only days after the platform announced that pornographic content will be officially permitted under its updated policy.

Now, users are in the clear to post what they want so long as it’s “properly labeled and not prominently displayed.” Plenty of fans also think this could have something to do with Metro Boomin’s enthusiasm. This is unconfirmed, though some have already dubbed him “Freaky Boomin.”

Social Media Users Wonder What Metro Boomin’s Hiding

What do you think of Twitter’s latest update? Do you prefer likes to be hidden, or do you wish they would be made public again? What about Metro Boomin revealing his excitement earlier today? Kehlani Donates More Than $550k In Merch Sales To Palestine, Sudan, & Congo

Last month, Kehlani announced the release of her 4th studio album CRASH. The project has already been teased with a pair of new singles and fans won’t have to wait long to hear the whole thing. The album is expected to be released in its entirety next week on June 21. It represents a year already packed full of major R&B releases from artists like PARTYNEXTDOOR, 4batz, SiR, Kali Uchis, Erika De Casier, and more. But with the release of her new album she also undertook a massive charitable gesture with her newest line of merch sales.

Kehlani has been one of the loudest voices speaking in support of the people of Palestine in all of entertainment. It’s been a controversial subject since October of last year when long-standing tensions between Palestine and Israel erupted into full-on conflict. Now the R&B singer backed up her vocal support with a massive financial donation not just to Palestine, but to Sudan and Congo as well. Last month, she released the second single from CRASH, “Next 2 U” and its accompanying music video. She also launched a merch line in tandem with the release designed to raise money for Operation Olive Branch. In a new Instagram post she revealed the staggering amount of money she raised as a result. Check out the post below.

Megan Thee Stallion Shades Charlamagne Over Arena Criticism

Megan Thee Stallion has had one success after another in 2024. She scored a number one single with her diss, “HISS,” she won her court case against Tory Lanez, and she’s been killing it on tour. In fact, the rapper recently set the record for highest-attended show at Madison Square Garden by a female rapper. Megan Thee Stallion is A-list, and she took time out from her busy schedule to show love to her fans on Instagram. She also found time to address some criticisms that have been leveled at her in recent weeks. Particularly those made by Charlamagne Tha God.

Megan posted a list of her favorite things that happened on tour. They ranged from getting flowers to performing alongside her backup dancers. The point that immediately jumped out, though, was a not so veiled dig at Charlamagne. “Ima pop my sh*t for a second lol,” she wrote. “But people questioned if I was an arena artist anddd I mean [shrug emoji] teehee.” She doesn’t mention Charlamagne by name, but he’s clearly the target, given the doubt he cast on Megan’s stardom back in May. He flat out claimed that she wasn’t an “arena artist” and his co-hosts agreed. “I mean, if she’s doing arenas, she shouldn’t be doing arenas,” he stated. “She’s not an arena artist. Salute to Megan Thee Stallion but she’s not an arena artist, maybe a theater artist. But not yet.”

Megan Thee Stallion Proved That She’s An “Arena Artist”

The comment generated a wave of backlash, though, with many claiming that Charlamagne was not giving the rapper her due. To Charlamagne’s credit, he retracted his statement. A day after his “not an arena artist” comment was made, he apologized to Megan and her fans. “Clearly we got our answers,” he stated. “She sold out 13 arena stops in over 240K tickets across North America and Europe. Yeah so if you’re selling out arenas, you’re an arena artist.” Charlamagne’s Breakfast Club co-host, Jess, then urged fans to keep supporting Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan is used to the doubt. The rapper told L’OFFICIEL that she struggled mightily with the criticisms she received after the Tory Lanez case, in particular. “I felt so awful every day,” she stated. “It was such a hard place to get out of. I don’t even want to care who hates me, really. What I should be focusing on is the love that I do receive. That’s what I’m trying to get better about now.” Megan’s latest Instagram post is clearly an example of new focus. She may have thrown shade at Charlamagne, but she made sure to bring it back to her fans. “I have more people to thank and more moments to make,” she concluded. “But I love everyone who has been making this tour amazing so far! Thank you.”

Are Donald Glover & Maya Erskine Coming Back For ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ Season 2 Or Not?

Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith concluded its first season by leaving viewers wondering who died and who lived. Their pension for mystery is not limited to the Amazon Prime Video series adaptation’s first eight episodes, however.

Are Donald Glover & Maya Erskine Coming Back For Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 Or Not?

On May 14, Variety reported that Mr. & Mrs. Smith had been renewed for a second season at Amazon Prime Video, but “sources say that Season 1 stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are not expected to return to star in Season 2. Glover is still credited as a co-creator and executive producer on the series alongside Francesca Sloane, who will return as showrunner.”

