On Tuesday, Dec. 12, Megan Thee Stallion’s partnership with Warner Music Group was unveiled, as the distribution deal comes after the “Realer” rapper’s highly-publicized legal battle with former record label,1501 Entertainment.
With the collaboration between Meg and Warner Music Group, she can now distribute her music on a larger scale while retaining ownership over her creative work. This deal allows her to leverage the resources and expertise of a major label without compromising her artistic integrity.
According to Billboard, the Houston native’s team will include select individuals from 300 Entertainment and other professionals within Warner Music Group.
Megan Thee Stallion has been vocal about the importance of independence and ownership, as she expressed with her latest project, “Cobra,” where she stated:

Nonetheless, a significant revelation came during a live session on Lil Ju’s Instagram, a prominent producer known for his collaborations with the “Savage” rapper. Megan dropped a bombshell by revealing that she is an independent artist. Speaking directly to her fans, the rapper declared:
“This part of my album is definitely very much funded by Megan Thee Stallion…I have no label right now, and we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. I’m so excited to be doing something for the first time independent since it was just me and my momma.. So excited cause it’s just really me this go round until we sign to a new label, but I don’t want to sign to a new label right now, I just want to do it myself.”

It’s important to note that Megan Thee Stallion has had a turbulent history with her previous record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.
Megan accused the label of trying to block her from releasing new music, leading to a legal battle. The rapper also exposed mismanagement of funds and lack of proper compensation from 1501, ultimately resulting in her filing and winning a restraining order against the label’s executives.
Furthermore, in 2019, the “Realer” rapper was in partnership with JAY-Z‘sRoc Nation through a management deal, and despite this affiliation, she remained under 1501’s record label.

Moreover, both have their own accusations when it comes to why their relationship ended, who’s to blame, and what they did wrong. Most recently, the Houston femcee responded to Pardi’s explanations on social media, trying to stay positive and questioning why he’s calling her out if what she said about him is untrue. Now, during a new Instagram Live session, the New York rapper admitted to cheating on Meg, but also suggested that there’s a lot of hypocrisy at play. “But I have no problem taking accountability,” Pardison Fontaine admitted. “Yeah, that’s what it is, yeah. Let’s talk about what the definition is, yeah, I did that. Find me an interview where I say ‘No.’ Not once. But I just don’t appreciate people throwing rocks and hiding their hand. I was chilling, I was cooling, nobody asked me nothing– nobody asked nobody nothing, in fact. And throwing rocks and hiding your hand is just not good behavior, you know what I’m saying? It’s not good, especially to people that have been good to you. Everything I needed to talk about, I talked about on the song. People wanna know why, they wanna know what happened.
“When you paint things in ways that they didn’t happen, you gotta clear it up,” he concluded. “You gotta f***ing clear it up. But with all that said, I wish happiness for everybody. I wish healing for everybody. It felt like I was well-along on my journey. I had put a lot behind me, I had ate a lot of s**t as a male, as a man, but I just ate it. You know what I’m saying? I felt like this was not one of those times where I was gonna let it slide: let somebody speak on me and let my story be told by somebody else. On Dec.13, Pardison Fontaine appeared on the well-known iHeart Radio show, The Breakfast Club, to definitively clarify matters following the release of his diss track, “Thee Person,” aimed at ex-girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion, and the drop of her latest single, “Cobra.”

With compelling honesty, Pardi discussed Megan’s alleged dishonesty, its toll on him, and the importance of honesty in a relationship. During the interview, Fontaine expressed how the Traumazine artist’s single, “Cobra,” and her previous statements affected people’s perception of him.
Referring to the lyrics in “Cobra,” saying, “Getting his d!ck sucked in the same spot I’m sleeping,” The songwriter/rapper stated:
“With that one line, a lot of people made people not want to interview me.This is prior to me saying anything. Like “aww no he’s this, he’s that.” Like yall known me for a long time. I’ve never been a bad person. I’ve never been painted in any type of narrative. One that hurt me personally. It tarnished my image and it tarnished me as a person.”
Honesty Is Everything
Pardi also emphasized the importance of honesty in a relationship, expressing his concern over Megan’s alleged lies about her past sexual involvement with certain people. He continued:
“I dont think its ever been an issue of whose she’s been with, or any partner. But I think something to be judged is honesty in a relationship. I think that’s something to be judged. If I ask a specific question and you choose to tell the opposite of the truth, it becomes a lie. That is what I have a problem with.”
When asked if he had addressed the issue with Megan before it became public knowledge, Pardi confirmed that he had indeed confronted the Houston native about it. DJ Envy highlighted the seriousness of their relationship by mentioning Pardi’s plan to buy a ring for Megan. Fontaine then responded with:
“Thank you. I’m glad you said that. When I see alot of comments, I get a lot of questions. I’m like “ did you listen to this? I spoke on this.I said this. I’ve never been one to address things or “this person” on the internet.”

