Lizzo Honors Tina Turner With Halloween Costume

Lizzo chose to go old school with her Halloween costume, replicating an iconic costume from pop iconic Tina Turner. The black, bejeweled dress is reminiscent of Turner’s looks from the mid-70s. “Honoring Tina Turner,” Lizzo wrote on Instagram while showing off the costume in a very Turner-esque pose. Fans loved the costume, despite Lizzo’s recent controversies.

Turner passed away in May, at the age of 83. According to a representative of the artist. Turner died peacefully at home in Switzerland. Lizzo’s costume is synonymous with the 1970s and 80s, the era that Turner became a true household name. During the 1980s, Turner released two top-five albums and four top-five singles. Turner won eight Grammys during her lifetime and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. First, she was inducted alongside her ex-husband Ike in 1991. Then she was inducted as a solo artist in 2021.

However, Lizzo wasn’t the only person wowing their audience with their Halloween costume. Chloe Bailey stole hearts like a master thief as she dropped her Catwoman look for Halloween. A tight leather corset (with some bat-like embellishments) and thigh-high leather boots showed off Bailey’s bountiful curves and embraced everything we love about Selina Kyle. In the comments of Bailey’s Instagram post showing off the outfit, many people likened her to the somewhat infamous portrayal of the character by Halle Berry in 2004’s Catwoman. However, the white stitching on Bailey’s legs is also very reminiscent of Michelle Pfeiffer’s take on the character in the 90s.

However, as much as the costume has people dying to see Bailey adopt the feline mantle on screen, that might remain a dream for now. Zoe Kravitz currently holds the title of Catwoman, having brought the role to life in The Batman. Furthermore, Kravtiz is expected to reprise the role in the sequel that is in the works by director Matt Reeves. Despite this, maybe the internet can get its wish with Bailey taking on the role in James Gunn’s new DC universe.

Ice Spice Flashes Crowd In Betty Boop Costume’s Itty Bitty Red Dress: Watch

Seeing as Halloween happens to fall in the middle of the week this year, many people are doing their celebrating the weekend before, such as Ice Spice. Even though the 23-year-old was working the stage at Powerhouse NYC in her home state, that didn’t stop her from getting in on the holiday fun. On Saturday (October 29) the East Coast rap diva kept her audience entertained in more ways than one while busting out fan favourites like “Feelin’ U (Munch).”

Her costume of choice was a tribute to the iconic cartoon pin-up character, Betty Boop, which gave us a taste of what Spice would look like with short, black hair. As she performed one of her biggest songs, the video below shows the redhead near-constantly having to adjust her little red dress, which she wore over tights with heels. Each time she manages to pull the fabric now, it almost instantly rides up again, giving us a cheeky view of Spice, to say the least.

Later on during her set, Spice also performed “In Ha Mood,” one of her most popular TikTok songs to date. One thing’s for certain, the way her booty was bouncing certainly had the crowd in moods of their own, though not all of them were positive. Some critics have suggested that Spice would do well to cover up and learn stronger choreography, but she’s never been one to take unsolicited advice.

MGK dressed as The Bride, Uma Thurman’s iconic character from Kill Bill. Meanwhile, Fox dressed as Gogo Yubari, the infamous “schoolgirl assassin” who provides one of Kill Bill: Part 1‘s most memorable fights. However, Gogo also ends up as one of The Bride’s victims, famously bleeding from her eyes as she dies. Fox made sure to include the tear-like blood in her costume. Of course, this reference to Kim on Kourtney Kardashian’s behalf can be interpreted in a few different ways. One of those is a simple homage: Kourtney thought the dress was beautiful and that her sister pulled it off in an iconic way. Another is ridicule: that look and moment was such an anti-slay that it could be its own freaky Halloween costume. Either way, it’s pretty comical for die-hard fans, although the recent context around their relationship makes it hard to see as anything less than a slight jab.

This year, she’s getting in on the action even earlier with a photoshoot inspired by Game Of Thrones villain Daenerys I Targaryen (she’s got a thing for silver wigs, huh).
