Azealia Banks was not a fan of Charli XCX’s dual role as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. “I legit just a caught how this song a lazy artist studio interpolation of Ciara’s 1,2 step,” Banks wrote on X (formerly Twitter) about her performance of “360.” After accusing Charli of having “flow just without the swag,” she continued, “I guess brat is when nobody has to tell u ur trash because u already know ur trash. This actually gets worse and worse.”
The “rantings of a lunatic” (as Banks describes herself) caught the attention of Matty Healy, whose 1975 bandmate, George Daniel, is engaged to Charli. “Shut up you f*cking prat,” he wrote in response. In a follow-up tweet, Healy added, “Being more annoying than me is actually impressive.”
This isn’t the first time Banks and Healy have sparred. She called him a “full incel” while he was rumored to be dating Taylor Swift. “Taylor, this guy is gonna give you scabies. He’s not on the level of powerful p*ss you worked hella hard to build. Ugh, so many much cooler people in music to work with,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “You cannot be letting him climb the rich white coochie mountain, sis.” In a separate incident, Banks also advised Healy to eat “a strong green salad” and “wash [his] d*ck.”
Is there a more outspoken celebrity than Azealia Banks? She can make people like Kanye West seem well behaved. The rapper has proven to be a consistent source of scorn and praise for her bold social media statements. She will take anyone to task, no matter who they are or how protective their fanbase can be. Kamala Harris is no exception. Despite receiving endorsements from the likes of Beyonce, Eminem, and Rihanna, Harris has repeatedly fallen victim to the Azealia Banks buzzsaw. Which is why it was such an unexpected twist when the rapper announced she would be team Kamala.
Azealia Banks made her decision known on November 4. The rapper confirmed that she was voting against Donald Trump, but not because she was a fan of Harris. In fact, Banks saw fit to insult Harris a few times while explaining her reasoning. “For as stupid and incoherent Kamala Harris is,” she wrote on Twitter. “And as trash as [Tim] Walz is, and despite the fact that Kamala Harris is the only Democratic Nominee to not have actively campaigned in a Primary…” Not a ringing endorsement by any standard, and yet, Azealia Banks (kinda) landed the plane.
The rapper’s reason for voting Harris/Walz is that she cannot stand Elon Musk. The Tesla founder and Twitter owner has become a key player in Trump’s campaign. Trump even claimed that he would make Musk the head of a government efficiency commission if elected. This is something Azealia Banks can’t abide by. “I really think keeping Elon Musk away from any type of political power… is tantamount to any issue on the table here,” she wrote. “You have to be a complete idiot to think that dirtbag cares about anyone or anything other than himself.”
Azealia Banks proceeded to list off all the other issues she had with the Trump campaign. It’s obvious that she has more negative things to say about him than she does positive things about Harris, but it still amounted to an endorsement. The irony is that Banks’ announcement comes a few days after she went in on Cardi B for endorsing Kamala Harris. Banks mocked Cardi’s appearance at a recent campaign rally and accused her of leaning on a “stupid Latina shtick.” Now, it appears, both rappers have wound up in the same place.
Lil Nas X famously went No. 1 in 2018 with “Old Town Road,” and he followed that with two other chart-toppers: “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and the Jack Harlow collaboration “Industry Baby,” both in 2021. Since then, he has laid relatively low as he works on a new album. The way Azealia Banks sees it, though, Nas has just fallen off.
On X (formerly Twitter), Banks wrote, “Lil Nas X really fell off so hard. Lmfao that little c*ntrag swore she was the tea. B*tch has NO BARS. Hahahahaahahahaa.” To that, Nas replied in a now-deleted tweet, “azealia i could never make a hit song again and you would still never in ur bussy soap selling chicken sacrificing botched body hating ass miserable life reach a 10th of my success. Love ur music btw.”
