Floyd Mayweather Continues Israel Support With Morale Visit

Floyd Mayweather has traveled to Israel to meet with members of the IDF and emergency services as part of his ongoing support for the country. Having previously provided 5000 lbs of supplies, Mayweather personally made the trip to the nation this week. He was greeted by large crowds of fans and supporters. Furthermore, he posed for publicity photos with members of the IDF and prayed at the Western Wall holy site. It comes amid unsubstantiated claims from Israel that the US is trying to overthrow the nation’s government.

Of course, Mayweather isn’t the first celebrity to travel to Israel. Tiffany Haddish also took a much-criticized trip last month. Haddish livestreamed segments of her tour as she was driven around Jerusalem in a bus that appeared to contain several other influencers and pro-Israeli media figures. This has led to a wave of increased backlash against the actress, whose joke about “going to find a man” was retweeted by the Israeli government. This comes amid a wave of new attacks on Palestine, as well as related issues stemming from the ongoing war. Haddish later tearfully defended her trip in an interview with TMZ.

Floyd Mayweather Receives “Champion Of Israel” Award

As mentioned, Mayweather has been one of the most vocal supporters of Israel since the re-escalation of hostilities with Palestine last October. Last December, Mayweather received the “Champion of Israel” Award for his contribution to Israeli relief efforts. The award, presented to Mayweather at a ceremony in Miami, was backed by Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency service. The ceremony also served as a fundraising, with over $4 million reportedly raised to further Israeli relief efforts. Mayweather received the award from two close friends who have worked with him on his efforts to help Israel.

Furthermore, as mentioned, Mayweather’s primary contribution to the state of Israel was a supply drop made by his private jet. In mid-October, Mayweather’s jet brought 5000 lbs of supplies to Israel, carrying everything from food to flak jackets. Furthermore, Mayweather has been vocally supportive of Israel on social media and participated in several pro-Israel marches in the United States.

D.L. Hughley Calls Out DJ Khaled’s Silence On War In Gaza Despite His Palestinian Roots

D.L. Hughley recently spoke with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, and their conversation ranged across a lot of topics. However, one of the most salient and notable points of their interview emerged through the topic of DJ Khaled. Moreover, Hughley believes that Khaled has completely and erroneously ignored the conflict between Israel and Palestine that is resulting in all-out war. For those unaware, the We The Best Music mogul’s family is from Palestine, and despite his constant presence on social media, he’s yet to really speak out about this mass and deliberate loss of life in the region with his huge platform.

“So, I’ll see you exalting God when you make a shot,” D.L. Hughley remarked concerning DJ Khaled’s typical social media activity in contrast to what other people are saying about the war in Gaza online. “But I’ll watch a seven-year-old Palestinian boy who is praying to God for the strength to bear that his family had been killed. I’ll watch you pray to not hit a bunker and then I will watch a Palestinian family pray that they can find one.

Then, the stand-up comedian referenced a recent viral video of DJ Khaled’s security guards carrying him over sand so he wouldn’t get his Jordans dirty. “We’re used to Palestinians being carried,” he said. “They’re just not alive. They’re dead and they don’t have shoes, they don’t even have feet. To me, you have gone from DJ Khaled to DJ Callous. You cannot be so oblivious that you forget that the images that you are portraying have an equal and opposite effect. And what it tells people is that if somebody that looks like them doesn’t care, why should you?”

According to CNN, over 32,000 people have died so far in this recent resurgence of the centennial conflict, with the great majority being Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs posited that 576,000 of Gaza’s residents, a quarter of their population, are “one step away from famine,” with food crises and lack of proper medical care and mobility affecting the entire region. “No Question” That Israel Will Compete At Paris Olympics, IOC President Says

IOC President Thomas Bach has made it clear that Israel will compete at the upcoming Olympics in Paris. “No, there is no question about this,” Bach said when asked if Israel could be banned from participating. A handful of protests have been made since Israel resumed hostilities with Palestine last October. These protests have primarily stemmed from Russia, who are currently prohibited from participating due to doping scandals and their invasion of Ukraine.

Furthermore, Bach said there would be special attention given to Israeli athletes who compete outside secured venues, such as cyclists. “Since the heinous attack on the Israeli team [Munich 1972], there were always special measures being taken with Israeli athletes. The authorities feel comfortable that the same will be true of course also for Paris, Marseille, or wherever there will be Israeli representation,” Bach noted. At the time of writing, 55 Israeli athletes have qualified for the Games.

Kevin Durant Sets High Team USA Benchmark For Olympics

As the Games draw closer and closer, more and more athletes have begun to speak on their intentions about the Games. Kevin Durant has stated that he wants Team USA to “really make a statement” at the Olympics with “40, 50-point wins” against their opponents. There are four Olympic berths left to decide for the men’s competition. However, currently, the USA’s opponents could include France, South Sudan, Canada, Japan, Germany, Serbia, and Australia. Durant, a member of the initial player pool for Team USA, is a frontrunner to return to the squad, which is expected to be announced in May.

During the 2020 Olympics, in which Team USA won gold, they averaged a margin of victory of 25.4 points. However, this involved bouncing back from an opening game loss to France. They would later beat by five in the gold medal match. Only one of Team USA’s games, a 120-66 win over Iran, met Durant’s 2024 benchmark of “40, 50-point wins”. Team USA has won every men’s basketball gold medal since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Haddish livestreamed segments of her tour as she was driven around Jerusalem in a bus that appeared to contain several other influencers and pro-Israeli media figures. Haddish previously addressed Williams’ explosive appearance on Club Shay Shay, taking to Instagram soon after the interview dropped. “I am not mad I just wish he would get his facts right about me,” she wrote. “Dang I guess I will send him a reminder text. But are we sure that is Katt Williams? He looks a lot like Charleston White,” Haddish wrote on Instagram. It’s a similar response that she previously gave to Williams in 2020. In that instance, he implied she was only famous because she slept with white men.

