Kodak Black Says He Never Used Cocaine but Cops to Meth and Percs: ‘I Ain’t No Junkie’

Kodak Black's "Super Gremlin" Tops RapCaviar's Most Streamed Song List for First Half of 2022

Last week, Kodak Black was arrested in Broward County, Florida on alleged cocaine possession. With fan concern for the rapper already high, Black hit Instagram Live to provide details to the incident.

“I was on lean, asleep in front of my family house, that’s it,” Black said.

In the same Instagram Live, Black admitted to using methamphetamine and Percocets. In response to cocaine he said, “I ain’t no baser. I ain’t no junkie.”

How Many Kids Does Kodak Black Have? Rapper’s Next Baby Boy Arriving In 2024

Kodak Black was lucky enough to earn a pardon from President Donald Trump in 2018. However, that hasn’t been enough to stop the Back For Everything artist from landing in the slammer again. Yak’s most recent arrest came earlier this week, when police allege they caught him swallowing a bag of cocaine. According to the rapper, no bodycam footage shows evidence of that, and he maintains that he was using other substances at the time, but not those specifically stated in the police report.

On Instagram Live, Black addressed many of his fans’ questions about the situation, while also sharing some exciting news. “They said you need a wife, boy, I got one! Me and my fiancee are having a baby boy in two months,” the 26-year-old excitedly told viewers ahead of the holiday season. He’s already a father of three other children – one boy and two girls and seems eager to create generational wealth for all of them.

Kodak Black is Expanding His Family

“That s**t [wild]. I’m like tryna get my quota too, b**ch. The f**k?” he added after, seemingly returning back to rumours of his drug use. Elsewhere during his first IG Live session since being arrested again, Kodak made it abundantly clear that he’s not here for being called a “junkie” by online critics. According to the Floridian, he was only on lean at the time of his arrest, asleep in front of his family home. No matter what police are saying, he totally denies having anything to do with cocaine.

“If that s**t was… I don’t think I’d even be able to speak to y’all right now. Wouldn’t even be on land right now,” the embattled star continued to rant, sounding kind of confused. “First off, a ni**a would’ve died, or been dead by now,” he said with a laugh. Kodak Black Drug Arrest: Floridian Confirms Lean Use, Resents “Junkie” Allegations

Kodak Black has never claimed to be perfect, but the “Love & War” rapper’s erratic behaviour in recent years is beginning to cause serious concern among his fans. Just days after unleashing the experimental visuals for his “2’CY” track, Yak was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. He’s obviously no stranger to trouble with the law, but when the police’s incident report revealed that he allegedly attempted to swallow a mouthful of cocaine, hip-hop heads couldn’t help but raise their eyebrows. Thankfully, Black has a skilled lawyer who helped him bond out and plead not guilty to the charges brought against him.

In his first Instagram Live stream since the news broke, the East Coast native addressed rumours circulating about him – particularly unflattering ones about being a “junkie.” He told viewers, “I was on the lean. I was asleep in front of my family house. That’s it. That ain’t illegal.” Still, Black knows he has to go through the motions of the legal process to prove his innocence. He didn’t have an explanation as to where the white power cops found on his person came from, but the 26-year-old was adamant that it’s not something he uses.

Kodak Black Speaks Out Following Latest Charges

“To be talking about cocaine? Hell no. F**k no. Bogus as f**k,” Kodak said. Besides his lean use, the embattled star also spoke about his experience popping Percs. “That was my medicine prescribed to me,” he shared before discussing the $350K he spent on rehab to “get clean and get better” while he was “damn near abusing” the emotion-stifling pills.

After bonding out of jail a few days ago, one of the first tasks on Kodak Black’s to-do list was supporting Kanye West at his Vultures listening event in Miami. Others in attendance included Lil Baby, Freddie Gibbs, Chris Brown, and even Ye’s 10-year-old daughter, North. Kodak Black Caught Swallowing Cocaine During Recent Arrest

Kodak Black

As new details emerge from his recent arrest, Kodak Black found himself in hot water. The Florida rapper was reportedly caught with a mouthful of cocaine.

New Details Emerge

The 26-year-old rapper was apprehended on Thursday, Dec. 7, when police discovered him sleeping inside his black 2019 Bentley SUV, blocking part of the road.

