Drake Picked The Winner For The Logan Paul Vs. Dillon Danis Fight But His Bet Still Lost Nearly $1 Million

Drake’s weird gambling luck struck again this weekend. The Stake ambassador dropped $850,000 banking on Logan Paul to defeat Dillon Danis in the latter fighter’s debut match. While he was right in picking the winner, however, he banked it all on Paul to defeat Danis by knockout. Instead, Danis, who had never boxed but did compete in a pair of MMA matches — both pre-pandemic, by the way — tried to choke out Paul, resulting in a disqualification — and losing Drake nearly $1 million in the process.

Drake previously lost money picking the winner in March this year, after selecting the University of Connecticut to take home the NCAA National Championship. Unfortunately for him, he placed $250,000 on a spread of 6-10 points on the final score and “only” $100,000 on more than 10 with the final score at 76-59, resulting in a net loss of around $20,000 (the payout for the winning bet was only $230,000).

The For All The Dogs rapper is never down for long, though. He again picked the winner of a basketball championship in June, selecting the Denver Nuggets to beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. They did, and he took home $850,000 — the same amount he lost over this weekend. It just goes to show that the so-called “Drake Curse” may be a lot of hot air, but nobody is immune to taking an L, not even Drake. Considering how often his picks are good though, his luck should turn around soon enough.

Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ Takes Billboard’s Top Spot with Largest Streaming Week of 2023

for all the dogs Google Search

Drake’s For All The Dogs will take the No. 1 spot on Billboard behind a 402,000 first week in sales, according to Luminate. The album is Drake’s 13th No. 1 and the fourth-largest total of the year for an album.

For All The Dogs‘ songs were streamed 514.01 million times, the largest streaming week of 2023 for any album and the fourth-largest ever. Drake holds the distinction of holding four of the top five spots for the largest streaming ever.

Drake is now behind JAY-Z as far as No. 1s. Hov has 14, and the chart leader is The Beatles with 19. Taylor Swift is behind Drake at 12.

In other Drake album news, nearly two years after he removed Certified Lover Boy from Grammy consideration, Drake is ready to put his best foot forward with Her Loss.

According to Billboard, Drake has submitted his collaborative album with 21 Savage to the Album of the Year and Best Rap Album categories. In addition, “Rick Flex” and “Spun Bout U” have been added to the record of the year, song of the year, and other considerations.

According to Variety, Drake withdrew his 2022 Grammy nominations almost two years ago. Drake and his management reportedly decided, and the Recording Academy honored his request. There was not direct reason for wanting to be removed.

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy was nominated for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for “Way 2 Sexy,” which featured Young Thug and Future.

The Recording Academy will not add a replacement for Drake, instead opting to move forward with just four nominees in those categories.

The year before, Drake spoke out against the GRAMMYs while supporting The Weeknd.

“I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artist that exist now and the ones that come after,” he wrote in his Instagram Story. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just won’t change their ways. The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way. This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up overtime and pass on to the generations to come.”

Drake’s 6-Year-Old Son Adonis Now Has His Own Full Song, ‘My Man Freestyle,’ And He Balls Out In The Video

When Drake released his new album For All The Dogs earlier this month, one featured guest in particular made waves: Adonis Graham, Drake’s son (who turned 6 years old a few days ago). He had a quick verse featured at the end of the song “Daylight,” but now it turns out that it was actually part of a full song: Yesterday (October 15), the complete song, dubbed “My Man Freestyle,” was released in full, credited to Adonis.

Drake dropped a video for the track and it features Adonis and some friends playing basketball. There’s also a part in the middle of the song where Adonis, taking on the role of coach, addresses his pals and offers instruction on how to up their game. Drake makes a quick appearance in the visual, as does Toronto Raptors rookie Gradey Dick, but the focus is all on Adonis.

