Cardi B has long been promising a sophomore LP to her Bardi Gang, and seeing how consistent she’s been with new singles in 2024, something tells us the rap diva might deliver this year. Her fans remain as loyal as ever to the black-haired beauty, but various bloggers in the music space have mixed feelings about Cardi after snagging a Grammy Award for Rap Album of The Year and then taking an extremely lengthy hiatus. Among the latter category is Joe Budden, who the New Yorker name-dropped during a rant on Twitter/X Spaces earlier this week.

“I’m always working, and I’m hungry,” Cardi declared. “Not even 2017, f**k 2017, I’m working like I’m in 2016 and I have something to prove. You ni**as is mad at that! This s**t ain’t luck ni**a, this is work ni**a. I don’t gotta pay s**t to be on nothing, I’d rather chart low just so I can know what my fans like, and whether they’re gonna react. Fortunately, I charted high, ‘cuz this what motherf**kers wanna hear!” the mother of two boasted of her “Enough (Miami)” song. “One b**ch, two b**ch, old b**ch, new b**ch. None of y’all b**ches not gonna do s**t! I can’t help that other people like that s**t. God gave it to me so I gotta pop it,” Cardi continued to hype herself up.

Cardi B Sends Out a Message to Her Haters

After promising that she’s “standing on business” in this era of her career, the former stripper said, “B**ches be talking, mouth be bigger than their pockets.” Cardi added, “I’m pretty, I’m litty, I’m running this city. I’m s**ting on b**ches in every department. There’s ni**as who haven’t even be liking my records for a whole year. Even Joe Budden – that ni**a hates me – even him said that this song was fire. Why would he lie to me? He don’t even f**king like me, he didn’t like my last record. How people that don’t even like me saying that this record’s fire?”

Elsewhere in Cardi B’s world, the Los Angeles Police Department has her feeling some type of way after a recent incident at a traffic stop. According to the femcee, she was forced to step outside “butt naked” as officers searched her car for three hours while accusing her of trafficking fentanyl. Nicki Minaj’s “Big Foot,” the infamous Megan Thee Stallion diss, is doing pretty well commercially… but not as well as the Queen demands. Moreover, she recently hosted a Twitter Spaces conversation with Joe Budden on Wednesday (January 31), during which she made some very wide-ranging claims. One of these was the Trinidadian superstar’s belief that the Houston MC wanted “a Rihanna moment” with her testimony about the Tory Lanez trial. In other words, Megan wanted undue sympathy for abuse, she posited, which stirred up a lot of controversy from fans and detractors alike. Regardless, Nicki thinks much of this negative reception is false.

Furthermore, among many other industry big-shots, she took aim at Lyor Cohen, a music executive who has been YouTube’s Global Head of Music since 2016. Specifically, Nicki Minaj accused him of allowing or implementing bots on her content to sabotage the success of “Big Foot” or paint it in a bad light, perhaps through negative comments or other metrics. “We have screenshots of the YouTube bots, it’s cr*zy,” she remarked during the Spaces conversation. “Lyor, you better not… Lyor, don’t play with me, n***a. I hope you ain’t around that company no more right now.”

The First Lady of Young Money didn’t stop there, as she also made similar claims against Twitter and TikTok about how fake backlash and criticism is being amplified as a sabotaging method. While she didn’t provide any direct evidence of this, it’s become a common narrative across her recent rants, particularly directed against Megan Thee Stallion. This is nothing new for Nicki Minaj or her Barbz to reckon with, and part of why it’s a prevailing sentiment is because she finds so much overwhelming support from her fanbase that everything else seems moot. Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion are locked in war right now, with some more diss tracks on the way and a whole lot of social media hullabaloo. However, as this drags other celebrities into the fray, we think some people are too quick to cast judgement on whose side they’re on. Moreover, Barbz apparently got Erykah Badu to speak with them and comment on the whole thing, including one particular fan (@ItsLeKid on Twitter) who she was already speaking to. When they brought up “the Queen of Rap,” the soul legend questioned who that was, which prompted them to hilariously and jokingly call her “b***h” for a second before apologizing.

Furthermore, this comes after she reposted a picture of Megan Thee Stallion on Instagram, which led many of Nicki Minaj’s supporters to declare her as an enemy. Regardless, if anything at all, there’s very little to suggest that Erykah Badu is actually against the Trinidadian MC, which means that this is mostly fans hyping things up. In fact, Le Kid said on the social media platform that they “were all trolling each other,” so this isn’t a serious clash. Still, it’s not like the Dallas native is a completely neutral voice in this fight.

