Key Glock Mourns Death Of The Glock Firearm Company’s Founder & Engineer

As one of Memphis’ top MCs right now, Key Glock is slowly becoming one of the first names you rattle off when thinking about the best trap artists today. However, the depth behind that name has quite an interesting backstory, which just recently got a saddening but honorable new set of context. Moreover, he recently took to Twitter on Wednesday (December 27) to mourn the death of Gaston Glock, the engineer who founded the Glock firearm company and designed its products. “RIP UNK,” the Tennessee rapper expressed on the social media platform, a succinct but nonetheless tributing statement on an underrated influence in his career trajectory.

Furthermore, he’s used the “Glock” name for a lot of his promotion and branding, such as his most recent album Glockoma 2. But Key Glock had previously explained that his artist name stems from a nickname that he got while coming uo in Memphis. As such, there might be more direct reasoning as to why this name is what he formed a career off of, and whether he had a special affinity for Glocks. Still, the Paper Route Empire hitmaker has never gotten too specific about this name’s origins, so there’s plenty to unveil if he so chooses.

Elsewhere on social media, he also had to respond to some pretty bizarre and worrisome allegations about backstage conduct. For those unaware, a fan alleged that they found a note around the “meet and greet” section for a recent show that read: “If you ain’t f***ing or sucking, leave!” When the “F**k A Feature” spitter caught wind of this, he claimed that he wasn’t responsible for this if it even happened in the first place, and seemed quite peeved at the assumption. “Key Glock ain’t said s**t,” he tweeted in response to these rumors spiraling on the Internet.

Meanwhile, we hope that the 26-year-old continues to find massive career success in 2024, as he had a killer 2023. After all, whether it was through a freestyle remix of Bad Bunny’s “MONACO” or his own solo work, he proved that he’s one of the best in the mainstream lane right now. Hopefully that’s something that keeps going on an upward trajectory. For more news and the latest updates on Key Glock, stay posted on HNHH.

Key Glock Set Off A Joke Spree By Paying Respect To The Inventor Of Glock Handguns, AKA ‘The OG Glock’

On Wednesday, December 27, Glock confirmed the death of its namesake, Gaston Glock, on its website’s homepage. The Austrian inventor was 94 years old. Several reputed outlets, such as ABC, Reuters, and The New York Times, offered detailed obituaries. But many people were more interested in Key Glock‘s reaction.

“RIP UNK,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter) — a very simple message that has since gone viral. Born Markeyvius Cathey, the Memphis rapper has previously explained how he got his Key Glock stage name. When asked about it for Gutta TV’s YouTube channel in September 2017, he said, “Right here where you’re standing, in these streets of Memphis. I ain’t gonna go into details, but I got that joint.”

Glock’s post earned several clever responses. “rip to the real OG GLOCK,” the X user @sincerelydylan wrote. Someone going by Spiffy Global chimed in, writing, “Just heard they giving you the company gang. Congratulations.” Meanwhile, many other people suggested that Key Glock should drop a song in honor of Gaston Glock. Someone even tossed out the not-so-bad idea of a future album titled Glockfather.

As per ABC News, Glock founded his handgun company in 1963.

Reuters added:

“The Austrian won loyal followings among police and military across the world with the weapons that bore his name. Forbes estimated his and his family’s fortune at $1.1 billion in 2021. His rise began in the 1980s when the Austrian military was looking for a new, innovative weapon. Up until then, the Glock company had made military knives and consumer goods including curtain rods. But he assembled a team of firearms experts and came up with the Glock 17, a lightweight semi-automatic gun largely made of plastic.”

Key Glock Proves There Is Only “One Me”

Memphis, Tennessee rapper Key Glock is one of the most prolific rappers in the game. It seems like every other day the man has a new track for us to talk about. Well, that has been the case over the past couple of weeks. That is mainly because Glock has a new album on the way, and it could be coming out in the next couple of days.

The name of the project is Glocktober. Fans in the comments section on the announcement post on his Instagram were showing lots of excitement. They were also poking some fun at the cover art. The reason is that it shares the exact same imagery as Glockoma 2. All Glock did was change the color from red to orange for a supposed Halloween release date.

He began teasing fans a few days ago on his Instagram. Glock posted a picture of the album cover with a caption. It read, “G L O C K T O B E R 🎃 Stay tuned… 👀🫣🧡🔥🔥🔥” With the name, color scheme, and the emojis used, one can assume we will have the next project on or by Halloween.