Later, Nas took to his Instagram Story to share a screenshot of him listening to Banks’ “Out Of Space,” and wrote, “sending u love azealia. wishing u nothing but guidance and clarity. i want u to chase ur dreams. get on ur sh*t. It’s the best time period in music for ur art to thrive. idc what u f*ck sh*t u say about me. I wanna see u win and shine your light. u can drop this internet bully act at any time. Ur fans love u. we love u.”
Banks continued the conversation this morning (October 28) by writing a lot on X. One of the tweets reads, “Where, are, your, bars… we are not going to use patronization to circumvent the topic here… the topic is that you cannot f*cking Rap son. @LilNasX. You’re a terrible lyricist with pedestrian musical sensibilities. We need to come to a consensus on where your talent is. Fine, we can agree that your a little piece of eye candy for these desperate old white homo’s in fashion… but where is your music b*tch?”
As of this post, Nas has not responded to Banks’ latest tweets.
Azealia Banks is verbally attacking SZAonce more, and this may be her most scathing set of comments yet. According to HipHopDX, the New York singer and rapper appears to be going after the R&B phenom for no reason whatsoever over a past RZA team-up. As per usual, she took to X (Twitter) and kicked things off by saying, “Sza is really such an ugly person for having rza on her album after asking me to be on it, Me politely and honestly declining, after news of him trying to pimp me out to Russell Crowe broke. That was really a huge slap in the face and truest sign of a b**** who will always be ugly”.
Then, after attacking her character, Banks insulted SZA’s looks. “Sis can get all the procedures in the world. She’ll always be that insecure fat Muslim girl from New Jersey with the big chin and the gay husband”. Then, she kicked dirt in the SOS creator’s face by placing a crude “curse” on her. “Cursed with a lifetime supply of fresh out the bootyhole d**k in her mouth for eternity… Lmfao b**** ya p**sy HARAM FOH”. This all appears to be in relation to Ctrl, as SZA did have the Wu-Tang affiliate assist her in rolling out the 2017 project.
But this appears to have cut even deeper for Banks, as she references the Russell Crowe incident in her first tweet. If you remember back in 2016, Azealia was on pace to sign a record deal with RZA. However, that all came to a crashing end after the two MC’s attended a party at the actor’s home. Banks claimed to be physically removed and that she was also verbally and physically attacked by Crowe. RZA defended his friend, saying that Banks was “erratic” and “obnoxious” and that she was instigating things first. Since then, she has had beef with both males and SZA seems to be collateral in a sense with this rant.

Azealia Banks will say just about anything. She says it with conviction, and has torched a few dozen celebrities in the past as a result. She’s also been on the wrong side of Twitter beef, and been called out for problematic behavior. It subsequently makes it difficult to determine when she’s telling the truth or not. Azealia Banks had an absolute explosive Twitter rant on September 11. She went after a number of targets, but the most shocking accusations were leveled at Kanye West. Banks stated, as though she knows for a fact, that West physically abuses his wife, Bianca Censori.
The whole rant took place in the early hours of the morning. Azealia Banks posted a screenshot of a termination notice issued to Milo Yiannopoulos. Yiannopoulos previously worked for West, but has been increasingly vocal about his opposition towards the rapper’s various antics. Azealia Banks laid into the controversial Yiannopoulos, calling him names and making bold assertions about his personal life. It’s when the focus shifted to Kanye West, though, that the rest of Twitter locked in.
Azealia Banks claimed that the former Ye employee had implicit knowledge of the domestic abuse going on behind closed doors. “Tell the world about how Kanye is Beating up Bianca Censori,” she wrote. “And how he threw a chair at northwest the other day big mouth.” Banks didn’t provide context, as she was too busy throwing out other accusations, but this bold claim definitely stood out. Kanye West has never been formally accused of domestic abuse, but he has been attacked for perceived “emotional abuse” towards Censori in the past. Yahoo! News ran an entire article on the public backlash to Censori’s appearances in public, and how the rapper treats her like a “piece of meat.”
