Azealia Banks Cuts Ties With Parlophone Record Label, Says They’re “Silly Fragile White Liars”

In the past, Azealia Banks has thrown shade at no shortage of fellow celebrities. In particular, she’s been publicly hating on figures like Kanye West, Eminem, and Beyoncé for the internet’s entertainment. Her latest rant, though, finds the “Luxury” artist dissing her own record label.

As Dazed reports, the New Yorker confirmed her deal with Parlophone in November 2022. At the time she took to her Instagram Story to share the good news, writing, “Bitches I just got signed to Warner/Parlophone UK! I’m coming home. I did it. I wasn’t going to let you down.”

The label later verified the news on its own Twitter account. However, it seems the relationship between them and Banks has taken a turn for the worst in the nearly three months since. Earlier this week, she ranted about her experiences in a series of Stories written over a black screen.

“This staff is full of really silly fragile white liars,” she began before dubbing the roster to be “full of corny losers.” Among her fellow signees are acts like Coldplay, David Guetta, and Sam Ryder of Eurovision Song Contest fame. “Like how many idiots does it take to screw in a fucking lightbulb?” the controversial star’s post went on.

It seems Banks is feeling frustration over delays in her music dropping. Her previously teased “New Bottega” single will be available on streaming this week, she says. “That shit was stressing me TF OUT,” the 31-year-old added of working Parlophone.

Of course, she didn’t stop there. “I don’t get dropped, I drop the label,” another Story reads, referencing lyrics from Jay-Z’s “On to the Next One.” Afterward, she wrote “LMAO PUSSIES” for good measure.

At this time, Parlophone hasn’t responded to Banks’ comments.

Banks is famously known for her Instagram antics, and late last year, some fans were concerned that the platform gave her the boot after she publicly dissed Nicki Minaj.

Justin Bieber’s Music Catalog Sells For Over $200 Million

In the years since he first rose to fame as a young boy singing covers on YouTube, Justin Bieber has gifted his fans with an expansive listening library. It all began in 2009 with his My World EP. Afterward, the Canadian creative satisfied the masses with releases like Journals, Believe, and most recently, Justice.

In recent months, there have been talks of the 28-year-old signing a huge deal. This would include handing his music catalog off to another entity. Last month, rumours said the singer could potentially earn $200M if both parties agree.

On Tuesday (January 24), Variety shared that Bieber actually made slightly upwards of the aforementioned price in his contract with Hipgnosis Songs Capital. Over 290 titles were a part of the deal, all of them released prior to December 31, 2023. At this time, his songs will continue to be administered by Universal Music, and UMG will own his master recordings.

Scooter Braun, the “One Time” hitmaker’s longtime manager gave a statement on the massive transaction. “I want to thank Merck and his entire Hipgnosis team and all of our partners involved for working so hard to make this historic deal happen. When Justin made the decision to make a catalog deal, we quickly found the best partner to preserve and grow this amazing legacy was Merck and Hipgnosis.”

“For 15 years I have been grateful to witness this journey and today I am happy for all those involved. Justin’s greatness is just beginning,” he continued.

Things on Bieber’s front have been relatively quiet as of late. Fans were concerned when he once again postponed the final dates of his Justice tour. It was previously scheduled to launch in 2020, and still hasn’t been finished by 2023.

Initially, the Drew founder was faced with delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eventually, he began rescheduling due to a battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome which left his face paralyzed.

Bieber’s catalog deal is certainly a major bragging right, but he’s not the only artist making major money moves lately. Before launching her OnlyFans page and bringing in serious cash there, Iggy Azalea also sold her collection of songs in an impressive eight-figure deal.

Floyd Mayweather Trains Armani White For New Music Video

Armani White is fresh off the release of his brand new single, “GOATED.” Featuring Denzel Curry, the track finds the two claiming their dominance in the rap game.

An accompanying music video also arrives along with the song. Floyd Mayweather Jr makes an entertaining appearance, training the rapper in his TMT gym. Additionally, it appears as though the duo had a great time behind the scenes as well.

According to footage from TMZ, the pair were putting in some work in between takes on set. The “DIAMOND DALLAS.” rapper gets some lessons on footwork and punching techniques on the heavy bag. Additionally, of course, White returns the favor by showing Floyd how to do the “GOATED shoulder dance” that he’s pushing alongside the song.

The retired undefeated boxer’s appearance is a testament to the Philadelphia native’s undeniable growing popularity in the rap game.

“GOATED” serves as the first single to the 26-year-old’s forthcoming EP, which will allegedly be out later this year. His last EP comes in the form of 2021’s deeply personal, Things We Lost In The Fire.

