Snoop Dogg Attends Brother’s Funeral Service

Snoop Dogg and his family recently commemorated his brother Bing Worthington’s life and legacy in a formal ceremony after a lot of healing, reflection, and mourning. For those unaware, Worthington passed away last week at the age of 44, and its cause is still unknown at press time. Moreover, the Long Beach rapper shared a picture of the funeral service on Instagram on Tuesday (February 20), and you can see that he and his loved ones donned red outfits for the occasion. They stand next to the casket in the picture. Many peers like Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, and more shared their condolences in the comments section.

“Everlastin love Beverly’s boys,” Snoop Dogg captioned the tribute post, alluding to their connection as half-brothers through their mother’s side. “Dirty left bing and snoopy [fire emoji] [rose emoji] [dove emoji]. @badabing33 miss that laugh and the way u made us smile keep mama company till we get there [dove emoji] [peace sign emoji].” This adds to his multiple social media tributes to Bing Worthington, who had assisted him with tour managing, a writing credit, and merchandising. Worthington had also co-founded a record label in Canada with Miguel Lopez and rapped in the duo Lifestyle.

Snoop Dogg At Bing Worthington’s Funeral

“When I put the [Lifestyle] album out, I was putting everything in the music together,” he told Vice back in 2016. “My guy was a great rapper and I was a great rapper, but I was like, ‘Why am I working on the music? I should be doing all the business side of this thing.’ I love meeting people, talking business, that got me going. That made me feel like another person.” In addition to all this, Snoop Dogg recently and briefly commented on how his faith is guiding him through this tragic time.

Meanwhile, he is slowly but surely reintegrating into more public appearances, although they were likely filmed before these developments. For example, Tha Doggfather recently chopped it up with Benny The Butcher about his connection to other rappers through smoking. We hope that he continues to heal and process this at his own pace, and that he keeps paying tribute to his brother in his own way. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Snoop Dogg.
Rest In Peace Bing Worthington.

Andre 3000 Reveals He Was Invited To Play Flute At Virgil Abloh’s Funeral, Explains Why He Said “No”

Andre 3000 made a huge announcement yesterday, and fans are still reeling from it. The legendary artist will be coming through with an instrumental album called New Blue Sun. Overall, this is a project that will consist of the rapper playing the flute. Although many wanted a rap album from him, it seems like this will not be in the cards. Instead, he is making the kind of album that he wanted to do. It spoke to him in the moment, and you have to love him taking a huge risk.

In an interview with Rodney Carmichael of NPR, Andre 3000 got to speak on a plethora of topics surrounding the album. Moreover, he even spoke on some of the things that have happened to him over the past couple of years. For instance, he noted that Virgil Abloh’s family wanted him to play flute at his funeral. However, Andre felt like he would be a distraction. Not to mention, he didn’t know Virgil that well and didn’t think it would be appropriate.

Andre 3000 Divulges On His Decision

“When Virgil [Abloh] passed, his family asked would I play at the funeral and I denied it, but only because I felt like I would be a distraction,” Andee 3000 explained. “I don’t know, I just felt like it would have taken away from the moment and I only knew Virgil through texts and a few conversations. So I couldn’t pretend like I knew him that well. I was honored that the family asked me to play at the funeral, but I couldn’t. And so when I told Guillermo, he was like, ‘Yeah, sometimes you have to look at it now as a responsibility to play. They asked you to play for a reason.’”

Turning down something like that can be tough, but given his reasoning, it makes a whole lot of sense. We’re sure Virgil’s family understood completely. Let us know what you think of this story, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed.

Some have speculated that the actor, who previously struggled with subtance abuse, had relapsed prior to the incident. Athenna Crosby recalled her final moments with Perry during an interview with Fox News Digital, claiming that she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary with him when they met for lunch that week.

