Lil Yachty And Veeze Are Unapologetic About Their Lifestyles In The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ Video

Lil Yacthy has taken a hiatus from social media, but not from the booth. Today (August 16), two of the “Hate Me” rapper’s latest collaborations hit streaming platforms.

As an added bonus, Lil Yachty’s joint track with Veeze, “Sorry Not Sorry,” arrived with an official video presented by Lyrical Lemonade.

The moody visual — co-directed by AMD and Little Miles — has one purpose: to show both recording artists in their elements. As Veeze enjoys a double-cup drink, he lists off what he’s being able to accomplish with his fame.

“I done popped out, feelin’ like Odd Future, Tyler, the Creator my Luis / Them boys ain’t smoked like five opps, that’s a whole pack of loose-leaf / This eighth came straight from auntie / We pink slip boys, no car lease / My cup all pink like a Barbie / I’m sorry, not sorry like Beyoncé,” raps Veeze.

In his verse, Lil Yachty puts up what Veeze laid down in the record’s opening. “I got seven homes filled with clothes, Sauce on the way in this b*tch / I ain’t talkin’ ’bout no TV shows, but I still got Bear in this bitch / I had to figure it out the hard way, no, I don’t care, lil’ b*tch / I never talk sh*t online, but check it in real life, I’ll never struggle again / I done helped out my mans / I put my mom in a brand new Benz,” raps Yachty.

He makes it clear that he hears on the online chatter, but frankly he just doesn’t care.

It seems that every weekend Lil Yachty has a new single out and this time around it’s called “Sorry Not Sorry”. The track enlists the gravelly-voiced rapper from Detroit, Veeze. These two vastly different MCs are no strangers to each other. A lot of their past collaborations stem from the Georgia multi-hyphenate’s 2021 record, Michigan Boy Boat. That project saw Lil Boat try his hand at the Detroit rap style, all while working alongside plenty of names from the area. BabyTron, Sada Baby, Icewear Vezzo, Tee Grizzley, and of course, Veeze. They worked on two songs together, including “Fight Night Round 3” and the closer, “This That One”.

However, Veeze was not nearly as popular as he is now. 2023 was his breakout year, dropping Ganger and its subsequent deluxe four months after the original version. Now, after increasing popularity and trying out different sounds, these guys are reconvening on “Sorry Not Sorry”. Yachty has decided to release this in a three-pack format by including past singles such as his viral collab with ian, “Hate Me”, and “Lets Get On Dey A**”. Whether or not the Bad Cameo is working on another new project remains to be seen. For now, though, he is at least giving us this unapologetically braggadocious single. Lil Yachty and Veeze have officially released their latest song “Sorry Not Sorry” along with an accompanying music video. The new track follows last month’s release of Yachty and Ian’s “Hate Me,”  adding to Yachty’s collaborative hot streak.

Directed by AMD and Little Miles,, the “Sorry Not Sorry” music video shows the two trendsetter emcees going bar for bar under the spotlight of a pitch-black stage in their signature nonchalant swagger. Earlier this summer, Lil Yachty teamed up with James Blake to deliver their genre-defying collab album, Bad Cameo, along with a set of visualizers for “Save The Savior,” “Run Away From The Rabbit,” “Red Carpet,” and “Transport Me.”

Jean Dawson And Lil Yachty Details Their Ultimatums On The Gloomy Track ‘Die For Me’

If you can tour together, you can create together. Although their time on The Field Trip Tour has officially ended, Jean Dawson and Lil Yachty have seemingly maintained their bond.

Today (August 16), Jean Dawson dropped his latest single, “Die For Me” featuring Lil Yachty. On the gloomy record, produced by , the duo detailed their ultimatums for loved ones as Jean sings: “I bet somebody love me, no / After I’ve died, we’ll see / Don’t show up at my funeral / If you won’t die for me.”

Lil Yachty used his guest verse to flex his confidence and demand for unwavering loyalty in a partner.

“I gotta give out some vital information, this is a congregation / This is the conversation, a breathtaking persuasion / I think you are amazing, so good that n****s obsessed / I’ve been feeling sharp pains in my chest / As of now, I think I know what’s best / If you love me you’ll lay down and rest / To your family, I’ll explain it best / I just tell ’em I loved you to death,” raps Yachty.

Based on Jean Dawson’s latest post on X (formerly Twitter), “Die For Me” is a teaser for the entertainer’s forthcoming album, Glimmer Of God.

