Kendrick Lamar’s Childhood Friend Drops A Bombshell Following Surprise Release

After months of theorizing and celebrating for pgLang Stans, Kendrick Lamar is apparently (and finally) kicking his rollout into full gear. Whether this is first and foremost a rollout for his Super Bowl LIX halftime show or a potential new album remains a mystery. However, thanks to K.Dot’s longtime friend Euro on Twitter, we have hope that it won’t be long until we find out. “That’s just a teaser watch the next s**t,” he responded to a fan who tagged him in a post about Kendrick’s new untitled song. As such, it seems like we might get a follow-up to this new release sooner rather than later.

However, it’s still anyone’s guess as to what this “next s**t” even means. Is it a new album, a new hot single, a compilation project, another Drake diss, or just more and more hype until the big New Orleans stage on February 9? Either way, it’s clear that it’s Kendrick Lamar season right now, and there are so many ways in which it could develop. Fans are even looking deeply into the eBay listing of some Black Forces that he used as his cover art.

Kendrick Lamar’s Friend Says He’s Just Getting Started

In addition, they also might be reading a bit too deeply into the new song itself, which has some references to Drake throughout. Still, these allusions are more factual and historical than they are straight-up disses, jabs, or re-instigations. It’s more of a track in which Kendrick Lamar vents against the industry and the culture, using his recent victory as a jumping-off point. While some fans out there are criticizing him for seemingly contradicting his promise of “no Round 2s,” it’s also not accurate to call this a second round in the first place.

If this new song proved anything, it’s that this narrative and thematic focus for Kendrick Lamar goes far beyond just Drake. If his friend Euro is right, then we will probably hear a lot more about this in the near future. But it’s also possible that this is just a final vent for the Compton lyricist to speak on his enemies, haters, and problems once and for all before continuing a West Coast celebration, a pgLang/TDE renaissance, or whatever else he has in store. Whatever it is, it feels great to finally be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel… Or at least, that’s what we hope.

Cardi B Fans Need To “Gear Up” For What She Has Coming Next

Cardi B isn’t your average 31-year-old. For starters, the New York native turned her career as a stripper into one as a Grammy Award-winning rap diva. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, beat Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD at the ceremony in 2019, but she’s failed to give us a sophomore effort since. Hip-hop heads are eager to hear what Cardi’s been working so hard on over the past few years, especially knowing how many ups and downs she and her husband Offset have faced since then. The pair’s drama largely inspired her 2018 LP, and neither she nor the Migos alum seems opposed to turning their pain into art.

The latest releases to come from the Hustlers actress include her “Punteria” collaboration with Shakira as well as “Enough (Miami)” and “Like What (Freestyle).” In 2023, we heard from Cardi on “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion and as a feature on her man’s “JEALOUSY” single. Now, it looks like more could be coming from the black-haired beauty, based on her recent Twitter activity.

What Is Cardi B Working On?

On Wednesday (April 17), the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker hopped on Twitter/X to share a message that has our attention. “Gear up,” she simply wrote, potentially addressing both the Bardi Gang and her competition. Cardi’s spoken candidly about feeling insecure about releasing her sophomore LP, but with legends like Missy Elliott backing her, we’re sure that millions will tune in to hear how her sound has evolved (and if it’s worthy of another Grammy).

Besides hinting at something big coming from her recent studio sessions, Cardi B has also been chatting with fans about how she keeps her bodacious body on point. Though she’s been open about past cosmetic surgeries, it’s still important for the mother of two to exercise and eat nutritious foods that fuel her up for balancing motherhood and superstardom. Megan Thee Stallion’s New Album Might Not Have As Much “Pop That A** Music”

Female rappers have to fight twice as hard to be taken as seriously as their male counterparts. This seems largely due to their often-salacious material. Despite having all eyes on them while their booties are bouncing and bodies are bodying, hip-hop heads tend to forget the power behind people like Megan Thee Stallion’s pen. Her bars on tracks like “Freak Nasty,” “Cash S**t,” and “WAP” are in the caption under countless NSFW Instagram posts, but for her upcoming album, it sounds like the Houston native is thinking about switching things up.

