For Trinidadians, the most wonderful time of the year is officially upon us – Carnival. 2023 marks the first year that the festival has been able to return to its full decadence, and needless to say the world is excited. Many locals will be stepping out for the ongoing island festivities, but from what we’ve heard so far, several celebrities are attending as well.

Unsurprisingly, Nicki Minaj announced via Instagram on Sunday (February 19) that she’s touched down in her hometown. This marks the Queen of rap’s first time attending since 2020, which is also the last time she graced the stage. While many are excitedly gearing up for her forthcoming performance, others are gushing over the fact that Damson Idris is also in Trinidad for Carnival this week.

Damson Has Big Love for Trinidad

After spending some time in T&T for Carnival, the Snowfall actor didn’t take long to fall in love with the country. “Absolutely love it here,” he told viewers watching his Instagram Story recently. “I need a Trini real talk, bought to buy a crib here,” he went on, specifically praising their food and drinks.

“Even the air taste good,” Idris joked, pretending to inhale the atmosphere while wandering around a lush green garden. “The only thing is… the mosquitos. They treat me like I’m Popeyes,” he said, revealing his singular criticism of Trinidad. “Apart from that, perfect vibes.” Elsewhere on social media, the English star previewed some of the live music he’s been lucky enough to see.

Trinidad certainly does look good on him, but it’s unlikely the country’s beauty will be enough to convince Idris to stay. Now that he’s got Lori Harvey by his side, the foreign actor is easily one of the most coveted men in the world. They made their red carpet debut together last week, and while their outfits were obviously on point, some Twitter users think that their chemistry could use some work.

Reginae Carter Posts Throwback Dedicating Song To Lil Wayne & Toya As A Teen

Reginae Carter recently posted an adorable video on Instagram of her dedicating a song to her parents Lil Wayne and Antonia Johnson as a teen. “I’m just gonna sing a little song for you guys and I hope you like it!” she said in the clip. “It’s about my mommy and my daddy. My heart beats for two / One for me and one for you / I can feel it in my bloodstream, your love is what I bring / Your love, your love, your love / Your love is so sweet, unconditional, I just thought I’d let you know / You try not to let me down, ready to catch me if I stumble / No one other thing in this whole wide world could replace the parents of this girl.”

What’s more is that Reginae actually hits those notes quite well, indicating a lot of talent from a young age. Amid a lot of laughing emojis, she penned a cute tribute to her parents in her caption. “I hope my kids love me like I love my parents,” she expressed on Instagram. “The song is giving i wanted something biggg, had to be a car cause I’m singing my heart out. Jk love my Tootiesss.” Of course, the 24-year-old often tributes her parents in everything she does.

Recently she aired out frustrations over new rappers comparing themselves to her dad, Tunechi. “‘KEEP MY FATHER’S NAME OUT YA MOUTH,’” she tweeted, adding two laughing emojis to the post. “Nah fr y’all need to stop comparing my dad to the new kids on the block .. gotta stop ! Everybody is super talented and dope ! Let them have their run and time will tell .. but leave that marathon Wayne ran out of it …”

Also, Reginae’s clapped back at critics of her relationship. Even though some call it naive and maybe too corny, she clearly feels strongly about her bond to Armon Warren. “It’s really super weird to me when people get mad at you for loving your significant other out loud…” she expressed on Twitter. This time last week, it seemed as though Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s future plans to walk down the aisle were all but officially cancelled. Many were celebrating the Super Bowl with wild shenanigans in Arizona last weekend. At the same time, the engaged couple found themselves in the midst of a serious feud. It still remains unclear exactly what lead to their blowout. Presently, the Transformers actress is doing her part to dispel any cheating rumours.

It all began when Fox markedly removed all evidence of the recording artist from her Instagram. Their romantic (and sometimes scandalous) photos were replaced with lyrics from Beyoncé’s LEMONADE. After being bombarded with comments from pop culture enthusiasts, she deleted her profile entirely. This left the world to speculate about the status of her engagement.