The arrest of Kodak took place as the officer noticed a strong smell of burnt weed coming from the rapper’s vehicle. Upon approaching the driver’s side, the officer found Kodak asleep with the window halfway down. Further inspection of the SUV revealed weed residue in the console and an alcoholic beverage in a Styrofoam cup.

But what shocked the arresting officer was his discovery of the “Super Gremlin” rapper swallowing a mouthful of cocaine. Asking Kodak if there were any illegal items in the vehicle, the officer received a response of “weed.”

Percocet Or Cocaine?

However, while the officer was running a check on Kodak’s driver’s license, he witnessed a white powder falling from the rapper and noticed that his mouth was full of the substance. Despite the rapper’s claims that it was Percocet, the powder was later confirmed to be cocaine.

The troubling incident not only led to charges of possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence but also triggered a probation violation related to a prior federal case.  As of now, the “No Flockin” rapper remains in custody awaiting his court appearance for these serious charges.

Kodak Black Arrested On Cocaine Possession & Other Charges

Kodak Black has once again found himself in legal trouble. The South Florida rapper was recently arrested for cocaine possession and other charges.

Kodak Black Arrested

Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, is facing charges of possession of cocaine and tampering with physical evidence. This arrest adds to Kodak’s list of legal troubles and his recent saga of arrests, further fueling the controversies surrounding the artist.

On Dec. 7, the “Walk” rapper was arrested in Plantation, Florida, and was subsequently booked into the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. The specific details of his arrest have not been disclosed to the public at this time.

Kodak’s Past Legal Woes

However, this arrest marks another setback for the rapper, who has made headlines for his previous brushes with the law.

The recent arrest is not the first time that Kodak has faced legal issues. In July 2022, he was arrested in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and trafficking oxycodone. His lawyer, Bradford Chen, had alleged that the arrest was a cover-up and sought a dismissal.

Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Kodak’s arrest, with many not being surprised. One user named @Cejezy commented, “Bro can’t go a whole year without getting in trouble,” and one other user named @Troyse1 joked by commenting, “Trump is not coming to save him this time,” referring to former United States president Donald Trump pardoned him in January 2020.

Is Kodak OK?

On October 24, during an interview with Drink Champs, the South Florida rapper was seen exhibiting signs of being under the influence. His speech was slurred, and he appeared unable to sit still. Fans took to social media to express their worries, questioning why the hosts, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, decided to have Kodak on the show, given its promotion of alcohol and marijuana use.

‘Kodak Black Day’

On a more positive note, in November 2023, Kodak Black received an honor from Palm Beach County, Florida, as he was awarded his own “Kodak Black Day.” During the ceremony, he sported a blue jacket and hat featuring the slogan “Make America Great Again,” associated with former President Donald Trump.

Another rapper who recently faced drug-related charges is YSL Mondo. In August 2023, he was arrested in Georgia on multiple drug and gun charges after a search was conducted at his residence.

Kodak Black Was Reportedly Arrested For Possession Of Cocaine In His Home State, Florida

Kodak Black has reportedly been arrested for possession of cocaine in his home state, Florida. XXL has posted records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office showing the controversial rapper’s arrest status and charges. As yet, no bond has been set and the charges against him are pending trial.

Kodak, whose real name is Bill Kapri, has an extensive history of run-ins with law enforcement going back to his first brushes with fame in 2015. In 2016, he was charged with felony criminal sexual conduct stemming from an incident follow a concert in Florence, South Carolina. He pled guilty in 2021, receiving a sentence of probation.

In 2018, he was charged with child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and marijuana possession after an Instagram Live feed showed him passing weed and a gun around a small child. While three of the charges were dropped, he was convicted of both possession charges and sentenced to a year in prison. He was released in August that year thanks to credit for time served.

In 2019, he was arrested at the US-Canada border by United States Customs and Border Protection for criminal possession of a weapon, released, then re-arrested in Miami ahead of his Rolling Loud performance on additional charges stemming from that arrest, including making a false statement on a governmental form for lying on his purchase documents for the guns confiscated at the border. He was sentenced to nearly four years in prison after pleading guilty; for the original charges, he also pled guilty, receiving a concurrent sentence between two and seven years.