“How many songs do y’all feel like y’all wanna hear on this album?” Thee Stallion asked her Instagram followers during a Live session this week. “In my mind, I was thinking 14, but I keep recording songs that’s so good!” According to the brunette beauty, her moods have been consistently changing lately, causing her to create a lot of different vibes throughout her music. “The first 20 songs I had, I’m just straight rapping. And then I started being in a better mood, so it’s like feel-good songs, and then I got in a ratchet mood ‘cuz you know it’s about to be summertime!” she shared.

Though it’s in her nature to make twerk-worthy anthems, Thee Stallion is feeling somewhat reluctant due to the hate she received in the past. “I just remember how y’all used to really whack me for making pop that a** music,” the multi-talent teased. “I really wanted to get on y’all’s a**es and show y’all how bad I can rap, so I really haven’t been in touch with my roots. I’m tryna see if y’all wanna pop that a**, what it’s giving?” The fashionista promised that her rappity rap tracks are coming through no matter what. Still, she’s curious to know how much people are planning on being outside and acting bad over the coming months.

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t the only femcee who’s excited about what she’s cooking up in the studio lately. Her tourmate, GloRilla, also has some new fire on the way, which she’s been teasing on social media ahead of Hot Girl Summer. “COWBOY CARTER” Tracklist: Beyonce’s Next Album To Include “Jolene,” “Levii’s Jeans,” And 25 More Songs

It feels like just yesterday that Beyonce shared her groundbreaking RENAISSANCE album, but it’s due to celebrate its second anniversary this July. As promised, she’ll be sharing the second part of the three-installment series this Friday (March 29), and has already been giving us a COWBOY CARTER rollout that’s full of inspiring Western looks for the summer season. On Tuesday (March 26), the “Halo” hitmaker donned a Canadian tuxedo for an Instagram Reel soundtracked to Sly & The Family Stone’s “Spaced Cowboy.”

In the comment section, the BeyHive didn’t take long to begin begging for the tracklist. Thankfully, unlike her RENAISSANCE visuals, the blonde beauty quickly obliged, unveiling the impressive 27-song lineup for COWBOY CARTER on Wednesday afternoon. It’s unclear if she’ll be working with any other artists, but we do know the previously teased cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” appears to be on the album. Other titles like “DOLLY P” and “WILLIE NELSON SMOKE HOUR” suggest we could hear from the country legends alongside Bey, but only time will tell. Interestingly, rumours are also circulating about a potential second link-up with Travis Scott.

“COWBOY CARTER” Cover: Beyonce’s American Flag Usage Has Music Lovers Debating

Many members of the Hive still listen to Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE as if it only dropped yesterday. We’ve long known that the mother of three planned to expand her Grammy Award-winning LP into a three-project venture, and since she showed up to this year’s ceremony to support her husband in country garb, it didn’t take long for people to realize that she’ll be diving into the traditionally Southern genre on Act II. Earlier this week, Bey confirmed that this month’s release will be titled COWBOY CARTER and that it’s been in the works for over five years now.

On the cover, the Houston native sits upon a galloping white horse, her platinum blonde hair blowing in the wind. In many of the RENAISSANCE visuals we saw Bey serving body, but for this photo, she was nearly covered from head to toe in a red, white, and blue Western ensemble while holding the American flag in one hand. The patriotism in particular is a sign of contention for some, while others feel that the “Telephone” singer is using it to make a statement.

“I feel like everyone is taking the messaging of the imagery wrong because [of] the flag” one Twitter/X user expressed. “The letter that accompanied the photo was basically about reclaiming spaces where you ‘did not feel welcomed.’ Connect the dots.” Another wrote, “The symbolism here holds a double entendre. Reclaim space as an American, and in doing so, propping Americana up while we all witness US-backed genocides. It’s a miss. This cover would have been more appropriate when Obama was President, like in 2012, before Trump’s campaign tbh.”