Megan Addresses MGK Infidelity Rumours

She sit back and let the drama unfold for a few days, but this past weekend, the mother of three made a return to social media. On Sunday (February 19), Fox chiefly shut down any gossip regarding infidelity in a screenshot from her notes app. “There has been no third-party interference in this relationship of any kind,” she assured followers.

“You need to let this story die and leave all of these innocent people alone now,” she later pleaded with gossip bloggers and internet trolls. In the hours since sharing the post, the black-haired beauty has continued to address the drama. Specifically, she’s shutting down speculation about Kelly hooking up with his guitarist, Sophie Lloyd.

As the rumour mill rapidly turned last week, Lloyd’s team issued a statement condemning the allegations against her and the “Wild Boy” artist. Fox is also doing her part to stop the hate from spewing, dropping by the musician’s comment section to send her some advice and words of love. “How me making a joke in order to absolve this girl of a hurtful accusation somehow turned into a confirmation of it – I will never understand,” she wrote.

“Why are people so…so dumb,” she went on before praising her partner’s tour mate for her insane talent. “Welcome to Hollywood. Your first unwarranted PR disaster. You have now been baptized by the flames of fame,” Fox then teased Lloyd. “It only gets worse from here, unfortunately. Just ignore it as much as you can. [Heart emoji] middle finger up.”

Deelishis Speaks On Niece’s Death In MSU Shooting With Chris Cuomo: Watch

On February 13th, the Michigan State University campus underwent a shelter-in-place order after an active shooter was reported. The aftermath of this mass shooting resulted in four deaths and five injuries. Deelishis’s niece, Arielle Diamond, was of those tragically killed in this horrific attack. The Flavor of Love 2 star initially took to Instagram to ask followers about Diamond’s whereabouts.

“My beautiful niece @ariellediamond_ is a student at Michigan State University… she was in her classroom in the same building as the active shooter and we have not heard from her, ” Deelishis wrote. “If you know her whereabouts please dm me… in the meantime my family and I ask for your prayers.” Diamond, who was 19 at the time, was studying at MSU with hopes of becoming a pediatrician.

Deelishis Says Her Niece Was “Innocent”

Nearly a week after the shooting, Deelishis sat down with NewsNation‘s Chris Cuomo in an emotional interview about Diamond’s death. “She was good, she was innocent, she was family,” the grieving aunt told the news anchor. “She was important, she was loved, she was kindness, she was goodness. This shouldn’t have happened to her.” The emotional interview brought tears to Deelishis’ eyes as she recounted the life of her late niece.

Deelishis, who initially rose to fame after winning Flavor of Love 2, continued to reflect on her niece’s impact. When asked about the legacy that Diamond would have built, she responded, “She would have definitely been a contribution. She still will be a contribution, you know the devil won’t win. She has a purpose that’s gonna definitely live out.”

The 45-year-old media personality has continued to post on Instagram in Diamond’s honor. In her most recent post, she writes, “As you can imagine, this is tough for my family. But we refuse to lose our Faith in God, even in the midst of our greatest challenges and crisis.”

While the identity of the MSU shooting suspect is confirmed, a motive is seemingly impossible to identify. The 43-year-old gunman concluded his killing spree with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to CNN. The outlet reports that chaos ensued across the campus, which in turn affected distant family members, including Deelishis. Chris Brown Pauses Performance After Fan Passes Out

Ever since venues have opened back up for public performances, artists and their teams have held safety as the main priority. Whether dealing with crowd control or one-off fans, there’s been an uptick in videos of performers figuratively checking the temperatures of their attendees all around the world. The same can be said for Chris Brown, who stopped his latest show for a fan in need out in the UK. The moment occurred last night (Feb 19.) during the European leg of his Under the Influence tour.

This morning, The Shade Room uploaded a clip of the Virginia-born superstar from his latest show Sunday in Birmingham, England. While crooning along to his hit “C.A.B. (Catch A Body)” featuring NY’s Fivio Foreign, Brown immediately paused and asked his crew to cut the music. He questioned, “Somebody pass out right there?” before asking fans to pass their fellow showgoer some water. The crowd and Breezy’s dancers applauded his efforts in the seconds that followed before he continued on.