Key got the fans even more ready with the release of the lead single just last week. It was a sequel to “No Hook,” simply titled “No Hook 2.” Now, we have another track, “Murders & Millions.” He raps over a sinister beat with a soulful sample flip. The kick drums and 808s are extremely crisp, just as you would expect from Mr. Glock.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new single from Key Glock, “Murder & Millions?” Is this the better of the two tracks leading up to the release of Glocktober? Key Glock Serves Up First Single From “Glocktober” With “No Hook 2”

Ruthless Memphis MC Key Glock is having a great year so far. We say that because it seems that another project is on the horizon. In fact, it may come right around Halloween. Hopefully, it does because it will be the perfect music to bump while stealing everyone’s Halloween candy (do not do that). But, in all seriousness, that is how Key’s music makes you feel. He gives listeners tons of confidence to do whatever (but be smart and make the right decisions). His in-your-face and violent bars make him extremely entertaining.

That is why his last album, Glockoma 2, has been a joy for fans of his. While he might not be the most versatile rapper, he does his style very well. Of course, this follows up on his 2018 tape, Glockoma. One of the songs on the deluxe, “No Hook” was a solid add-on to the tracklist. Now, it gets a sequel.

In addition, it is also the lead single to his upcoming album, Glocktober. Glock has not officially given a release date yet. But, with the title and the color of the cover being orange, it is safe to say sometime right before Halloween it will be out. It is the same cover as Glockoma 2 and fans under his Instagram post for it are hilarious. While they are amped for new music, they cannot help but make witty jokes. One says, “This finna be bro album cover from now on with a different color 😂😂🔥🔥” Another adds, “Next one gonna be a green one that say the Glock that stole Christmas.” If we are already on this trend, we say Key follows up on this.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new single from Key Glock, “No Hook 2?” Is this better than the original song from his Glockoma 2 (Deluxe) album? Are you getting hyped now that we know he is dropping another Glock entry coming from him soon? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. WATCH: Key Glock Delivers New Video for "Penny"

Key Glock has released an exhilarating video for his track “Penny,” featured on the Glockoma 2 (Deluxe) album. In the video, the South Memphis native takes to the skies and the basketball court, drawing parallels between his money-making prowess and an NBA star’s scoring abilities.

“Penny” is a masterful blend of vintage samples and cutting-edge Tennessee trap beats produced by Mannie iL & Swaeze. In the song, Glock cleverly contrasts short-term gains with long-term ambitions.

Key Glock’s recent successes include earning two RIAA-certified GOLD plaques for his 2020 album Yellow Tape and his 2019 collaboration with Young Dolph, “Dum and Dummer.” His latest album, Glockoma 2, initially dropped in February and was later expanded with Glockoma 2 (Deluxe). The album showcases Glock’s exceptional skills, as he effortlessly carries 23 tracks solo. Glockoma 2 enjoyed eight weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, reaching a peak position of #13.

Peezy And Key Glock Come Through With “No Amiris”

Key Glock and Peezy are an unfamiliar combination but they complement each other perfectly on this new track. Detroit and Memphis collide for straight heat on “No Amiris,” a song about having the money and being the man of the city, which fits right into these artists’ wheelhouses. CHASETHEMONEY is responsible for the hard-hitting production here. He has worked with the likes of IDK, Yeat, Ski Mask the Slump God, and more.

The beat is sinister with twinkling but creepy piano keys and rattling hi-hats. Both provide aggressive and entertaining lyrics to couple with the beat’s tone. Overall, Peezy and Key Glock have solid chemistry on the track and fans seem to be loving what they are hearing so far. They also put out a music video for “No Amiris.”

Key Glock Delivers "Chromosomes" Visual & Throws Playboy-Themed Birthday in Houston w/ Impromptu Performance By Sexyy Redd

Key Glock has made it his mission to keep Young Dolph’s name alive.

And while Key Glock is best known for his hard-hitting bangers over the hardest beats, he’s also recently discovered his newfound hobby: throwing epic parties.

This past weekend, Key Glock hosted yet another extravagant-themed party to celebrate his 26th birthday. Embodying the theme of a Playboy Oasis, the event took place at CLÉ Houston. Artists in attendance include Trae the Truth, Sauce Walka, India Love, Dess Dior, Maxo Kream, J.Mulan, and more.

But the highlight of the evening had to be the impromptu performance by Sexyy Redd, the St. Louis rapper who’s been dominating the rap game as of late. Glock was in high spirits as he sang along to Sexyy’s latest hit, “Pound Town,” and a string of PRE Hits.

The party came equipped with mermaids, fire dancers, and Glock Hefner’s painted playmates. Luxury cabanas were stocked with everything from water guns to hookah, as guests soaked in the sun and vibes with sounds by DJ Sky High and Houston native DJ Mr. Rogers.

During the party, Key Glock announced (and posted via social media) the release of his new video “Chromosomes,” off his Glockoma 2 (Deluxe) EP released back in June. The visual currently hails over 3.3 million views in just under a week, a true testament to Key Glock’s incredibly loyal fanbase. The 2.5-minute video sees Glock bringing the song to life, surrounded by jewelry, cars, 4-wheelers, and of course, beautiful women.