As was previously stated, though, Azealia Banks is not a reliable source. She also has criticized Kanye West for years. She dubbed the rapper a “fat smelly loser” when he was beefing with Nicki Minaj in 2023. Banks also roasted West’s album Donda on Instagram Live in 2021. “Two f*cking years,” she noted. “To drop this redundant sh*t? Gosh. Is this a Kanye West record or what?” It’s unlikely there will be a follow up on Banks or West’s part regarding the allegations, but they are admittedly alarming.
Cleotrapa is forging ahead after her tumultuous experience touring with Ice Spice, finding support and a new opportunity with rap veteran Azealia Banks. The 26-year-old rapper, who recently exposed her former friend Ice Spice in a 6-part TikTok series, is set to perform alongside Banks at Terminal 5 in New York City on Halloween.
Azealia Banks, 33, took to X (formerly Twitter) on September 4 to announce the collaboration, using the moment to throw shade at Ice Spice, 24, for her alleged mistreatment of Cleotrapa during the U.S. leg of her Y2K! World Tour. The “212” artist made it clear that Cleotrapa will have a much better experience this time around, emphasizing the respect and professionalism she plans to extend to her fellow artist.
“I don’t like how everyone is trying to make Cleotrapa look. Any fcking who @iamcleotrapa will be performing with me on Halloween Oct 31. at @Terminal5NYC,” Banks wrote. “She will be paid, have her own space to glam, whatever she wants on her rider… because I have fcking respect & class.”
The post comes after Cleotrapa detailed the alleged mistreatment she endured on tour with Ice Spice, including not being paid, having to cover her own hotel and food expenses, and being isolated from the rest of the tour crew. These allegations have sparked widespread conversation on social media, with many fans rethinking their support for Ice Spice, a Grammy Award nominee.
Banks didn’t stop at defending Cleotrapa; she also took direct aim at Ice Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., who had previously blamed the tour debacle on Cleotrapa and her team in a series of posts on X. Banks was quick to call out Rosemond, criticizing him for his comments.
“Ice Spice’s manager is a bird *ss n*gg* 4 trying to add insult to injury when a young girl is expressing how she feels. He’s trying to make Cleo look like an amateur when the fact that he’s even chiming in at all is ghetto, low class and a huge sign of having zero skin in the game,” Banks wrote. She added, “How about he get his artist some filler for those smile lines, she’s aging like f*cking milk.”
While Ice Spice has addressed some of the allegations, the damage may have already been done. The claims of mistreatment have undoubtedly affected the public’s perception of her, despite her recent success and accolades.
But come this fall, Azealia Banks will take a temporary break from online trolling to knock out a list of tour dates across the UK and US. Azealia Banks‘ online commentary has become more popular than her past musical releases. The “Ice Princess” rapper provided her unwarranted thoughts on everyone from Beyoncé and Kanye West (Ye) to Tyler The Creator and Doechii. Detractors were hoping that after reports that Banks was evicted from her Florida home circulated online that she would take a brief hiatus from social media. But, that surely didn’t happen.
Instead, today (July 6), Banks took to Instagram to refute the paperwork floating around while encouraging others to folks to become legally literate before attempting to shame her. In a series of uploaded to her Instagram Stories, Banks detailed the legal matter with her landlord while posting documents of her own.
“It’s a lie,” she said. “I’ve always paid my rent. I’m not a gazillionaire, but surely Azealia Banks has $8,000.”
In a separate clip, Banks claimed that her landlord’s actions were seemingly an extortion attempt after they filed to manage the payments they received properly. Then Banks turned her attention to The Pop Tingz’s report. Banks rapper proceeded to post a snippet of the platform’s original upload on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption: “You girls really have to understand how to at least read a legal document.”

Today (July 3), Lana Del Rey linked up with Quavo to drop “Tough,” a new collaborative single. Del Rey — who is best known for ethereal, Americana-inspired music that typically has little to do with rap — doesn’t exactly live and breathe hip-hop. At least, that’s what you might believe if you haven’t been paying attention.
