J. Cole & Lil Durk Perform “All My Life” Live For The First Time

It’s been odd to think about the fact that one of the year’s biggest hits so far hasn’t been performed by both its artists on the same stage. After all, isn’t that a surefire way to get a crowd excited and energized, especially at a music festival? Well, that’s what Lil Durk realized for his Friday (September 22) set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. As the Billboard mainstay “All My Life” started to play, J. Cole emerged to thousands of fans excitedly cheering for his surprise appearance. The two rappers embraced for a moment, went close to the crowd, and got them bouncing for the chorus drop.

Furthermore, it’s great to see that Cole and The Voice were able to make this happen, even a while after its release. The two spoke very fondly of their respect for each other before and after their collaboration came to light. It proved to be a major standout on Lil Durk’s album Almost Healed, with both MCs operating at top form over one of the project’s most notable instrumentals. Compared to the Chicago drill artist’s other work, it’s emblematic of how tender, honest, and emotive that LP can be.

J. Cole Pops Out During Lil Durk’s Set To Finally Perform “All My Life” Together

Here’s what Lil Durk most recently had to say about the collab in an Apple Music interview. “Shout out to J. Cole,” the “Pelle Coat” hitmaker began. “Even just to have that type of music out, just on a positive level, feels super, super good. I think that the J. Cole feature was definitely unexpected for my fans. He went super cr*zy. And it’s so cr*zy, because we’ve been talking for two years. He always be like, ‘Send me a record,’ and I’m like, ‘I got to find the right record.’

“And I’m glad I waited two years, because in my eyes he’s a legend,” he continued. “So if you have a chance to do a song with legend, do you send him something just to send it, just to say you got one, or you’re going to make it stick? So that’s why I never just sent him a record, because I want something that’s going to stick. As soon as I did the record, he was the first person that popped into my head. I’m like, ‘I got it.’” For more news and the latest updates on Lil Durk and J. Cole, come back to HNHH.

Lil Wayne Speaks On VMAs Performance For Hip-Hop’s 50th, Says He Was “Nervous”

Lil Wayne recently rocked the stage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards; in fact, he graced fans with two separate performances. One was a medley of one of his biggest contemporary hits, “Uproar,” and his new single “Kat Food.” However, the other saw the New Orleans MC join LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Nicki Minaj, and more legends of the game to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. Not only was it a special moment for him, but one that also proves that, no matter how deep you are into your career, you can still get stage jitters. During his appearance on Undisputed with good friend Skip Bayless, Weezy recalled the experience.

“We did catch you the other night on the VMAs. You lit it up. How did it feel to you? You were among legends, but you are the legend of legends. What did it feel like on stage?” Skip Bayless asked. “Nervous as usual,” Lil Wayne answered. “Same way I feel as always, nervous. Had to open it up, so I just wanted to make sure I ain’t mess up. Hit every beat, make sure I was on point. Yeah, that’s what I was worried about.

Lil Wayne’s Nerves Didn’t Hamper His VMAs Performance

“Oh, yeah, I heard about that,” Lil Wayne said with a laugh when Bayless asked about Taylor Swift loving his performance of “Walk This Way” from the front row. “Just to be up there with those legends, I was like ‘What?’ Literally, Skip, as I’m up there and I could hear myself singing ‘Walk This Way’ that was unbelievable. To hear myself singing, and knowing who I’m up there with. No one else was singing the ‘Walk This Way’ part. No one else was singing it. When I heard it was just me, I was like ‘Yeah.’ I owned it, yeah.”

Meanwhile, Tunechi also made sure to keep feeding fans alongside his big shows, even if it was through a feature. He recently treated Nas and Hit-Boy’s sixth collaborative album in three years, Magic 3, to a feature verse on the track “Never Die.” All in all, there seem to be more reasons than ever to celebrate the Young Money mogul these days- and that’s never a bad thing. Metro Boomin Performs At VMAs, Teases Future Project, And Pays Tribute To His Mother

Metro Boomin is on an unprecedented winning streak right now. After taking over the backend of 2022 with the release of his incredible HEROES & VILLAINS tape, it seems like there is nothing that is going to get in the way of Metro’s dominance. He swung into the recording booth to produce the soundtrack for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film. Now, we have two of the most-anticipated releases maybe of the past five years, with his two collaboration projects. One of those is his project with Future, which has been teased relentlessly up until this point. We got more confirmation at the VMAs last night.

According to Fader, right before Future joined Metro Boomin on stage to perform their hit, “Superhero (Heroes & Villains),” the producer gave the crowd another update. “MTV VMA 2023 what we doin? Me and Pluto album on the way,” Metrooo shouted out to the crowd. He hovered about the stage behind the DJ booth, as the Atlanta trap rap superstar spit his verses. Then, right before the beat switch on “Superhero,” Future exited stage left so three other artists could take the stage.