Of course, White broke onto the scene with his viral hit song from last year, “BILLIE EILISH.” It was popular on TikTok before it even saw an official release. The track is rather short, clocking in at just over a minute and a half. However, it certainly manages to pack a heavy punch, as the Philadelphi’s native infectious energy and speedy flows take centre stage.

Denzel Curry, on the other hand, is fresh off his successful year in 2022. In March, he dropped his fifth studio album, Melt My Eyez See Your Future. The 14-track project boasts features from T-Pain, 6LACK, slowthai and more.

Live Nation’s Request To Dismiss Lawsuit In Drakeo The Ruler’s Death Denied By Judge

It’s been just over one year since Drakeo the Ruler’s tragic murder. The fatal stabbing occurred backstage at the Once Upon a Time Festival in his hometown of Los Angeles in December of 2022.

In February of that year, Drakeo‘s brother, Ralfy the Plug, is responsible for filing a lawsuit against Live Nation. On behalf of his brother and the rest of their Stinc Team crew, the “Slime Me Up” rapper claims that the company is partially responsible for the targeted attack.

However, in July of last year, the world was witness to Live Nation subsequently filing a motion against it. In doing so, they were formally requesting the dismissal of the case. They claim that they cannot be held responsible for the fatal attack. The company cites the fact that this is the first incident to occur as the reasoning.

However, according to new reports, Judge Yolanda Orozco is officially siding with Ralfy. She says that the L.A. rapper doesn’t have to prove that a “prior similar” attack happened in order for Live Nation to be held accountable for their role.

“Although the occurrence of a mob/gang attack may have occurred for the first time, defendants may nevertheless be held liable if the facts show that the danger was foreseeable and/or preventable. […] The fact that defendants knew security would be needed for the event supports the finding that the performing artists’ safety was a concern for defendants and foreseeable to defendants,” says the Judge.

Furthermore, Ralfy is claiming that security at the venue is responsible for failing to search every vehicle entering the event. Additionally, he says there was no security present in the VIP area, where the attack took place.

Gangsta Boo’s Partner Says He Discovered The News Of Her Death Through Instagram

It’s only been two weeks since 2023 kicked off with some terrible news. On New Year’s Day, Gangsta Boo passed away at the age of 43. The news was confirmed by an Instagram post from her Three 6 Mafia collaborator, DJ Paul. The official cause of death is still unclear. However, it’s believed to be from a drug overdose.

The hip-hop world remembers her for her monumental work as a pioneer for women in Southern hip-hop. At just 15 years old, she joined Three 6 Mafia and makes appearances on the group’s first five studio albums. She subsequently paved the way for more women in the scene.

In a recent interview with ABC24 News, her partner, Emmet Flores, talks about how he found about her passing. He says he was watching football on New Year’s Day when someone on Instagram actually hit him up to inform him of the news.

Additionally, he says they were just talking over the phone the night prior. “I was just talking to her the night before. She performed with 8Ball and MJG, and I told her I loved her. I told her be safe. She sent me a picture of us on New Year’s from 2017 and I sent a picture back,” he recalls.

Elsewhere in the interview, Flores reveals that one of the couple’s favorite things to do together was praying under the moon. “We would pray together under the moon.. a lot of stuff surrounding love and light and just pray for the well-being of one another. You know, figure, if you’re praying with love, then you know, what could be wrong?” he says.

The “Where Dem Dollas At” rapper was known to live a rather private life, but her and Flores had allegedly been together since 2014.

The Memphis native’s final release before her untimely death was her appearance on Latto‘s single, “FTCU.” Also featuring GloRilla, the track finds Gangsta Boo uniting with two of this generation’s most talented rappers.

Furthermore, it interpolates Three 6 Mafia’s classic 1995 hit, “Tear Da Club Up.” In October of last year, Boo also teamed up with R&B singer Hannah Monds for “Big Momma.”

Tony Yayo recently sat down for a sprawling interview with DJ Vlad. During the pair’s lengthy chat, the 44-year-old dishes on a number of pop culture and hip-hop topics.

During part of the sit-down, Yayo talks about the famous back-and-forth between 50 Cent and Kanye in 2007. On March September 11 that year, both artists dropped their respective third studio albums. 50’s Curtis and Kanye’s Graduation subsequently went head-to-head on the charts in a battle for the game’s most popular rapper at the time. Of course, the Chicago native came out on top, selling nearly one million copies in its first week.

“I’ve been in the studio with Kanye a couple of times. I remember him coming to Dre’s studio, ’cause everybody used to come to Dre’s studio. See, that’s why I’m so appreciative, ’cause those experiences for me, I would never forget. Forget the cars.. to be in the studio with Dr. Dre and Eminem, that was my dream,” reveals Yayo.

