Erica Banks’ Old Tweets About Megan Thee Stallion Put Her In An Awkward Position

The month of May has been huge for Megan Thee Stallion. She’s currently on her first ever stadium tour and reviews have been positive. When the tour was first announced some haters online claimed that Megan wasn’t a stadium caliber artist. She followed up those accusations by selling out more than a dozen stadiums before the tour even began. She most recently made waves for bringing out Cardi B and teasing an upcoming remix of her GloRilla collaboration with the “I Like It” rapper.

Megan has also been sharing new freestyles every Monday this month, which is where Erica Banks comes in. In a recent interview Banks was asked about going head-to-head with Megan in a freestyle battle. She seemed pretty confident in her abilities to take Megan on saying “its a big difference between me and you.” But after she threw out those comments some fans dug up an old tweet of hers that puts her in a bit of an awkward position. The tweet is from all the way back in 2018 where she seems to proudly declare “Meg the stallion is my alter ego.” Check out both her original comments and the new tweet below.

Fans Dig Up Old Erica Banks Tweet

In the comments, fans debate both whether or not Erica could take Megan in a freestyle battle and if her old tweet puts her in an awkward position trying to pick a fight with Megan. Over the weekend Megan played a pair of sold out stadium shows in New York. She celebrated the accomplishment and her entire successful tour by partying afterwards. Videos of her seemingly having the time of her life made their way online after the shows.

What do you think of Erica Banks’ claim that she could out-rap Megan Thee Stallion in a freestyle battle? Do you think the old tweet dug up by fans of her comparing herself directly to Megan puts her in an awkward position? Let us know in the comment section below.

Erica Banks Says She’s Confident In Competing Against Megan Thee Stallion But Fans Aren’t So Sure

Erica Banks says she’s confident she’d beat Megan Thee Stallion in a freestyle competition. She discussed the idea during an interview with The Neighborhood Talk at Twogether Land after fans proposed the idea in the comments section of one of her Instagram posts, earlier this month. Both she and Megan have freestyled over Gucci Mane’s “I Think I Love Her.”

“Everybody can do a freestyle on whatever beat they choose, but it’s a big difference between me and you,” she remarked. From there, they discussed her making an appearance at Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour and where her relationship with the rapper stands now.

Despite the confidence, fans in the comments section weren’t as sure she would win. “Right it’s a difference lol.. because Meg just sold out MSG and what are you doing?” one user remarked. Another added: “She can honestly rap, I like erica. but she walked in the industry being messy & still is. Even after she went through almost the same thing megan did with 1501. At least Build your fanbase before you try & come for someone who’s on a Larger scale.” Check out Banks’ full comments on the idea below.

Yasiin Bey Disses The Big Three On Slick “Like That” Freestyle

Yasiin Bey needs no introduction. He’s one of the most acclaimed rappers of his generation, and someone who’s been praised for putting artistry before commercialism. It’s this propensity for artistry that led Bey aka Mos Def to criticize Drake during a January interview. He claimed the Toronto rapper failed to meet his definition of hip-hop. A lot has transpired since then, however. The Big Three was destroyed by Kendrick Lamar, and Drake took another high profile L in a rap battle.

Yasiin Bey has decided to resurface in the aftermath of the Drake vs. Kendrick battle and drop a new freestyle. His instrumental choice? The song that started the whole Big Three conflict in the first place, “Like That” by Future and Metro Boomin. Bey sounds sharp as ever over the sparse beat, but the lines that turned the most heads were aimed squarely at the Big Three. The Black Star rapper appears to criticize the artists connected to the moniker for being superficial and greedy.

Yasiin Bey Claimed The Big Three Is “Not Much To Look At”

“Greedy, seedy, and creepy/Corny, horny, and boring,” Bey raps. “Bougie, goofy, and moody/Foolish, ruthless, and clueless/Variations on a petty Big 3/A whole lot to look at, but not much to see.” Calling rap’s most popular artists “petty” is enough to offend the younger generation, but Bey doubles down and claims that the Big Three don’t provide much substance. “A whole lot to look at, but not much to see” is a root of the rapper’s original problem with Drake.

In the aforementioned January interview, Bey dubbed Drake a “pop artist” instead of a rap artist. “Drake is pop to me,” he asserted. “In the sense like if I was in Target in Houston and I heard a Drake song. It feels like his music is compatible with shopping. You know, shopping with an edge in certain instances.” He drew so much negative attention for his comments that he clarified them on Instagram. That said, he stood by his opinion. “I require more of myself and others than just talent or charm or charisma,” he told Drake. “Particularly in times of urgent crisis.” Bey’s freestyle can be seen, consequently, as a triple down.

