Lil Durk Sets The Record Straight On His Divisive Album Tracklist

Lil Durk is dropping his next album Deep Thoughts on October 18, continuing a pretty prolific run for one of Chicago’s biggest hip-hop stars. However, some fans couldn’t help but express a little confusion despite their excitement. See, news spread around the Internet that Smurk’s next project would be Love Songs 4 The Streets 3, executive produced by Rod Wave and with a tracklist to boot. It listed features such as Rod himself, Future, Morgan Wallen, Lil Baby, Sabrina Carpenter, Kai Cenat, and iShowSpeed, which obviously raised some eyebrows. Well, The Voice has spoken, and it turns out that LS4TS3 was all cap.

“Fake a** track list,” Lil Durk simply tweeted on Friday (October 4), and it didn’t take long for fans to connect the dots. Despite this confusion (and many fans’ disappointment that we won’t hear these curious collabs with the likes of streamers), there’s still a lot on the horizon and on the docket right now to excite die-hards. For example, Durk recently made his acting debut in the series finale for Power Book II: Ghost, which might open up a Hollywood door for him even further. Some viewers clowned the appearance, while others like co-star LaToya Tonodeo thought that he did great.

Lil Durk Calls Out Fake Tracklist

I thought he killed it!” the actress told TMZ of Lil Durk’s turn on the TV show. “And I hope he keeps going with it. Like, you know, it’s the series finale… *sighs* it’s coming to an end. At least Power Book II: Ghost. But you know what they say, power never ends. So we shall see. […] I think [Lil Durk has a magical quality]. I think so, I mean, he was dope to work with. Super cool, super chill. Yeah, I hope he keeps it going. I hope [we’ll see a lot of him in the future in Hollywood]. I hope so. You’d have to ask him, but in my opinion, I hope so.”

What do you think? Do you want to see Lil Durk in more big-and-small-screen endeavors or do you agree with the trolling comments? Either way, he’s got a legit album coming very soon that should satisfy your hunger.

Lil Durk Praised By His “Power Book II: Ghost” Co-Star After Fans Tried To Clown Him

Lil Durk recently appeared in the series finale of Power Book II: Ghost as his acting debut, and while some fans clowned him, others cheer. One of those supporters is his co-star LeToya Tonodeo (who played Diana Tejada in the 50 Cent-produced television show), who recently spoke to TMZ about Durk’s chops. “I thought he killed it!” she shared. “And I hope he keeps going with it. Like, you know, it’s the series finale… *sighs* it’s coming to an end. At least Power Book II: Ghost.

“But you know what they say, power never ends,” LeToya Tonodeo continued. “So we shall see. […] I think [Lil Durk has a magical quality]. I think so, I mean, he was dope to work with. Super cool, super chill. Yeah, I hope he keeps it going. I hope [we’ll see a lot of him in the future in Hollywood]. I hope so. You’d have to ask him, but in my opinion, I hope so.” As such, we imagine that Smurk feels pretty amazing about his acting debut despite some fans’ jokes. Who knows whether he’ll be the next breakout drama star, an action hero, or a comedic hit?

Elsewhere in Lil Durk’s world, he recently announced his new album Deep Thoughts, but fans are already pretty busy with his next moves. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that he revealed the tracklist for another project, Love Songs 4 The Streets 3. The record has Rod Wave on as both a feature and executive producer, with other guests including Future, Lil Baby, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, iShowSpeed, and Kai Cenat. It sounds like quite the eclectic mix, but we’ll see how it follows up or maybe even previews Deep Thoughts.

Meanwhile, the “Monitoring Me” spitter has a lot of options ahead of him. He’s always been a prolific musical artist, so maybe venturing more into the worlds of film and TV could either inspire more measured material or result in a lot of quick drops. Lil Durk has these two projects seemingly ready to go (Deep Thoughts drops on October 18) and seems like he might be busier than ever with a growing entertainment profile. The future is bright. Lil Durk Gets Roasted For His Role In “Power Book II: Ghost” Series Finale

Lil Durk is going viral after his appearance in the series finale of Starz’s hit series Power Book II: Ghost. The Chicago rapper made his acting debut during the previous week’s episode, which was the ninth of the season. Social media users had some fun with stills from the latest episode, with a number of viral tweets stemming from jokes made at Durk’s expense.