Speaking of diss records and exes, Chrisean Rock recently aimed at fellow rapper and ex-boyfriend Blueface in “Baby Father Drama.” The song and its accompanying video offered a candid and unfiltered perspective on her experience as a single mother, addressing the Los Angeles rapper’s alleged neglect during her pregnancy.
It has been four months since Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in her feet but he and his defenders continue to put forth the idea that it wasn’t him. After a court document featuring a statement from Lanez’s bodyguard that he saw Megan’s friend Kelsey Harris holding a gun became public, gossip blogs and social media accounts almost immediately began running with the story, insinuating once again that Megan was either lying or mistaken about just who pulled the trigger.
I’ve seen Tory Lanez’s driver’s affidavit, which is part of a longer habeas petition. Clerk tells me it could take a week to fulfill my email request for it. Or, I can go up to LA and pay for a copy in person.
I may do that later, but hopefully the full filing lands in my inbox.
The affidavit I saw includes the driver saying he didn’t actually see who shot the gun, but that he saw Kelsey with a gun in her hand.

However, Thee Stallion herself remained adamant in the face of the renewed attacks from Lanez’s supporters (or Megan haters), questioning some of the commenters’ adherence to so-called “street code” in an Instagram Live stream. “Imagine y’all sayin’ somebody is following the street code, not snitching,” she said. “Y’all trying to pretend like Kelsey shot me. Kelsey didn’t shoot me… Her main problem with me was, ‘You won’t tell people I didn’t shoot you!’ I was like, ‘Kelsey, I don’t wanna talk about this on social media at all.’ But now you won’t even get online and defend yourself. So that really just proves my point: Either you took some money or your life is in danger!”
She also addressed Tory directly in the stream, saying, “If you say you didn’t shoot me, why wouldn’t you get on the stand and say, ‘I didn’t shoot this bitch?’ You say it online every day. You figure out how to get your n****s to say you didn’t do it, you figure out how to get the blogs to say you didn’t do it, but the one motherf*cker it would have mattered from was you. You should have said, ‘I didn’t do it. Kelsey did it.’ Kelsey, if you didn’t do it, why won’t you say, ‘I didn’t do it?’”
“I know who shot me,” she continued. “I said who shot me and that’s why you’re in jail…. You’re dragging online like there’s no evidence, there’s no new evidence… It’s 2024, y’all still f*cking with me!”

It does seem a lot like someone doesn’t want to move on — and it isn’t Megan Thee Stallion (to be fair, the US prison system sucks, and nobody wants to spend 10 years inside, but at this point, an apology and request for leniency would probably be better strategies than whatever this is).

However, he’s still not done talking about his ex quite yet. He recently joined Angela Yee on her Lip Service podcast, during which she candidly asked him about the cheating allegations, and he gave an interesting answer.
“That’s not what happened,” Pardi said when Yee and her co-hosts brought it up. After asking them what constitutes as cheating, the women came up with a definition of anything being intentionally kept from a partner. After hearing that, the “Backin’ It Up” collaborator said that he’s guilty of Thee Stallion’s accusations. Still, he denying being caught in her bed while in the middle of getting oral sex from another woman.

Nicki Minaj is someone who the fans are always clamoring for. Overall, she is one of the most successful women rappers of all-time and she continues to elevate. For years, fans have been waiting for her next project. On Friday, she gave them what they wanted as she dropped Pink Friday 2. Of course, this is a follow-up to her debut of the same name. Although it was going to be a tough task to truly recreate the success of the original, Nicki seemed up to the task.
Sonically, there is a lot of variety on this album. Furthermore, there are quite a few bars that are now being dissected by fans. For instance, on the song “FTCU,” there is a not-so-subtle shot at Megan Thee Stallion. While the two used to be cool, it does not seem that way anymore. In fact, Nicki even decided to poke the bear and make fun of the Tory Lanez situation. “Stay in your Tory lane, bitch, I’m not Iggy,” she says on the track. It is a pretty obvious reference and you can’t help but wonder how Meg will take it.
Moreover, fans already know that her and Latto are not on good terms these days. They keep throwing shots at one another, and that did not stop on this latest project, or so it seems. On the song “Fallin 4 U,” Nicki takes arguably much subtler shots at Latto than she did Meg. “Picture you endin’ up under the seat, where the dread at?/ Picture not listenin’ when I said you would dread that/ I mean locs, ho, you-you’s a chop ho/ I’m number one, y’all go argue over top four/ Clean, sweep, you gettin’ mopped, ho,” she spits on the song.