Another rapper he’s spent time with in the studio is Eminem. “Then we in the studio in Detroit.. it’s cold as a b*tch, we out there with Eminem. This [is] f*ckin’ Eminem, this dude just sold 16 million records. We used to go to L.A. with Dre and then we’d go mess with Em,” reflects the New York native.

Ultimately, it certainly seems as though Yayo is reflecting back on these experiences with gratitude. “That’s why I’m so humble, because my dreams came true, man. I might not have as much cars, chains and b*tches as any other rappers [but] it’s not about that. It’s about the experience, man,” says the 44-year-old.

Elsewhere in the interview, the G-Unit rapper shares his thoughts on Tory Lanez going to jail. “I mean, it could be rough. People are not used to the conditions. You nobody, you just a number. They gon’ make you feel like you’re not R. Kelly or Bill Cosby, they tryna make you feel like you just a number, and that’s what you are, just like everybody else,” he says on his own personal experiences behind bars.

During the Rap Snacks Disrupt Event, hip-hop media personality Supa Cindy asked the 31-year-old how he chooses what to participate in on the business side of his career.

“At this moment, I really don’t have management, you know what I’m sayin’? I feel like my team, CMG, Ellis and Bread Gang, all of us align together and we make things happen. And we make it look good, look at where we’re at now, you know what I’m sayin’? So at this point in time, unfortunately I don’t, but you know, it is what it is,” reveals the “Time Today” rapper.

Regardless, the 31-year-old has certainly been seeing plenty of success lately. Yo Gotti signed Moneybagg to his label, Collective Music Group (CMG) in 2016. The “In Da Club” rapper recently sat down for an interview with radio personality Big Boy. During their conversation, he decides to share his thoughts on Gabrielle Union’s recent comments. She admits to cheating on her first husband and offers an explanation as to why.

“Do you think that she looks at a man, if he’s not bringing in more than her, that he should be under whatever?” he questions. “For just sayin’, I was the breadwinner, like, making more money, so now he should just go with whatever I say, until what? She goes find something she likes?” questions the “Candy Shop” rapper.

“This is really what we’re talking about, this is hoe sh*t, man. This is the mentality of someone who’s a hoe. Because [she’s] saying, ‘if you got the bigger bag, then I’ll listen. But if their bag ain’t right, I’m out.’ That’s hoe talk,” 50 continues afterwards.

Of course, the actress is responsible for stirring up some controversies due to some recent comments. While appearing on Dax Shepard‘s podcast, Armchair Expert, Union says her and her ex-husband, Chris Howard, used to cheat on each other. During the pair’s conversation, she reflects on her behavior.

“I just felt entitled to it as well. I was paying all the bills, I was working my ass off and I felt like, that’s what comes with the spoils of riches. And, like my dad before me, whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want, is what I thought. It was just dysfunctional from day one,” Union explains in a clip from the chat.

Union and Howard split in 2005. The Bad Boys II actress is now married to former NBA star Dwayne Wade. They married in 2014 and their daughter, Kaavia James, was subsequently born in 2018.

On Thursday (January 12), Billboard published their brand new interview with the “Drowning” rapper. During the sit-down, A Boogie opens up about a number of different topics. Notably, he talks about an injury that his mother suffered and its effects on him. During a raid of the rapper’s home in 2020, 16 SWAT officers are responsible for busting through the door. His mother subsequently rolled her ankle while falling down the stairs.

“When I seen Mom Dukes fall down the stairs that day, bro. I’m looking up to see what was coming behind her, and all I seen was a flashlight, and whatever kind of chopper those SWAT teams have. It was crazy, and I just froze up. I couldn’t do anything,” he details. The New York native says isolation has helped him to grow and reflect on his past.

Elsewhere in the interview, he also addresses dealing with the loss of one of his closest friends, PnB Rock. “When it comes to someone close to me passing away, it’s hard, but I can’t lose focus because I have to be responsible and find the balance to deal with those tough losses so I can properly help out in any way I can. Isolation helped with that,” says the 27-year-old.

His latest project, the aforementioned Me vs. Myself, arrived just over a month ago. It boasts features from Roddy Ricch, G Herbo, Lil Durk and others. Furthermore, it’s backed by the single, “Water (Drowning Pt. 2)” with Kodak Black. Of course, this serves as the sequel to their 2017 track together.

A Boogie released a deluxe version of the album with an extra song just a few days after the original release. “Needed That” features the late PnB Rock and serves as the deluxe version’s first song on the tracklist.
