Young Dolph & Key Glock’s ‘Rain Rain’ Video Waves Away The Haters

In Young Dolph & Key Glock’s video for their latest single, “Rain Rain,” the two Memphis rappers show off their recreational activities, which include bowling and playing with Nerf guns. Dolph opens the video flipping through a luxury catalogue, while his protege hangs out with women bowling in a black light-bathed private alley in the basement of what looks like their “Aspen” cabin. Dolph returns for a final appearance waving a green-and-blue Nerf gun around in another of the massive house’s spacious hallways.

The rollout for the duo’s second joint album Dum And Dummer 2 has been lengthy and impressive, as they shared videos for multiple tracks from the album, including “Case Closed,” “Aspen,” “Sleep With The Roaches,” “Penguins,” and “Dummest & The Dummest.” In the latter video, the pair discusses their plans for the Aspen cabin, and joke around about scamming rich white women for their favored video location.

In addition to the string of videos officially on Dum And Dummer 2, Dolph and Glock also linked up for videos for “No Sense” and “Green Light,” which appear on Dolph’s album Rich Slave — his final solo album, provided he holds to his threat to retire.

Young Dolph & Key Glock Scam Their Way Out Of Aspen In Their ‘Dummest & The Dummest’ Video

In a stroke of what could be either genius or insanity, Young Dolph & Key Glock have shared an usual video for the outro from their second joint album, Dum And Dummer 2. While they’ve already put out videos for “No Sense,” “Green Light,” “Aspen,” “Sleep With The Roaches,” and “Penguins,” apparently they really wanted fans to be see their chemistry “Dummest & The Dummest” just plays in the background.

And truthfully, they could be right. While not a lot happens visually, the true treat is in the subtitles that appear on-screen, designating each rapper by a hilarious nickname and literally transcribing phrases like “rich white b*tches.” Set on the patio of the cabin the duo rented out for their “Aspen” video, the two discuss Glizock’s car trouble, scamming the cabin’s owner, and the opulent home decorations. Glock also gets lost on the way out.

Speaking of getting out, it looks like Dolph is ready to get out of the rap game. He announced that Dum And Dummer 2 would be his final release on Instagram, telling fans, “I hope y’all enjoying the new mixtape, it’s my last project putting out. I wasn’t gonna tell y’all but I thought y’all should know I’m done with music.” Of course, we’ve heard that before.

Young Dolph Announces His Retirement Just Days After Releasing ‘Dum & Dummer 2’ With Key Glock

Last summer, Young Dolph delivered his seventh album Rich Slave, a 16-track effort that increased to 24 when its deluxe reissue arrived at the beginning of 2021, and which bore contributions from Key Glock, Megan Thee Stallion, G Herbo, and Kenny Muney. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest-charting release of his career. Dolph continued to impress with Dum & Dummer 2, his joint album with fellow Memphis rapper Key Glock, which dropped last week. Unfortunately for fans of Dolph, the new project marks an end to his career, as he took to Instagram to announce his retirement from hip-hop.

“I hope y’all enjoying the new mixtape, it’s my last project putting out,” he revealed in the post’s caption. “I wasn’t gonna tell y’all but i thought y’all should know im done with music. ENJOY.”

While the timing of the news may be unexpected, it’s not the first time that Dolph has announced his retirement. In March 2020, he called it quits from the rap game in order to spend more time with his family. “I’m done doing music so I can go kick it with my son,” he said at the time. “Key Glock is already poised to be the new torchbearer.” The retirement didn’t last long, as he quickly returned to begin the rollout for Rich Slave, which arrived five months later.

Young Dolph And Key Glock Are Ice-Cold In Their NSFW ‘Penguins’ Video

After releasing three singles, “Case Closed,” “Aspen,” and “Sleep With The Roaches,” Young Dolph and Key Glock dropped their Dum And Dummer 2 joint mixtape today/last night, sharing one more video this morning/afternoon: The borderlined-NSFW “Penguins.”

As you may have already figured out, “Penguins” is yet another metaphor for how icy the two Memphis rappers are, and while the video eschews the high-concept theme of the similarly-titled “Aspen,” it gets the job done when it comes to showing off their wealth. For one thing, their complementary Rolls-Royce’s are prominently featured, as is Glock’s truly ridiculous jewelry collection.

The duo stops for gas on the way to the strip club, performing about half the song by the pumps, then spends the rest of the video rapping next to a different kind of pump. If you’re lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it) enough to have returned to working in an office, you may want to wait ’til you get home to watch the full video; although most of the naughtiest parts are helpfully blurred, you might still end up with a lot of explaining to do.

