Rapsody Reveals A Lot To Listeners On “Stand Tall”

For the better part of a decade, Rapsody has floored fans with her tremendous pen game and ear for great production. After a four-year hiatus, the North Carolina-bred MC returned in 2023 with her GOATED: Rapsody LP with a bevy of features from JID, SiR, BJ The Chicago Kid, Queen Latifah and more. In the next couple of months she will be returning with another LP and to hype it up, Rapsody is here with “Stand Tall.”

This track is essentially a tell-all in a sense. In “Stand Tall,” she addresses some personal topics such as authenticity, sexual preferences, anxieties. The accompanying music video is also pretty heavy. According to the press release, Rapsody is speaking with actress Sanaa Lathan for about two minutes or so about the things she then attacks in the song.

Benzino says that at the end of the day, he wishes that he and Eminem could just work things out so they can both move forward.

“I don’t have nothing against Eminem. He can rap but I care about us more. This is something that the Maryland MC has spoken about quite frequently. He has been a pretty open book about his rough upbringing in a crowded household. Logic’s father, Sir Robert Bryson Hall, has especially been a sensitive topic. Their relationship has been rocky, to say the least.

Logic has talked about his father asking him to fork over massive amounts of money in interviews with numerous publications. He even brought his dad onstage during a tour performance to officially sign him to Bobby Boy Records, to financially take care of him. Which is why this latest sit-down with his caretaker is not too surprising.

Logic Gets Real With His Father

The veteran lyricist got quite passionate with his dad about the time he once asked his son to give him $850,000 for a house. His dad is/was in a band and wanted a place where they could record music together. Logic told his father that he did not want to do it because he did not want to see him waste it. But all these issues Logic had extended beyond his dad. Because of how many siblings he has, he has been fed up with seeing them waste the funds he has handed out to them. Tyrese Gets Emotional Over Recent “The Breakfast Club” Appearance

Earlier this week, Tyrese sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club. Things between him and the hosts escalated at one point, however, when DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God called him out for his past behavior. Envy recalled Tyrese “talking crazy” to his wife, explaining that that’s why he took “a step back” from the artist.

“I never talked to your wife in a disrespectful manner, and you talked to mine in a disrespectful manner,” he described. “And I never told nobody that. You can say you were on psych meds, you can say that you weren’t. Some of the things you said, Tyrese, deserve me to box your mouth.” Later in the conversation, Tyrese explained that due to his medication, his behavior at the time was “out of [his] control.” He told the hosts, “I’ve literally prayed that people could find it in their heart to not hold me to something that I said and did while I was literally out of my mind.”