Why Fans Think Drake Will Reference “Top Gun” On His Upcoming Project

Drake has been throwing out lots of feelers. The rapper dropped three new songs as part of his “100 Gigs” release. It’s obvious that he’s got something else coming, though. The 6 God never goes very long without dropping a new project. The going theory among Drake fans is that whatever he has in store for his next album, it will contain a reference to the Top Gun character Iceman. Several people have noticed that Drizzy has been leaving clues relating to the film on his plot twist burner account.

There’s a couple reasons why the Iceman theory holds weight. For one, Drake has repeatedly posted pics of the Kimi Räikkönen on his aforementioned burner. Kimi Räikkönen is the most successful Finnish Formula One driver in history, and one of the most revered racers of his generation. His nickname? You guessed it: “Iceman.” Drake hammered home the Iceman obsession on August 14, when he posted an actual screenshot from Top Gun. No caption or additional context, just an extreme close up of actor Val KIlmer as Iceman.

Drake Keeps Posting Photos Of Iceman On Instagram

Drake has a track record of posting movie scenes on Instagram. He employed this tactic multiple times during the Kendrick Lamar battle. He posted a scene from the romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You as a means of clowning Lamar’s “Euphoria” diss. The rapper then dropped a scene from the Denzel Washington action film The Equalizer 2. In the scene, Washington’s character discovers that one of his friends has betrayed him. He then announces his plans to “kill each and every one” of his enemies. Not subtle, and unfortunately for Drake, not prophetic either. The point still stands: the boy loves his movies.

The concept of Iceman, a character known for being cool under pressure, is something Drake has been trying to emulate since the Lamar battle. The rapper’s frequent collaborator, Gordo, told People that the rapper has been “happy as sh*t” since the battle ended. Lil Yachty echoed the sentiment during a recent appearance on the Flagrant podcast. “I talked to him and that sh*t didn’t bother him,” Yachty explained to the hosts. “As it shouldn’t — he’s the f*king guy. If I had $700 million you couldn’t talk to me either.” If internet sleuths are right, than the 6 God will use Iceman to initiate a new era.

Joe Budden Went On Lil Yachty’s Podcast, Where They Plotted The Unlikeliest Collaboration

Seven years ago, if someone were to tell you that then-Everyday Struggle host Joe Budden would be collaborating with the self-declared “King of the Teens,” Lil Yachty, you would probably think they were trolling. But today, it seems that it may not be quite as far-fetched as when the two rappers were semi-regularly antagonizing each other over their different generational outlooks on hip-hop.

Since then, Yachty followed Budden into podcasting, adopting some of his grumpy old man opinions in the process, and today, Budden joined Yachty on his podcast, A Safe Space, where they joked about rapping on a song together. The whole thing started with Yachty asking Joe, “Do you think right now, if you and me go in [the studio], you could pen a better verse than me?”

In typical combative fashion, Budden shot back, “Who’s picking the beat?” “Obviously, not you!” Yachty razzed. This sparks a spirited debate about the two rappers’ respective taste in beats, with Budden clowning Yachty’s “Metroid beats” and Yachty offering up a folder of beats from one of underground hip-hop’s favorite producers, The Alchemist. Yachty’s co-host Mitch says the result would sound like “a hoop mixtape,” which… Yes. That’s the point, you infant.

Joe says he’d “do it for fun, because I’m retired,” and now, I am wildly curious. Who cares who has the best verse — do it for hip-hop.

Mr. Hotspot Hasn’t Cleared The Sample On Drake And Lil Yachty’s Unreleased Song, And He Explained Why

In late July, Kai Cenat played an unreleased Drake and Lil Yachty collaborative song during one his livestreams. Last week, Lil Yachty confirmed that it was an intentional leak because “we couldn’t get the sample cleared” while appearing on Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast.

Mr. Hotspot has a wholesome explanation as to why he hasn’t cleared the sample for Drake and Lil Yachty.

“We recorded him a clean reference, and we sent it into them,” Mr. Hotspot said on TikTok Live, as captured by Complex. “So, hopefully they re-record the clean reference, and we come out the clean, goodness gracious altogether. So, it’s a process, but it would for both of their brands like that. I’m blessed to work with children, so we just gotta make it clean for them.”

Mr. Hotspot continued, “We don’t need no children getting whooped ’cause they said this or that, you understand? If you look at the backside, it’s the children who really running these views up. So, if we make sure both verses [are] clean, everybody coming clean, everybody gonna benefit, for sure. It’s a process, but we appreciate you being patient. We sent it in. They got it today, and those boys about to turn up. We ain’t trying to hold them back from nothing, but we just need the morals correct. That’s all.”

