Will Nicki Minaj’s Tour In 2024 Have Openers?

Just a few days after Nicki Minaj was announced as one of the headliners for Rolling Loud California’s 2024 festival, it seems she has some other surprises tied to her upcoming Pink Friday 2 album.

Today on Twitter, Minaj teased that she’s planning to release the lineup for her upcoming tour on Friday, November 17. “This will be incorporated into the tour lineup… the tour lineup that you guys will have in 3 days,” Minaj posted, pointing out that her shows will at least be held in March if her festival appearance is included among her dates.

While it’s still unknown who exactly Minaj’s tour opening acts will be, this does confirm that she will have (at least) one. Depending on what she intended with the post, her openers could be other Rolling Loud California performers. Some of the other top-billed women — Summer Walker, Sexyy Red, or Flo Milli — could be potential contenders for Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 shows.

Upon hearing the news, fans are also thrilled about the chance to hear Minaj’s new album at the California festival. Others are worried about if it will be her only show in Los Angeles for the tour.

Today, Scott graced the cover of GQ where he was asked about the tragedy. Scott spoke candidly about what took place, noting that it was an awful event. He understands the effect it had on the families and the people who witnessed it all go down. Furthermore, he made sure to mention how he is constantly thinking about what happened and how he could have handled it differently. “I always think about it. Those fans were like my family. You know, I love my fans to the utmost… You just feel for those people. And their families,” Travis said.

Subsequently, Scott talked about the song “My Eyes” on Utopia. Overall, this track was about the feelings he has from the event. Although some feel like he doesn’t care, he actually does care a great deal. “[I want them] to know I have pain too,” Travis Scott said. “I have concerns, things that I think about, and the things I see on a day-to-day basis I think about them. And every day I want to find change in the things, to make things better, make myself better. It’s just like: I go through things like everyone else. And even recently through something like I never could imagine.”

Kisha Chavis, the wife of ex-NBA player Joe Smith, returned to It Is What It Is at the request of Ma$e to provide his co-host, Cam’ron, a massage live on the show. The move is a throwback to last week when Chavis revealed during an interview on Check That Stat that one of her non-OnlyFans side hustles was running a massage business. Cam’ron hyper-fixated on this detail, asking Chavis if she would perform a massage on him.

Additionally, the move comes just a few days after Smith himself spoke out about Cam’ron’s conduct towards his wife. “It bothers me a lot. I did not just see that but the messages I got from people who actually went to her OnlyFans page. They sent it on Instagram [and] Facebook, talking about how my wife looks and what kind of pictures my wife got,” Smith told DJ Vlad as part of their ongoing interview about the subject.

Smith And His Wife Give Differing Accounts Of OnlyFans Drama

Furthermore, Smith’s interview with DJ Vlad paints a very different picture of the situation than his wife. Earlier in the DJ Vlad interview, Smith gave his first published thoughts about just what went down after he learned that his wife was running an OnlyFans. Specifically, he denied that the now-viral fight was actually a publicity stunt for the site. Nah, that’s not what happened and that’s not what’s going on right now. It’s a real issue. The video hurt, but then also, the fact that the way I had to find out about the OnlyFans page, that’s another thing on top of that that hurts as well,” Smith said. Furthermore, Smith claimed that he had discovered the account when he caught his wife checking her account on her phone.

However, Chavis painted a different story when she spoke to TMZ a few weeks ago. Chavis explained that she had been running an account for over a year before a house guest of Smith’s revealed it to her husband. Additionally, Chavis explained why she set the page up. “It was a decision that I made. I made an executive decision when my man wasn’t taking the lead. I really love Joe,” Kisha Chavis told TMZ. Elaborating, Chavis said that Smith’s mental health had taken a major blow after he left the NBA in 2011. According to Chavis, Smith struggled to come to terms with going from #1 pick to unwanted by any team in the league. Furthermore, she said that while Smith did very little to try and alleviate their financial burdens, she had set up a number of money-making side hustles.

