Gayle King Curves Tia Kemp After Rick Ross’ Ex Pitches Interview Idea

Being in the public eye so prominently means that Rick Ross has no shortage of women vying for his attention. The Biggest Boss’ latest lover was up-and-coming artist Cristina Mackey, who’s been on his arm over the past few months at various events around the world. Like most of Ross’ relationships, this fling was relatively short-lived. This was much to the pleasure of his ex and co-parent, Tia Kemp, who’s been in the headlines for throwing shade at both Mackey and her baby daddy.

After their split, it didn’t take long for Kemp to start hurling insults. She called the “Coastin’” artist a “dusty crusty Tweety Bird” last week, prompting Mackey to clap back with some shade of her own. In the meantime, Kemp is focusing on building her brand and telling her story, even ambitiously aiming for an interview with Gayle King. As HipHopDX reports, the social media star ran into the journalist while running errands recently, and had no insecurities about approaching her.

“Hi Gayle, I need to come on your show. You just don’t know who I am,” Kemp said. “What would we be talking about?” King responded before cutting the interaction short. Regardless of the rejection, Rozay’s ex still posted the footage on Instagram. “We go talk about everything, Get Me There,” she wrote in her caption.

Gayle King might not be willing to sit down with Tia Kemp just yet, but the 69-year-old has become accustomed to sharing details of her personal life with the world. Not so long ago she admitted to previously giving a man she was involved with child support money for his family. This ultimately gave her a bad case of the ick. Read all about that at the link below, and let us know if you think Tia would be an appropriate interview subject for Gayle in the comments.

Charles Barkley Promises To Punch Any Black Person Who Wears Donald Trump Mugshot Shirt

Charles Barkley is someone who has not shied away from delivering his political opinions. Overall, he is someone who has voted for Democrats and Republicans over the years. For instance, he has recently been endorsing Nikki Haley for president. She is the main challenger to Donald Trump, although it doesn’t look like she has much of a shot to win. Instead, Trump is in the lead, and his supporters are going to make sure he gets a rematch against Joe Biden come November.

Having said that, Barkley got to speak about his distaste for Trump while on his CNN show with Gayle King. During the show, they spoke about how Trump believes black people like him due to his charges. In fact, Trump said that black people are currently wearing shirts with his mugshot on them. King brought this up to Barkley, and he was not pleased. In fact, he said that if he were to see a black person wearing such a shirt, he would get violent.

Charles Barkley Gives His Take

“First of all, I’m just gonna say this: if I see a Black person walking around with a Trump mug shot, I’m gonna punch him in the face,” Barkley said. King was in a bit of disbelief in terms of Barkley’s declaration. She noted that he would probably never actually go through with doing that. However, Barkley stood his ground and said that it is how he feels. Clearly, he is a huge detractor of Trump’s and there is nothing anyone can say to change that. Whether or not we see Barkley punching anyone, remains to be seen.

The election is coming up fast, and there is no doubt that it will be divisive. The first Biden and Trump election came at a pivotal time in the United States. Only time will tell who will end up leading the country for the next four years. Let us know your thoughts on Barkley’s comments, down below. Fat Joe Defends Lying In “95%” His Lyrics

Fat Joe has explained why he admitted to lying in “95%” of his lyrics, arguing that he had to speak out for those whose music is being used against them in court. Joe had been discussing his music and Young Thug’s ongoing trial during an interview with Gayle King on CNN.

“I’ve been rapping professionally for 30 years,” Fat Joe, last week. “I’ve lied in almost 95 percent of my songs. I’m being honest. I write like I feel that day. I’m just being creative. You couldn’t build a jail high enough for the lyrics I’ve said on songs, which are all untrue. What I am is a family man, the person who gives back to my community all the time, opens businesses in my community.”

In doing so, he described himself as an “elder statesman of Hip-Hop.” “I had to say 95% of what I say is a lie so that they could understand that it’s unfair to try some kids for the rest of their life with sh*t they might have not done,” Joe explained. “None of this sh*t is true. It’s creativity. It’s imagination. Those who know, know. If I say I use my creativity, my imagination in my music, don’t mean I ain’t lived a real f*cking life in the streets.” Check out his latest comments on the matter below.

Are Jennifer Hudson And Common Dating?

On Monday, November 6, Jennifer Hudson stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers and discussed becoming an EGOT winner, dressing as Missy Elliott for Halloween, and overcoming her fear of public speaking to successfully host The Jennifer Hudson Show. It was a lovely exchange, but Hudson saved the relationship talk for Gayle King and the CBS Mornings crew. Hudson’s love life is a point of interest (again) this week, as a viral Backgrid paparazzi photo of Hudson and Common — an Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar winner, for those keeping score at home — holding hands in New York City is making the rounds. So, are they dating?

“Professional Jennifer is doing well,” King said toward the end of the five-plus-minute segment. “Personally, is Jennifer doing well? Word on the street is you’re very happy [and in] a very nice relationship.”