“This is the stance of a man who don’t do the s**t he rap about,” one person wrote. “I spit my drink out when I seen dat man legs like dat [crying emojis],” said another. Another tweet blew up that took shots at the show and others like it. “You know that the show has reached an irreparable level of trash when they start tossing random rappers in the cast,” a third user said. Rappers making appearances on TV shows is not a new phenomenon, of course. Offset was on an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles in 2020. In 2023, Yung Miami of the City Girls made an appearance on Starz’s BMF, another 50 Cent-produced crime drama (like the shows in the Power universe). The disgraced mogul Diddy has multiple acting credits to his name, including episodes of CSI: Miami and the Hawaii Five-O reboot.

Lil Durk Gets Roasted For Appearance During Power Book II Series Finale

The jokes didn’t slow down Lil Durk’s album rollout. In fact, he referenced his Power Book II appearance in the caption to a post promoting his latest single. “We getting back for Monet @ midnight,” Durk wrote. “We dropping for the streets @ midnight, stay woke.” At midnight, he unveiled the cover art for his upcoming album Deep Thoughts, along with a new single. “Monitoring Me” is the name of the new track, which he dropped with an accompanying music video.

Earlier this week, a tracklist purporting to be the one for Lil Durk’s next release made its way online. However, its authenticity came into question when names like Sabrina Carpenter, Kai Cenat, and iShowSpeed were listed as features. As the alleged tracklist is only 12 songs (the upcoming Deep Thoughts is 20 songs, per Apple Music) and not under the same name as the one Durk announced (nor does it have the same album artwork), it is likely illegitimate. Deep Thoughts releases on October 18, though Durk announced that fans can pre-save the album beginning today.

Lil Durk Is Convinced Someone Is ‘Monitoring Me’ In His Paranoid New Video

Lil Durk has begun the rollout for his upcoming project, Love Songs 4 The Streets 3, in earnest with the video for “Monitoring Me.” In typical Durkio fashion, the Windy City rapper taunts his enemies for their lack of bonafides, while touting the work that his own crew has put in on the streets of Chicago. As he once promised, though, he keeps the details on the low, convinced that there’s a possibility that, well, someone is listening.

Durk’s a year removed from his introspective and motivational Almost Healed, on which he boasts the benefits of going to therapy and getting clean. However, when it comes to giving the fans what they want, he has no qualms about going back to the “Old Days” and reminding listeners that he really comes from some dark circumstances — and somehow, he makes those harrowing tales just as entertaining as they are tragic.

While he hasn’t put out a wealth of new music since Almost Healed, Durk has made himself visible in the run-up to the release of Love Songs 4 The Streets 3, appearing on “Ghetto” from Mustard’s new album along with Young Thug, as well as tag-teaming with fellow Chicago rapper Polo G on “We Uh Shoot.”

Lil Durk Gives Fans An Epic Trap Banger With “Monitoring Me” Single

Lil Durk has been moving differently as of late. He’s already one of the biggest rappers in the world, but the rollout for his new album suggests that he’s getting even better. “Turn Up a Notch” was a sweltering leadoff single, with the rapper’s customary style in tow. We got a tracklist that suggests he’s branching out to different genres. He’s got collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Morgan Wallen planned, for example. Some fans might’ve been worried that he would go too mainstream, which is what makes the release of “Monitoring Me” such a brilliant chess move.