Chlöe Shares Trailer For New Album “In Pieces”

Chlöe just shared a new trailer for her upcoming debut album In Pieces, dropping on March 31st this year. Moreover, this comes after news of the album’s completion and after she shared much excitement for it. “I turned in the album!!!” she shared to Instagram a couple of days ago. “Been crying tears of joy. 3 years in the making. can’t wait for y’all to hear … SOON!!!” With this newest post, the singer hinted at the project’s themes and aesthetic direction. Overall, it seems like the Bailey sister will bring a grand, lush, and personal statement to her fans.

“IN PIECES 3.31.23,” she captioned her post with a heart emoji (the real thing, not the pure red emoji). “My tears are like the water. my heart is like the sun. through chaos, beauty grows. there’s power in my pain,” she added. Furthermore, the short clip features a song snippet, album title, and release date. In the video, Chlöe stands in underwear inside a glass case. While posing and showing off her body and red locks, she stands among flowers, vines, and fallen leaves. As the video closes out, she sheds a tear and the glass case cracks. Also, the song snippet features gorgeous harmonized and manipulated vocals, a lumbering beat, and some distorted synthesizers.

Even though this is exciting news for any R&B fan, her rollout fell victim to some criticism as well. Most of it stems from the announcement of a Chris Brown collab set to drop later this week. Furthermore, many fans expressed disappointment at the 24-year-old working with a historically abusive artist. In fact, backlash to the team-up garnered such outrage that Chris Brown engaged in a lengthy Instagram rant calling out his haters.

Lil Wayne Flexes Skateboarding Skills In New Video With Custom Board

Lil Wayne recently showed off his skateboarding skills with friends at an indoor space on Instagram. While some people were skeptical at his tricks and called them repetitive over the years, he’s clearly still got it. Also, it’s important to note that out of all rappers on the planet, Wayne’s the last person who needs an extracurricular. Not only is he an incredibly prolific rapper and feature presence, but he’s probably got so much in the vault. Overall, Weezy’s skill with a mic and/or pen translates well on wheels, and he clearly loves it a lot.

In fact, the New Orleans MC is such a fan that he just watched skating videos during a Grammys party. Furthermore, but it’s kind of funny considering that they also honored him with the Global Impact Award.  “I want you all to know that I don’t get honored,” he said during his acceptance speech. “Where I’m from, New Orleans, you’re not supposed to do this. Also, the rapper recently received a custom pro model board to signify his official professional skateboarder status. “This was a Christmas gift, but I decided to turn it into a surprise because it would be more meaningful that way,” Wayne’s videographer for Young Money Skate, Phil Lopez. “As Wayne’s videographer, I wanted to do something special for him that he’d remember. I approached Torey, owner of Thank You Skate Co., with the board design, and he was able to help execute the production process.” Pro skaters Torey Pudwill, Keelan Dadd, and Yosef Ratleff were also there to gift him the board. In fact, that seemed to be the same board he uses in this newest skate video.

However, even with all those accolades, Tunechi doesn’t call himself “the GOAT” of skating. Chris Brown Hints At Working With Cassie On “Psychic” Music Video

Chris Brown hinted at another Cassie collab, who will appear in his upcoming music video for “Psychic” featuring Jack Harlow. Moreover, the R&B singer posted a short snippet of the music video and a picture with Cassie. “GIRL YA PSYCHIC PSYCHIC,” he commented the post. While this is surely exciting news for fans, it also came at a bit of an odd time for Brown. After all, following the announcement of his Chlöe collab, fans brought up his history of abuse against women again and past mistakes. Although this wouldn’t be a new collaboration, it’s another bit of fuel in the fire at this point.

