Lil Uzi Vert Bodyguard Arrested For Impersonating Law Enforcement, Gun Possession: Report
The man responsible for keeping Lil Uzi Vert safe has found himself in trouble with the law for allegedly impersonating law enforcement. Per New York Post, Kevin Nelson, the rapper’s bodyguard, was detained by NYPD on Monday. Police said they found him with an illegal semi-automatic firearm in his car but his attempt to get out of the arrest is what led to the outrageous charge. Authorities claim they pulled him over when he was in the passenger seat of a Ford F-1450 over a traffic stop. However, they claim he attempted to convince the officers that he was a cop.
It didn’t take long for the cops to realize that Nelson had no official affiliation with law enforcement. NYPD officials identified Nelson as a Philadelphia resident before hitting him with charges of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal impersonation. Fortunately, Lil Uzi Vert wasn’t in the car, nor did he face any arrests because of his security. However, the incident reportedly took place after his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he performed his hit record, “Just Wanna Rock.”
Lil Uzi Vert Plots On Pink Tape
While Nelson faces charges, Uzi’s recent performance on The Tonight Show indicates that his upcoming Pink Tape will arrive shortly. After dropping Red + White last summer, the rapper hinted at his follow-up to Eternal Atake. Though the project has been in the works for a few years, DJ Cannon revealed that Lil Uzi Vert recorded upwards of 700 songs within a year and a half. Cannon explained that they needed to sift through the vault to find the right songs for the tracklist.
Meanwhile, Uzi provided fans with a brief update at Rolling Loud. Knowing that he’s made many empty promises to his fans, he assured them that the body of work is near completion and should be out soon. “I do make y’all wait a long time for music and I’m so sorry. I thought that shit was cool before but that shit is lame,” he said during his performance. “I’m putting the final touches on Pink Tape and I promise — I made a lot of promises in my life, but this time I promise.”
Lil Uzi Vert Supports JT On Her Therapy Journey
As hard as it may seem to believe at times, most celebrities truly are just like us. In fact, many of those in the limelight who struggle with mental health issues to begin with find their conditions only exacerbated by the constant pressure that comes along with their career. While some opt to keep their problems to themselves, others often use social media to share life updates and be vulnerable with their fans, simultaneously encouraging them to do the same. JT of City Girls fame did just that on Twitter, sharing some details about how she plans to improve her mental health in the coming months.
“Super excited about starting therapy,” she wrote in a tweet last Saturday (March 25). “I encourage you all to do the same!” the “Twerkulator” hitmaker added, making it abundantly clear that there’s no shame in talking to someone about your feelings. While JT didn’t explicitly share what she wants to get off her chest in any upcoming appointments, her life before fame came with plenty of rough moments that are likely still weighing on her. Additionally, her newfound place in the spotlight beside Yung Miami certainly comes with its own downsides for the partners in rhyme.
JT Confirms Her Plans for Therapy
After the 30-year-old shared her excitement about beginning her therapy adventure, countless followers showered her with praise. “It’s literally necessary for everybody, [I don’t know] why people be acting like they don’t need it,” one user pointed out in JT’s replies. Another person chimed in, “I already do, for two years now. It’s life-changing [for real] sis. I pray your experience is as well.” Aside from the fan love, the rap diva also has a strong support system in the form of her long-term partner, Lil Uzi Vert.
The Philadelphia native spoke with TMZ earlier this week, at which time they asked their thoughts on JT seeking mental health help. Uzi sounds to be in full support of their girlfriend and even noted that they’ll be in attendance at some sessions to help out and perhaps work through issues of their own. As for anyone else considering therapy? The “Just Wana Rock” hitmaker thinks there’s no time like the present to work on yourself. “You just gotta do it,” he advised anyone watching. “You just have to really embrace yourself and love yourself.” Check out everything LUV had to say in the video below and tap back in later for more pop culture news updates.

