Janet Jackson Didn’t Receive Grammys Global Impact Award Due To Super Bowl Scandal: Report

Amid Dee Barnes’s op-ed condemning the Grammys for honoring Dr. Dre, news about Janet Jackson has surfaced. The music icon has received just about every honor someone in her position could hope for. However, TMZ now reports that Ms. Jackson was initially slated to receive the Global Impact Award this year. Instead, the title went to Dre, and the outlet detailed what they learned happened, forcing the switch.

The Global Impact Award was bestowed courtesy of The Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective during a private ceremony. Dre, Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne, and Sylvia Rhone were lauded, but according to some, the award was supposed to include Janet Jackson. Reports state higher-ups didn’t know how to navigate the fallout of her Super Bowl scandal.

In 2004, Jackson took to the halftime stage and was joined by Justin Timberlake. It was then that he ripped off her top, exposing her breast to a global audience. Immediately, Jackson was vilified, and her career even took a hit. People chastised her for blemishing the wholesome sports event, but it would take years for the truth to surface. It was later learned that Jackson wasn’t at fault, and, after years of condemnation, Timberlake apologized to Jackson.

Additionally, Jackson didn’t attend the private Grammys ceremony because she had something else scheduled. There were conversations about the singer receiving the award from another location, as negotiations about CBS publicly apologizing were also entertained. TMZ reported they were unable to come to an agreement, so Jackson lost out on the honor altogether.

Dee Barnes was a music journalist who interviewed several hitmakers in the late 1980s and early ’90s. It was back then that she aired a segment that would ruffle Dr. Dre’s feathers as Ice Cube was in a beef with his former group N.W.A. Barnes reportedly ran into Dre at an event, and she claimed he slammed her head into a wall and kicked her after she fell to the ground. In her op-ed for Rolling Stone, Barnes not only detailed the assault but she called out The Recording Academy for giving an “abuser” his own award.

In her comment section, dozens of close friends are gassing Kardashian up. Little sister Kylie Jenner pointed out the Good American founder’s “insane” physique. Elsewhere, long-time friend Malika Haqq wrote, “Damn giiirl, here comes the SUN.” Further down, responses from La La Anthony, Khadijah Haqq, and Ash Kholm all complimented Khloé.

The replies are a good place to check for potential suitors. However, real internet sleuths know to investigate a post’s double taps too. As Page Six notes, many quickly noticed that Khlo-Money’s baby daddy, Tristan Thompson, didn’t hold back on liking the steamy images. Obviously, the sentiment is less serious than a comment. Still, it shows that his co-parent caught his eye with her thirst traps.

Interestingly, the social media interaction comes just days after Kardashian told Twitter followers she’s not seeking a relationship at the moment. In her post, she admitted that she’s been busier than ever since welcoming her second child via surrogate. Additionally, she and her daughter, True, are apparently attached at the hip, making it difficult for the 38-year-old to have a life outside of her family.

It’s rare to find a famous figure who hasn’t undergone some sort of cosmetic procedure, from breast augmentations to BBLs. Some choose to keep this part of their life private, not openly discussing the treatments they receive. Others, though, are far more candid – including Julia Fox.

The Italian-American actress is often praised for her bodacious body, which she regularly adorns in controversial designer duds. Some try to pass off their sculpted stomach as dedication in the gym. Thankfully, others, like Fox, are willing to admit they’ve had some help. During a recent chat with ELLE, she specifically dished about her experience with liposuction and Botox.

The Forbidden Fruits host admits that she wouldn’t stop herself from getting either procedure again. For now, though, she’s choosing to embrace her natural body and the aging process. “I’m, like, saggy – like, things are not sitting the way they used to. But it’s like, I am not gonna do a damn thing about it,” she told the magazine.

As of late, Fox has been speaking more and more about rejecting the youthful standards society presses upon women. “Aging is fully in — like fully,” she told TikTok followers. “Dirty girl, ugly [and] not wearing clothes that fit your body type,” she went on, explaining other looks that she believes will trend soon.

Elsewhere on her page, the 33-year-old slammed the beauty industry’s endless “anti-aging” products, which she’s obviously tired of seeing. “I’m going to sue because I’m going to age regardless of if I put that f*cking $500 serum on my face. You all f*cking know it and we know it so let’s stop lying to ourselves.”

Though she tries her best to appease her fans by being radically transparent, there are still those who criticize Fox for virtually everything she does. Drake Gives Courteney Cox The Finger While Clubbing In Hilarious Skit

Plenty of unexpected celebrity link-ups went down this weekend thanks to the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. For one, Chrisean Rock’s selfie with Rick Ross led her beau, Blueface to expose her on social media. Elsewhere, Friends actress Courteney Cox made it seem as though she and Drake linked up at the club for a hilarious skit.

Inspired by comedian Max Goodrich, the 58-year-old put together a video that’s had her Instagram followers in stitches. As the clip begins, we see footage of the Canadian rapper dancing along to his Honestly, Nevermind track, “Sticky.” The camera then cuts to Cox in the corner, taking a selfie with a friend.

Turning back to Drake, we see a short snippet of his head shaking. Next, his hand reaches out towards the Cougar Town lead. When we see her face again, a hand, pretending to be the father of one aggressively wags no after assuming she was taking a photo of him. “Oh, I wasn’t taking a photo of you,” she tells him as the arm continues to wave.