As for the song’s lyrics, they’re not bad for a freestyle from a 6-year-old! Choice excerpts include, “I was waiting for this moment to arrive / I was driving in the car and I mash my car / I was playing on my iPad and I broke my iPad / I am going to my house, see my dad / I am saying hi to my dad and I have to go change / I’m playing basketball,” and, “You don’t want to eat a lollipop / I don’t know who sells ice pops / I don’t know who sells lollipops / I don’t know who sells lollipops / Go ask to a cloud, I don’t know / Go ask to a cloud, I don’t know / You can go ask somebody else / I do not have the skills for it / I just have the skills for the basketball game / Or the soccer game, or the tennis game, or the golf game.”

Drake’s Spanish Vocals On “Gently” Leave TikToker’s Madre Less Than Impressed

Drake may be one of the most well-known rappers in the industry right now, but that doesn’t mean he’s everyone’s cup of tea. The 36-year-old’s most recent album run has done nothing but prove that as podcasters like Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God have found themselves at odds with Drizzy over the quality of his work. Besides dealing with public figures sharing their opinions, the father of one has also had to take in the world’s reaction to For All The Dogs, which has been a total mix.

Loyal fans of Drake’s were happy to see him return to his roots on the new LP, but of course, listeners always find something to slam. This time around, the 6ix God’s Spanish accent on “Gently” is raising eyebrows, particularly those of the language’s native speakers. In the viral video below, one TikTok user filmed her mother’s reaction to the Bad Bunny collaboration. Though she doesn’t say much, her lack of a poker face reveals all the thoughts running through her mind while Spanpagne Papi sings.

“Me gusta su sonrisa aunque me haga daño / I live like Sopranos, Italianos,” he rhymes, earning an eye roll. “I’ve been El Chico for cincuenta años / Me gusta su culazo perreando,” Drake continues. Before the clip comes to an end, the OP’s mother declares, “He’s d*mb,” earning a snicker from off camera.

Drake may have missed the mark with his attempt at singing in Spanish, but thankfully, his “Gently” collaborator is holding things down. On Friday (October 13), Bad Bunny dropped off his Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Manana project with just a few days’ notice, and already he’s expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Drake’s Dad Seemingly Responded On His Behalf Over The Decision To Stay Silent On The Israeli-Hamas Conflict

Drake has faced a lot of pushback recently over his latest solo album, For All The Dogs. Unfortunately, that’s not where the outrage ends. After his social media spats with Joe Budden and Andrew Tate, he’s decided to lay low for a while.

Still, others, including DJ Vlad, are looking to Drake to make a statement about the ongoing conflict between the Israel and Hamas. Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, seemed to offered a response on his behalf over the decision to stay silent. During an encounter with TMZ Saturday, October 14, Graham shared his thoughts.

When asked if Drake’s Jewish heritage intensified his sadness about the tension in the region, Graham replied, “I’m sure it affects everybody. It’s just totally ridiculous… If you say something about this one, you are going to get criticized. If you say something about someone else, you’re going to get criticized… It’s best to say out of it, especially if you’re someone that’s well known.”

He continued, “Being a celebrity and saying something that favoring one against the other it’s going to come back on you. Just be quiet.”

This isn’t the first time Drake has been called out for being silent on political issues. In July, Ebro Darden referred to Drake’s lack of discussion on Black issues while filming the Apple Music show Rap Life Review, which he later walked back.

Drake’s Diamond Bone Chain Is 18 Carats, New Ice Proves How Proud He Is Of “For All The Dogs”

When Drake first revealed that he had an album on the way before 2023 wrapped, buzz instantly began to build. The project faced some notable delays, but earlier this month, For All The Dogs finally hit DSPs in all its glory. That same weekend, the father of one closed out his It’s All a Blur tour in Toronto with 21 Sav, marking yet another major milestone in his career. Drake’s first week sales numbers revealed that he had the seventh largest day in Spotify history thanks to his hard work, which he’s celebrating with a flashy new piece of jewelry.

For his latest piece of ice, the 36-year-old collaborated with jeweller Nadine Ghosn, who custom-made the piece for him. When showing the dog bone chain off to her Instagram followers, she revealed that it includes 18-carat gold, along with 50 carats of white diamonds and six pretty carats of pink.