Still, reactions were relatively split online concerning his new collab, though both camps were incredibly vocal. “Me watching y’all outage over Chris Brown and Chloe but he just did a tour and it sold out,” one tweeter remarked. “Somebody lying on twitter but go off.” In addition, another pointed out more wrongdoing on Brown’s behalf. “The Chris Brown backlash Chloe is getting isn’t even just about Rihanna? He literally mocked Kehlani after her 2016 suicide attempt?”

Regardless, fans will choose whether to support this new video with Cassie or not. While artists like Lil Baby didn’t receive much flack for touring with Breezy, many called out double standards for criticisms of Chlöe. Nicki Minaj Reacts To Rihanna’s Son & Super Bowl Performance

Nicki Minaj congratulated Rihanna on her “new bundle of joy” and for killing it during her halftime show for Super Bowl LVII in a comment on Instagram. Minaj was responding to Rihanna’s post labeling her baby “fine,” for which she received backlash from fans.

“My son so fine! Idc idc idc! How crazy both of my babies were in these photos and mommy had no clue. thank you so much @edward_enninful and @inezandvinoodh for celebrating us as a family!” Rihanna captioned the photo of herself with her song. Minaj commented in response: “a lil pretty boy already. Congratulations on the new bundle of joy, Queen. Bodied Super Bowl.”

Rihanna reflected on the birth of her son during an interview with British Vogue after her Super Bowl performance. She gave birth to the child back in May 2022. “Man, you’re a zombie for the most part,” she said of the first few months. “You’re just going through the motions and even then you’re so paranoid. Because you’re like: they trusted us to come home with this baby? This new life? With us? No doctors, no nurses, we’re just… going home?” Despite the worries, Rihanna says that she and A$AP Rocky didn’t opt to hire a nanny. Instead, they handled all of the parenting duties themselves.

She added: “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because…. Because it doesn’t matter.”

Minaj welcomed her own son, who she refers to publically as “Papa Bear,” in September 2020. Minaj has been married to Kenneth Petty since 2019. Similar to Rihanna, Minaj spoke about feeling more anxious when she first gave birth to Papa Bear. “I hate that I have more anxiety now because you’re like, ‘What if the one time I leave my child, I get that phone call?” she told E! News at the time. “I think moms feel like they have to be perfect.”

Cam’ron Announces His Mother’s Death

Cam’ron says that his mother, Fredericka Giles, has passed away. The legendary New York rapper reflected on their relationship during an emotional tribute post on Instagram, Saturday. He began the statement by admitting that he’s struggling to find the strength to put his feeling into words.

“Right now, I don’t have the strength to put into words to express what my mom means to me, and I’d have to right (sic) a book and maybe I will,” he wrote. From there, he explained: “In 2007 my mom had a stroke leaving her partially paralyzed on her left side and a speech impediment, but if you followed her or was her friend on social media you would never know any of that. She was witty, funny, intelligent, sarcastic, and outspoken. People would say ‘Cam I know you’re writing ya moms’ captions’ and I wasn’t. I would see my moms’ captions and say ‘Where are you learning this?’ (Lingo) she’d tell me ‘be easy lil homie’ lol.”

“I’m so sad to inform you guys of her passing. I wasn’t going to share this because I’m in a lot of pain and Didn’t think it was anyone’s business, But thinking about it, I really wanted to thank you all for making my moms’ days and nights for the last decade or so,” he explained. “Social media was her go-to for, entertainment, news, general gossip etc.”

Later in the post, Cam’ron reflected on being with her on his most recent birthday. He wrote: “She wasn’t doing well on my bday that just passed, and when I walked in her room (in the hospital) she was on IG saying, ‘Everyone wants to know what’s up with me ’cause I didn’t post for your bday.’ I said do you want me to help you make one? She was like ‘Nah,’ She wouldn’t want anybody else posting for her. She felt that like having a ghostwriter I guess. So, this message is really for y’all guys (her social media friends) thank you all for liking, loving, and appreciating my mom,” he concluded before calling her his “biggest supporter” and “best friend.” Cam’ron concluded by sharing that her funeral will be held in Harlem on February 23.