However, in January 2021, as he was leaving office, Donald Trump communted Kodak’s sentence in a bid to curry favor with Black voters for his eventual 2024 election run. That seemingly hasn’t stopped Kodak from continuing to flout authority; in July 2022, he was arrested again for oxycodone trafficking, although his lawyer argued that the pills were prescribed to him.

Kodak Black’s Experimental Visuals For “2’CY” Draws More Questions Than Compliments

Kodak Black is one of the most interesting characters in rap today. Not only for his oddball personality but also for some of the material he puts out. The Florida native has been active yet again this year with two full-length projects to his name. Firstly, he put out Pistolz & Pearlz back on May 26. That album ran over an hour and six minutes with a 21-song tracklist. It was his last project under the umbrella of Atlantic Records. It would only take him another five and a half months before his presumedly last tape of 2023.

Three singles would promote Kodak’s more personal record When I Was Dead. One of those was a song called “2’CY.” It was a melodic cut that featured the rapper’s warbly flow. The production had a hint of Jersey club inspiration and can be seen as more of a softer cut. This is a reason why the reactions to these visuals for the single are putting the creative inspiration of Black in question.

Watch Kodak Black’s Haunting Music Video For “2’CY”

The video features a young boy who stumbles across a haunted house, with a little girl feasting on a dead body and Kodak’s head rapping in a fridge. The vibes clashed oddly and fans were not feeling it. XXL gathered some reactions to the imagery, with one saying, “This respectfully is the [worst] song yak ever made.” Another goes, “Why everybody making headless videos?? What’s the message n****?” Kodak has not responded to the reactions and he most likely will not. This may take the cake for the weirdest music video of the year.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for “2’CY” by Kodak Black from When I Was Dead? Is this the best track from this album, why or why not? Do you think Kodak missed the mark on the visuals, especially considering the tone of the song? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Boosie Forgives Rod Wave, Plans Legal Action Against Kodak Black & YG In Recent Feud

Kodak, Boosie, Rod Wave

Despite recent back-and-forth disputes, Boosie has taken to social media to express his willingness to collaborate with Rod Wave. In addition to forgiving Wave, the Louisiana native revealed his intentions to pursue legal actions against fellow rapper Kodak Black. Boosie has also recently called out YG for the same situation.

Boosie Rants On Social Media

On Tuesday, Nov. 21, on his Instagram live, Boosie made it clear that he’s open to working with Rod Wave, hoping to resolve their disagreements through musical collaboration.

However, this conciliatory gesture doesn’t mean the “Set It Off” rapper plans to back down in his legal battle against Kodak Black. To add to the mix, Boosie has now called out YG for his song, “Who Do You Love.” The Badazz rapper stated on his Instagram:

“Check ya DM @yg MY G SO WE CAN TAKE CARE THIS ‼

Boosie continued:

“I aint tryna break no nigga pockets. Im a business man. Im fair game. Just want my lil cut bro. Say he was gon get back at me. He aint hit me back yet. That was earlier this morning so hopefully he get back to me.

Before The Consensus

Boosie previously aired his disappointment with Rod Wave for sampling his song “Long Journey” without authorization, adding him to the list of rappers he intends to sue.

The Louisiana rapper didn’t stop there, pointing out that other artists had also used his music without permission. He emphasized the importance of proper compensation and recognition in the business of music. Boosie stated:

“Rod Wave Did it the best no cap…. Rod Wave ain’t the only one . Y’all better do y’all research. Rod Wave ain’t the only one. Lot of people got paper work on the way. It ain’t just Rod Wave. And it’s crazy cause all of em name it the same song.  Nah I ain’t in my feelings. I’m smiling. I ain’t mad. I love when they do that shit. When I hear people done took my shit and sang my shit and put it on records , they giving me my flowers you know. It’s just you gotta compensate me too. It’s a business you know? Just like you do everybody else. They supposed to reach out and be like “man we need to give you your writer’s share, your publishing on this record…”

Rod Wave Responds

Rod Wave responded to Boosie’s claims, expressing his willingness to meet and resolve the matter without the need for a lawsuit.