We’re now in the final weeks of the year, and it’s around this time that new music releases tend to slow down as artists set their sights on 2024. Cardi B, though, seems to be at least considering unveiling something new before 2023 comes to an end.

During a Twitter Space live event on November 13 (audio of which was preserved by HipHopDX), Cardi thought out loud, saying, “But I was thinking about, you know, being really quiet, being private. But I don’t know. Maybe I should just… I don’t know, maybe I should put a lil’ something something out before the year ends. It depends, though, because… hmm, would y’all mind if I just do, like, a video? I don’t know, if I do a music video that’s just probably in my kitchen because I don’t really have nothing planned for, like, right now. I don’t know. I’ll think about it by the end of the day. I don’t know, I don’t know. I just feel like I gotta talk my sh*t a little bit. You know what I’m saying? I don’t know, I don’t know.”

As for what Cardi’s been up to lately, she dropped “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion and made a memorable Hot Ones appearance.

Rod Wave is currently on tour to celebrate the release of one of his more successful records, Nostalgia. The fifth full-length project in the rapper’s discography is racking up the streams as of late. All five of Rod’s most popular songs are from his latest tape. Those are as follows: “Turks & Caicos” with 21 Savage, “Boyz Don’t Cry,” “Great Gatsby,” “Call Your Friends,” and “Fight The Feeling.” All of that amounted to around 137,000 units sold. To further cement the project’s status Rod is selling out shows and performing controversial stunts that have had everyone talking. Now, we have another interesting but scary development around his tour.

After a presumedly great show, fans felt like nothing could have gone wrong that night. However, there were a few unlucky concertgoers. Multiple cars were broken into across numerous parking lots. Some publications, including HipHopDX, were originally reporting that over 200 vehicles were tampered with. However, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), corrected those claims, clarifying that there were “approximately 10.”

This may not be surprising for D.C. residents, though. Since 2022, there has been a staggering 98 percent uptick in crime. YNW Melly‘s mother, Jamie King, has responded to the news that her son’s murder retrial has been pushed back on her Instagram Story, Tuesday. Judge John Murphy ruled, earlier this week, that the rapper will not stand trial in the case again until February. He cited “extraordinary circumstances” in handing down the decision.

“I’m sorry, kid [teary-eyed emoji][broken heart emoji],” she captioned one photo of the headlines. In another post, she elaborated: “Lawsuits, lies, delayed trials, overdue bill, seeing death everyday at work but have no choice but to work. Broken heart, sadness, stress, tears, fears, 5 years.”

The trial delay comes following the defense’s recent request to start the jury selection process over again. They had made an error they made while presenting instructions to the group. After accidentally telling them they needed to find the rapper guilty of everything of which he’s accused to proceed with a guilty verdict, they argued that the misstep would cause them to lose “all credibility with the jurors should the court read that instruction.”

The state disagreed with the defense’s motion. “While the state understands the court acting in an abundance of caution, objections being sustained and jury instructions being read by the court to rectify the misstatement of law should not rise to the level of starting over,” prosecutors argued. “All of this time being spent on jurors that have now been struck could have gone to time both sides clearly need to further prepare for the trial. In an interview with Rodney Carmichael of NPR, Andre 3000 got to speak on a plethora of topics surrounding the album. Moreover, he even spoke on some of the things that have happened to him over the past couple of years. For instance, he noted that Virgil Abloh’s family wanted him to play flute at his funeral. However, Andre felt like he would be a distraction. Not to mention, he didn’t know Virgil that well and didn’t think it would be appropriate.

“When Virgil [Abloh] passed, his family asked would I play at the funeral and I denied it, but only because I felt like I would be a distraction,” Andee 3000 explained. “I don’t know, I just felt like it would have taken away from the moment and I only knew Virgil through texts and a few conversations. So I couldn’t pretend like I knew him that well. I was honored that the family asked me to play at the funeral, but I couldn’t. And so when I told Guillermo, he was like, ‘Yeah, sometimes you have to look at it now as a responsibility to play. They asked you to play for a reason.’”