According to Genius, the leaked “S.O.D. (Supersoak)” lyrics are not kid-friendly.

With Flagrant, Lil Yachty also confirmed that the song would not release in an official capacity and explained the complications of getting a sample cleared from Mr. Hotspot: “This wasn’t an artist; this was an Instagram, social media influencer. He went down, like, a Christian path.” When asked how much money was offered to Mr. Hotspot, Yachty said, “I don’t even think we got into money. He was like, ‘No.’”

Mike WiLL Made-It Links With Lil Yachty & Lil Wayne For Moody Single “high3r”

Mike WiLL Made-It took a step back from the game. He was one of the most essential producers of the 2010s, with a staggering resume of hits to his name. The 2020s, however, have been a different story. He has played more of a background role in the current decade, and he’s finally decided to return to the fold with new music. “high3r” is the first song credited solely to Mike WiLL Made-It since 2023, and it goes in a different direction than fans might expect. Instead of bringing Lil Yachty and Lil Wayne together on an upbeat banger, the producer opts for a chill, borderline ballad. Lil Yachty is the dominant musical force on “high3r.” The rapper applies his warbling croon to the chorus and his verse.

Mike WiLL Made-It is bringing it on the production end of things. The Georgia icon applies his stuttering hi hats to a melodramatic piano riff, and it works surprisingly well. “high3r” is never going to be mistaken for an S-tier Mike WiLL Made-It beat, but it’s still of high quality. Lil Wayne comes in on the second half of the song and keeps the crooning going strong. It’s been a while since fans have heard Weezy in “How to Love” mode. It goes about as well as you think. The most interesting aspect of his verse, is the odd reference to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Killer Mike Sticks Up For Lil Yachty In Controversial ATL Fashion Debate

Lil Yachty really set the internet on fire. The rapper made several public appearances during the last few days of July, each time making a statement that incited debate. He got pushback for defending Drake in the Kendrick Lamar battle. He was chastised for leaking a song he couldn’t get a sample cleared for. The most notable Yachty, controversy, though, stemmed from his comments about fashion. He claimed that Atlanta sets the fashion trends in hip-hop, which led to lots of criticism from rappers living in the rest of the country. One of the few rappers who seemingly agreed with Lil Boat was Killer Mike.

Killer Mike hopped on Twitter on August 1 to set the record straight. He referred to the Yachty debate as “lame,” but did provide examples of Atlanta setting trends. He pointed to his Dungeon family mentor, Big Boi, in particular. “I have Zero Interest in this lame ass debate,” he wrote. “BUT Big Boi Started the Throw Back Jersey Trend with that cold a*s Houston Astros Jersey.” He then noted that Ye, despite his Chitown roots, gave proper credit to the Outkast rapper. Ye’s impact on hip-hop fashion goes without saying, but Killer Mike said it regardless. “Kanye (Atlanta Born) set the record straight on that, God Bless Him,” he wrote. “Honorable Mention the ‘Flip Flop’s and Sox’ look was Some sh*t from the Dungeon Family.”

Killer Mike Claims ATL Has Influenced All Pop Culture

Mike included a photo of Big Boi rocking the aforementioned Astros jersey as proof. A Twitter user went the opposite direction and claimed that Phife Dog actually started the throwback jersey trend. Killer Mike respectfully disagreed. “[Phife] was a sports fan and inspired us all,” he wrote back. “With that said, the Throw back Era is Something Big Boi who is also like us a Tribe Fan Started in 98 with that Black Ice Vid Houston Jersey. Long Live Tribe and Kast.” The rapper continued to go back and forth with fans about the specificity of throwbacks, and the relevance of sports merchandise within the genre.

Killer Mike and Lil Yachty are about as far apart as artists can be. That said, the former has also repped Atlanta in his music and art. During a 2023 appearance on the Hip-Hop Made podcast, Mike claimed that the ATL has influenced every element of popular culture for decades. “When they say Atlanta influences everything it’s true,” he declared. “If you’re talking about Black culture in America, you talking about ATL, Georgia, and I’m not just talking about the last 25 years… I don’t think you can talk any Black culture — Rock n’ Roll, Blues, and Gospel — without talking about Atlanta.” Yachty may have ditched the internet due to the East Coast backlash, but he’d be pleased to know Killer Mike is in his corner.