One person who obviously doesn’t have Beyonce’s back as she attempts to make her mark on the country music industry is Azealia Banks. Earlier this week the New Yorker penned yet another of her scathing social media rants aimed at the Houston native and her husband, Jay-Z, suggesting that Bey’s “White woman cosplay” isn’t as endearing as she might think. “COWBOY CARTER”: Beyonce Confirms “Surprises” And “Brilliant” Guest Features On Her Next LP

COWBOY CARTER is coming – are you ready? On Tuesday (March 19), Beyonce took to Instagram to share an update on her highly anticipated Act II album. “Today marks the 10-day countdown until the release of act ii. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the supporters of ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ and ’16 CARRIAGES,’” her message began. “I feel honoured to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart. That would not have happened without the outpouring of support from each and every one of you. My hope is that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”

Queen B has spent over five years making COWBOY CARTER. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” she noted, seemingly referencing past racism she’s experienced within the industry. “But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

“The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work,” Beyonce shared. She has “a few surprises” in store for us, as well as collaborations with “brilliant artists” who have earned her deepest respects. “I hope that you can hear my heart and soul, and all the love and passion that I poured into every detail and every sound,” the mother of three later expressed. Her upcoming release is a “continuation of ‘RENASISSANCE’” that she hopes creates a journey for listeners in their mind while listening.

“This ain’t a Country album. This is a “Beyonce” album,” her post ended. Rapsody’s “Please Don’t Cry” Tracklist Features Hit-Boy, Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne, And More

2023 was a big year for female rap, and so far, we’ve been seeing that trend consistently carry into 2024. Nicki Minaj is proving that she’s still all that on her Pink Friday 2 Tour following her back and forth with Megan Thee Stallion. Elsewhere, Ice Spice and Latto have gone viral with their latest solo drops, each seemingly aiming at the other. As the frost melts and makes way for new life this spring, Rapsody is set to amaze us with her upcoming album. The project is reportedly called Please Don’t Cry, and it has a scheduled release date of May 17.

On Thursday (March 14) morning, @OnThinIce shared the upcoming LP’s tracklist on Twitter/X. Rapsody will start us off with a Phylicia Rashad (who returns for more contributions twice at the end of the album) collaboration on “She’s Expecting You” before showing out on “Marlann.” Afterward, we have the previously unleashed single, “Asteroids” featuring Hit-Boy and more joint efforts with Bee-B, DIXSON, Erykah Badu, and Alex Isley. Some solo efforts are peppered in between those, proving that Rapsody has no problem riding the beat on her own. Other guest appearances on the 22-song tracklist will come from Bibi Bourelly, Keznamdi, Niko Brim, Baby Tate, and Amber Navran.

Rapsody’s Highly-Anticipated Return Set for May 17th

Arguably the biggest name in rap to appear on Please Don’t Cry is Lil Wayne, who’s feeling “Raw” beside Rapsody. “He’s one of my biggest inspirations and one of my most favourite. I love me some Weezy,” the 41-year-old declared on social media earlier this month.

Elsewhere in the realm of hip-hop, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist cooked up a surprise EP for us earlier this year in the form of Theodore & Andre. The short but sweet project proves that both producers aren’t holding back in 2024, along with many of their other contemporaries. SZA & Flo Milli’s “Never Lose Me” Remix Coming On Rap Diva’s Next Album

There’s a lot of competition among female rappers these days. Instead of letting this hold them back, our favourite femcees are using it to get more creative than ever before, constantly finding new ways to set themselves apart from contemporaries. A great example of this is Flo Milli, who nearly always stays out of the way in terms of drama, but has never been known to miss when spitting over a beat. She particularly proved this during last year’s celebrations for the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and continues to make her presence felt while readying her sophomore studio album, Fine Ho, Stay.

Recent singles to come from the Alabama native include “Never Lose Me” (plus subsequent remixes with Lil Yachty and Bryson Tiller) and “BGC.” Music lovers think these titles might arrive on Milli’s next album, along with tracks like “Hot Box,” “Chocolate Rain,” and “Fruit Loop.” As her most popular release continues to make rounds on TikTok and Instagram, the 24-year-old has plans to capitalize on it even further, this time tapping a renowned female vocalist to join her on the gerreaux-produced beat.