Yes, she usually collaborates with artists like Taylor Swift and Father John Misty, but the truth is that hip-hop has been an undercurrent of Del Rey’s career since pretty much the very start. To drive that point home, let’s go through a few highlights that illustrate Del Rey’s long-running connection to hip-hop.
2012 — “National Anthem”
The world met Del Rey on her debut major-label album, 2012’s Born To Die. The project spawned a number of singles, the most relevant one here being “National Anthem”: In the video, she plays Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy, while she recruited ASAP Rocky to portray John F. Kennedy.
2015 — “Art Deco”
It was rumored that this song was about Azealia Banks, but Del Rey herself shut that narrative down, saying in an interview, “Definitely not. I have no idea where people got that from. I just don’t know what the correlation is. That song is actually about a group of teenagers who go out every night.”
That didn’t stop the two from getting into a Twitter spat in 2018, though, during which Del Rey showed her teeth: She invited Banks to “pull up” and declared, “I won’t not f*ck you the f*ck up.”
2017 — ASAP Rocky
Del Rey reunited with her “National Anthem” co-star on a couple of occasions in 2017: Rocky featured on “Summer Bummer” (as did Playboi Carti) and “Groupie Love” from the Lust For Life album.
2021 — Chemtrails Over The Country Club
When Del Rey revealed the album’s cover in 2021, she received some push-back over the apparent lack of racial variety among the people featured in the art. In response, she wrote in part on social media, “My best friends are rappers, my boyfriends have been rappers…. My dearest friends have been from all over the place, so before you make comments again about a WOC/POC issue, I’m not the one storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there on the table 24 seven. Respect it.”
(Per Harper’s Bazaar, Del Rey’s dating history includes G-Eazy; He’s the only rapper listed, but perhaps Del Rey has had some other relationships go under the radar.)
2021 — Migos
Del Rey manifested her Quavo collab in 2021 when she named Migos as the artist she’d most like to work with, saying, “I love them. Everything they do. There was kind of like a new revolution of sound 11 years ago in the singer-songwriter community, which I loved seeing. And then with Migos, I think they kicked off a new super fun, super autobiographical, completely different style of rap. I love them.”
Lana got in a good hang with Sexyy Red at this year’s Hangout Festival: The two made some waves online with their joint twerk session.
2024 — Quavo
Del Rey and Quavo were at the center of some dating rumors a few months ago, but Quavo explained, “We having hits,” ultimately teeing up their new song and bringing this timeline to an end.
Doechii has been on a bit of a role recently with her new singles and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. Last year she scored the biggest hit of her career so far with “What It Is.” Two different versions of the song one with Kodak Black and one without have surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. Earlier this year, she was included in a document of Top Dawg Entertainment artists who are expected to release new albums this year. It’s not clear if her newest release will land on the eventual album, but that hasn’t stopped fans from eating it up.
The track is called “MPH” and it’s a short, right to the point banger. The song dropped overnight and it gets right to the point across a brief two minute runtime. The song has a dancy instrumental even as Doechii calls out her haters claiming that whatever they’re doing, it isn’t dancing. A few fans have speculated that some of the more pointed lyrics on the song could be aiming at Azealia Banks. The pair went back and forth online earlier this year though it hadn’t escalated to music yet. There’s no real confirmation of any of that but in a year where rap beef has dominated the news cycle it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Listen to the new song in its entirety and judge for yourself below.
Back in March, Doechii teamed up with JT for another hard-hitting new single called “Alter Ego.” What do you think of Doechii’s rapid fire new single “MPH?” Do you think she’s dissing Azealia Banks with lyrical references to covens and OnlyFans? Let us know in the comment section below.
Quotable Lyrics: This moment mean everything to me, so you know I wouldn’t just take it for granted I tell you what it took to get me here, but I don’t think you really understand it Went from b*tches trying to call me out my name, to calling my name in the stands