Young Dolph And Key Glock Celebrate Their Success In The ‘Sleep With The Roaches’ Video

Less than two years have passed since Memphis rappers Young Dolph and Key Glock joined forces for their Dum And Dummer project. The effort spawned highlights like “1 Hell Of A Life,” “Water On Water On Water,” and “Everybody Know.” Fast forward to 2021, and the duo is preparing to drop a sequel to the 2019 release. Fresh off announcing Dum And Dummer 2 earlier this month, Dolph and Glock return with their new single, “Sleep With The Roaches.”

The track is a celebratory effort that sees the Memphis natives relishing in the success they’ve attained in their respective careers. In the video, the rappers cozy up with a group of women as they brag about their accomplishments.

Dum And Dummer 2 has yet to be given a release date but Dolph and Glock have previously shared a pair of singles from the upcoming effort. Earlier this month, they dropped “Aspen” and paired it with a chilly video, and prior that, they graced fans with their “Case Closed” track. Dum And Dummer 2 also comes after a fairly big year for the Memphis rappers in 2020. Dolph shared his Rich Slave project which was met with a warm response while Glock delivered two full-length releases to fans last year: Yellow Tape and Son Of A Gun.

Key Glock And Young Dolph Hit The Slopes In Their Icy ‘Aspen’ Video

After delaying the release of their icy “Aspen” video last Friday, Key Glock and Young Dolph are finally ready to hit the slopes. Taking over a cabin on a snowy mountainside, the two Memphis rappers canoodle with some models, have a snowball fight, and tote snowboards to the ski lift (although, in typical rapper fashion, we never do get to see those snowboards get used — call it a liability issue). The video is the first from the duo’s upcoming joint album Dum And Dummer 2, which doesn’t have a release date as yet.

Despite being the first official single from Dum And Dummer 2, “Aspen” was far from Dolph and his protege’s first collaboration of 2021. In February, they teamed up for the video to “Green Light” from the deluxe version of Dolph’s album Rich Slave. Later on in February, they released “Case Closed,” a new crossover unattached to any official releases, but which will likely land on the upcoming joint album.

Meanwhile, Key started off the year with a pair of solo tracks, “Off The Porch” and “I’m The Type,” portending a big year for the 23-year-old rapper. His mentor and label boss, Young Dolph, dropped solo videos for “Large Amounts” and “To Be Honest” before shifting gears to their joint venture.

Key Glock And Young Dolph Announce ‘Dum And Dummer 2’ With The Chilly ‘Aspen’

Veteran Memphis rapper Young Dolph and his charismatic protege/cousin Key Glock set the rap world on fire in 2019 with their joint album, Dum And Dummer. Released independently, it had an impressive No. 8 debut on the Billboard 200, establishing Key Glock as a rapper to watch.

Get ready for another ride, because they just announced a sequel, Dum And Dummer 2, releasing the first single, “Aspen.” With a thumping beat riddling with quick hits of a church organ, “Aspen” once again displays the Memphis duo’s indelible chemistry, boasting about their rags-to-riches stories and promising to take a vacation at the famed Colorado resort town.

In the wake of the original Dum And Dummer, Key Glock capitalized in a huge way, following up his stellar performances with two well-received full-length projects in 2020, Yellow Tape and Son Of A Gun. The former debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, proving that his newfound popularity from the joint tape could carry over to a solo project.

Meanwhile, Dolph himself followed up in 2020 as well with Rich Slave — which debuted at No. 4 on the 200 — and its deluxe version, which added eight new songs and an appearance from another of his Paper Route Empire signees, Kevin Muney.

Young Dolph And Key Glock Chart Their Rise In The Measured Track ‘Case Closed’

Last year, Young Dolph made the shocking announcement that he was quitting music to focus on his family life. But like several recent retirement announcements (Nicki Minaj, anyone?), it didn’t last long. Young Dolph returned with a bang with his polished album Rich Slave. Now, Young Dolph teams up with Key Glock to turn out even more tunes with their joint track “Case Closed.”

The song opens with a low, measured beat before the two rappers reflect on their rise to success. “Went from sleeping on the floor / Now my jewelry box froze / F*ck a boat, f*ck a store / Counted millions in a coat,” Young Dolph raps in the hook.

Ahead of the song’s release, Young Dolph came up with a clever way to promote his 2020 Rich Slave LP. Rather than go down the typical route of releasing album-specific merch (which he still did), the rapper upped the ante by hosting a giveaway contest with a Lamborghini Aventador as the prize. “Last week i walked in the garage to get on my 4wheeler and i looked at my Lambo and said to myself ‘Dolph u should give someone your aventador and let them enjoy it, u not doin nothin wit it,’” he had said alongside the giveaway.