SZA & Flo Milli Confirm Their First Collab is OTW

Since Milli first hinted at joining forces with SZA, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the next edition of “Never Lose Me” to hit streamers. However, the “Pussycat Doll” hitmaker shared via Twitter/X earlier this month that she won’t be sharing this version as a single. “I’m not putting the remix out ’til I drop my album ‘cuz [I know] how y’all get lol,” she teased. “But it’s in the box 😂🤌🏾,” the TDE songstress chimed in, letting us know she’s submitted her verse.

With her Fine Ho, Stay LP being confirmed over seven months ago now, hip-hop heads are growing curious to see who Flo Milli will reference both aesthetically and sonically throughout the project. In the meantime, we know she’ll be joining Gunna on his Bittersweet Tour, which is set to kick off in early May. Joyner Lucas & Conway The Machine Flex Their Lyrical Muscles On “Sticks & Stones”

Massachusetts rapper Joyner Lucas is a confusing rapper at times. He can truly blow you away with his technical ability. However, there are other instances where he comes across as bland and forgettable. Every artist has moments like that, but it seems that fans hold him to a higher standard. Other reasons for his inconsistencies are because of his projects and their rollouts. ADHD had way too many singles released ahead of it, leading to a fairly boring album listen. The same can be said about Not Now, I’m Busy.

In a lengthy November Instagram post, Joyner revealed that the album was in the works for about two years and was finished five months prior. However, due to the reactions that fans were giving to the singles, Joyner felt it was not a project that fans would enjoy. So, he decided to scrap that record that was expected to drop last year and has been reshaping the tracklist ever since. According to Genius, the songs that are rumored to make the final cut have been trimmed down to six, instead of seven.

Listen To “Sticks & Stones” By Joyner Lucas & Conway The Machine

“Blackout” with Future, and “Devil’s Work 2,” are currently not on the LP. One of the tracks that will take its place is “Sticks & Stones” with Conway the Machine. The song sees the production fit what the Buffalo MC is used to rapping over and Joyner does a solid job fitting in. On top of those changes we just mentioned, Not Now, I’m Busy is getting a brand-new cover art and official release date. The original artwork saw Joyner falling out of the sky with an exploding orange car. This new one has an orange color scheme, but the big change shows Lucas’s face in a bloody close-up. Fans should expect the tape to drop on March 22.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Sticks & Stones,” by Joyner Lucas and Conway the Machine? Is this the best single from Not Now, I’m Busy, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the strongest performance on the track and why? Is this going to be an album of the year contender, or did the hype die out for you? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Joyner Lucas and Conway the Machine. Cardi B Announces “Like What” Freestyle Dropping This Week, Rollout Kicks Off

Cardi B is finally back, and after teasing a new snippet on social media, it looks like she’s ready to kick off her album rollout. Moreover, she announced the “Like What” freestyle dropping this Friday (March 1), which has the Bardi Gang feeling like they’re on top of the world. Not only that, but from what the previews indicated, it seems like this song samples Missy Elliott’s classic “She’s A B***h.” As such, a lot of fans are looking forward to how the Bronx MC will bar up on this beat, and whether or not there will be other homages to her fellow femcees. Either way, we’re excited for what she brings to the table.

Furthermore, die-hards have plenty of reason to celebrate here, mainly that they finally “found” Cardi B on social media. After blacking out her accounts, fans started a campaign to find her online, involving a lot of elaborate memes, graphics, and a whole lot of trending topics and hashtags on Twitter. It just goes to show the level of anticipation that the mother of two has built for six years at this point. It’s been a long time since Invasion Of Privacy, and the Bardi Gang wants to see her excel and prove the haters wrong with something really special.

Cardi B’s Upcoming Single: “Like What” Freestyle

In fact, even Cardi B’s on-and-off again husband Offset is excited for what’s to come. They recently linked up amid rumors of a reconciliation, and the former Migo also took some time to tease upcoming material. Not only that, but he demanded that she drop the album soon, and this “Like What” freestyle hints at that being a prompt reality. Fans went wild when the 31-year-old officially posted the cover art and announcement on her Instagram page on Wednesday (February 28), so all that’s left now is to wait and enjoy this build-up.

Meanwhile, whether or not this couple is actually back together remains to be seen. Regardless, are you excited for these next moves?