“I am now recalling all of the details about it just because the situation has been so tragic. And I’ve been kind of thinking like, ‘OK, was there anything that I, I guess, should have noticed or was there anything that stuck out to me?’ And honestly, no, there wasn’t,” she explained. “He was so normal. He ordered a cheeseburger and had a Diet Coke and really just a normal day like any other day.” What do you think of the cast of Friends attending Matthew Perry’s funeral? Lil Uzi Vert Speaks On Paying For Lotta Cash Desto’s Funeral

The tragic death of frequent Lil Uzi Vert collaborator Lotta Cash Desto in a drive-by shooting shocked them profoundly. For those unaware, Desto was killed in September of 2022, and the Memphis rapper was just starting to establish herself as a rising name to watch. While Uzi didn’t speak out on this publicly too much, they did a lot behind the scenes to honor her legacy and pay tribute to her memory. Moreover, they just spoke briefly on the subject on the track “Days Come and Go” off of their latest album Pink Tape. In a set of bars, the Philly star spoke on paying for her funeral costs.

“I got too much on my mind, too much on my plate,” Lil Uzi Vert rapped on the song. “I spent two-hundred thousand on Desto funeral, that’s an estate / I don’t know why they be mad at me, ’cause I’m expressin’ my ways.” Overall, the track is among the more somber and emotive cuts on the album, and this line certainly adds to that weight in the tracklist. In addition, during her funeral, the 27-year-old spoke earnestly and lovingly of their relationship with Lotta Cash Desto.

Lil Uzi Vert Addresses Lotta Cash Desto’s Funeral

“I ain’t gon’ lie this don’t even feel real to me,” Lil Uzi Vert expressed during the services. “Destinee was always on my hip everywhere I go. I had got in some trouble and they put me away I had to go to a rehab program and all that. She called me every day. Even if she called to argue with me, she called me every day and that’s what counted.” While there are many standout lyrical moments on Pink Tape, this one made for one of the album’s most powerful and saddening narratives.

Meanwhile, another lyrical focus that fans picked up on was Uzi confirming their sexual orientation. “First of all, I f**k eight b***hes a day / How could you ever say Lil Uzi gay?” they rap on the opener “Flooded The Face.” Over the next few weeks, we’re sure we’ll be picking up on a lot more that they had to say on their highly-anticipated album. Lil Baby Attends Funeral For Bre’Asia Powell: “We Gotta Change”

Lil Baby attended the funeral of Bre’Asia Powell who was shot and killed during a graduation party in her high school’s parking lot on May 28. The service was held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Atlanta. Lil Baby called for an end to gun violence while speaking at the service.

“What I do want to say to the youth, to like a younger generation, and I’m saying it as a ‘we,’ because I’m with y’all, we gotta change,” Lil Baby said. “A lot of time when people talk it’s more so like on the males, but I’m speaking for the males and the females. The females make the young males think this and that is cool when it’s not. So, the young boys doing this and that, and proving to the girls that they cool when all of it, in the end, it’s not cool. The same girls, they ain’t gon’ be with you, they gon’ be with the opps when you go to jail. I’m only here to not speak but like she said, we gotta come up with a plan and I’m here to help the plan.”

Baby wasn’t the only Atlanta rapper in attendance. Young Dro also spoke with the crowd. “Get you some friends to push you to your potential, and you gotta listen to these adults too,” Dro advised.

“Myself and Mayor Andre Dickens were born and raised in the Adamsville community. We attended L.P. Miles Elementary School just like young Bre’Asia. So she’s a member of our community,” Atlanta City Council member Andrea L. Boone said. She later added: “A message to the parents: It’s the year of the youth. We want them to be busy during the summer months. We want them to have something creative, a job, we have so many people ready to hire our young people.”

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $10,000 to anyone with information regarding the shooting. Bre’Asia’s aunt Sharon Williams called for witnesses to help the police with the case. “Why wouldn’t you share? Why wouldn’t you care enough? What if it was your niece, your sister? If it was your cousin, daughter, or granddaughter, why wouldn’t you want that person to be held accountable? They took a life,” she said, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

Westside Gunn Gives $10,000 To Funeral Of Buffalo Woman On “WWCD” Cover

When it comes to releases from the Griselda camp, 2019’s WWCD stands out as a benchmark achievement. Not only was it among the group’s final fully collaborative releases (so far), but it set the stage for their current dominance in the 2020s decade, as well as exemplifying what made the crew so special before. Young Thug Let Out Of Jail To Attend Angela Grier’s Funeral: Report

Since he was unexpectedly arrested on May 9, 2022, Young Thug has been through one of the most gruelling years of his life. He’s given up his lavish rapper lifestyle for a prison cell that affords him none of his past luxuries. Additionally, he’s lost some of those closest to him. There’s his seemingly tarnished friendship with Gunna. This follows the DS4EVER hitmaker’s decision to take an Alford plea in their RICO case. Elsewhere, he’s been challenged with the death of close friends and family members.