Metro Boomin And More Perform “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” And “Calling” At VMAs: Watch

The hit song “Calling” from the Spider-Verse album was up next. Swae Lee, followed by NAV, and then A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, came together to put on a laid-back show for the fans. The phone flashlights were waving in the crowd as all three put in a nice performance. It was touching and low-key, but there was a reason both of these songs were chosen by Metro. Uproxx got word that he was paying tribute to his late mother, Leslie Wayne.

What are your initial thoughts on Metro Boomin’s performances of “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” and “Calling” at the 2023 MTV VMAs? Which song was put on better? Nicki Minaj Previews “Pink Friday 2” During VMAs Performance

Nicki Minaj performed an unreleased song from her upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, while on stage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night. Hosting the event, Minaj kicked things off with a stripped-down performance of her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You.” After the emotional affair, she dropped her black cloak to reveal a sheer bodysuit underneath and launched into the unreleased track.

“It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t give y’all a Pink Friday 2 exclusive,” she teased. The lights then shifted from soft pink to dark red as Minaj began rapping. “It’s a big difference between me and you,” she said on the braggadocious track. “I ain’t nothing like you, you, you or you.”

Cardi B And Megan Thee Stallion Go Tropical With Their Performance Of “Bongos” At The VMAs

The MTV VMAs always draw plenty of attention from viewers and last night, of course, a lot of big headlines are being talked about. Justin Timberlake and Megan Thee Stallion’s conversation is already a hot topic, as well as Taylor Swift racking up more awards for her trophy case. However, another storyline is Cardi B and Megan’s “Bongos” performance. This was the first time the electric duo had been able to show off the viral track to a live audience and it did not disappoint.

Firstly, Cardi B made her extravagant entrance on a lowering down from a platform on top of a bright crystal ball. The backdrop of the stage included some fitting palm trees, shirtless men playing the bongos, and background dancers donning blue and green dresses. Cardi and Megan also shared similar outfits creating a cohesive look. Megan did not show up on stage until her verse began and eventually the two reconnected in the middle of all of the fiery dancing.

SZA’s “SOS” Deluxe Coming This Fall With 7+ New Songs, Ice Spice & Saweetie Attend NYC Show

There was a lengthy span of time between the arrival of SZA’s debut album, Ctrl, and her sophomore effort, SOS. Nevertheless, the black-haired beauty ensured that the result was well worth the wait when it hit DSPs in late 2022. In the time since then, she’s mostly been busy touring her record-breaking LP and supporting other artists like Drake and Beyonce amid their ongoing cross-country ventures. On Friday (September 8), SZA took over the stage in New York City, where she had some seriously exciting surprises in store for her audience.

Perhaps the biggest news of the evening is the R&B songbird’s confirmation that her SOS will be receiving a deluxe edition before the year is up. While she didn’t provide an exact date, SZA did say that LANA will arrive sometime this fall. The 33-year-old also revealed that she’ll have 7-10 new songs for us, though it’s unclear if she plans to bring any guest features on board. The original cut of her last album found her connecting with Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and frequent collaborator (as well as rumoured lover) Travis Scott.

As TMZ reports, when the “Drew Barrymore” hitmaker found out that Spice was in the building, she was more than excited to bring her out on stage. The crowd obviously went wild for the redhead and even got to watch her snap a selfie with SZA.

50 Cent Rips Ja Rule For Depicting Himself As Jesus In Recent Performance

50 Cent and Ja Rule have been at war with one another for a very long time at this point. Overall, their beef started over 20 years ago, and it is still going very strong. However, it does feel one-sided for the most part. Fif loves going after Ja Rule online, especially on Instagram. He does so whenever he gets an opportunity, and unfortunately, Ja usually opens himself up to criticism. Not to mention, 50 has always prided himself on being an internet troll, which makes things that much worse.

Recently, Ja got to perform at the BMI R&b/Hip-Hop Awards. This was a big night got the award show as artists like Ice Spice and Lil Wayne received some big honors. As for Ja, he delivered a performance of his song “One of Us” which came out in the year 2000. The visuals for the performance were a bit over the top as he came out attached to a wooden column and tied up like Jesus. It was all pretty bizarre and 50 Cent did not waste any time coming through with an IG diss.

50 Cent Speaks

“Look at this shit head, is he supposed to be Jesus,” Fif asked. “WTF you can’t make this shit up. LOL so stupid!” Many of the commenters agreed with the legend, although some of them felt like he needs to let this beef go immediately. After all, it has been years since this beef was truly part of the mainstream consciousness. Either way, some fans remain entertained by this storyline, and Fif is taking full advantage of that.

Regardless of what Fif said, there is no doubt that the Ja Rule performance was meant to be provocative. That said, let us know how you felt about it, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed of the biggest stories from the biggest artists.

Diddy’s Appearance At The 2023 MTV VMAs Will Include A Special Award And Performance

Many of the year’s biggest award shows unfold in the spring and summer months. Still, just before fall comes, the MTV Video Music Awards are slated on the schedule. The 2023 ceremony is set to take place on September 12. Both Lil Wayne and Doja Cat have already been named as performers. They each just shared their “Kat Food” and “Demons” singles respectively, but we’re curious to see what songs they’ll bring to the stage later this month. In addition to that, Diddy was also confirmed as an act who will be taking the stage next week.

