Over the past few years, we’ve seen the pair go their separate ways on more than one occasion, though fate seems to constantly pull them back together. In the past, the social media starlet has expressed interest in having a child with her rapper beau. However, in the latest episode of her #DinnerWithTheDon YouTube series, Fletcher made it abundantly clear that marriage is something she’s more reluctant about, mostly due to the potential of having to pay child support to Bagg’s baby mamas.

“I wanna get proposed to, I wanna have a wedding,” the mother of one explained to special guest Queen Naija and her other friends on-camera. “I want to be married, but without the paper,” Fletcher added before the R&B suggested that she get married in a spiritual ceremony. “God forbid, something’s going on, and you’ve got my money,” Moneybagg’s partner said while working away in the kitchen.

Moneybagg Yo Announces Another Album Coming This Year

As he announced his next mixtape Hard To Love: Heartless Edition, maybe some Moneybagg Yo fans missed an even bigger announcement. Not only is that project dropping on May 26, but he has another album on the way, as well. “When I looked at all the songs I had made during that period, it was wayyy too many to be considered one album,” he wrote in Hard To Love‘s reveal statement. “So that’s when I decided to drop a Tape and [an] Album.” While we still don’t know when that album will be coming this year, at least the hype is there.

Unfortunately, these new drops came after a heavy and hard time for the 31-year-old. “While I was wrapping up the album I was hit with a tragedy that will affect my kids and me forever,” Moneybagg Yo wrote in his statement. “Stack that on top of losing Nuskie my right hand man to the streets. Then my left hand man to the Feds, it was loss after loss in my eyes. While the rest of the world was still moving on, they still wanted shows, features, and music. Regardless of what I’m going through personally.”

While most regard areas such as Atlanta as the defining scope for rap in the Southeast corner of the United States, Memphis has been making plenty of noise. Furthermore, the city is known for pioneering a subgenre of hip-hop known as “crunk.” Rising from the gutter of Memphis, Moneybagg Yo went from frequently not affording electricity to one of the city’s leading spokespersons. Recently announced a new album, Hard to Love, 2023 is a big year for Moneybagg Yo.

Moneybagg Yo started in 2012, releasing a slew of mixtapes. Like many upcoming rappers, he stayed consistent with the hopes that he’d be noticed by a bigger name. That big break would come when he signed to Yo Gotti’s record label, Collective Music Group, in 2017. However, Moneybagg Yo saw moderate success before the deal with Federal Reloaded and ELO: Everybody Lives On. Artists such as Future later revealed that they had been long-time fans of his sound.

In 2021 he shared his critically acclaimed album, A Gangsta’s Pain. which was the fourth highest selling rap album of 2021.  The album was listed “Best Albums of 2021” by The New York Times, Billboard, Complex, XXL, Uproxx, and more. In addition to his album going No. 1 he also topped the radio chartsfourtimes consecutively with “Said Sum,” “Time Today,” “Wockesha,” and “Scorpio.”

Today, he not only revealed the tape’s impending release date but also the fact that he plans to drop another project later this year. In a post on Instagram, he shared an open letter to fans explaining the inspiration behind Hard To Love, which continues his Heartless mixtape series.

“I gained and lost more than I ever thought I would and had no other safe outlet for all the emotions and dark thoughts that came wit that other than making music,” he wrote. “I’m blessed to have an art form to express myself inside & out with you all.
