Kanye West is likely one of the most controversial figures in all of music. Though he’s been that way for a while now, it was kicked into overdrive in the past two years. His series of antisemitic rants created a massive viral controversy that caused dozens of brands and former collaborators to distance themselves from West. But earlier this month he and Ty Dolla $ign released a new album called VULTURES 1. The album got quite a bit of attention despite the controversy and a series of negative reviews from music critics.

Bloggers and fans attempting to report on and discuss the new album have put social media platforms like Instagram in a strange place. The platforms have been vocal about their resistance to hate speech, like West has repeatedly peddled in public appearances. But Instagram in particular may be having trouble separating posts about the album from posts containing antisemitic speech. That is at least according to DJ Akademiks who shared a screenshot of a warning he received from Instagram. He appears to have tried to make a post about all of the songs from VULTURES 1 hitting the Hot 100 this week. But Instagram warned him that making the post could limit his account’s reach. DJ Akademiks Claims Kanye West Post Could Get Him Shadowbanned

West’s new album is performing pretty well commercially. The project just debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 with nearly 150k albums sold in its first week. Additionally, all 16 tracks from the project debuted on the Hot 100 this week.

The highest debuting song was “CARNIVAL” which turned up in the top 5. It narrowly missed out on being the biggest single debut of the week. Finesse2tymes Called Out By Memphis Crip Over Snitching Allegations

The snitching allegations leveled against Finesse2tymes are picking up steam on social media. Earlier this week, No Jumper shared a video from an apparent member of the Memphis Crips on Instagram in which the man claims the rapper named several associates involved in a robbery, including himself, many years ago.

“The Finesse2tymes case, the state case, bro, that ho real,” he said. “I’m in the paperwork, man, with his name right there.” Fans in the comments section had mixed reactions to the video, with many still defending the rapper. Others shared jokes at his expense. One wrote: “I trust any n***a talking bout jail allegations if they making a video on an android frfr.”

DJ Akademiks Addresses Adin Ross & 21 Savage Scam Allegations

Folks recently raised their eyebrows at 21 Savage and his team mistakenly scamming Adin Ross during his gambling stream by using marked cards. DJ Akademiks chimed in on the matter during a recent session. “I did talk to Adin today,” he began. “I’ma be honest with you, that n***a sound like his puppy died. I think there’s a different layer to it. Do I believe that 21 Savage went to go finesse him? No. Do I believe that maybe one of 21 Savage’s mans did finesse him or tried to with some cards? Yes. Do I believe that 21 Savage had zero idea until afterwards? Nah. I think he probably, like, his mans was, like, ‘Alright, this is a lick.’ You feel me? In reality, and I told [Adin] this, maybe I’m naive too, right? I don’t think that would’ve happened to Kai [or] me.

“I think it’s ’cause you’re Adin, I don’t think that anybody would jeopardize having a relationship with, say, Kai, doing that,” Ak continued about Adin Ross. “Adin did tell me that, and by the way, he told me as well that 21 was gonna send him money. Which he probably did, he probably did send him, like, a quarter million dollars. But also, I think he feels a little salty about it. If this wasn’t on stream and if his audience never really bucked up, like, ‘No, you got cheated,’ and somebody else had shown him, he felt he would’ve really lost a lot of money and nobody would’ve cared. That, he feels kind of played for. He told me that Drake called him, and he said, ‘Bro, what was that s**t on stream? What’s up with that?’ And he was just like, ‘No idea, I’m kind of confused.’

“I don’t know, it was kind of a bad look for everybody involved, you know what I mean?” he elaborated. “Now, granted, I don’t think this was for content. I do believe Adin Ross, because I know a n***a like Adin, he will definitely pay you. But also, if you lost, he would expect it to be paid. Truthfully, if [21 Savage] was on that type of time, he could’ve done that to me previously. He’s never been any type of shady with me, I’m being very, very honest. Wiz Khalifa has been in the headlines for a pair of attention-grabbing videos recently. The first came earlier this month when he shared a workout video that left very little to the imagination. The video made the rounds for a few weeks and a handful of celebs gave their takes on it. But right as that story started to fade a new video dropped that got people talking all over again. This time it was a video somebody else filmed of Wiz exhaling smoke directly into one of his friends’ face.

The clip first dropped earlier this week and fans reacted the way you’d expect them to. He was roasted online by fans calling his behavior a variety of homophobic insults. Unsurprisingly though, Wiz himself doesn’t seem bothered by much of the backlash. In a new video he shared to social media he brushes off the discussion sparked by the video. He basically lays out how much of a non-story it actually is and how unbothered he is by the whole thing. In the comments fans mostly come to Wiz Khalifa’s defense. “People that think this is gay are the same people afraid to eat a hot dog or banana in public,” the top comment on the post reads. DJ Akademiks Claims Diddy Cut Yung Miami Off Amid Bitter Feud With City Girls Rapper, Armon Wiggins Gets Involved

DJ Akademiks and Yung Miami very clearly do not like each other, at all. Overall, the two have been beefing for quite some time. Akademiks was also in a feud with one of Miami’s best friends, Saucy Santana. This led to all sorts of back and forths on social media. Furthermore, it even led to Akademiks crying on his Twitch stream. Needless to say, these two have had their history, and it does not seem like they will be friends, anytime soon. That is especially true after what went down last night.