Days after Thugger was placed behind bars, on May 13, a YSL artist who luckily wasn’t caught up in the investigation, Lil Keed, tragically lost his life. The “Freak” artist was just 24 years old at the time, and his death was reportedly a result of eosinophilia. The late recording artist’s brother, Lil Gotit, previously detailed his attempt to help the late star by rushing him to the hospital. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save Keed. Now, Young Thug is facing more tragic news in the form of his older sister, Angela Grier’s sudden death.

Thugger Mourns His Older Sister

The announcement came via Dolly White, another of the incarcerated artist’s siblings, at the end of March. At this time, the details surrounding Grier’s death remain unknown. Nevertheless, new reports claim that her brother was allegedly granted a temporary release from jail in order to attend her funeral. No photos from the event have surfaced online. However, a tweet circulating alleges that “They let lil Jeff come see his sister🥰” as the YSL head continues to await his highly anticipated trial.

Word of Young Thug’s reported release – even if only temporary – left many fans feeling happy for the 31-year-old. “Awwww I was hoping they would,” one Twitter user wrote in response to the initial post. “Lol yes they did. N*gga had on a suit and Air Force 1’s,” the same account noted. The simple but effective description provides fans with a mental visual of what the So Much Fun hitmaker looked like on the sombre day. See video footage from Angela Grier’s funeral below. Make sure to check back later for any updates on the YSL RICO trial.

Stephen Jackson Criticizes Al Sharpton’s Tyre Nichols Eulogy: “All For Political Gain”

Today (February 1), the public funeral for Tyre Nichols was livestreamed for the world. The 29-year-old was killed earlier this month by a mob of police officers who savagely beat him. Three days later, Nichols, a father of a four-year-old, succumbed to his injuries. Several political figures and celebrities gathered for Nichols’s homegoing, and Rev. Al Sharpton was responsible for delivering the eulogy.

“The tape speaks for itself. They started beating an unarmed man,” said Sharpton. “In the city where the dreamer laid down and shed his blood, you have the unmitigated gall to beat your brother.” The display is being talked about across social media platforms, and Stephen Jackson chimed in with a hot take.

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE – FEBRUARY 01: Rev. Al Sharpton delivers the eulogy during the funeral service for Tyre Nichols at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church on February 1, 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee. On January 7th, 29-year-old Nichols was violently beaten for three minutes by Memphis police officers at a traffic stop and died of his injuries. Five Black Memphis Police officers have been fired after an internal investigation found them to be directly responsible for the beating and have been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, two charges of aggravated kidnapping, two charges of official misconduct and one charge of official oppression. On Instagram, The Shade Room posted about Sharpton’s appearance at Nichols’s funeral. It wasn’t a sight that impressed Jackson, who worked alongside activists when George Floyd was killed by officers in Minnesota. The former NBA giant called out purported leaders who he suggested have ulterior motives.

“Y’all keep letting these folk fool y’all,” Jackson commented. “Same scene Al sharpton and Crump Crew. All for political gain. They pray on people’s pain.” He also said, “Seeen it first hand with G Floyd. If it’s not a national media case u won’t see them. Yet we getting killed everywhere by police. Free game.”

Attorney Ben Crump, who was also at the Nichols funeral, is well-known as a representative for families of police violence. Sharpton has a long history of activism, although his methods have often been criticized by all sides.

It is further reported that five Memphis police officers were fired, all Black men, and another two were relieved of their duties. Additionally, the Memphis Fire Department also made some changes. A lieutenant and two emergency responders were also fired following an investigation. It was stated that they did not adequately administer aid to Nichols following the attack.