“IT’S OFFICIAL, the hip-hop legend @Diddy is your 2023 #VMA Global Icon Award Recipient!!!” the award show’s official Twitter account announced on Tuesday (September 5) morning. Along with that big news, they confirmed that the New York native will be putting on a rousing performance either before or after he’s given his flowers. “Tune in to @MTV on September 12 to see him accept the award AND perform,” their message concluded.

Diddy is Set to Receive His Flowers at the 2023 MTV VMAs

The latest tracks we’ve heard from Diddy have been two collaborations. There’s “Mandem” with Giggs, as well as “Act Bad” in tandem with the City Girls and Fabolous. It’s possible that either of those could be his performance piece of choice for the VMAs. We’re placing our bets on the latter as it was declared the Song of the Summer by some music lovers. Seeing as he’s confirmed to have new heat on the way soon, it’s possible that Sean Combs could use his big televised moment to debut something totally new too.

Just days after he makes his presence felt at the 2023 MTV VMAs, Diddy is expected to release his latest LP, The Love Album: Off the Grid. At the end of August, the Bad Boy confirmed a star-studded tracklist. It includes guest appearances from The Weeknd, Summer Walker, and many more. Read all about that at the link below, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Kendrick Lamar’s Microphone Gives Out During “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” Performance With Beyonce

Kendrick Lamar and Beyonce are both seasoned pros when it comes to the art of performing. They reminded us of just that during the latter’s birthday concert in Los Angeles on Monday (September 4) night. Throughout the weekend, Queen B took over the stage at SoFi Stadium with a seriously impressive roster of guest openers. Among them were Doechii, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz. For her final show in California, the mother of three brought Compton native Kendrick Lamar out to body their “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM (Remix),” though they were unfortunately met with some technical difficulties.

As XXL Mag reports, when it was the DAMN. hitmaker’s turn to rap his verse, his microphone appeared to cut out. Issues like this have been happening frequently for artists. Most recently we’ve been reporting on 50 Cent’s ongoing mic-throwing lawsuit. The synchronicity is likely due to the ongoing Mercury Retrograde, which is known to cause issues with communication. It’s unclear if Lamar wasn’t aware that his sound wasn’t coming through, or if he continued performing anyway to avoid ruining the moment. Still, the video below shows him hitting every word while Bey dances beside him.

Beyonce Entertains Her Audience Amid Kendrick Lamar’s Technical Difficulties

If the birthday girl took note of Lamar’s audio issues (which were resolved by the latter half of his verse), then she certainly did her part to keep us entertained. In her iconic bee costume, the “Halo” singer dropped it low and even slipped in some Vogueing moves. Overall it appears as though she had a memorable time celebrating her special day with friends and fans. The Grammy Award winner will be taking a few days to rest before she heads up north to Canada to take over BC Place on September 11.

Elsewhere in the world of Kung-Fu Kenny, he sat down with Tems for Interview Magazine to discuss some burning topics ahead of her album’s arrival. While the Nigerian starlet dished on some of her earliest musical inspirations, Kendrick Lamar got candid about some of the best wisdom he’s picked up from 50 Cent. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Chrisean Rock Brings Her Pregnant Energy To The Stage On “Crazy In Love”

Through the reality TV show “Crazy In Love,” audiences have seen Blueface and Chrisean Rock’s relationship evolve in both nasty and heartening ways. Given how volatile, outspoken, and blunt both personalities are, that duality took over the narrative in their history. However, a lot of people grew tired of the same old tropes and movements, pointing to the constant negativity as a reason to tune out. Drama filled up every corner of their interactions, whether between each other or expanding it to other figures in their lives. On the latest episode, though, fans at least got some more vibrant content to latch onto.

Moreover, Chrisean Rock hit the stage to perform her song “vibe” in Miami for a fight night in the new episode. In fact, the episode shows how she spoke to Blueface nervously before it was time to walk out and impress the crowd. Think what you will of the show and track themselves, but you can’t deny that the “Baddies” star brought a lot of energy with her vocals and attitude. What’s more is that she didn’t appear fazed or any less invigorated performing despite the baby bump that was on full display.

Chrisean Rock’s “Crazy In Love” Performance

Now, we know that the baby bump is no longer there, as Chrisean Rock welcomed her child with Blueface into the world on Sunday (September 3). That’s been another weird part of “Crazy In Love”: seeing Blue and Rock in one timeline while another develops in the current day. Regardless, we know that it hasn’t been an easy postpartum process for the Baltimore native, and it’s only been a little over 24 hours. Via Twitter, she shared that she doubled down on not inviting the California rapper to the hospital to be there for her birth.

“I simply ain’t invite him I went to my city to have my child,” she wrote. “None of you weird a** ppl ain’t finna be around my son. I’m all he got I’ma do everything I can to protect him from hate and jealousy or anything. His name is Chrisean and he will be loved n respected [100 emoji].” On that note, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chrisean Rock.