Wave made it clear that he respects Boosie’s talent and was even prepared to provide fair compensation. He further pleaded his willingness to do right by Boosie and took the plea to his Instagram stories. The “Turks and Caicos” artist stated:

“Man this shit got to stop. You ain’t got to sue no nigga like me man. Ima pull up. Fuck you talm bout suing me. I’ll pull up in you bro. Tell me a number. Tell me a real number though. Ima pull up to make sure you straight. You don’t got to sue me…. “ On my momma boosie big bra I fw ya tell me a real number yeen even gotta do all dat tell me a number ima pull up and bring it to you!!”

However, Boosie wasn’t convinced and defended his decision to take legal action, highlighting the business aspects at play. He responded to Wave via Twitter(X), and stated:

“How is it foul? Its buizness n you know that. You aint go do that to no other major label without compensating them with they splits why do it to a ni*** you looked up too. U expect me to let u take my kids publishing gtfoh stop playing victim my ni*** is u go sample no limit.”

Boosie Goes In On Yak

In addition to his disputes with Wave, Boosie called out Kodak Black for sampling his song “Let Me Ease Your Mind” without permission. Boosie voiced his disappointment on Twitter, lamenting the lack of fair business dealings between them. The “Set It Off” rapper stated:

“DAM @kodakblack EVEN THO WE FELL OUT WE COULDA DID FAIR BUIZNESS”

Although Kodak has yet to respond, Boosie’s intentions to pursue legal action are crystal clear.

Fans have eagerly weighed in on the situation. One fan (@fyee.ang) on instagram stated, “ Definitely should’ve got that figured out w Boosie first not wait til you get caught up. Mfs just have no respect yall want boosie to spare rod but rod ain’t spare Boosie dropping dat shit and aint pay no dues especially when u up no excuse.”

Another fan (@j.holiday4) stated, “I mean Boosie ain’t told no lie. That’s just like yall go Gucci and pay the price but then as your friends for a discount. It’s the principle not even the money. If he wouldn’t do it to Diddy or Michael Jackson then why do it to Boosie. He know how business work and still decide to sample without the proper protocol and this is coming from a die hard Rod fan.”

Rod Wave’s Unoriginal Flow?

This wouldn’t be Rod Wave’s first time swiping lyrics and Melodie’s.

One user (@RealTwanBrown) on Twitter(X) called out Wave for also swiping Jay-Z’s lyrics from “Song Cry” into his “2019.” The user stated, “See Boosie was one thing but now I think it’s time for legal action lol son card getting pulled cmon Rod Wave.”

In addition, Rod has also taken lyrics from artists such as Drake and Tupac.

Before The Lawsuit

Seems like Boosie may have a bullseye on Yak’s back. Boosie had aimed at Kodak Black in a diss track titled “Ungrateful.” In the song, the Baton Rouge rapper criticized Kodak for working with someone he considers a “snitch,” referring to 6ix9ine’s cooperation with law enforcement in his 2018 RICO case.

Boosie vs Torianna Hatch

Boosie is no rookie when calling others out. In August 2023, Boosie dropped a diss track that addressed the deteriorating relationship between him and his daughter. The track came after a recent social media war in July 2023, where the Louisiana rapper took back the pink Benz he had gifted his daughter for her birthday, sparking a wave of backlash.

GloRilla Faces Lawsuit For Unauthorized Sample

On a similar note of facing a lawsuit for unauthorized use of music, New Orleans rapper Ivory Paynes had filed a lawsuit against Memphis rapper GloRilla and producer Macaroni Toni, alleging that they used “key elements” from his 1994 song “Street Of The Westbank” to create GloRilla’s hit song “Tomorrow” without permission. Paynes had named Collective Music Group (CMG), Warner Chappell Music, and Sony/ATV Music in the lawsuit.

Kodak Black Receives His Own Day

Kodak Black

Kodak Black has earned the prestigious distinction of having a day named in his honor. The special event unfolded during a tailgate celebration at a Florida Atlantic University football game, where the South Florida rap sensation was presented with a plaque by the Florida senator, officially declaring “Kodak Black Day.”

‘Kodak Black Day’

Kodak Black has joined the ranks of esteemed rappers who have been honored with their own day.