“Monitoring Me” is one of Lil Durk’s hardest songs to date. The rapper sounds merciless in a song that packs an album worth of ferocity in two and a half minutes. Lil Durk has always showcased intensity on the mic. This new single, however, gives him an instrumental that amplifies his vocal timbre. The beat is simple in the best possible way. Tinkling keys underpin Lil Durk’s verses, while the chorus is interspersed with ominous piano stabs. The song manages the rare feat of being instantly catchy but decidedly gritty. Durk is so good at making trap anthems that he doesn’t even need to worry about putting a commercial spin on it. “Monitoring Me” is that good.

Kai Cenat Announces Streaming Return And Vows To Break Twitch Record

Kai Cenat is one of the biggest streamers in the world. He’s especially big in the world of hip hop. Before he announced his plans to retire in September, he was regularly debuting singles from megastars on his streams. He was even mentioned by Drake on the song “Push Ups.” Cenat claimed that he was giving it all up, though, to pursue a basketball career. The streamer stated that he wanted to be a legit prospect, and tweeted his plans to dedicate himself to the sport. Then, on October 2, he changed his mind.

Kai Cenat announced his retirement from the Little Ballers League he helped start on Wednesday. In the same breath, he revealed his plans to become a streamer again. “I think I’m gonna have to go back to streaming when I retire,” he said to uproarious applause. “I’m going back to streaming. I got a new goal I gotta get.” When the sideline reporter asked Cenat about this goal, he made it clear that he’s shooting for the top. He plans to get back to work in an attempt break the all time subscriber count on Twitch.

Kai Cenat Wants To Reclaim The Top Spot On Twitch

Kai Cenat’s decision is probably a smart one. Lil Yachty attended one of the games the streamer put on for his Little Ballers League, and basically said as much. “That took a lot of courage,” Boat said. “[But] he should come out of retirement… cuse this ain’t a promising career.” The rapper went on to clown Cenat’s playing ability and praise his knack for coming up with entertaining content. “I think he is so innovative,” Lil Yachty explained. “As far as like content creating. You can say what you want.” Kai Cenat’s profile has continued to rise in the past couple years, to the extent that he’s being featured on albums by platinum selling artists. He’s slated to appear, alongside Speed, on the upcoming Lil Durk song “War Scars.”

As far Kai Cenat’s goal, he isn’t far off from achieving it. The streamer has the fourth-most subs on the entire Twitch platform. He had the most at one point, but he was subsequently usurped. He talked about the pressure, and the challenge, of maintaining the number one spot during a 2023 profile with Complex. “It feels good, but I feel like I still have a lot of work to get done,” Cenat stated. “I can’t get comfortable.” At the end of the day, of course, the streamer’s ability to entertain people (and his celebrity friends) are going to be what get him to the finish line. “As long as I’m able to entertain people and make them happy, that’s the best thing ever,” he asserted.

Lil Durk Reveals Mind-Boggling Feature List For “Love Songs 4 The Streets 3”

Lil Durk continues to prove himself to be one of the most in-demand rappers in the world. He’s dropped hit singles, won Grammy Awards, and now he’s prepping for the release of his new album, Love Songs 4 the Streets 3. Durk has not only released the tracklist for the album, but the list of features as well. And we’ll be honest with you. The rapper might have the most eclectic and star-studded list of collabs of any rapper in 2024. Truly, Love Songs 4 the Streets 3 is going to be an incredible snapshot of this year in pop culture.

Let’s start with the most surprising features. Lil Durk has always linked up with other notable rappers. But nobody could have predicted that he would land a Sabrina Carpenter feature. Carpenter has been one of the breakout stars of 2024, if not the breakout star. It’ll be fascinating to hear how they sound together. The other names that are surprising to see on Lil Durk’s tracklist aren’t even rappers! iShowSpeed and Kai Cenat are two of the biggest streamers in the world. Yet, they will appear on the song “War Scars” together. We really have no clue what to expect there.