After hearing the news, “fake Drake” makes a fist, seemingly requesting that Cox dap him up. When she smiles and makes a move to tap his knuckles with hers, Champagne Papi swats her away and sticks up his middle finger instead. We then return to footage from the “Sticky” video. This sees the 36-year-old laughing and dancing with his friends as Cox walks away, obviously annoyed.

“No pictures allowed… Got it,” she wrote in the caption, also thanking Goodrich for inspiring her. In the original video, the creator wrote, “POV: you’re at the club with Drake.” Using the same footage that Cox repurposed, the TikToker made it seem as though Drizzy stuffed his fingers in his drink. Afterward, he rubbed them all over his shirt, then hit him in the face.

It’s been making rounds on various apps for a week now. In fact, the “Best I Ever Had” hitmaker even reposted it on his Story. During her legendary Super Bowl Halftime show last night, the 34-year-old quietly broke the news that she’s with child again. It remains unclear how far along she is at this point. Still, her budding bump was proudly on display as she sang. It was previously thought that a guest star may join Rih on stage. Due to the album’s emotional nature regarding infidelity, internet sleuths were quick to speculate that the Jennifer’s Body star may have fallen victim to cheating. Fourth Aerial Object Shot Down Over North America, Lawmakers Demand Answers

Much of this past weekend was spent preparing for the Super Bowl. Outside of the world of sports and entertainment, though, several aerial objects have been shot down across North America over the past few days. As The Hill reports, Sunday (February 12) found the U.S. military removing the third unidentified item from the sky in just three days.

At this time, details surrounding the incidents are sparse. Still, several lawmakers are using their platforms to hold the government accountable in offering up an explanation. “There’s been space junk, weather balloons, spy balloons, and military advancements for years,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on Twitter yesterday afternoon. “All of [the] sudden world superpowers are shooting unidentified objects down. This looks like a testing of military prowess.”

Later on, the far right-conspiracy theorist added, “Lack of evidence and briefings are extremely noticeable.” Her message came shortly after the fourth object in recent weeks was shot down over Lake Huron. Officials confirmed that the mission was successful during a briefing. They noted that the item was first spotted on Saturday. It came down because it was posing a threat to civilian aviation.

The first incident, involving a Chinese spy balloon, saw President Joe Biden order the floating device’s removal from the Carolina coast last Saturday. Following that, a “high-altitude object” was hovering over Alaska on Friday (February 10). The military promptly shot it down. The next day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave NORAD direction to shoot down a similar object found over the Yukon territory.

At this time, the general public is searching for more answers. Specifically, they want to know the origin of the aerial objects and their intention. Finally, others are asking why their appearances have become so frequent lately. Rep. Matt Rosendale is among lawmakers pushing for an explanation.

“Members of Congress must have more timely and accurate information so we can keep our constituents informed. DOD — where are you?” he wrote to the Department of Defense. Elsewhere, two Michigan Reps – Debbie Dingell and Lisa McClain – have been equally voicing their concerns online as well. “The increasing incidents of unidentified objects, the latest over Lake Huron in Michigan airspace, are disturbing,” the former says.

She went on to demand, “We need the facts about where they are originating from. What their purpose is, and why their frequency is increasing.” As for the latter, she told followers, “I have been keeping a close eye on the military’s actions over the Great Lakes today. Our state, and the entire country, deserve answers to what happened, and I will ensure we get them.”

Additionally, Biden’s Administration is facing criticism for their silence on the objects. Late yesterday evening, the DOD reportedly held a press call. Still, the Pentagon hasn’t given any assessment of the unusual item’s origin. It’s worth noting that General Glen VanHerck, NORAD commander, has made it clear that he’s not ruling out the possibility of extraterrestrial activity.

At the same time that the big event was unfolding, Rose and her ex, DDG were feuding on social media. She subsequently leaked recent DMs from the Michigan native, which Blueface believes was Rock’s idea. The Baltimore-born entertainer has previously been known to expose controversial material online, and her partner clearly wouldn’t be surprised to see her falling back into old habits.

After venting about the ongoing drama, the “Thotiana” rapper came across the photo of Chrisean and Ross at the Super Bowl. While they don’t appear to be getting handsy or too close together in the image, the California native has since been lashing out at his on-again-off-again partner over the candid. “Could never be my bitch,” he wrote to her via iMessage after sending a screenshot of the troubling selfie.

“But I get it. You [new] to this shit fr so that typa shit excites you. It’s really none wrong with it, I’m just a different type n*gga [with] my bitch,” Blueface’s next message reads. “That’s [why] I told you long time ago you really don’t want that spot,” he went on, pointing out that he was hesitant to make Rock his official girlfriend because of the pressure that comes with it.

In her response, the “Rainy Days” artist clapped back, “What? He literally got a pic walking past. Idk why everyone tryna get a pic with me, I’m not in his face. He literally caught me off guard when I’m waiting for my car. [You] being weird bro, stfu. Like fr stop talking to me sideways.” Over on Twitter, the beef has only been continuing.

Shortly after the Bad Gal sang some of her greatest hits like “All of the Lights,” “Rude Boy,” and “Diamonds,” the internet began speculating that she’s with child again.