Hudson confirmed she is, indeed, “very happy” before King politely added the caveat that Hudson’s relationship is “with someone who shall remain nameless,” which earned a belly laugh from Hudson. That’s when co-host and former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson cut in more directly, saying, “So, you booed up?”

“Booed up?” Hudson responded. “Hmm, I think it’s more sophisticated than ‘booed up.’” Burleson pressed on with brave investigative journalism to further clarify whether Hudson is in a “situationship” or “entanglement,” to which Hudson said, “It’s definitely not an entanglement. That’s for sure!”

Dating rumors around Common and Hudson started bubbling in August 2022, shortly after news broke that they would be starring in the action-thriller Breathe. Hudson more or less shut the rumor mill down in September 2022. She told Entertainment Tonight, “People create their narratives of it, and it’s like, OK, you know, how you feel. We shot a film together, and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”

To Hudson’s point, they were photographed together at Nobu in Malibu, California this February (as noted by People), and then, TMZ asked Hudson about it again this August. Hudson expertly side-stepped the question by saying, “Rumors say a lot of things, but he’s a beautiful man. I will give you that. That’s for certain.” Within the same report, TMZ relayed that unnamed sources told the outlet Common and Hudson had “been together for months.”

Neither Common nor Hudson have explicitly publicly confirmed that they are dating each other, but this week’s hand-holding and talk-show giddiness are the most convincing clues in our evidence pile.

Missy Elliott is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

JAY-Z Explains Origin Of “Diamond” Hand Signal

JAY-Z recalled the origin of his iconic diamond hand sign during a recent interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings. Speaking with King while touring his Book Of HOV exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library, he explained that it has to do with his albums being certified diamond. JAY has flashed the hand sign countless times over the course of his career, including on the cover of his 2000 album The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.

“When we first started, we had a group called Christion,” JAY-Z explained. “When you sell 10 million, you go diamond, right? We believed in them so heavy, we was like, this group is going to sell 10 million records. So, we started putting the diamond up for Christion. That’s how it all came about. And then we started playing with it, and then we started doing it at shows. Then the whole crowd started doing it, and it stuck.”

Elsewhere in the interview, JAY discussed his iconic performance at Glastonbury in 2008, when the event was still a rock festival. Chirs Martin from Coldplay convinced him to go through with the set. “At one point, I was like, ‘Why am I going there?’” JAY-Z recalled. “If they don’t want me there, I don’t want to go. And Chris from Coldplay was instrumental on [convincing me to play]. He was like, ‘Jay, they love you. It’s just the old guard, they don’t know. It’s always been a rock festival.’ They didn’t have anything against me personally. It was just like, this is a rock festival, this is what it is. The world was changing.” Check out JAY’s interview with King below.

JAY-Z Speaks On Being First Rapper In Songwriter Hall Of Fame

During his recent interview with Gayle King, JAY-Z reflected on both the positive and negative aspects of being the first rapper to be enshrined in the Songwriter Hall of Fame. “For a while, they would just dismiss rap as this fad or this noise [with] people just screaming over beats. Not that we needed the validation, but it was like we want the validation ’cause we deserve it,” he explained. Hov was elected to the Hall back in 2017. He has since been joined by Jermaine Dupri (2018), Missy Elliot (2019), Pharrell (2022), and Snoop (2023).

However, the Hall of Fame wasn’t the only thing that he and King talked about. Jigga also recalled how Chris Martin of Coldplay convinced him to headline Glastonbury in 2018. “At one point, I was like why am I going there. If they don’t want me there, I don’t want to go. And Chris from Coldplay was instrumental on [convincing me to play]. He was like, ‘Jay, they love you. It’s just the old guard, they don’t know. It’s always been a rock festival.’ They didn’t have anything against me personally, it was just like, this is a rock festival, this is what it is. The world was changing,” he recalled. JAY-Z’s inclusion in the 2018 lineup garnered a lot of backlash from the more traditional Glastonbury crowd of rock musicians. In one notable example, Hov learned to play Oasis’ “Wonderwall” on the guitar and played it for the crowd after Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher was especially vocal in his opposition.

JAY-Z Surprises Fans With His Pick For His Most Important Album

Hov has been doing a lot of interviews recently, which has led to a lot of surprising revelations. For example, JAY-Z recently revealed that he believes his most important to album to be Vol 2…Hard Knock Life. “This is the album that’s the most important album because it was the album where I honed my craft as a songwriter and that balance of creating exactly what I want. And just as a writer, a technical song-maker. Song-making skills with real stories is when it all came together on this album,” he explained.

Elsewhere, he also explained what it would take for him to make new music. “I’ll say I wanna make music, but it has to be something important. I don’t wanna just make a bunch of tunes. That’s not gonna serve me. It won’t feed me, first of all. I have to be saying something important. It has to mean something, you know? It has to mean something to a larger society,” he explained.