CyHi Spits Fire During His “On The Radar” Freestyle, Hypes Up Forthcoming Album

CyHi, formerly known as CyHi The Prynce, has got to be one of the rap game’s most unheralded lyricists. He does not drop all that often, which probably hurts his case. But he is without a doubt one of the sharpest writers of the last 10 years at least. Recently, CyHi stopped by for an “On The Radar” freestyle, to remind everyone how special he is.

The Georgia-born rapper and songwriter stepped up to the mic to give us bar after bar for five minutes straight. Outside of his effortless rapping, CyHi impressively switches up his style when the beat transitions halfway through. On the first half, the No Dope On Sundays MC spits over a more hype instrumental, whereas the backend strips things back and slows down. Hopefully, fans will get this type of dynamic spitting on his forthcoming record.

Listen To “On The Radar” Freestyle By CyHi

According to HipHopDX, CyHi is inching closer and closer toward dropping The Story of Mr. EGOT. It would be just his third overall LP and first since the aforementioned No Dope On Sundays. That dropped all the way back in 2017, so it has certainly been a hot minute. We perhaps got the first taste of the album back in 2022 with the EGOT the EP.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new “On The Radar” freestyle from CyHi? Is he one of the best, yet underrated writers the game has ever seen, why or why not? Where does this rank amongst the freestyles you have heard this year? Does this get you excited for his upcoming album The Story Of EGOT? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding CyHi. Erica Banks Gets Tons Of Love From Fans For Freestyle Over “Get It Sexyy”

If there is one thing that Erica Banks has proven over her career, it is that she can rap off the dome with the best of them. Most people know her for her hit song “Buss It,” which went on to spawn a remix with Travis Scott. However, her freestyling ability has been perhaps more impressive. That has been especially shown over the last few months. The DeSoto, Texas native has rapped over famous beats from the likes of Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj. But now, Erica Banks can add a Sexyy Red track to the list with “Get It Sexyy.”

All of these freestyles have been uploaded to her YouTube page, but this one was discovered via Instagram. A post from The Neighborhood Talk shows Erica in a studio with a DJ and right after they chop it up, he drops the instrumental for “Get It Sexyy.” They both get extremely hype throughout the clip and it is quite the wholesome moment. Erica brings an entertaining flow in her instantly recognizable and deep cadence.

It is as almost if this song could have been made for Erica with the way she was able to slide over it. Fans had a real recognize real moment, showing tons of love for her skills. “Erica do be sliding. Y’all cannot deny that! 🔥 one user says. “Unpopular Opinion: She raps better than 90% of the rap girls/boys on any charts but she gotta get better management/team!” another boldly states. Regardless of your view on her, you have to admit that Erica has something special brewing.

What are your thoughts on this “Get It Sexyy” freestyle from Erica Banks? Is this one of her best off the cuff performances so far, why or why not? Do you think she one of the most talented female MCs in the game right now? Is this song still in your rotation? Megan Thee Stallion Drops Hard-Hitting New Freestyle Over “Like A G6”

At the start of May, Megan Thee Stallion warned fans to keep a lookout for what was coming soon. She hasn’t disappointed so far starting with her newest single “BOA.” The song is the third in her series of snake-themed released following last year’s “COBRA” and this year’s “HISS.” The song is off to quite a hot start, racking up over 10 million streams in its first 10 days ahead of its debut on the Hot 100 later this week. The song is expected to debut inside the top 40 of the chart when the full roster is released. It follows “HISS” which debuted at number one, becoming the first of a few diss tracks this year to do so.

Throughout the month she’s also been sharing some new freestyles with fans on a weekly basis. Fittingly, she’s calling it Megan Mondays and has already taken on a few notable songs. But her newest freestyle may be her most unconventional yet. She takes on the beat from Far East Movement’s 2010 radio smash “Like A G6.” Though the song doesn’t seem like a natural fit for her fast flows right away, she absolutely eats the song up from the moment she starts rapping and fans in the comments agree. Check out the freestyle itself and some reactions to it below.

Megan Thee Stallion Freestyles Over “Like A G6”

In the comments, fans share some pretty positive reactions to her newest performance. “Gunna sound like Gunna, Future sound like Future and Megan sound like Megan. No need for her to switch her style” one fan notes, refuting arguments that her freestyles all sound the same. “Bodying freestyles, on a sold out tour and about to release the hottest female rap album of this year. I see why they mad,” another comment reads.

Saweetie Seemingly References Chris Brown & Quavo Beef While Freestyling Over Sexyy Red’s “SkeeYee”

Saweetie occasionally has to remind fans just how good of a rapper she really is. She’s often making waves for her photo dumps and the drama surrounding her relationships. Most recently she’s been in the thick of the beef between Quavo and Chris Brown. Both artists brought her up early in the beef and she’s been dragged along for the ride as the two take shots at each other. Her involvement in that beef popped up during a recent freestyle she shared to Instagram.