Lil Uzi Vert On “The Tonight Show”: Watch Rapper Perform “Just Wanna Rock”
Lil Uzi Vert has been doing their part to keep listeners enticed lately, frequently hinting at an upcoming collaboration with Playboi Carti. Earlier this month, a version of their “Sauce Real Hard” single surfaced online, generating plenty of buzz for what else the duo may be cooking up. Aside from that, the Philly-born rapper was also announced as a part of Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival lineup, along with Lil Wayne and other famous friends.
More recently on LUV’s agenda, however, was last night’s (March 27) appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The eccentric artist didn’t sit down to converse with the host, though they did drop by to perform 2022’s “Just Wanna Rock,” which has quickly become a favourite from their discography. Surrounded by a crew of talented dancers, Lil Uzi brings out impressive moves of his own while letting out the track’s brief verses.
Lil Uzi Vert on The Tonight Show
“Hit it once, no ties, how the f*ck you gon’ kill my vibe? / Stand on my money, don’t know my size / Pick them sides, and you better choose wisely / That’s my high, one, two, three, four, throw up the five, that’s my high,” the fast-paced lyrics go. While there isn’t much to the words, the Jersey-club-inspired “Just Wanna Rock” beat had audiences in the studio and at home grooving along with the 27-year-old’s performance.
Earlier this year, ahead of the Super Bowl, DJ Drama sparked an interesting hip-hop debate by suggesting that Lil Uzi Vert’s single could replace Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares” as the Philadelphia Eagles’ unofficial anthem. While many understood what the Generation Now founder was getting at with his comments, even the rappers themselves argued that the latter song could never be topped. “I don’t think so,” the “Myron” artist responded at the time. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.” Check out a video of LUV’s performance on Fallon above, and tune in later for more hip-hop news updates.

Lil Uzi Vert Danced Through A Late-Night Performance Of ‘Just Wanna Rock’
Has Lil Uzi Vert‘s insistent Jersey Club-influenced hit “Just Wanna Rock” peaked yet? It seems doubtful, but it has reached the point in its arc when they’re performing it live for late-night audiences. I wonder what the average Tonight Show viewer thought when they turned on their televisions last night to be confronted by the image of the tatted-up, mohawked, piercing-dotted visage of the pint-sized Philly MC bobbing and bouncing across the screen with a small fleet of punk-garbed dancers. Probably something about millennials.
But hey, maybe they enjoyed it. After all, Uzi’s new hit has that unbridled, chaotic energy that makes it almost undeniably one of the most fun products of the post-pandemic era. Uzi barely raps on the song, letting the persistent kick drums do most of the heavy lifting, punctuated periodically by their piercing, filtered “Daaaaaaaaamns.” The whole song is like one extended dance breakdown; knowing this, Uzi brings the energy, doing as much movement as the backup dancers that crowd the stages during performances of the track.
So maybe “Just Wanna Rock” has as much of a chance to play as well for the older late-night demographic as it did for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice crowd. And if not, too bad. Something tells me that we’re going to be hearing this song for a long time.

It Looks Like Lil Uzi Vert And Playboi Carti Are Collaborating Again As They Plot A World Takeover
The two rappers are renowned for their collaborations but tracks featuring both Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti are few and far between. Most of their official collaborations took place shortly after both began garnering attention in earnest in 2016, with tracks like “Lookin,” “Wokeuplikethis,” and “Shoota” showing off their rambunctious chemistry, and a string of leaks online fueling fans’ hunger for more.
But they haven’t released that much music together over the years, especially after seemingly falling out after they failed to drop their highly anticipated rumored joint mixtape 16*29 and canceled the adjoining tour. That might change in the near future, though, as Uzi appeared to tease a new collaboration between the two rappers on Instagram. Posting a grainy closeup of what looks like a Renaissance painting, he tagged Carti and wrote, “Me and my luv about 2 take over the world.” Complex got a screenshot:
Fans worried that the two rappers might have some sort of disagreement after they spent much of 2020 trolling each other over their respective projects. However, in 2021, Carti brought out Uzi during his set at Rolling Loud in New York, proving that all is well and their trolling was likely all in good fun. With this announcement, fans have reason to be excited — although they’ll probably be a bit more skeptical now too, considering how many times these two have teased new projects that never materialized.