As Complex notes, this isn’t the only chain we’ve seen Champagne Papi flaunting this month. Ahead of his birthday, Drake also had Alex Moss make him the “Crown Jewel of Toronto,” which boasts a diamond-encrusted figure of his hometown’s famous CN Tower. “A project with my brother for ending it in the 6 and dropping on the 6th in the 6,” the Scorpion rapper wrote on IG while flexing his cool new addition. “We call it the crown jewel @alexmoss. Any team that wins a chip we bring this straight to you for the whole off-season,” he encouraged his athlete friends who play in the 6ix.

Now that Drake has finally delivered on For All The Dogs, the next album hip-hop heads can’t wait to tap into is J. Cole’s upcoming project. The Dreamville head has been on an impressive feature run over the past few months, with some even suggesting that he cooked Drizzy on their “First Person Shooter” collab. Drake Submits ‘Her Loss’ for Grammy Consideration After Previously Dodging the Awards

Drake and 21 Savage Release New Album 'Her Loss'

Nearly two years after he removed Certified Lover Boy from Grammy consideration, Drake is ready to put his best foot forward with Her Loss.

Lil Yachty Hits The Firing Range In New Video

Lil Yachty has had a busy 2023. He led the year off by switching genres entirely and releasing an album inspired by psychedelic rock. Let’s Start Here dropped all the way back in January and surprised fans with longer songs, classic rock instrumentation, and no rapping at all throughout. The move garnered quite a bit of critical acclaim for Yachty and spawned some of his biggest hits in years with tracks like “drive me crazy” and “the black seminole.” But it wasn’t too long before Yachty was back to a more familiar style to his fans.

Since then he’s dropped 5 singles that take the rap approach that many are used to. The first was “Strike (Holster)” which dropped in April. It’s become the most popular of the bunch racking up over 54 million streams on Spotify in the months since it first dropped. He followed that up with the double single “SOLO STEPPIN CRETE BOY” and “Slide” in August. Later that month he followed up again with an even wilder new song called “TESLA.” Finally, just last month, he and J. Cole teamed up for a new single called “The Secret Recipe.” The track clicked with fans immediately and debuted at number 92 on the Hot 100 in its first week.

Lil Yachty Hits The Firing Range

Now in a new video making the rounds online, Yachty is spending some of his free time at the firing range. The clip is short and very reminiscent of another recent video of Lil Baby. Given the backlash Baby received for his mediocre performance at the range, fans instantly compared the two. “Better than the baby video,” the top comment on the post reads.

Most recently, Lil Yachty teamed up with Drake. The two appear together on a track from Drizzy’s new album For All The Dogs. “Another Late Night” is one of the final tracks on the album and sees Yachty and Drake mostly just having fun and acting goofy. What do you think of the new video of Lil Yachty hitting the firing range? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake May Have Just Ended His Grammys Boycott But Also Maybe Not, A New Report Indicates

Drake has a storied history of beef with the Grammys. When accepting the Best Rap Song award in 2019, he downplayed its importance in his speech. Later, he withdrew his 2022 nominations and didn’t submit any music for 2023 either (although he still managed to get a win). Now, after not submitting his previous two albums for Grammys consideration, it looks like Drake is potentially ending his beef with the Recording Academy.

As The Hollywood Reporter reports, “a source close to the situation” says Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss was submitted for Album Of The Year and Best Rap Album, while songs like “Rich Flex” and “Spin Bout U” were submitted for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.

THR added a note worth considering, though: “At the Grammys, Academy members involved in albums or songs — including songwriters, producers, and engineers — can submit material they worked on for awards. For example, a producer or engineer who worked on most of Her Loss, who is a member of the Academy, could submit the project for album of the year, or a songwriter who co-wrote ‘Rich Flex’ could submit it for Song Of The Year and Best Rap Song.”

So, it’s possible Drake didn’t submit the album himself or personally approve its submission. Another possibility is that he put his Grammys beef aside to not prevent 21 Savage from being nominated. Neither Drake, 21 Savage, nor the Recording Academy responded to THR‘s request for comment.