The “Walk” rapper received the special distinction of having a day named after him in Palm Beach County. The presentation occurred during a tailgate event at a Florida Atlantic University football game in Boca Raton on November 11.

Kodak proudly accepted a plaque from Florida senator Bobby Powell, who declared Nov. 11 “Kodak Black Day” in Palm Beach County. The rapper wore a blue “Make America Great Again” hat and a jacket featuring former president Donald Trump’s logo.

While holding the plaque and standing next to Kodak, Powell said “[I have] a proclamation to recognize on November 11, 2023, 11-11 in West Palm Beach, Delray[Beach], Pompano[Beach], Broward[County] as Kodak Black Day,” Powell said on stage.

The crowd cheered for Kodak as he accepted the plaque and shook hands with Powell and took a photo with the plaque.

The announcement of “Kodak Black Day” in Palm Beach County elicited numerous reactions from social media users. Commenting on his status in Florida, one user with the handle @notaustinreaves stated, “I guess we know who the king of Florida is.” Another user named @lildamon17 simply celebrated the occasion, commenting with a “W for Kodak.”

Coincidentally, this isn’t the first time Kodak Black has received such recognition. In his hometown of Broward County, Florida, he was also granted his own day during a charity event in 2021 in Coral Springs. The event raised $5,000 to support the Lippman Youth Shelter. He was honored contributions in his hometown.

All About Yak

In other recent news involving Kodak Black, he was a guest on the Drink Champs podcast in October and appeared to be under the influence of drugs, and fans on social media posted their concerns about him. Users on Twitter (X) felt that Kodak shouldn’t have been on the show due to his questionable well-being.

One other event involving Kodak Black was him having a festival celebrating the first annual “Kodak Black Day” in Broward County in 2022. The festival provided carnival rides, games, vendors and performances from rappers such as Moneybagg Yo, EST Gee and French Montana

‘50 Cent Day’

This isn’t the first time a rapper has been honored with their own day. Notably, 50 Cent was recognized by the Connecticut governor with “50 Cent Day” on August 11 for his contributions to music and his ownership of a former mansion in the area.

Kodak Black’s Attorney Alleges Cover-Up In Drug Case, Seeks Dismissal

Kodak Black

Kodak Black is back in the spotlight. The Florida rapper’s lawyer is now seeking to dismiss his drug case involving charges of controlled substance possession and oxycodone trafficking. Kodak’s attorney contends that the seized pills were, in fact, Tylenol, not the illicit substances initially believed.

How It All Started

Kodak Black, the controversial rapper known for his hit song “Tunnel Vision,” is making headlines again, this time for his lawyer’s attempt to dismiss his drug case.

In July 2022, Kodak Black was arrested in Ft. Lauderdale and charged with possession of a controlled substance and trafficking oxycodone. However, his attorney, Bradford Cohen, argues that the pills seized by law enforcement were just Tylenol, not the illegal drugs they were thought to be.

Cohen, in his motion to dismiss obtained by TMZ, highlights that testing of a sample of the pills revealed their true nature.

The Blame Game

Moreover, Cohen is pointing fingers at FBI Special Agent James Mitchell, claiming bias against the South Florida native and accusing him of being involved in a massive cover-up orchestrated by the Broward Sheriff’s Office

Cohen asserts that the prosecution attempted to withhold a body cam video showing an officer surveilling Kodak. In the video, the officer can be heard saying he’s “always ready,” and the camera focused on his firearm, creating a potentially intimidating atmosphere.

Just Tylenol?

Adding to the controversy, Cohen asserts that the pills that were tested and proved to be Tylenol were destroyed during the process, and officials failed to provide any written report on the results.

This, according to the attorney, raises suspicions about the legitimacy of the case against Kodak Black. Cohen goes on to claim that the entire arrest and subsequent charges were part of a “coordinated takedown” of the rapper. With these allegations in mind, Kodak Black’s attorney is seeking to have the drug case entirely dismissed.

Cohen contends that the rapper’s arrest was a waste of taxpayer money and highlights the lack of evidence and transparency surrounding the investigation.