Pretty straightforward. But then, Glover and Erskine appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, and we’re back to not knowing what’s going on with this show. Kimmel asked Glover and Erskine about the Variety report, and Erskine shrugged. “You know, I don’t know,” Glover said. “It’s like November 28, and the kids know there’s a Christmas present, and they’re like, ‘Mom, where’s the Christmas present?’” Kimmel interrupted Glover’s attempt to skirt the question, saying, “No, it’s not like that. It’s like it’s November 28, and the kids don’t know if Santa is even coming.”

Glover laughed and offered that, within the same metaphor, “you might ruin Christmas” if you tell the kids anything too early. Erskine added, “It’ll be more fun if you see the second season — you wanna wait!” Then, Glover concluded (sort of), “Who says we’re not in it? Maybe we are, maybe we aren’t.”

Additionally, Sloane addressed the Variety report on Entertainment Weekly’s The Awardist podcast last month.

“I was just talking to Donald last night about this, and we were laughing because one of the pieces of press said, ‘According to our sources,’ and we’re like, ‘Who are these sources?’ said the Mr. & Mrs. Smith showrunner, who also served as a supervising producer on Atlanta. “We wrote a cliffhanger, we thought about it long and hard. It was one of the first things that we wrote. Why in the world — we haven’t said anything — but why in the world would we ruin a cliffhanger based on a headline?”

Don Toliver Unveils The Feature-Packed Tracklist For His New Album

Don Toliver’s new album is just a few days away and his follow-up to 2023’s Love Sick is arriving on the back of quite a bit of hype. The album had three singles dropped in the lead-up to its release starting with the fan-favorite Tame Impala-sampling “Bandit.” That was succeeded by “Deep In The Water” and then just a few weeks ago by the Charlie Wilson and Cash Cobain assisted “Attitude.” Now with the release of the album less than 48 hours away he’s unveiled the entire 16-song tracklist for the new album.

HARDSTONE PSYCHO splits its three singles up throughout the tracklist. But what fans are much more focused on is the features. Charlie Wilson and Cash Cobain are just two of the multiple big names set to appear on the record. Kodak Black, Future, and Teezo Touchdown will also appear on the record. Travis Scott is contributing to two different songs on the record in a year where he’s already been busy with features on 21 Savage and Future’s new albums. Check out the full trasklist announcement below.

Common And Pete Rock Announce Release Date For Collab Album

Common and Pete Rock have made magic together. They’re two of the most venerated artists in hip-hop, with classic albums and songs dating back to the 1990s. They have nothing left to prove, which is what makes their decision to collab on an entire project so exciting. They are doing it strictly for the love of the art, and to quell the desires of fans who have spent years dreaming about a Com and Rock album. Now, we have an official release date for the album, which is titled The Auditorium, Vol. 1.

Common took to Instagram on June 11 to break the news. He revealed the album title and the release date in one fell swoop. He also gave some insight into its origins. “I am super geeked and supremely grateful to announce… The Auditorium Vol. 1 dropping July 12,” he wrote. “We pray and hope that this music will move your spirit and be with you for the rest of your life. Thanks to all who helped make it happen and to all of you for the Supreme Love. GOD Bless.” The rapper also discussed the anticipation surrounding the new album. He admitted that he felt great whenever fans voiced their excitement for such a long-anticipated collab. “It just makes me happy to be a part of this art form,” Common noted.

Common And Pete Rock Are Dropping On July 12

Common wasn’t the only one who was excited to unveil the album. Pete Rock left a comment on the post with his own message. “I honor our friendship since 91 home slice lol,” he noted. “This was a dream I had for years to come together with you on something.” The producer also hyped up the results, telling fans it is well worth the wait. “Now we get to show everyone the results after working with each other on our 1st album ever,” he added. “Man this is exciting my bro Thank you so much for this @Common.”

The duo is best known for their 1996 single “The B*tch In Yoo,” which was a diss record aimed at Ice Cube. Com and Rock discussed the diss during a recent appearance on Drink Champs. The latter went on to admit that he supported Common all the way, but was disappointed to learn that Ice Cube was mad at him. The two men reconciled when Ice Cube and Common squashed their beef in 1997. Common even gave Cube a shoutout on the album announcement, citing him as an inspiration.

50 Cent’s Explosive True Crime Documentary “TikTok Star Murders” Is Coming Soon

On top of impressing fans with his “Final Lap” tour, 50 Cent has been hard at work on another project, this time focusing his efforts on the small screen. Recently, he announced an upcoming true crime documentary, TikTok Star Murders. The doc will cover the tragic story of Ana Marie Abulaban, a 28-year-old content creator who was murdered by her husband Ali Abulaban. She and her alleged lover, Rayburn Barron, were shot and killed in October of 2021. Last month, Ali was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder for the shooting.

TikTok Star Murders will reportedly feature never-before-seen cellphone footage, audio, and more. It will also include interviews with close family members and friends of the former couple. The doc will become available for streaming exclusively on Peacock on June 25.