Also, we doubt that anyone other than Nicki Minaj and Thee Stallion are truly combative in this sense, as most of us are waiting for the lyrical showdown to make a call. While this could go a hundred different ways, it’s useless to speculate if every little detail falls under such automatic and reactionary scrutiny on both ends.

Cardi B has responded to Offset’s since-deleted post accusing his wife of cheating on him. She addressed the allegation in a Twitter Spaces post on Monday, telling Offset not to “play with me.”

Cardi began by singing Keyshia Cole’s “I Should’ve Cheated.” From there, said: “Don’t pay attention to the country man, y’all. I’m f*ckin Cardi B. If I was giving this pussy to anybody, it would be out. I’m just not anybody. I can’t f*ckin no regular degular shmegular because they gon tell the world. I can’t f*ck nobody in the industry cause they gon tell too. So please boy, stop acting st*pid. Don’t play with me.”

Users on Instagram had plenty of jokes in response to the post when DJ Akademiks shared it on the platform. “This dude been cheating the whole relationship who cares,” one user commented, referencing the rumors that Offset has cheated on Cardi in the past. Another doubted Cardi’s explanation: “It’s the way she tries to prove she can’t be guilty that shows she’s guilty. People really do be showing their whole card if ya listen.”

The post comes after Offset and Quavo performed together at the BET Awards on Sunday night in honor of the late Migos rapper, Takeoff. Swizz Beatz Clarifies Jay-Z & Lil Wayne Collab On “Hip Hop 50, Vol. 2”

It’s one thing for a hyped collab to never see the light of day, but it’s a different kind of pain when it ends up happening without the bombast you expected. But to be fair, maybe that’s just people’s high expectations. Still, fans got very excited when Swizz Beatz teased a collab between Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. However, when the track “This S**t Right Here” dropped, Hov was nowhere to be found in the verses. Instead, a vocal sample of his was used for the song, which left many scratching their heads. During a recent Twitter Spaces conversation with TIDAL‘s Elliott Wilson, the legendary producer had to set the record straight on what he really meant.

Of course, “This S**t Right Here,” appeared on Swizz Beatz’s latest project, the Hip Hop 50, Vol. 2 EP. Moreover, he explained that he referred to a vocal sample he had from Jay during his tour in 2007 or 2008. “I had [that freestyle] in my files as Jay vocals,” the 44-year-old revealed. “So you didn’t have a Jay verse on that joint, you just were playing with us?” Wilson responded. “‘Cause everybody got excited, you know how the Internet is.”

“S**t, I got excited too!” Swizz Beatz exclaimed. Even if the New York legend wasn’t on it, at least Lil Wayne still spazzed. Despite the disappointment for many, Vol. 2 still came packed with excellent features. Chloe x Halle always knew they had strong potential as a duo, but over the last year, we’ve seen the Atlanta-based sisters explore themselves as individuals more than ever before. While the younger of the two spent time working with Disney on The Little Mermaid live-action remake, the eldest sister has been busy sharing new singles in between her sultry Instagram snapshots.

Chlöe’s first release as a solo artist was “Have Mercy,” which she followed earlier this year with “Treat Me,” the Shemix of Capella Grey’s “GYALIS,” and most recently, the super sexy “Surprise.”

As she prepares for the arrival of her next single, “For The Night,” the 24-year-old created a Twitter Spaces session so she could dish to her fans about what they should expect.

“Imma tell y’all a little secret about ‘For The Night,’” she began. “*deep breath* I might regret saying this, but hey, maybe it’ll help f*cking streams. I don’t even think he knows this! I wrote ‘For The Night’ about Gunna,” Bailey admitted.

“Yep, I said it bitches. I said it. So, you know. Yep. I wrote that song after The Breakfast Club interview I believe,” the R&B vocalist recalled.

As she continued to defend her decision, Bailey stated, “I’m a songwriter. I write my own shit, I get inspired by the smallest things, so, kiss my ass *laughs*. Talkin’ bout why don’t I say free this, or free that? Kiss my ass, I support in real life. Thank you!”

“But I’m single,” she clarified just as quickly. “I’m single, guys. Sorry to bust bubbles, but when I wrote that song months ago, I wrote it about him.”

Bailey then urged her fans to make sure they stream her upcoming single so they can find out about all the tea.

“Y’all talk about I need to spill the tea? I spilled the motherf*cking tea! So y’all can’t say I don’t spill tea no f*cking more.”