In the clip, Saweetie is chilling in her car but she certainly isn’t delivering relaxed bars. For an instrumental she’s using Sexyy Red’s hit song “Skee Yee” from last year. But rather than the raunchy demeanor of the original the “Tap In” rapper used it to flex her money, skill, and stunning looks. During the freestyle she also makes reference to Chris Brown and the beef she’s been caught up in. At the end of her performance she even adapts the hook of the song to reminds fans what she’s coming to their city to do. Check out her entire lengthy freestyle below.

Saweetie’s Killer New Freestyle

A few weeks ago Saweetie was mistaken for Ice Spice on Twitter, which has led many fans to compare the two. In the comments of her freestyle Spice comes up repeatedly. “She’s better than ice spice and that’s a fendi fact” one of the top comments on the post reads. “If y’all can listen to Ice Spice yall can listen to Saweetie!” another commentor agrees. Spice recently released the second single from her upcoming debut album “Gimmie A Light.” The song was met with mixed reactions from many fans in the days following its release.

TI Drops Dizzying G-Funk Freestyle While Fans Wait For New Album

T.I. is a monster on the mic. There’s a reason he’s been able to call himself the King of the South for almost three decades. He’s a trap pioneer, so much so that his breakout album is literally called Trap Muzik. That being said, TI is not limited to Southern fried instrumentals. The rapper recently went on Power 106.1 and dropped a head-spinning freestyle over production that is antithetical to what we expect. TIP showed fans that he could pivot towards G-Funk without missing a beat.

Adorned in a hoodie and sunglasses, TIP skated over the classic instrumental to “Dre Day” by Dr. Dre. “F*ck a player hater, I’m a mayor maker,” he spits. “Out in L.A. laid up like I’m Ghost on Takers, know I’m staying with it.” In the span of a couple lines, TI makes it clear that he’s still the King. He also tips (no pun intended) his cap to the West Coast and references the 2010 film in which he starred, Takers. The rest of the freestyle follows this dense rhyming pattern. The instrumental changes halfway through TI’s verse but he doesn’t slow down.

TI Spit Bars Over A Classic Dr. Dre Instrumental

If anything, he picks up steam. “Old dime a dozen a*s n**ga you are not rare,” he raps. “21 years in this motherf*cker, top tier. We are not peers, when we cheer it is not beer.” He also incorporates the 21 from the previous line into a shoutout to 21 Savage, whom he affectionally dubs his “grandson.” It’s impressive to see TI adapt his flow and style so seamlessly, but it makes sense given what the rapper has in store for his next album.

He talked about the album on the Baller Alert Show back in 2023, and revealed a plan to experiment with different sounds. “I been making some music, and the music I’m making is… how can I say,” he explained to the hosts. “It’s expanding beyond just the concept that I have. I’ve been making somewhat, I guess, more melodic, you know, more R&B vibes, Afrobeat-R&B vibe, party music.”

TI hasn’t provided updates on the album this year, but he has maintained that it will be his last. Kill the King, as it’s been titled, will be a double album and a sendoff to the rapper’s reign. “It’s time to evolve beyond a career as a rapper,” he stated to We In Miami podcast. If he’s rapping like he is on this latest freestyle, fans are in for a classic.

Ludacris Argues He Could Beat Lil Wayne & JAY-Z In A Battle

Ludacris says he could go toe-to-toe with some of the best rappers in the game. Appearing on the latest episode of Funky Friday with Cam Newton, the 46-year-old participated in a game of “Win, Lose, Draw,” in which he discussed how he’d fair in various challenges with his hip-hop peers. At one point, the former NFL quarterback pitted Ludacris against Lil Wayne in a freestyle battle.

“I think Wayne, he’s one of the greatest by the way, I think he’s admitted… he don’t freestyle a lot, so I would just say I would win that,” Ludacris argued. “I’m talking about just straight off the dome is what I’m saying, ‘cause he does it. But I’m just saying that at one point he even admitted it’s not — he makes songs quick as hell, don’t get me wrong. It’s a sense and a form of freestyling, but it’s just like he’s extra with it too. But man, Wayne is one of my favorites.”

From there, Newton brought up JAY-Z to pose the idea of rushing to create the best verse in under two hours. Again, Ludacris went with himself. “A verse, ah, I would have to say win. I would win on that one,” he said. “That’s a strong statement to say that ‘cause again, Hov is definitely one of my favorites as well. Verses, man, I’m just gon’ go in and metaphor and style, in terms of like flow, I’ma kill that s**t. It’s not to say that Hov is not gon’ kill that s**t. But I’m like when you say s**t like that and it puts me in a category like ‘Oh s**t, I’m going against Hov,’ I got to, like every f**king word, every line, every style, every flow, every metaphor, I got to go. You gotta go back and listen to there was a song with me, Nas and Hov on my album called ‘I Do It for Hip Hop’ [that was] so dope.”