Khalifa expressed empathy for those in Hamas, noting that Israel has continuously kept Gazans under occupation. However, many took exception to these comments and Khalifa was promptly removed from her role over at Playboy. Furthermore, she has also received hate from people online who believe her past invalidates her political opinions.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Tiffany Haddish began going viral as she claimed that she was on her way to Israel. Haddish is Jewish and she wanted to go to the country to see what is really going on. As she put it, she wants to “learn and see with my own eyes.” Subsequently, Haddish was mocked by many on the internet. Fans found this move to be extremely disrespectful, especially with so many people dying in Gaza right now. Even Mia Khalifa had to step in with a sarcastic tweet of her own.

After all, this could very well just be a propaganda tool.

DJ Khaled’s Cousin Takes Issue With His Silence On Palestine

DJ Khaled’s cousin, Fadie Musallet, has criticized the iconic producer for failing to speak up on the genocide taking place in their home country. During a recent interview caught by The Neighborhood Talk, Fadie explained a falling out he had with Khaled.

“There’s no reason, there’s no excuse when you’re actually a Palestinian,” he said about not speaking out. “For me, my mother lives there. We’re from the same village, same families. So, there’s no excuse, and right now, my heart, dedication is everything with Palestine. I go there a lot. Like I said, my mother lives there. I do a lot of work with a lot of refugee camps there. I do a lot of fundraisers to raise money for Gaza and all the refugees outside of Gaza and the West Bank.”

Kanye West Dodges Palestine Question: “I Don’t Have Enough Information”

Kanye West says he doesn’t have an opinion on the conflict between Israel and Palestine and is more focused on the violence in his hometown of Chicago. West avoided speaking out in support of Palestine when asked about the topic during an interview with TMZ at LAX.

“I don’t have enough information on that,” Ye told the outlet. “I’m a straight up n***a from the Southside of Chicago, born in Atlanta, I don’t have enough information. It’s love for everybody. But don’t pull me into that conversation. I got 14 kids dying every week in my city. So talk to me about that.”

Despite Ye’s lack of a stance, many other artists in hip-hop have voiced their support for Palestine in recent months. West’s former collaborator, Kid Cudi, wrote that he can’t remain silent back in November. “I can’t watch what’s happening in the world and remain silent,” Cudi said in part at the time. “I can’t imagine the pain people are feeling. Seeing their entire neighborhoods bombed, losing generations of family members, parents crying over their children’s lifeless bodies, communities turning into mass graves, people digging through rubble of their homes in hopes of finding remains of their loved ones.”

Kanye West Claims “Vultures” Is No. 1 In 72 Countries, Including Israel

Folks are still bumping Vultures by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign everywhere, and it looks like that’s translating into commercial success. Moreover, the former has reposted a report on social media that the album is number one in 72 countries, including Israel. He posted it on his Instagram Story this weekend, and a clip also emerged online of him speaking to a crowd and making the same claim. It’s unclear what are the exact metrics this report is based on, but there’s a lot of ways in which it could manifest: iTunes charts, streaming, or a combination of both. Still, chart data suggested that the project was removed from Apple Music and iTunes charts when it went down temporarily, so how these numbers will manifest is still unclear.

Furthermore, this is a particularly interesting claim because this list of countries apparently includes Israel. Of course, Kanye West wants to highlight this because of his rampant antisemitism references on Vultures, and his bigoted actions and statements off wax. Yet it’s probably more of a reflection of his massive reach and scope of visibility as an artist rather than folks agreeing with these stances. As such, we still need a little more time to determine what the general public consensus is when it comes to this album.

In addition to all that, there are also other elements of Vultures that were still rocky before it finally dropped. One of these is, obviously, sample clearance issues, as Ozzy Osbourne took to Twitter recently to blast Kanye West for trying to use a song of his without clearing it properly. It didn’t end up on the final version of the album, so we know that the untouched version of the project will probably never come out. But this is part of pretty much every Ye rollot at this point, so it hardly comes as a surprise.

Chrisean Rock Responds To Backlash After Offensive Palestine Hot Take

Chrisean Rock found herself in the midst of a controversy this morning thanks to some viral comments on the Israel and Palestine situation. Overall, she did not come across well in these comments at all. In fact, she was downright insulting throughout her livestream. At times, she said that the people of Palestine were being persecuted because they don’t praise Jesus Christ. Moreover, she had some not-so-tasteful remarks about how Muslims pray. “They don’t believe in Jesus,” Chrisean Rock said. “So that’s why it’s happening right there.”

“I seen videos where they pray at. It’s cockroaches and infested with … so, what is God trying to tell us?” she continued. “What is the message being the chaos. Yeah, we know war, the war. But things always happen for a reason and it’s happening […] That’s where Jesus was born at but it’s like a lot of people over there, they don’t pray to Jesus. They praying to Allah and they saying Jesus just was a prophet. So, I thought it had something to do with that.” Just a few hours ago, she decided to comment on the controversy.

Unfortunately, if you are someone who wanted to see an apology, you are not going to get one. On her Instagram story, Chrisean essentially said that she has nothing to apologize for. Instead, everyone was just talking about their beliefs, and that is it. However, her fans certainly beg to differ as the reality star has been called out all day for her remarks. “See the full live nobody saying anything out of pocket this just my preference on things I respect what ppl believe I just know what the word says,” Chrisean Rock said.