It all started as Miami and Armon Wiggins got into a bit of a heated back and forth on social media. This all stemmed from a situation in which Wiggins was allegedly in Yung Miami’s assigned seat and got kicked out. The two took things to Twitter and it was an all out war. Moreover, Wiggins even posted a clip of Akademiks talking about Yung Miami. In this clip, Akademiks says Miami and Santana’s music flopped. He even says Yung Miami enjoys golden showers from Diddy, and that Diddy has since cut her off, which is why she won’t talk about him anymore.

In his original post, Shiesty responded to a clip of Mariah discussing her relationship with Thug. She explained that they’re bond has “definitely” gotten stronger and that they talk every day. He wrote: “Sh*t simple hoe, it get all bad in that pen it ain’t promised we talk every day mf locked down 6 months straight, move around if this ain’t for you this what come with it!” Later, he shared a screenshot of a message he received from Instagram, in which the platform claimed he “threatened or harassed others, or targeted them with content or messages that shame or disrespect them.” He responded: “Sensitive black feet dic eating ass hoes mane f*ck out my dm f*ck you and yo n***a in jail hope they run his ass up, f*ck everybody I’m otw back,” he wrote.

DJ Akademiks Remembers When NBA Guard Danny Green Hit On His Girlfriend And How He Retaliated

DJ Akademiks knows how to get his name out there. While he does it controversially, he has become a brand unto himself. The Jamaican-born social media star and music critic seems to always be in some peculiar situations. Late last year, for example, he and rapper Saucy Santana got into a vicious, but quite hilarious back-and-forth. It all began because Santana is close friends with fellow MC Yung Miami and Akademiks was sending shots toward her over her “failed” music career.

However, this time, Akademiks was not the instigator. Instead, it was the journeyman shooting guard, Danny Green. The 16-year NBA veteran apparently slid into the DMs of Akademik’s girlfriend. According to him, this all went down right after he won the Finals with the Toronto Raptors in 2019. He went into full detail about this on The Facto Show, according to HipHopDX.

Interestingly, Green got married to his wife, Blair Bashen, not too long after the incident. Akademiks voiced how frustrated he was, especially because his lady was responding to Danny. So, when he noticed this, he decided to fire right back and pull the same stunt by going after Blair. DJ said to her, “Listen, your husband is tryna get my girl so I need you. What’s up? DJ Akademiks Says He Cooperated with Cops on Incident at Center of Sexual Assault Controversy

Akademiks had his first stream of 2024 on Tuesday (Jan 2.). During the stream, Ak spoke about allegations levied against him by his ex-girlfriend, Ziya Abashae, and revealed he was in full cooperation with the police.

“This situation went to the cops over a year and a half ago,” Ak said. “Me and my lawyer were openly cooperative because, serious allegations. I don’t care who’s involved, I don’t want weird shit happening around me.

“We helped the police. ‘Whatever you need! You want a phone? You want passcodes? Let’s decrypt our DVR.’ There is nothing they did not see.”

He added, “It was officially ruled by the D.A. and the police that there was nothing there. There ain’t no charges, there won’t be no charges and there’s documentation.”

DJ Akademiks trended over the weekend after his ex-girlfriend accused him of sexual assault. During an Instagram Live session, the woman, Ziya Abashae, stated Ak and two of his friends allegedly committed the crime.

According to HipHopDX, a rape kit was conducted, and she shunned the claims by the controversial personality who stated she engaged in an orgy with his friends.

“For you to pretend you didn’t do anything? That I just went to your house, and I’m some thot, like we didn’t know each other for two years,” Abashae said. “You tried to save yourself after your friends assaulted me. Whether or not you got drunk or not, I know that when you woke up, you were on top of me too. You raped me too.”

Additional claims online feature a woman stating that Akademiks engaged in communication with her until she was 18 before he attempted to have sex with her and a video surfacing with a woman screaming in the background.

DJ Akademiks Calls Out Meek Mill & Freddie Gibbs While Addressing Allegations

DJ Akademiks was hit with some startling allegations over the weekend. A former girlfriend claimed that Akademiks had sexually assaulted her along with his friends. Furthermore, other women had accused him of messaging them when they were underage. However, Akademiks has since addressed the allegations and says they are false. Furthermore, as it pertains to his former girlfriend, Ak says there was an investigation and that he has been cleared of any sort of wrongdoing.

During his stream last night, Ak made sure to go after those who have been calling him out. For instance, he first took some shots at Meek Mill, whom he has had a beef with for years. “There’s been numerous individuals who probably felt certain way about me over the years,” Akademiks said. “Maybe their career wasn’t doing that good. They had to do some bunny-hopping for billionaires, had to sell their houses, they got dropped from their label. They might have thought that I was one of the reasons why their situation went down.”

Subsequently, he went after Freddie Gibbs, who also had some stuff to say about Akademiks recently. The two have had a feud for a while, however, with Gibbs calling out Ak this weekend, the media personality felt like he needed to clap back. “Maybe I clowned them about them getting beat up twice, getting jumped, ran out of a muthafucking BBQ spot,” the commenter continued. “Your baby momma getting piped out while your baby’s in her gut on camera, maybe on a Fan Bus. Maybe I was gonna put up a $10,000 to name your kid.”