Lil Durk Seemingly Cut His Drake Collaboration

Where do you go after pop stars and streamers? Country, of course. Lil Durk is going to drip into another genre bag thanks to his Morgan Wallen collab “Come Home.” Rod Wave is also featured on what’s bound to be one of the biggest stylistic switch-ups of Durk’s entire career. Lil Baby and Future are slated to be on the songs “Sing this Song” and “Anti Hero,” respectively. Though their inclusion makes way more sense given the style Durk usually works in. The biggest question, though, revolves around the 6 God. Drake was supposed to be on the song “Discontinuing Wockhardt,” but it looks like he was cut from the album version. Since the other features are listed, it’s safe to assume Drake isn’t merely being hidden for dramatic effect.

Love Songs 4 the Streets 3 tracklist:

  1. Turn Up a Notch
  2. Timeless Love (featuring Sabrina Carpenter)
  3. Went Hollywood for a Year
  4. Truly Blessed
  5. War Scars (featuring iShowSpeed & Kai Cenat)
  6. Lose Control
  7. Come Home (featuring Rod Wave & Morgan Wallen)
  8. Anti Hero (featuring Future)
  9. Discontinuing Wockhardt
  10. That’s My Dawg
  11. Old Days
  12. Sing This Song (featuring Lil Baby)

Lil Durk Releases New Single and Video “Turn Up A Notch”

Back to kickstart another winning season, Grammy-winning, chart-topping hip-hop superstar Lil Durk serves up a brand-new single + video, “Turn Up A Notch”out now via Alamo Records

Over a skittering hi-hat and 808-driven beat, “Turn Up A Notch” finds Durk in the fast lane again, deftly alternating the pace of his instantly recognizable, melodic flow. Between reflective rhymes chronicling his early struggles and rise to greatness, he boldly proclaims “I had to turn up a notch.” Directed by frequent collaborator Jerry Production, the grainy, reportage-style visual depicts a day in the life of Lil Durk. High-profile friends such as Sexyy Red and HUNXHO make cameos as Lil Durk invites fans into his world.

Having celebrated his first Grammy Award in February of this year, taking home “Best Melodic Rap Performance” for his double-platinum smash “All My Life” feat. J. Cole, Durk has remained in the spotlight. His recent appearance on stage with Sexxy Red at her sold-out show in St. Louis made headlines, as did his collaboration with STARRY®, offering $333,000 in scholarships and prizes for four HBCUs. Covering the brand initiative, Forbes declared “When it comes to influential voices in the realm of hip-hop, it’s hard to deny Lil Durk’s impact.”

Lil Durk Treats Fans To Hypnotic New Single “Turn Up A Notch”

Lil Durk was supposed to drop “Turn Up a Notch” on September 20. The release date came and went with no new material, though. It’s unclear what led to the delay, but the anticipated single is finally here. Lil Durk dropped “Turn Up a Notch” on September 25, and it was well worth the wait. The rapper gives fans a laid back track that goes down smooth despite its grim subject matter. The chorus of the song is going to be what sticks with most listeners. That said, the verses are deceptively potent. Durk reflects on the various struggles he’s dealt with throughout his life.

On the flip side, Lil Durk gives fan glimpses of the successes that have kept him going. It’s all mixed in a hypnotic blend. “Seen my uncle actually reactin’ off coke,” Durk raps. “Won a Grammy, send my picture to bro. Breezy, Wicked and Chucky my woe. Them not the n**gas you send to the store.” The beat is an ideal match to Durk’s dreary, wistful bars. It’s propulsive and slick, but it has a sadness to it. This forlorn quality mostly comes through on the guitar that loops throughout. Love Songs 4 the Streets 3 is set to be Lil Durk’s next album, and if this single is any indicator, it’s going to be excellent.

Lil Durk is joining some exclusive company this week, as he’s going to be the third rapper to appear in Power. The Wu-Tang band mate was in Power Book II: Ghost, while Joey popped up throughout Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The Chicago drill artist will be lending his on-screen talents to Book II and his TV debut is coming sooner than later.

According to AllHipHop, Durk’s first appearance will be on Thursday’s episode, but sadly, some people online were spoiling the fun.