Kodak Black Booked At Florida Jail & Released On New $250K Bond

Kodak Black had a brief encounter with the Broward County Jail in Florida. After being taken into custody for about an hour, Kodak posted a new bond of $250,000, allowing his release. The rapper’s legal proceedings, led by his lawyer Bradford Cohen, were at the center of his pretrial release. This pit stop at the jail resulted from a warrant issued for his arrest due to his failure to appear at a court-mandated drug screening, a requirement stemming from a previous arrest in 2022.

Kodak Black had been on pretrial release for a prescription drug case. This release came with certain obligations, including regular check-ins with authorities and mandatory urine tests. However, Kodak failed to fulfill these requirements, leading to a court appearance.

The South Florida rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, argued for eliminating strict pretrial supervision in court. The judge granted the request but, as a result, increased Kodak’s bond from $75,000 to $250,000.

Although this meant the “Identity Theft” rapper had to go through the booking process again and take a new mugshot, it allowed him to be released from custody.

For Kodak’s legal team, this outcome is seen as a victory. With the elimination of pretrial service check-ins, Kodak will now be free to travel and tour without restrictions.
This development is particularly significant as the rapper recently performed at the Kodak Black & Friends event on June 26, sharing the stage with other notable artists such as G Herbo and iCandy.

Arrest Warrant Issued For Kodak Black Following Absence At Drug Test Meeting

Kodak Black, also known as Bill Kapri, is facing further legal trouble as an arrest warrant has been issued due to his failure to attend a drug testing meeting. The warrant comes as a violation of the conditions of his pretrial release in a felony drug case in Broward County.

Kodak Black is facing an arrest warrant after allegedly missing a meeting with pretrial services in a felony drug case in Broward County. The warrant was issued on June 14, following the Pompano Beach rapper’s absence at a scheduled drug test on June 9.

This violation of his pretrial release conditions has led to further legal consequences for the rapper.

Legal Troubles & Previous Arrest

Kodak Black’s legal troubles extend beyond this recent arrest warrant. In July 2022, he was initially arrested on multiple charges, including trafficking in oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and driving with an expired driver’s license and tags.

The rapper posted a $75,000 bond the day after his arrest. Furthermore, in February 2022, he failed a required drug test by testing positive for Fentanyl, resulting in further complications in his legal proceedings.

The Pompano Beach rapper is scheduled to appear in court on June 26 to address the allegations against him regarding the missed drug testing. However, his team has not made any official statements regarding the situation.

Growing List Of Rappers Facing Legal Issues

Kodak Black joins a growing list of rappers who have encountered severe legal problems recently. Artists like Quando Rondo, Blueface, and Playboi Carti have faced their fair share of legal challenges and found themselves in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

Kodak Black Released From Jail After Being Arrested On Drug Charges

Florida rapper Kodak Black was released from jail on a $75k bond on Saturday, July 16. He was arrested the day before on drug trafficking charges.

Free From Jail

Last Saturday (July, 16), after being charged with the possession of oxycodone pills, Kodak Black, real name Bill Kahan Kapri, was released from jail on a $75k bond.

Around 5 pm on Saturday, a reporter from NBC6 posted a video on Twitter showing the rapper had left the Broward County Jail in South Florida.

“Never Judge a case based on an arrest. There are always additional facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case,” said Bradford Cohen, Kodak’s defense attorney, in a tweet Saturday morning. Cohen also stated that they would move forward to resolve Kodak’s issue quickly.

Alleged Possession Of Oxycodone Pills

According to a tweet from Andy Slater, a radio talk show host based in Florida, this 25-year-old rapper was arrested on Friday because of trafficking.

“Cops pulled over the rapper and during a search found 30+ Oxycodone pills and over $50,000 in cash during a search.”

It was reported that while the rapper was driving a purple Dodge Durango on the Florida Highway, the patrol noticed that the tints of Kodak’s car windows seemed darker than the legal limit.

Also, it was discovered that the rapper’s license had expired, and so did the vehicle’s registration.

When the police searched the car, they found nearly $75,000 in cash and a small clear bag containing 31 white oxycodone tablets. According to the CDC, oxycodone is an opioid drug that treats pain and can be highly addictive. Overdosing on prescription opioids can stop breathing and lead to death.
